I came here the first time a few years back with a few friends and did the Murder in London it was a really good experience. I enjoyed how there is interactive prompts in the rooms and the rooms are set up to feel realistic. Also the clues are just the right amount to feel like it's not a complete giveaway. While we didnt win we came really close to it and only had I believe one last thing left to solve. I ended up buying some tickets for my son and his friends to enjoy today and although it was the difficult wizard room they all really enjoyed it. Apparently it doesn't have the thriller moments of murder in London but it had alot of interesting cool puzzles to solve. The price feels a bit too high but I still give it a neat rating nonetheless. read more

If you've never been to any other escape room, it's fine. Our family does a lot of them so we decided to try this one out. The rooms were pretty run down and basic and the front desk person and our game master were extremely unenthusiastic, short with us, and rude. I don't think they like their jobs. At the end she asked if we had any questions and someone in our group started asking about one of the puzzles and she just turned around and walked away and didn't answer her question. read more

When my husband says, "My only complaint is that they don't have 10 more rooms," you know this place is awesome! My husband and I have played about 50 escape rooms at this point and Mystique has earned it's spot as "our favorite." This escape room facility is located in a shopping plaza (Colonial Town Park) in Lake Mary, Florida, right next to Publix liquor store. As soon as you walk through the door, you are transported into a sort of time traveling universe - with even the floor painted in appropriate themed fashion. To access the three different escape rooms (one centered in London, another in Egypt and the other in a magical realm), a gypsy wagon opens to reveal the enchanting hallway. I won't dare giveaway any secrets (that would ruin the fun!) except for noting that there is only one lock to open amongst the three rooms. All other nooks and crannies open by your actions and puzzles being solved. One of the rooms uses ALL of your senses (can we say, " most creative?"). The staff are as amazing as the rooms and we can't wait for their 4th room to open (rumors are buzzing about a pirate themed room) in 2022. So, definitely give Mystique a try - you won't be disappointed! read more

My daughter wanted to do an escape room for her 19th birthday. We have done quite a few and this one was closer to home so we decided to try it out. Murder in London is what we choose. Our game just was great and very friendly. I also liked that this is the only place we have been to that gives you unlimited clues and you don't lose time for utilizing them. The room itself was interesting, like being in an alley way of London. I found the puzzles were not what I expected and if you got stuck, there was nothing for anyone to do. So it seemed there was more down time than other rooms we have done. It was more of a suspense/thriller room. Not scary but we definitely jumped and screamed a few times! We will definitely go back on the future and try the other rooms since it's only 20 mins from where we live. read more

So, I finally had an adventure with my family by solving an escape room! We had an amazing time and it was a lot of fun! Yes, there were some challenging moments but I do recommend for anyone who loves solving things and figuring things out! I won't give out any clues but you do have 60 minutes to solve it! Who would of thought these existed so close to home? I do recommend 2 adult couples and I don't recommend any kids. Just saying, I love my son but he was into everything. The best part of it all, we made it with time to spare! I love the details in our room and whoever created and set things up, they really thought out the details. First off the game master was very friendly. From the time we arrived and left, he was excellent. We did Murder in London, and it had some neat immersive elements. My issue with the room was it didn't feel like there was a ton to do. With 4 people there felt like there was a lot of down time of someone standing around. Everything was very linear, so if you get stuck you really can't do much. This room is more thriller oriented. It isn't horror, but not everyone in our group loved some of the suspense. For the price, it felt overpriced. It would have been nice if there was either a student discount or some type of online discount to tryout a room. The pricing varies on how many people you have. I prefer locations that have a set price despite having 2 or 6 players. At the end they don't do a group photo of any sort. Which is a bummer, as many escape room places do the group pictures with the props. It's a fun place to tryout. I just think the room needed more puzzles. read more

