My wife went in for and eye exam and ordered expensive new lenses using frames that had been purchased there prior. Weeks go by and no call as to the status of the glasses so we go by to inquire. The woman at the desk said they were very busy and handed the case with the glasses and told to "take them home and try them on." This is not the usual procedure because if something is wrong we would have to return to the store. Upon opening the case we discover one of the temples on the frame was broken off. The woman then says "you can order new frames at a discount." When my wife protests and says that is unacceptable the woman further says that "you signed a document when she placed the order that states they are not responsible for any damage." We feel, the fact they sat on these glasses for weeks without any communication and then tell us to "try them on at home" when picked up, was a blatant attempt to cover up their mistake as they could've claimed they were broken after we took them home. They had to know they were broken when they handed them to her and never mentioned they were obviously damaged furthering the attempted coverup. Our family has been patronizing this location for years for both exams and glasses and find this behavior reprehensible. We request that they either repair the frames that they obviously broke or replace them with a similar one at not cost. 12/02/20 update: Received a call from their corporate office last week. The representative apologized and instructed my wife to return to the office and receive a replacement pair of frames at no cost. That's how customer service is supposed to work. I have been going back and forth all year disputing my bill from December of 2021. Each time I thought I had it resolved I received the same bill without adjustment. I went to another Eye-care facility and paid a $10 copay with my insurance. Last year I had the same coverage and the bill I received today for the same services and the same insurance coverage was $266.75. The contacts and glasses are also overpriced. I refuse to give them anymore of my money after the ridiculous price they wanted when I went there. I paid $141.75 the day services were rendered and I thought that was crazy. So you can imagine my surprise when I received the bill for the additional $266.75. 2021 - $431.75 compared to 2022 - $10. They are ripping people off. Do not use them!!!! read more

My son just came home from his eye appointment for a regular eye exam and one pair of glasses and then $1200 later has come away from this rip off eye MD's office even more in debt than before!!! This place used to be the place to go and I recommended it to my son but I'm very sorry for doing that to him!! This place is just a rip off and it's a shame that they're scamming people out of their hard earned money and the Insurance companies that are footing the bill as well!!! Wanted to make sure that they had my current contact lenses in stock as samples prior to making an appointment for an eye exam as I do not have lenses of my current prescription and it is customary to start an exam at your current prescription. I've been to another MyEyeDR location years ago and had issues. However, when my glasses broke and I was unable to see, this location got me in for an appointment as a new patient immediately the next day. NOT ONLY was I a new patient, but I also opted for a contact fitting. There was a sweet lady who helped mend my glasses together to make them usable until I was able to get new frames, and I was able to leave that day with new contacts. They schedule you a free follow-up appointment about 2 weeks out to check your eyes again after wearing the contacts to make sure the prescription is correct. When I went back, we found that my left eye needed a different lens so the doctor re-did my prescription, and ordered me special toric lenses for my astigmatism, they fit perfectly! I did not order my contacts through the practice, (I used 1-800 contacts) however, I did notice rebates they have on certain brands. I highly recommend this MyEyeDr location. They are all highly professional and eager to get your vision to where it's supposed to be. read more

Bought a pair of Marc Hunter 7918 Aviator Glasses after my annual eye exam. The first day I wore them them the left end piece of the frame broke off. Upon inspection the frames are very cheaply made. There is a facade over the small fragile end piece attach point to make it appear sturdy. I went back and was told there is no warranty. I asked ; How much will it cost to repair them? I was told they do not fix glasses and that I should try and find a jewelry store to try and solder them. The replacement pair will be bought at Wal Mart. read more

Avoid this place at all costs. The sales people are just there to scam you out if your money. I have used this location since moving to plant city. The first couple visits were ok but trot prices seemed a little high. 2021 I got an eye exam and went to buy glasses. I explained that the only frames that seem to last with my chemistry were titanium. I also stated that I wanted something cheaper than the Oakley's I purchased there previously. They sold me a pair of Columbia's. When I pulled my receipt from the previous year, the frames were more. I even have insurance and I was spending around $500. It upset me that they did this. With my line of work I travel and unfortunately I had to use them again as they were open on the weekend. I got my eye exam and I went to go talk about getting lenses in my old pair of Oakley frames. I waited and got the same sales person I had last year and here is where everything went downhill. Those expensive Columbia frames had started to fail. The housing that holds the lenses were "welded" to the frame and it was coming apart. I missed the one year by a week. I was told there was nothing they could do. I made a statement how this was not customer service and that she didn't even try. Next she priced the lenses for my frames at $350 with insurance. I let her know that must be a mistake. She said the insurance doesn't discount much on lenses, just the frames. I had no choice but to pay as I need to be able to see. At the end, I did thank her as she made the decision to get eye surgery easier. They way they charge for items and provide no customer service, I plan on getting Lasik. I will never step foot in this establishment again. I hope that anyone that reads this takes my warning and will not use them either. read more

I had been putting off getting my eyes checked for a while, and finally realized the year was ending and I needed to make an appointment. The first thing I really loved about this office was that I was able to make an appointment online. Then, when I came in they already had all of my insurance information verified and everything was ready to go. I filled out a short paper and was taken back almost immediately. I don't recall the name of the first girl who helped me, but she was sweet and did all of the preliminary tests - check eye pressure, current glasses prescription, etc. I saw Dr. Chaney, who was different from the doctor I saw last year, so I was unsure of what to expect. She was super friendly. I have really bad vision, and has a few questions, and she answered everything and made sure I had all of the answers. Then I got help from Kay to purchase my frames for my new glasses. Let me start out my saying I haven'f gotten new glasses in almost 10 years and I had pretty much no idea what I was looking for, or what would work with my face. Kay was super friendly, and helped me find frames that worked for me, even though me having no clue was probably annoying. Lol. She reminded me about testing them for comfort, as well as look, and then we talked about what kind of lenses would be best (thinned, because I'm basically blind, glare free, etc.). My experience was awesome, Kay was awesome, everyone was super friendly, and I should pick up my new glasses soon. If anything changes between now and then I will update my review! read more

After 2 years of not getting checked I thought I would give Myeyedoc one more try. 2 years ago i waited forever and when calling I was told glasses had to be re-made. Today, On this attempt, after getting probably 4 calls, texts, and emails reminding me of my appointment time, I go in early, fill out paperwork update, then proceed to wait, then wait a bit more, then a little more, then see a person who was behind me end up in exam room first. One hour and 30 minutes after appointment Time, I had still not seen a doctor. So, I leave. Not going to try it again. The Doctor is the boss in a medical facility and this one looks barely out of high school, much less medical school. On over 4+ years experience at this facility, I quit. read more
