The service was ok and quick. The meat is pricey and doesn't get you full. There is a lot of seating and screens inside.

I could easily write a 10 page essay on Chosun Hwaro being the best Korean BBQ with high-quality meats, friendliest service, and a lively atmosphere! Unlike other KBBQ spots, it's not AYCE. Instead, you order combos or a la carte meats, which highlights the quality of what you're getting! For our meal, we ordered a feast of the Chosun Hwaro Combo (Medium), Baekdusan bulgogi, japchae, and bibim naengmyun. The meat quality here is extremely PREMIUM and every bite was super juicy, tender, and packed with flavor! I cannot stop thinking about the Baekdusan bulgogi because it was truly a savory MEAT MOUNTAIN. Our kind server gave us a pro tip to mix the sauce with rice. That completely changed the dish for me! The sauce soaking into the rice made it unbelievably rich and satisfying. I loved that the combos come with steamed egg and soybean paste stew, which were comforting sides alongside all the grilled meat and ban chan (kimchi, radish, etc) already at the table. As for my noodle dishes, I usually never order japchae, but I did and this one ended up being the best japchae of my life. It was PACKED with so many flavorful meat and vegetable toppings. To finish the meal, we got bibim naengmyun, which is my favorite Korean cold noodle dish. It was so refreshing, chewy, and the perfect way to balance out all the grilled meats. Between the amazing high-quality meats, entrees, and thoughtful service, Chosun Hwaro was a memorable meal and definitely a spot I'd return to whenever I'm craving delicious Korean BBQ in Virginia!!

This is my favorite KBBQ spot of all time. Every person that has served us has given us an amazing experience and conversations. This is the pinnacle of meat quality from any Korean barbecue I have ever been to. (I grew up eating the kbbqs around center and DMV so I will stand on this take). The inside of this place also looks like a club and aesthetically pleasing to me. If you're looking for a fun time at the highest of high quality, come to CHOSUN.

TL;DR: A clean, quality meal with good service. Wish they had pork or pork and beef combo option for small groups of 2. I came here with a friend after it was recommended to us and wanted to try something new. We ordered the small combo ($109) along with the cold noodles. The service was attentive, and our server made us feel very comfortable. She was kind and welcoming throughout the meal. The meats were good, with texture and flavor as expected. I also enjoyed the cold noodles and appreciated that they accommodated our request to have the chili sauce on the side. My main complaint is that I wish they offered a pork combo for smaller groups like parties of two. The small combo only included beef, which was a bit limiting. Or if they could do a pork and beef combo for small groups. Overall, it was a nice place to try, but not somewhere I would frequent due to the higher price point. We went for lunch, so the restaurant was quiet. The space itself is nice, and I imagine the dinner ambiance would be quite fun.

We had takeout and while the food is nice, its a bit overpriced. Most egregious is the pork belly being 34$ for the serving... the pancakes were overpriced at 50...only galbi Jim was worth the 60$. Maybe uber prices are inflated but wouldn't recommend uber it but maybe try dine in and see if the prices deflate.

My favorite KBBQ spot in Virginia! ChoSun Hwaro offers amazing meat quality and Korean dishes at an amazing price! The service here is stellar, and both the wait staff and the owner were so pleasant to talk to. I came here for dinner one evening and we got their ChoSun combo package with four different meats for 4 people, as well as their bibim naengmyeon, corn cheese, beef tartare, and dolsot bibimbap. Everything was amazing quality and so so delicious. The meats were juicy and well-marinated. The portions were great and the combo came with doenjang jjigae and steamed egg (which were both delicious--I loved how they added cheese to the steamed egg). The corn cheese was the perfect sweetness and the beef tartare was also another favorite. Would love to come back!

