I've been putting off an eye exam longer than I should have. One of my siblings booked my appointment and I was on my way. What's great is that they had a same day appointment available, they are in network with my vision insurance and I didn't have to fill out any paperwork as a new patient. I was greeted at the door and they had all the Covid precautions ready. Doors had signs, temperature check, hand sanitizer and they even provide a mask. I was asked to wait at 1 of 3 socially distanced chairs. They had many other customers there checking out glasses, sunglasses, contact lenses etc., but everyone was distanced and masked. Dr. Tran was friendly and professional. She knew her stuff and conveyed it in a easy to understand way. I like how they give you a heads up so that you know what your insurance will cover vs what you will have to pay. Tina went over my options for contacts vs eyeglasses. She was so friendly and upbeat I could tell she enjoyed her job and didn't mind explaining the details. I left paying more than anticipated, but it's mainly because I ended up ordering my contacts with them. No surprise charges because all was explained as I went through the visit. It was very efficient, friendly, and professional experience. I would recommend this location!

Update: 3 weeks after receiving my glasses, I got a bill in the mail. Apparently they didn't pre-authorize or process my vision insurance benefits correctly and they are balance billing me over $100 for their mistake. Perhaps I wouldn't have opted for a second pair of glasses if I had known my out of pocket was more than my budget would allow. It's like paying a bill in full, and then weeks later a vendor changing their mind on the price and demanding the difference. That is definitely not kosher. I intend to dispute it, but again I'm putting this out there as a warning to others. Even WEEKS after your transaction has concluded and product is received, they will try to extort more from you. Buyer beware.

Bad experience, but at least the glasses are cute.

I haven't had an eye exam in 10-ish years, so it was finally time. As it turns out my eyes are pretty much the same as they were ten years ago. I need glasses mainly for electronics and I have a slight astigmatism in one eye. NBD, right? The eye Dr I saw was super sweet and the exam was quick and painless. From start to finish it took about 15 minutes. I was then handed off to a sales person and this is where things went bad... Now, shame on me, I should have read the reviews for this place more carefully and though to ask more questions than I did at the point of sale. I thought knowing what my benefits covered and having indicated what benefits I have would be all I needed to do, but that was not the case. I picked out frames and then it was time to talk lens. I knew I wanted progressives, so I was not surprised when that is the first thing the sales associate suggested. She then looked at my chart and said because I needed the glasses for electronics I would want glare free, this and that, yada yada. I said OK. She applied both my coverages and told me my price. I was shocked that glasses are so expensive (again, it's been a long time), but thought, what do I know? She's the expert. I was resigned to the fact that I was getting what I needed even though I spent more than I envisioned. It happens. And if my review ended here they would have a 3-4 star rating from me. However, she called me the next day and said my secondary insurance would not be covering the portion she thought they would be. She said she had to re-process my claim and drafted me a new bill, with an added discount (I'm not really sure for what) so that I could still submit it to my FSA account for reimbursement and not have to pay anymore out of pocket. I guess I should stop here and say that I am the benefits admin for my company, and all this sounded fishy to me. Sure enough, I called my rep to ask about the transaction and how to submit primary vs secondary insurance claims and what she said did NOT gel with what the My Eye Dr associate was telling me. So I call them back and ask to cancel my order. After a round-about discussion she tells me she cannot do this because the glasses are already made. So I ask to speak to a manager. None was available at that time. The manager would be in at 1030 the next morning and she would have her call me then. The next morning, I receive a call around 11 from someone other than the manager and we go over my issue again. I ask to cancel my order and she then gives me the manager. I go over the issue again (I'm annoyed at this point if you can't already tell) and the manager asks to research my issue and calls me back. When she calls me back, she confirms that they cannot process two coverages together and what I was charged was actually less than it should have been for the lens I selected. At this point I stop her and ask her what she means. Apparently the sales person I spoke to didn't bother to tell me that they make different types of progressive lens (and again, shame on me for not knowing that). She says she can re-price the lens for me using one of the lesser quality options. At which point I remind her that I was told I couldn't cancel my order since the glasses were already made, so how was she now going to change it? If they are made that shouldn't be an option either. She tells me they aren't made yet, they have merely been ordered. I am seething at this point. I get that the sales rep makes money by selling things, I have worked several retail jobs myself, but it is NOT OK to lie to someone just to make a buck. I tell the manager this and she says she is "sorry I misunderstood" the salesperson. NO. Just no. I did not mis-understand anything. The sales person saw a new client and instead of helping me and giving me options and potentially getting my business for years to come she decided to swindle me to make a one time only large sale. That is just bad business. The manager then starts talking about issuing me a store credit for the difference. Are you kidding me? I am never giving this store my business again. So I asked if I could be refunded the same way I paid and she said no. They apparently issue refund checks that come from corporate. I decide to just leave the glasses as is, since making any changes is going to be more trouble than it's worth and tell her that. She says she "is sorry again for any mis-communication that may have occurred" and all I can do is laugh. What a crappy way to run a business. I get a text two days later that my glasses are ready to be picked up. Upon my return, the lady that greeted me and fit me with my new glasses was as sweet as can be. I really hate giving one star reviews, but I also really hate being lied to and refuse to even slightly endorse a company that is only after your money; not your continued business. If you go here, do your homework and don't bother asking questions after they have your money.

