We had takeout and while the food is nice, its a bit overpriced. Most egregious is the pork belly being 34$ for the serving... the pancakes were overpriced at 50...only galbi Jim was worth the 60$. Maybe uber prices are inflated but wouldn't recommend uber it but maybe try dine in and see if the prices deflate.

Enjoyed the food very much. Both the meat and sides were very flavorful and delicious and staff were lovely. But one issue may make me never go back. Tonight they had 3 TVs playing World Cup shows, and the 4th TV was showing Fox News and some sort of Trump press conference that went on forever. With all the Asian and Hispanic employees and customers in this restaurant, why in the world would this restaurant think it's appropriate to air Fox News/Trump while people are trying to enjoy their dinner? No political shows should be shown in restaurants unless you're trying to offend customers. And who wants to watch Trump while they're eating? This really turned me off and as a result, this may be the first and last time I visit this restaurant.

TL;DR: A clean, quality meal with good service. Wish they had pork or pork and beef combo option for small groups of 2. I came here with a friend after it was recommended to us and wanted to try something new. We ordered the small combo ($109) along with the cold noodles. The service was attentive, and our server made us feel very comfortable. She was kind and welcoming throughout the meal. The meats were good, with texture and flavor as expected. I also enjoyed the cold noodles and appreciated that they accommodated our request to have the chili sauce on the side. My main complaint is that I wish they offered a pork combo for smaller groups like parties of two. The small combo only included beef, which was a bit limiting. Or if they could do a pork and beef combo for small groups. Overall, it was a nice place to try, but not somewhere I would frequent due to the higher price point. We went for lunch, so the restaurant was quiet. The space itself is nice, and I imagine the dinner ambiance would be quite fun.

We had Kelly for our server and she was so sweet and attentive. Don't trust the bad reviews!! As an experienced, serial kbbq eater this place is GREAT. Meat quality was amazing and while there is only default house sauce it comes with you can ask for seasame oil on the side and put salt and pepper in it as another sauce which I prefer a bit more for meats. They also have ssamjang sauce for eating pork but you need to ask for it. We got the medium chosun combo and for 4 people we did have to add an extra meat on top. The brisket?? GAS. So moist, thin, and flavorful. Probably our favorite. Egg was fluffiest I've ever had and delicious.

My favorite KBBQ spot in Virginia! ChoSun Hwaro offers amazing meat quality and Korean dishes at an amazing price! The service here is stellar, and both the wait staff and the owner were so pleasant to talk to. I came here for dinner one evening and we got their ChoSun combo package with four different meats for 4 people, as well as their bibim naengmyeon, corn cheese, beef tartare, and dolsot bibimbap. Everything was amazing quality and so so delicious. The meats were juicy and well-marinated. The portions were great and the combo came with doenjang jjigae and steamed egg (which were both delicious--I loved how they added cheese to the steamed egg). The corn cheese was the perfect sweetness and the beef tartare was also another favorite. Would love to come back!

Honestly a pretty big letdown. I was excited to see this being built up and all the hype but the prices were high, the food was mid, and the service was just slow. First the food, we got one of the combos so the additional marinated kalbi, extra egg soup, deonjang jigae, and seafoood pancake. Everything including the pan Chan side dishes were pretty bland tasting. The dipping sauce was also mid. It cost more than all you can eat but the quality was not great. The meat felt too tender, powdery, and honestly old. I heart the nengmyung was good but I didn't get it. The best thing was the seafood pancake. It was mostly crab sticks but it was extra crispy. I didn't like how they gave very very small glasses for the barley (or barely hah) tea and I would keep having to ask for refills but then they would forget who had tea. Maybe use a different cup? For the price and lack of flavor, I honestly would not be back.

Very yummy Korean bbq place. It has top tier service - the staff grills the meat. The tables are large enough to hold a ton of food but not too large where you feel far away from your friends across the table! It's a clean and spacious restaurant. Surprisingly we didn't smell like Korean BBQ leaving the restaurant!! must have good ventilation :D

Good Korean bbq place that serve decent Korean bbq. They provide good banchan (korean side dishes) and good selection of Korean entrees and appetizers. For a good appetizer sample, try their Assorted Jeon which provide a good selection of seafood, shrimp and beef. Claim is premium beef but IMHO not as premium as ingle. But to be fair, brit as pricey.

    Emma C.