Honestly a pretty big letdown. I was excited to see this being built up and all the hype but the prices were high, the food was mid, and the service was just slow. First the food, we got one of the combos so the additional marinated kalbi, extra egg soup, deonjang jigae, and seafoood pancake. Everything including the pan Chan side dishes were pretty bland tasting. The dipping sauce was also mid. It cost more than all you can eat but the quality was not great. The meat felt too tender, powdery, and honestly old. I heart the nengmyung was good but I didn't get it. The best thing was the seafood pancake. It was mostly crab sticks but it was extra crispy. I didn't like how they gave very very small glasses for the barley (or barely hah) tea and I would keep having to ask for refills but then they would forget who had tea. Maybe use a different cup? For the price and lack of flavor, I honestly would not be back.

We had Kelly for our server and she was so sweet and attentive. Don't trust the bad reviews!! As an experienced, serial kbbq eater this place is GREAT. Meat quality was amazing and while there is only default house sauce it comes with you can ask for seasame oil on the side and put salt and pepper in it as another sauce which I prefer a bit more for meats. They also have ssamjang sauce for eating pork but you need to ask for it. We got the medium chosun combo and for 4 people we did have to add an extra meat on top. The brisket?? GAS. So moist, thin, and flavorful. Probably our favorite. Egg was fluffiest I've ever had and delicious.

Good Korean bbq place that serve decent Korean bbq. They provide good banchan (korean side dishes) and good selection of Korean entrees and appetizers. For a good appetizer sample, try their Assorted Jeon which provide a good selection of seafood, shrimp and beef. Claim is premium beef but IMHO not as premium as ingle. But to be fair, brit as pricey.

    Pork bellyyyyy

AMAZING quality of meat. But even more so - amazing service. You want to ask for Kelly!! Kelly is legit the best cook and server. Brought my family here for dinner and literally the very next day I brought my friends as well. Ordered the large combo #2 with an extra order of pork belly. If you want the same experience as I am commenting you want to ask for Kelly man. Trusttttt.

    Emma C.

First off, I want to make it clear the banchan is NOT unlimited. I understand that some places may charge for refills but it's my personal pet-peeve when that's not mentioned upfront or on the menu. Because then it results in a case where I'm cut off not even half-way through the meal and have nothing refreshing or acidic to cut through the heavy meat which sucks. The food was great, good quality meat and I enjoyed the banchan (maybe too much? We were cut off after requesting refills thrice --portions were pretty small each time though). However the service was subpar. Aside from being told we couldn't get anymore refills, every time we asked our server a question or made a request he would just nervously laugh. In addition, after nervously laughing he wouldn't answer. My mom asked if there were any additional sauces and he awkwardly laughed, cooked the meat, but didn't answer. She also asked if we could have a refill of the green onions (for the first time) and he nervously laughed, said nothing and never brought more out so we assume that meant no. Then 10 minutes later the table next to us got a refill of the green onions. So, the service killed the night for us but the food was really good. Overall, for such an expensive meal, having no side dishes was disappointing and unfortunately my family and I left the restaurant still slightly hungry.

An a la carte/combo only kbbq spot, serving quality, premium meats - all very juicy and tender! But, given that this spot is more of an upscale kbbq restaurant, they can also give you a run for your money if you're not careful with how much you order... Although their meats were all delicious, I was a huge fan of their banchan and seafood pancake, which was thin and crispy. Loved to snack on pieces in between cooking meats :) The bulgogi tower was an interesting one... works as a standalone ngl, and also comes with the soup, glass noodles and onion which was pretty neat. For a Friday night and for a large group (9 people) we made a reservation ahead of time, and they were able to accomodate us right away with no wait. Again for a Friday night, it's not too rowdy and not super busy. Service was also very quick! Now, not a spot I would frequent, but would def come here for special occasions!

Very yummy Korean bbq place. It has top tier service - the staff grills the meat. The tables are large enough to hold a ton of food but not too large where you feel far away from your friends across the table! It's a clean and spacious restaurant. Surprisingly we didn't smell like Korean BBQ leaving the restaurant!! must have good ventilation :D