Decided to give it a try because everyone has different experiences. Overall, I would say that my family had a great experience with our eye exams, very thorough and efficient. I would rate the doctor as 5 star. The front desk people are not great and maybe I just also had bad luck with them. Our first time as a family here and found that I had to make call multiple times to get a call back, they do not respond to text message (though they direct you to use text) and seemed unfamiliar with insurance/unwilling to figure it out. Therefore, it was fine overall - we got what we needed in the end, but will probably would not go back.

From the start, my eye exam felt rushed. When I struggled to see the letters clearly, the doctor switched to shapes instead of taking the time to ensure an accurate prescription. After the exam, she had me try on the prescribed contact lenses, but I couldn't see well with them. Instead of adjusting the prescription, she decided to keep it the same as what I walked in with. Another challenge was the eye machine used for the exam--it kept fogging up, and the doctor repeatedly wiped it off with a cloth. This happened during both of my visits. I asked about it the second time, and she told me to try breathing through my nose. I also inquired as to whether warm temperature in the office could be causing the fogging, and she responded, "I guess." The equipment looked more like a temporary plastic station rather than high-tech machinery, and I've never had this issue at other optometrist offices. When I picked up my glasses, I immediately noticed something was off, almost like a smudge. I voiced my concerns, but was advised to try them for a couple of weeks. After struggling with them, I returned for another exam, but the doctor still couldn't get my prescription right. At that point, she mentioned cataracts, which had never been brought up before, and referred me to a specialist. When I asked to return the glasses since I couldn't see properly, I was told they have a no-return policy, even though they failed to provide me with functional eyewear. I left messages requesting a resolution, but no one ever called me back. I spent a significant amount of money on glasses that I cannot use, and the lack of professionalism and care at this office is unacceptable. If you value your vision and customer service, I strongly recommend going elsewhere.

It deserves a 1-star for the second phase after the exam is over and they seat you in the lobby for the sales pitch to purchase wildly overpriced contacts and/or eyeglasses. I would compare it with sitting through a timeshare pitch or trying to talk to a used car salesman. They pull special rebates to help you save money (but only if you pay right then and there) and when I told them I wasn't going to purchase new contacts for $900 (after insurance and "speecial rebates") the manager said if I didn't put my card down to "hold" my contacts that day then I would have to pay for my exam which would be free if I purchased those contacts! The front-of-house (front desk and the folks that fit your glasses) are often very young, unprofessional, and not well-informed about eyewear or basic customer service. For anyone getting glasses for the first time or navigating more complex vision needs, this can quickly become a frustrating and stressful experience. You truly need to do your own research ahead of time and know exactly what you're looking for before you walk in--otherwise you may end up in a nightmare scenario. Scheduling appointments is another challenge. Every phone call feels like an inconvenience to them; the tone is unhelpful, rushed, and sometimes even dismissive. There's often audible sighing or irritation when trying to find an appointment time that works. It's clear they don't want to be there, and unfortunately it shows in the service. The only reason I continue to return is because this is the closest location covered by my insurance. If proximity or insurance coverage isn't an issue for you, I would strongly recommend choosing a different provider.