I went here a couple months ago with some friends. We are a group of very experienced escape room people (is there a term for this? lol). When you walk in the theming is really well done. I thought the way you enter to go to your game room is super clever and I enjoyed all the detail that put into this place. We did the Wizard's Tower room and enjoyed it for the most part but felt it was a bit lacking in the flow... some things didn't make the most sense to us but we appreciate all of the hard work they have put into this room. Came here for a team building day with my colleagues and I was BLOWN AWAY. I've been to a good number of escape rooms, and central Florida has quite the large selection of escape room venues to choose from. This was by far, hands down, no questions asked the best escape room experience I've had. Firstly, virtual waivers provided an easy check in process. Staff was EXTREMELY hospitable, kind, and helpful. I couldn't possibly find a bad thing to say about them. The room we did (Wizard's Tower) was fun, exciting, and had unique elements I've never seen in other escape rooms. Sometimes even differently themed escape rooms can feel repetitive if the same puzzles/elements/etc are repurposed. This one felt so fresh and different all the way through. The production quality of this escape room is TRULY unmatched in comparison to other ones. Even better than those escape room venues with multiple locations, or those found on I-Drive. Again, by far the best I've been to. I was so impressed, and I cannot wait to try the other rooms they have and see how those are as well. read more

We've been so excited to get an Escape Room company in Lake Mary, so we just had to give them a try as soon as they opened. From the moment we walked in the door we loved the decor, and the employees were incredibly friendly. We tried their Wizard's Tower room, and the room was so creative! You can tell this is a Labor of Love for them, and they definitely aim to make this a more creative escape room, and not just a room full of drawers and padlocks. The puzzles and plots were creative. Came here a couple days ago with two other people and we did wizards tower (the hardest one) and WOW the room was awesome. It had a lot of details and was very thought out. It was definitely a tricky one, not like most of the escape rooms that I've done! But we were able to escape with 30 seconds remaining ! I highly suggest this room . I've completed maybe two dozen escape rooms over the last few years. I've successfully escaped every room I've attempted, including this room. Pro: The room was creative, and well done. The front desk person was helpful and nice. For a small "mom and pop" operation this room was one of the better setups I have seen. They have an immersive experience and the puzzles are nice without a padlock in sight (for the room we completed). Con: My issue was with the person in charge of issuing clues for our room - while he was friendly, he kept interrupting us to offer unsolicited clues. Twice he interrupted to "help" with a puzzle that we had already figured out how to do, but took some time to actually read and get the pieces in place. Each time we were interrupted, it stopped others in our party from finishing puzzles they were in the middle of and set us back a considerable amount of time. This killed the experience and made me want to walk out on the spot. I try to beat the best time for a room whenever possible and with somebody like him in charge of giving clues, it would be impossible. I didn't catch his name, but if I do ever go back and get one glimpse of that guy, I'll just turn around and leave. TL:DR- the rooms are well done, but ignore the overly helpful "clue giver" - he will ruin your experience. read more

I had applied to work here, I hadn't scheudled an interview with them yet as I am a stay at home mom with very little time during the week to make appointments without kids. This last Thurday at 12:03pm I recieved a rude phone call from them stating I had an interview for when they were calling. As I said I did not schedule (emails and messages to prove it) and thier response was "thanks for letting us know" sarcastically and hung up. I messaged stating I would've liked to "re"schedule for another time but with the rude behavior and lack of commuication I withdrew my applicaiton. Went for my daughter's 18th birthday. Took a group of 5. They had the escape room all to themselves. They had so much fun. Staff was very nice and accommodating, allowing us to go in to a private area for a photos. Staff members were engaging and fun. The entire experience was great. I was fortunate enough to demo one of the rooms (ancient tomb) and take photos and videos in the Murder In London room. I seriously cannot express how much fun it was. I have done SO many escape rooms all over Florida, and this one is really up there. They had not opened to the public yet, and the staff was being trained and working out the tweaks. I was continually impressed by them. They were so welcoming, honest, cautious, and supportive the entire experience. I was there for hours and not a moment was dull. The astrology in the entryway, the history of Mystique, the leaderboard (which we were on!) and the endless hints were greatly appreciated. It was incredible the level of detail. In the ancient tomb room, you are handed a light as you enter, there were real hieroglyphics, real sand, and a freaking tomb!! In the Murder In London room, you feel like you time traveled and are seriously not in an escape room anymore, pretty awesome. And there are so many twists and turns, I feel like I could do the rooms again and still be surprised. Nothing was too hard or too easy that it wasn't a fun game. Definitely a fun place to take your family, friends, or partner. Genuinely so glad I got to meet the workers, owners, photographer and videographer... they are a great bunch of people.
