    Tenderloin Wellingtons and Calamari
    Regina L.

My parents, best friend, and I were seated promptly after I checked in for our dinner reservation. The restaurant energy was high, which is not a surprise, because each time I have dined with friends here in the past, it's been full of people, which is a testimony to their excellent food, drinks, and service! For starters, we ordered French bread with salted butter, calamari with peppers and onions, and beef Wellington. Wow, ALL of these appetizers are exceptional! The fried onions tossed in with the calamari were deliciously sweet! The sauce of the beef Wellington was creamy and the puff pastry hugging the mushroom and beef was the cherry on top for this appetizer! Adam was our server who is kind, funny, attentive, and helped us with all of our menu questions. He checked on us often, making sure we had everything we needed and to make sure everything we ordered looked good and tasted good. Their other staff who brought our food, cleared plates and glasses, and checked on us, added to the excellent Land Ocean service! I asked for the top three menu entrees customers order and with this, Adam convinced me to order the Macadamia Nut Crusted Chilean Sea Bass with coconut jasmine rice and soy-ginger glaze. I ordered spinach sub, instead of the asparagus, due to dietary restrictions. OMG my first fork full brought me back to Honolulu, HI! The macadamia nuts were candied on top of the sea bass, making this the BEST sea bass with macadamia nut dish I have ever eaten outside of HI! My mom took one bite and decided to order this plate for herself because it is THAT rich, sweet, and perfectly balanced with the flavors of the spinach, rice, and sea bass. The sea bass is extremely flaky, to add to why this is my new favorite dish in Land Ocean! My parents gave me their roasted chicken leftovers to take home, since this entree is with generous portions, so I was spoiled with Land Ocean for a meal at home the next day. The chicken and mashed potatoes are so savory to the point that I ate every piece of meat I could from the bone! My parents came from out of town to visit. They praised Adam for his outstanding service and raved about the ambiance and taste and presentation of our Land Ocean dinner we enjoyed!

My wife and I spent the day with her best friend today. We took a day trip to Folsom where we enjoyed an amazing brunch at the Land Ocean Restaurant. You will find this restaurant across the way from BJ's on E. Bidwell Street. As you walk into the building, you are greeted by their friendly staff. We were quickly seated in a booth in the middle of the dining area, where they have ample seating for every party size. One of the many eye catching points is the bar area displayed in the picture below. We really appreciated the waiter that supported our table, he was very friendly and attentive. After looking over the menu we decided to try a few dishes from the Weekend Brunch Menu. If you enjoy well prepared food with a little champagne, this is a must experience. We ordered the Creme Brulee French Toast prepared with Brioche bread, caramelized in Creme Brulee batter with crispy bacon on the side, and I also requested a side of over easy eggs. My wife ordered the Crab Cake Benedict, which is served with cajun hollandaise sauce, poached eggs and country potatoes. So much flavor, with fairly good sized Crab Cakes. The final dish was the Filet Mignon Benedict, it includes poached eggs, bearnaise sauce and country potatoes. The Filet had lots of flavor and is extremely tender, also a must try dish. Over all, each dish had a unique flavor, and we enjoyed a healthy portion of the bottomless Mimosas! Next time you're in Folsom, I would highly recommend giving this place a try.

We celebrated our wedding anniversary at Land Ocean and we were not disappointed! The menu isn't huge but it does offer something for every palette. Service was excellent and very friendly at this intimate family owned restaurant. We chose Land Ocean because we could enjoy seafood and a good steak and everything was delicious. This visit we enjoyed cheesy garlic bread, garlic mushrooms (so good!), the Dip with mushrooms added and the Land Ocean (filet mignon and lobster tail). All of it was cooked to perfection! We will definitely be back to try more. What do you recommend?

I don't care if you are on a diet for the New Year or not. There will be a reason to go out to eat soon. Whether you are still catching up with late holiday celebrations, upcoming birthdays, Valentine's Day or any other occasion. PLEASE consider Land Ocean and come back and Thank me later. I don't know whether to start with the service or the food. Morgan our server was amazing. She helped me pick the perfect red wine for my finicky wine palate. She was so professional and delightful. The food was delicious. We ordered everything from poke tacos, cheese bread, steak and wedge salads. The BEST cheesy bread and wedge salad I've EVER had. It's a great location to meet up with friends and go shopping across the street at Nordstrom Rack before or after. Note: There is a private room for parties and romantic corners in the restaurant for a more romantic ambiance.

