    Papaya salad
    Brenda A.

Great service, yummy food and a great soundtrack. The vibe is really cool and laid back with reggae music and 90s rnb it was nostalgic. The food, we had the lumpia, papaya salad, and pad see ew it came out quickly and was warm and fresh. I saw some complaints about the papaya salad because it seems that folks expected fresh not dehydrated shrimp but it's described in the menu and actually works well in this dish. The spicy level was good on the salad but I could've gone for more heat on the rest of the dishes. The lumpia was crisp and delish, it was just out of the fryer but it wasn't oily at all the dipping sauce was a perfect compliment. The pad see ew was okay, the smoke flavor was there but it lacked a little flavor unfortunately. Overall a great meal, great flavors with smaller portions but definitely worth a visit.

Lumpia (definitely bigger than a cigarette) and Crudo.

Our second time in, and absolutely worth embarrassing ourselves on Yelp with a self-important review, because the 1 stars on this page simply do not make sense. We were running a little late and accommodated with grace. Service was professional and prompt from start to finish. Little touches, like servers pouring our wine, didn't go unnoticed or unappreciated. The first bite of a meal is often the best part, yet somehow, each bite here is better than the last. The balance between acid, heat, salt, and texture is a delicate one, and Na Na has mastered the dance. Dishes feel authentic yet modern, and are just as satisfying to admire at as they are to eat. We ordered way too much (as is tradition) and don't regret a thing. Great selection of Rieslings to settle the palette between dishes, and keep that slow-rolling heat at bay. Vibe is fun, maximalist but not obnoxious. There's a cohesiveness to the place that really sets the tone. Consider passing on this restaurant if you're a butthead.

Right off the bat I need to go be know that we showed up 10 minutes before they closed, unknown to us. The service was still exceptional!! Everything the waiter recommended we ordered and it was all delicious!! The music playing was like they had my play list. The food was all hot, fresh and delicious!! All three of us said we will be back and we definitely will be!

We have many thai restaurants in our hometown area but none like Na Na. It was like we were meant to visit Na Na. After I made the reservation, someone told me about a wonderful restaurant we need to go to. Na Na. Spoke to a Buellton local who also said we should visit Na Na. In a low key strip mall with decent parking. When you walk in, there is a distinct curated vibe. Very cute. Interesting enjoyable music selection. Intentional everything. One can tell thought was put into all the decor down to the water bottles. We were drawn to the table version of Ms Pacman. What a great touch! Then there is the food. It is just next level. The crude was $$$ but every bite was delightful. The hamachi was so fresh and seasoned perfectly. The tangerine chicken was so tasty. The prawns on the pad thai were huge! Everything was so good. The dessert was so refreshing. The only thing I'd say that is a downside is that if your group has a lot of food rules, they may not find something they like. But if you love good food, you will love it!

I am still salivating over the traditional Thai flavors used in all the dishes. We went for a belated birthday celebration around 515 on a weekday. We had a hard time deciding what time to eat because all their dishes looked great. We both agreed the special seared fish appetizer sounded good and went with that to start. The server recommended the steak curry due to the mild spice level and we both prefer yellow curry dishes. We also decided to get pad see ew because my friend had had it before and loved it. For dessert we had a lemon sorbet and banana foster type dessert. I can't remember the exact name of it. We loved both of them! Every dish was amazing, bursting with flavor. I do recommend making a reservation because by 6 it was a packed house and the restaurant is small, but cozy. Both the owners were there and made interactions with us, which is something that is appreciated when going to a restaurant for the first time. Overall one of the best Thai restaurants in the area that I have been to so far. I cannot wait till return.

If you want FLAVOR come over to Na Na Thai! My mom couldn't stop talking about this place after reading about it in Sunset magazine - I just had to try it and wow!! It did not disappoint We got the lumpia, Lon Gung (curry), Pad Thai and Thai tea - everything was flavorful and beautifully plated The pad Thai was topped two massive prawn tails and the curry had the most flavorful sauce and was filled with huge shrimp The Thai tea was not too sweet! Yummy! The atmosphere was vibrant with gorgeous traditional pinks, yellows and oranges - there is also live plants hanging all over - which brings a home vibe If you love Thai food make the drive from your area (we came from orcutt) to try elegant dishes The service was also very wonderful. Our server was very kind, attentive and patient

