I have yet to purchase anything from the store (they have an in-house tailor, sell Middle Eastern clothing and jewelry), but I go to see Prarthana twice a month. Her hand is steady and threading is virtually painless. She takes walk-ins as well as appointments, but prefers cash only. Her prices for upper lip has increased since 2011 to $5. Eyebrows are also $5. She is kind enough not to ask for tips, which is refreshing. read more

Literally the best eyebrow place I've been to so far. Very affordable and quality work.

Backlick road has a bunch of small boutiques such as this one that have clothing, services (i.e. threading and waxing), and other items relating to central Asian beauty. I have been to Sonia Jewelers and Asian Boutique, but MZ wins! I have been coming to MZ for a couple of months, and I always leave satisfied. I try to go on a day when Janu is working because she always does an amazing job with threading and is super friendly. My eyebrows are really thick and grow back abnormally sometimes, but she always fixes it and does a super job. Not to mention, she's really quick and very friendly. I went today and my eyebrows are on fleek! There's also another young lady (I sadly don't know her name) who's really sweet and also does a great job. I think she's there on Wednesday's? I love walking into MZ boutique and seeing all the Afghani clothes. Even though I'm not Afghani, it's really nice to see how similar the culture is to my own, and the dresses and such are beautiful. I'm sure anyone who buys from here are impressed and satisfied. I always feel comfortable. Unless MZ boutique closes down (God forbid that it does) I don't see myself going any place else! With all that said, I give this place 3.5 stars for two reasons. One being that depending on the day, especially Friday afternoons, the wait for threading can be really long and they only have one woman in the back threading. Also, the woman who's responsible for ringing you up can be really rude sometimes, and always has music or the tv on or is talking on the phone and you have to get her attention to pay. As far as I can tell, she seems to be the person in charge but she's the least welcoming employee there. Even though I am courteous to her, she doesn't always reciprocate. If you're really particular about your eyebrows (if you're brown you know what I'm talking about ;)), I would highly recommend coming here. I went here today and was threaded by sangita. I must say this was probably the worst threading experience of my life!! First of all I mentioned to her that I was in a bit of a hurry but she kept talking instead of threading me and I had to politely remind her multiple times that I was in a rush. Then she decided mid threading that she needed to take a phone call and after a good five minutes I had to remind her again that I was in a hurry. Secondly instead of using hand sanitizer she just decided to roll on this glove on her hand and it stank. I mean gloves naturally have this glovy plastic smell but being on my face so close to my mouth and nose it was uncomfortable to smell that. Third she had no idea what she was doing. I've been getting threading done since I was 14. She first chose a thread that would only scratch against my skin but I couldn't feel any hair being plucked. Finally I had to stop her and ask her to use sharper thread because my face was hurting from the thread scratching against it multiple times and hair not getting plucked. Then she would jump from area to area then go back haphazardly all over my face. Finally she switched thread and I could feel hair getting somewhat plucked but my face was half irritated already due to the scratching from the past half hour. She stopped multiple times and told me that she was finished and handed me the mirror to look at and I would have to point off the entire sections she had left undone. Then she would attempt to work on those switched back to the other thread which again started scratching my face and again left hugs chunks of hair behind. After another 45 minutes or so of struggling to explain to her that she now needed to pluck above the eyebrow now above the lip I walked out of the chair. However even though I explicitly showed the clerk my half done face and all the redness forming on my face she proceeded to charge me the full amount, asked me how much I wanted to tip and said I can come back tomorrow. No thank you I said I don't believe I want to return for this torture and I left this establishment hoping to never wish this upon my worst enemy. I sit here now with an ice pack on my prickly face hoping that no one notices the hair on my chin because they're distracted by the red blotches of missing skin. read more

If you want really good eyebrows then Saima at MZ fashion is the best person, she is super fast and her work is excellent. There are other options also available in the area but I believe Go to MZ fashion and getting your work done by Saima is the best deal. Visited MZ fashion for my threading but got to know that Saima has left the place and moved to some salon, but fortunately I got her number from there which is 703-625-0049 and people can easily contact her visit her new work place. OMG I LOVE THIS PLACE!! Janu always does my eyebrows very nice. She is a sweet, kind, and friendly person. It's cheap and you won't regret coming here. I did waxing for one year it ruined my eyebrows one was shorter and thicker than the other one. Janu fixed my eyebrows and I have been doing my eyebrows for the past 8 months. I came here randomly after I let my brows grow out entirely too much. Got my upper lip and brows done SO fast I was actually surprised. Usually I'm sitting through torture with the upper lip, but I was in and out in less than 10 mins. Wonderful experience at MZ Fashion, i went there for the first time, got my eyebrows and upper lips done in 10 dollars 6 for eyebrows and 4 dollars for upper lip, Saima was super good and fast. I would recommend that if u are going there get ur threading done by saima she is the best. read more

$6. The price is great for threading and this place gets busy in the weekend. I am disappointed that the last two visits were rushed. (I frequently visit this place and tip at least $4 every time.) That first rushed visit was understandable bc other people were waiting but the most recent visit had only me at the store. The girl who did my eyebrows didn't even really listen to my request to keep my brows from being shaped too thinly as I just needed minor grooming at the bottom of my brow (for little strays). She just brushed me off saying, "Ok Ok." And then did her own thing. It was thinned a lot- she also threaded on the top of my brow which i had said was not necessary. (Maybe she forgot?) She was to fast to stop/remind. I'm going to find someplace else to go regularly, but for those of you reading my review, this place has a low price-almost half any other establishment. They are good when they take the time to personalize their service, if you feel like taking the chance. SIGH. I'll probably come back only if I'm in a serious pinch for time.