Great food and even better service! Amber served us the filet mignon with asparagus and mushrooms and a twice baked potato, plus the grilled artichoke, the kids pasta plate, and an adorable kids sunday. It was more than we could eat and every bite was delicious! Surprisingly kid friendly for an upscale restaurant. We felt quite comfortable coming in without having to dress up. Will definitely come back!

    Teriyaki Wagyu Top Sirloin

Had the bacon-jalapeño mac and cheese starter, the teriyaki Wagyu top sirloin, and tried my wife's filet mignon. All 3 were deliciousness and we had no complaints. We'll definitely be going back sometime.

If you're looking for an upscale dining experience while venturing away from the hustle-and-bustle of downtown parking, "Land Ocean Restaurant" (in Folsom) is a perfect spot worth checking out. Located directly on E. Bidwell St. and across the Broadstone Plaza in the heart of Folsom, this Land Ocean has been in business since 2011. This is one of two restaurants in the greater Sacramento area as they also have a Roseville location at the Galleria shopping mall. I came here with a large group of friends during the afternoon of Saturday 5/10/2025 at around 12:00pm. Since it was still considered "brunch" at that time, the majority of us ordered breakfast-type entrees. I will say that the interior layout of this place is quite impressive as much of the decor is more on the higher-end side of things. Our group (of about 10) were all seated in a large booth which was quite spacious and comfortable. And for the more pleasant Folsom days (and evenings), they also have a decent outdoor patio area. The menu here is quite extensive (and changes throughout the day) with brunch, lunch, and dinner entrees. Additionally, they carry a decent sized children's menu, Happy Hour (Mon-Fri from 3-6pm), a full bar (beer, wine, mimosas, cocktails), and desserts. Since this place is owned by Sienna Restaurants, much of what they carry at Land Ocean can also be found there (as they have locations in nearby El Dorado Hills as well as Roseville). Since I was craving a nice hearty meal while going with a surf-n-turf breakfast, I ended up going with their "Land Ocean Benedict". This was one filet mignon benedict and one Land Ocean crab cake benedict complete with homemade Béarnaise sauce and a side of country potatoes. My lady went with their "Veggie Frittata" which had offered a 3-egg skillet complete with a mix of Gruyere & cheddar cheeses, spinach, mushrooms, tomatoes, avocado, and green onions. This also included the standard side of country potatoes. As for drinks, I enjoyed a "Blood Orange Cooler" as well as a few sips of champagne as the mood was lively and festive. Considering there was a large group of us, all of our meals came out within a couple minutes of one another. Additionally, our waiter made sure our glasses were filled with iced water at all times. As for my LO Benedict, this was definitely above average but not over-the-top amazing. The filet mignon had a few pieces of fat but the crab cake was spot on amazing. It was still quite filling as everything tasted good. I also tried some of my ladies frittata and that too was really delicious. Good service, ambiance, and food. All in all, "Land Ocean Restaurant - Folsom" earns a 4-star rating in my book.

Enjoyed family time with my brother in town and my daughters little family . The place is beautiful ambience and seating, enjoyed the outdoor dining. The menu is seafood based but many choices to choose. My Lavish beef burger was excellent, my brother tried eggs Benedict and looked amazing, daughter had Thai noodle steak salad very tasty and my son in law enjoys mini ahi poke tacos . The service was excellent and friendly. I definitely want to come back again to try other options on their menu . I will definitely be making another trip back again . Nice place for a romantic date or a family lunch or dinner . Give it a try you won't be disappointed

The vibes are as good as the food. The Filet Mignon Stir-Fry is my go-to. All of the staff is top-notch, and Adam B is a stand-out.

You won't find a better server than John.

We've dined at Land Ocean two dozen times in the past 10 years. Tonight was probably our best experience yet. We were celebrating three Moms for Mother's Day. And John, apparently just 1-month in as a server there, made it exceptional. We appreciated his recommendations on everything from wine to appetizers to entrees and dessert. Ask for him if you want confidence in having excellent service. If you happen to be fortunate to sit at his table, be sure to ask him to share his Smorgasboard of Napa wine story and reco. Thanks for providing such a great dining experience, LO!

