Firstly, your server needs know the menu. I asked if the Orange chicken was breast meat, she said yes, then when she served it to me.. She said, it's dark meat is that okay? I said no, but she just stood there. So my husband said he would eat it. I then heard her phone ring and she took her hair down and fluffed it right at the counter, ewww gross, then started dust more with her hair and then when over and got her Dodgers hat, fixed her hair so more and then start her face chat When it was time to get our check, the server was so busy talking to her boyfriend on her phone ( I'm guessing from all the primping) she forgot all about us. Tokyo at Siam is located in a small corner of an intersection. Parking is limited BUT they do have drive thru in case you want to order and ahead and pick up your order without getting out of your car! The owner is very friendly. The tiny restaurant is clean and also with limited seating inside. The service dining in was fairly quick. I would opt out for their soda though if you are ordering their lunch special. It was very flat and not good at all. Of course I had to try their Chicken Pad Thai. The sauce is on the sweeter side which I like. The noodles were al dente and the wok flavor was good and ingredients were fresh. My friend ordered the Beef Yakisoba. The soft noodles had good flavor as well. Several items were out of stock when we visited, but what we did ultimately order was hot, fresh, and yummy. The staff apologized immensely for the stock issue, but we didn't mind. Stay far away from this place! Spring roll sauce is really good. Sadly that is where it ends. Unfiltered tap water. Everything tastes and looks Premade and prefrozen from box. Not very authentic all. We had spring rolls, chicken satay, shumai, Korean beef (bulgogi), and cashew chicken (served with no cashews mind you!). Rice had some hard edges like scraped from the bottom. Chicken tastes like it's been sitting in a box too long. Faint taste of preservatives. Ambiance is terrible. One same song played over and over. Oh God! Get me out of here! Don't understand why people patronize this place. They have a steady flow of business but please don't be fooled. It's kind of a dive and I do not recommend dining in. Limited seating. Ive been ordering from this location for over a year and I have yet to be disappointed. The flavor is always spot on and the spice is exactly what I request. On this occasion, it was my first time dining in and the service was on par with the quality of the food. The chef and waitress both asked about the food and were attentive. I'm updated my review to 5 stars because of their service. I have finally had the opportunity to go in. I usually ordered delivery or to go. The owner is so friendly and inviting. The food is delicious. This time around I got the Thai Chicken salad, pad Thai, and yellow curry. The prices have gone up a little bit but it's to be expected they still have great quality of food. The looks can be deceiving from the outside and it's a smaller place but the food is definitely worth the try. They have a good level of spice and you can tell them exactly how you'd like it to be and they will adjust it for you. I'm always about their Thai tea. It's so delicious. This place is so good! Decent Asian food in IL ever since we got here. We've always passed by but never had the time to try it. I got the shoyu ramen, chicken pad see ew, pork tonkatsu, Thai tea, and the sweet sticky rice with mango. Howdy everyone! Had some really good, and some not good at all this evening. Delivery order with delicious cashew chicken, crab rangoon, and a couple very pathetic looking speciality rolls, which were supposed to be the highlight of the meal. Unfortunately, they would prove to be the downfall. The good: cashew chicken and crab rangoon. The flavors were just what I was hoping for. The right amount of heat and sweet with the chicken, followed by the tasty rangoons. The reason for ordering though, was because we couldn't go to our AYCE sushi place this evening. It took me 20-minutes to finally hit the submit button on my order after the $50 price tag. It was going to be worth it though to share some sushi and other with my mate who had also been craving AYCE. I didn't take pictures of the chicken or rangoon. Pretty standard looking. 5 small, but flavorful rangoons, & a single portion of cashew chicken with a small amount of rice included. Wasn't put together any particular way. It certainly wasn't flattering, but still tasted so good. The picture was the green diamond roll and dragon roll. For "speciality" rolls, & at $25 plus tax for both, this left too much to be desired. I could not tell which roll was which, except for a green string that I couldn't tell what it was until I bit into it. Dried or old cilantro turns out. I never expect even close to perfection if ordering sushi delivery, but c'mon. This just looked like no one cared about anything except the money that was earned by hours of my life. We were so hungry and the chicken was so good. My mate though was shocked with the almost $50 price tag after seeing what we had to eat and just what we were presented with, that it wouldn't be justified to just give a business money that isn't even going to try. I do hope for, and I am optimistic about future food here still. Hopefully we'll do it again. read more

Note: if you read my reviews on Thai or Lao restaurants this is why this place is getting a one star. The pad Thai is an essential dish, and this one missed it by a yard stick. Here's a break down of why this dish did not execute. The chicken was dry and had an off odor. There was way too much sauce most likely to cover the dry texture and off odor from the chicken. The noodles were brittle. Nothing fresh or authentic. Couldn't finish the pad Thai here. I don't recommend the pad Thai here or the yellow curry. The yellow curry was watered down, lacking the basic flavorful thick coconut milk that should bring the dish together but did not. Our first time here and we were not disappointed! The owner is delightful. Dining in there are about 7 tables plus counter. Easy location just north of Buckley Rd on Greenbay Rd. Establishment is very bright and clean. Making it even better is a drive thru window for orders you call in and can pick up at the window. Yay! We chose to dine in. We ordered the Mongolian beef dinner with jasmine rice. Plus the Barbecue Korean Beef dinner. Additionally an order of egg drop soup was large enough for two to share. We also had the crispy egg rolls. The portions were large, nicely presented and absolutely delicious. Beef very tender and I was very happy to have the entree presented with just the right amount of onion. Lately other places we've tried have presented a very small amount of beef and way too much onion to fill in what they are chintzing you on. All sweet! The Thai fried rice is fire especially with shrimp. I love their Pad Thai with shrimp and chicken. The pot stickers are dope. The shrimp tempura roll is delicious. The service is always great and they always have my order right on time as I usually do pick up. The location is right near my house so it's only five minutes away. I order hear all the time. A surprisingly good little food joint near the Lovell VA hospital. The owner is super nice and friendly. Lots of food options between Thai, Japanese, and Chinese choices. I've been here 3 times since I started working at Lovell, and overall been pretty pleased. The prices are solid, and the food is tasty. The eggplant deluxe and the drunken noodle were pretty good (spicy though). The sesame chicken was meh... Crab rangoons were delicious. I'll be back not just because it's convenient, but because it tastes good. If you are in the area and craving Asian food, there are definitely worse places you could go to. Overall: 5 stars. Located on Buckley Road in North Chicago/Great Lakes area, you will easily spot the vivid, purple-colored establishment which is Tokyo @ Siam. My party and I were in the area and had a hankering for Thai food so we decided to come to Tokyo @ Siam. This restaurant offers both Thai and Japanese Cuisine. Since I've learned to cook my favorite Thai dishes at home, I usually order a dish I don't cook at home. FOOD I was drawn to the colorful photo of the Golden Noodles Soup and the description of "spicy coconut soup" from the menu so, of course, I wanted to try it out. To my surprise, I got a thick curry-consistency "soup". It was a yellow curry color so I suppose that's why it was called Golden. Anyway, I thought it would be more like a spicy Tom Kha Kai-consistency but it wasn't. The flavor was bold but not well-round and I wish it was lighter in texture. We also had Chicken Larb, which is always good! And also, a refreshingly delicious Papaya Salad. It was my first time trying Iced Thai Green Tea and I enjoyed it! INTERIOR The bright interior welcomes a lot of natural lighting and has a casual lay out. I liked how it was clean and aesthetically pleasing.