The tacos here are a must try! The Taco El Vis is a tribute to the King himself. It's a unique taco I've never seen anywhere else and is smoky bacon, peanut butter, sweet and sour habanero and smoked crema. It might sound odd but it all works together perfectly for a unique and very enjoyable taco. The Sharp Dressed Man is also enjoyable but not quite as unique as El Vis. It has homemade smoked brisket, homemade queso, pico, and crema on a corn tortilla. The sides are worth a try as well. The plantains are perfectly seasoned and freshly fried. The black beans are also hot and fresh though I don't think we got the cojita and pickled onions Drinks are also a hit here. The Tommy's margarita is a tasty basic margarita while the Al Pastor margarita has mezcal, rum, pineapple and smoke bitters for a unique and enjoyable smoky taste. Service is very friendly here and they have a record/music theme with amps in the back and classic rock hits playing. They have a few shuffleboard tables and a vintage Golden Tee machine if you want to play some golf. This place isn't cheap (welcome to Mosaic) but it's an enjoyable spot with tasty food/drinks and awesome service and I'll come here again.

You see, sometimes the quality does matter and quantity is something that is overrated. Meokja Meokja demonstrates that at times quality trumps quantity in Kbbq. The cuts of the meat were all very fresh. I especially enjoyed the beef brisket. It was very tender. A lot of the times at AYCE Kbbq, the beef brisket can be quite dry. Not the case here. The waitress cooked all of our food, which is something I haven't truly appreciated in a while. It does make the food a bit more enjoyable when I don't have to do all the work. This restaurant is not super big. It was already borderline packed despite that we went there right when it opened. My friend told me there is one time they waited almost an hour at 9PM. So I would definitely get here early to avoid a long wait. While I had always been a loyal fan of AYCE Kbbq, I have found myself over the recent years slowly being tipped over towards the a la carte territory. Meokja Meokja has been the tipping point that finally swayed me over. The price here is about the same as AYCE, but with better quality, and I don't feel like trash after finishing the meal. I have a food allergy, and whenever I order, I always let the cashier know. At most locations, the staff will notify the kitchen, and they take extra care to ensure items containing my allergen do not touch my plate, including changing their gloves when preparing my order. While I know there is always a small risk of cross-contamination anywhere, the BBQ is so good that I willingly take precautions and come prepared just in case. Unfortunately, the staff at this location seemed not to care at all. As I waited for my order, I watched them touch the food of multiple different orders using the exact same pair of gloved hands (e.g., they did not use utensils). Even if I didn't have an allergy, I found it to be gross. When I suspected they were about to prepare my food, I politely asked them to change their gloves. I received an audible huff and an eye roll in response. When I asked a question about how they seasoned their fries, they acted as though I was a massive inconvenience even though I was literally the only customer in line at that moment. Finally, when the employee went to open my food containers to verify the order, I had to stop them and say I could do it myself, as I no longer trusted that that staff member's un-changed gloves wouldn't contaminate my food boxes. I left feeling so frustrated. Management should retrain this location's staff on basic food safety and customer service, particularly of those with allergies.

Food was a mixed bag. We started with the yuk hae and mandu, which were solid but not particularly memorable. A note for the mandu was that it came out soggy and sat in water which was a bit disappointing for the price point. The meat quality was excellent though, with great marbling throughout the meal. The banchan leaned lighter in seasoning than I'm used to, but the broccoli and marinated quail eggs were standouts. I also appreciated the variety of salts served alongside the meats. My favorite was the volcanic salt! Service was where things fell short. We felt rushed or almost transaction for most of the meal, and it seemed like closing duties took priority over the guest experience. Tea refills took a while, banchan refills had to be requested multiple times, and there wasn't much guidance throughout the grilling experience. We had to ask what cuts we were eating and what each salt was. At this price point, I expect a little more storytelling and attention to detail. The grill also ran extremely hot, making it easy for some cuts to cook past our preferred temperature and constant smoke blew into the middle seat's face. A few tips: don't wear your nicest clothes because the ventilation isn't on the same level as Seoul Prime or Ingle. Make a reservation if you want a grill table, and don't be afraid to ask for banchan refills!! Would I come back for Korean BBQ? Probably not. I'd personally choose Seoul Prime or Ingle. That said, I saw several main dishes that looked promising, and I'd be open to giving the restaurant another shot. The foundation is there, but for the price and the hype, I think the overall experience needs a bit more refinement.