She patiently explained the menu and answered all of our questions. We ordered across the menu: a ribeye, a filet, the salmon, and one of the daily specials, scallops. We also ordered the Brie and bacon jam appetizer and one of our party had a Caesar Salad. There were a couple of substitutions: extra spinach instead of mashed potatoes with the salmon and fingerling potatoes instead of the mashed potatoes with the ribeye. I ordered the Brussels sprouts as well. Everything was delicious and prepared exactly as ordered. The proteins were substantial, well worth the price. We tried two desserts, the crème brûlée and the banana cheesecake. They matched the quality of the entrees. Everyone remarked on how great the sourdough bread that was brought to the table was. As the ladies in our party said, you could make a meal out of the bread along with some cheese and wine. We were seated in one of the side rooms, which didn't seem to hinder the service at all. Our water glasses were promptly refilled. It was a great experience.

FOOD we started with the chilled prawn cocktail. the prawns were fantastic, and the cocktail sauce was divine. we jumped into a cup of lobster bisque; which was something i was looking forward to. unfortunately, the soup tasted like a very bland tomato fish soup. ugh. it lacked flavor and i don't think there was hardly any lobster in it. major bummer! we go the surf and turf (with lobster), the rib eye, and mushrooms and brussels to accompany the steaks. TONS of food, which was nice (especially for the price)! both steaks were ordered medium rare; the filet was cooked as ordered and the rib eye was on the medium/medium well side. however, the major bummer with the rib eye was the menu states well marbled but the steak gas VERY fatty when you're paying $62 for a USDA prime, "well-marbled" (per the menu's description) steak, the last thing i'd expect is to describe the steak as more fatty then marbled. the sides were great; the garlic mashed potatoes with the soy wasabi sauce were incredible! SERVICE our server started out very attentive and progressively we saw him less and less throughout the night; waiting for the check, needing water refills, etc. i get that everyone has busy tables and the F&B industry is having a tough time, but dang. at a place like this, i'd expect top notch service throughout the dining experience! AMBIANCE it's very nice inside. super cool bar when you first walk in. lots of spacious seating so you're not sitting on top of one another and modern decor. after having worked in F&B, i totally understand the industry; some nights people call out, larger parties consume the kitchen, etc. but for the price, nothing really seemed to blow us out of the water :( hopefully it was just a bad night that we went. it has a great reputation for a reason! hoping the next visit is a better experience!

But how could I know that experience (and the service!! OMG the service!!!) was going to be so outstanding, that I would come back again the next evening to eat again?? The first night it was happy hour, with a spicy jalapeño mule, buffalo cauliflower, smoked Brussel sprouts, and a couple of beers. But the service was so attentive (almost too attentive) that we felt like we had to watch for gaps so we could take a bite or a sip in between folks checking in to see if we needed more food, more refills, or just a friendly hello! The next night was burgers, and brews, and bloody Marys - and again, the most amazing thoughtful, interactive and attentive service I have ever seen! And being a business owner, I can tell you that it's not enough to have a beautiful setting on the river with great views and a decent menu. We were seated for dinner pretty quickly. The only problem I had was deciding what to order. The luau shrimp salad? Meatball sub? I finally decided on the lobster mac and cheese. While the portion wasn't large, it was delicious! Creamy and mild with fresh lobster (not fishy) and garlicy breadcrumbs. My husband got the ribeye and was thin but large with great seasoning and veggies. I'm not a big steak fan but I really liked it. We ended up grabbing some beignets to go for the kids, which were really tasty and came with 3 dipping sauces (our favorite was the Berry, although we ended up eating most of them without sauce). The atmosphere was upscale, but very casual, quiet and fun. We saw families with young children, couples on dates, and friends enjoying a meal together. While our server was polite, the service was quite slow throughout the meal, despite the restaurant being fairly empty at the time. Overall, the excellent food helped make up for some of the service issues, but the rude greeting and slow service took away from what should have been a memorable anniversary dinner. They are located in the El Dorado shopping center, in the same area as the movie theatre. They might be a little difficult to find as they are located towards the end of the entry way into the theater plaza. The setting is inviting and they have a few seating options ranging from a booth style, high table, outside seating, private room and bar. The staff are friendly and welcoming. On this visit we had a few options from the menu and everything was delicious. Their appetizers are a good size and are good to share with a few people at the table. There are plenty of entree options and all of their sides are à la carte. The staff make sure to provide their feedback on the entree items and popular choices by other patrons. If you get lucky to have Joyce to help with ordering, she is the best. Made sure everything we ordered came out just like we ordered. Overall, this place is definitely a must try if you are in the mood for steak and some delicious sides.