First off, I want to make it clear the banchan is NOT unlimited. I understand that some places may charge for refills but it's my personal pet-peeve when that's not mentioned upfront or on the menu. Because then it results in a case where I'm cut off not even half-way through the meal and have nothing refreshing or acidic to cut through the heavy meat which sucks. The food was great, good quality meat and I enjoyed the banchan (maybe too much? We were cut off after requesting refills thrice --portions were pretty small each time though). However the service was subpar. Aside from being told we couldn't get anymore refills, every time we asked our server a question or made a request he would just nervously laugh. In addition, after nervously laughing he wouldn't answer. My mom asked if there were any additional sauces and he awkwardly laughed, cooked the meat, but didn't answer. She also asked if we could have a refill of the green onions (for the first time) and he nervously laughed, said nothing and never brought more out so we assume that meant no. Then 10 minutes later the table next to us got a refill of the green onions. So, the service killed the night for us but the food was really good. Overall, for such an expensive meal, having no side dishes was disappointing and unfortunately my family and I left the restaurant still slightly hungry.

An a la carte/combo only kbbq spot, serving quality, premium meats - all very juicy and tender! But, given that this spot is more of an upscale kbbq restaurant, they can also give you a run for your money if you're not careful with how much you order... Although their meats were all delicious, I was a huge fan of their banchan and seafood pancake, which was thin and crispy. Loved to snack on pieces in between cooking meats :) The bulgogi tower was an interesting one... works as a standalone ngl, and also comes with the soup, glass noodles and onion which was pretty neat. For a Friday night and for a large group (9 people) we made a reservation ahead of time, and they were able to accomodate us right away with no wait. Again for a Friday night, it's not too rowdy and not super busy. Service was also very quick! Now, not a spot I would frequent, but would def come here for special occasions!

My husband doesn't like the marinated meats that he associates with k-bbq. I convinced him to try this place with the promise to not get marinated meats. The accompaniments just kept coming once we placed our order. What I really appreciate is the big bottle of water for the table. You fill up your cup as needed, no waiting on someone to stop by. The waiter who prepared our food was nice, explained what he was doing, offered refills of any of the sides, and was just super pleasant all around. The bathroom was clean, the restaurant itself is a big open space and also very clean. Great prices for bottled beer ($4)! I thoroughly enjoyed the meal even if I couldn't have marinated meats - it was a good compromise and I'm glad we got to go!

If you love high quality meat and amazing service then ChoSun Hwaro will definitely MEAT and exceed your expectations!! Very typical kbbq vibes with kpop playing in the background. I like that their ventilation hood goes all the way down to the grill to prevent too much smoke when cooking. The meat quality is exceptional and I like the combo set options! Our server was soooo nice too!! Would definitely come back even if it isn't AYCE!

    Sallie W.

The service was good, they cook the meat for you. Although I really rather to cook my own food at kbbqs. The meat quality is okay. The seasoning on the meats that were season ruined the taste of the meat IMO. But the meats that weren't seasoned were not tender. Overall, the food quality is okay.

Food was a mixed bag. We started with the yuk hae and mandu, which were solid but not particularly memorable. A note for the mandu was that it came out soggy and sat in water which was a bit disappointing for the price point. The meat quality was excellent though, with great marbling throughout the meal. The banchan leaned lighter in seasoning than I'm used to, but the broccoli and marinated quail eggs were standouts. I also appreciated the variety of salts served alongside the meats. My favorite was the volcanic salt! Service was where things fell short. We felt rushed or almost transaction for most of the meal, and it seemed like closing duties took priority over the guest experience. Tea refills took a while, banchan refills had to be requested multiple times, and there wasn't much guidance throughout the grilling experience. We had to ask what cuts we were eating and what each salt was. At this price point, I expect a little more storytelling and attention to detail. The grill also ran extremely hot, making it easy for some cuts to cook past our preferred temperature and constant smoke blew into the middle seat's face. A few tips: don't wear your nicest clothes because the ventilation isn't on the same level as Seoul Prime or Ingle. Make a reservation if you want a grill table, and don't be afraid to ask for banchan refills!! Would I come back for Korean BBQ? Probably not. I'd personally choose Seoul Prime or Ingle. That said, I saw several main dishes that looked promising, and I'd be open to giving the restaurant another shot. The foundation is there, but for the price and the hype, I think the overall experience needs a bit more refinement.

The restaurant itself is cozy, clean, and welcoming, while the service felt warm, genuine, and comforting, almost like dining in someone's home.