We split Beer Battered Pickles, Olives & Boquerones; Wolfsburg¼ Pound Bratwurst, Spicy Mustard, Sauerkraut; Harwood Burger with House Made BBQ Sauce, House Onion Rings, Bacon, Aged White Cheddar; and what we though was twisted as we were there for Happy Hour, none of us were in the mood for alcohol and instead all opted for ice tea with lemon. Their customer service, prices and cleanliness were all adequate. The access here is Disabled-Friendly. No automatic gratuity was demanded for my attendance here. According to Yelp ratings' definitions, that's "Ok". That to me is an acceptable rating of something that does day in and day out what it is there to do. It's NOT a negative review because doing day in and day out what it is there to do is NOT an easy thing to accomplish. That earned 'em another review star for going beyond what they're in business to do. P.S. We ate outdoors on a beautiful evening. Service was very good. We had linguini with white clam sauce and chicken parmesan. Both meals came with a nice salad and very tasty garlic bread. We shared both meals and frankly everything we ate was excellent. We'd come back in a flash if we ever come back to the area.

I believe I found them thru Yelp while looking around at cities on the way back to SJ. We walked in and easily got a table. The space is pretty big. I was worried I may be too dressed down. I was in athleisure and a comfy sweatshirt, but there were people in shorts and t-shirts, so no real dress code here. Dinner started with a complimentary cheesy kinda garlicky bread. The hubs enjoyed that. The scallops were an app. A lil dry. I think due to the way they seared it. But it was a good size with three scallops. The house salads were a nice intro into our mains. A good portion for a an inclusion. My pasta was huge. Plenty of seafood and sauce. And it was nice and creamy which was what I was craving. The hubs sole was fine. I'm not a huge lemon caper person, but it was a good temp. I don't believe the broccoli was sauteed in anything so it's just seemed veg. I like broccoli by itself, so this was fine with me. Nice impromptu stop on the way home. REVIEW #4038

Today we decided that after seeing the movie Michael, we wanted some food because well, Popcorn and a Drink certainly doesnt cut it when you're hungry. Right as soon as we walked in if you turn to the left you get to see a huge menu and with there being so many things to choose from, we choose Tri-Tip Soft Tacos and Pulled Pork Tacos. The wife came over with some samples of BBQ Sauce to try and I first tested the Sweet Fire Heat BBQ Sauce and the Buckhorns BBQ Sauce and just to say that since I dont really do Spice (Except every so often) the Sweet Fire Heat BBQ Sauce wasnt very spicy and the Buckhorns BBQ Sauce was delicious. However when I walked over to get the California Gold BBQ Sauce and I tested that, WHOA!! It immediately hits you in the back of the throat. After waiting for about 4 or 5 minutes the waitress came over with our food. She presented my wife with her Tri-Tip Tacos and then to me with my Pulled Pork Tacos. As soon as I took a bite out of my Pulled Pork Tacos, you could taste the chewiness of the meat because it was so tender. My wife and I then swapped 1 Taco each and after I took a bite out of her Tri-Tip Taco, it then mirrored the same tenderness and taste of the Pulled Pork. It was soft and when I poured the Buckhorn BBQ Sauce on it, it actually added more flavor to the taste of the Tri-Tip the same of my Pulled Pork. I then tried the Strawberry Dragonfruit Lemonade and while I wasn't a big fan of that I decided to just change to Mango Lemonade which was very good as well. Thank you Buckhorn for such a great experience. Oh yeah, when they brought out the Bavarian Pretzel and the Buckhorns Beer Cheese.. WOW!! The size of the Pretzel caught my eye but it was very good as well. And while we spent a good chunk of change, everything here was very well worth it. Definitely a 5 Star place because the food and the BBQ are most certainly ON POINT!