There are restaurants that announce themselves, and then there are the ones you almost drive past -- the humble storefronts that hide something remarkable inside. Na Na Thai in Buellton is the latter: a small, dimly lit gem tucked into a strip mall that most people wouldn't notice unless someone whispered the secret. For us, that whisper came from a server at one of the valley's most acclaimed restaurants. When we asked where she goes to eat on her day off, she didn't hesitate: "Na Na Thai." That alone said everything. Step inside and the space shifts your mood instantly. It glows with a soft red-pink hue -- romantic but unpretentious -- like the warmth of a lantern on a quiet night. A few tables, a little bar, a hum of music that can range from reggae to contemporary pop, and an energy that feels alive without trying. It's intimate, vibrant, and confident in its simplicity. The story behind Na Na Thai is just as intriguing. The chef-owner, Nick, isn't Thai by birth but by passion. He studied in Thailand, immersed himself in its street-food culture, and brought that mastery back to the Santa Ynez Valley. What he's created here is something few manage -- true Thai street fare elevated to fine-dining precision without losing its heartbeat. The Pad Thai with king prawns is a perfect example. Each prawn arrives shell-on, head and all, caramelized by the wok's high flame. You can taste the fire, that fleeting char that marks authentic Thai cooking. Crack the shell, and it releases this deep, savory perfume -- the kind that reminds you that real flavor isn't timid. The noodles balance spice, sweetness, and crunch like a symphony. Every bite builds, layers of heat and citrus and umami, all dancing across the palate. Then there's the curry with tofu and pineapple -- bright, creamy, a harmony of contrasts. The tofu is tender, never rubbery; the pineapple, sweet but grounded in spice. It's the sort of dish that tastes both comforting and adventurous, the kind you finish slowly just to make it last a little longer. Their daily fried-rice special is another quiet standout, constantly changing, always freshly imagined. Even the small plates here feel purposeful. The fresh rolls are tightly wrapped, full of crisp lettuce, basil, and bean sprouts, with tofu that actually holds its texture. Dip them into the house-made spicy peanut sauce, and it's immediately clear -- nothing in this kitchen comes from a jar. The sauce is layered, warm, fragrant, and alive with real ingredients. One of the most admirable things about Na Na Thai is that they don't allow substitutions -- not out of pretension, but respect for the recipe. Each dish is composed like a piece of music; change one instrument, and the song falls apart. The spice here isn't about bravado but balance. It builds slowly, keeps you in the moment, makes you taste rather than just eat. It's immersive -- the kind of spice that wakes you up and invites you to trust the chef. Dessert is equally thoughtful. The banana fritters arrive warm, crisp, and tender all at once, paired with a scoop of house-made ice cream -- smooth, creamy, and made that very morning. Together they're simple, nostalgic, and deeply satisfying. Service follows suit: warm, conversational, and genuine. Everyone seems happy to be there, proud of what they're serving. It's the sort of place where the team feels like family -- smiling, laughing softly, weaving around each other with ease. You get the sense that no one's rushing, yet everything moves right on cue. Na Na Thai isn't trying to impress you with luxury. Its elegance is quieter than that -- found in perfect timing, in restraint, in respect for flavor. The lighting is low, the space compact, the focus entirely on the food. You can come here for a romantic dinner for two or gather a few friends in a booth for six; either way, the experience feels personal. This little restaurant could have easily blended into the backdrop of Buellton's plaza life, but instead it stands out as one of the valley's most inspired kitchens -- a testament to craft, culture, and curiosity. Everything here invites you to slow down, taste carefully, and simply trust the chef. Because once you do, Na Na Thai proves that extraordinary food doesn't need fanfare -- just passion, precision, and a place brave enough to keep it simple.

What an epic dinner. I was at the bar and by myself. It was a great spot. I could actually look into the kitchen and watch the chef run the show. His team was extremely tight, laughing working hard and putting out some killer food. The front of the house staff was spot on. Working as a team, they gave me an incredible experience of wonderful service with a smile. Every single dish was a winner. This privately owned small restaurant company is run by a professional team that expects perfection from themselves. I have not had anything but an exceptional experience at every one of their establishments.

Hidden Thai gem in the middle of Santa ynez valley! My girlfriends and I wanted an Asian fix during our girls weekend. We found this on Yelp and were intrigued by the reviews. Inside was very Thai decor almost Valentine's Day theme. A lot of red and pink. I'm honestly amazed at how the food was because I expected it to be like 2/5 quality based on the usual demographic. We ordered Tom kha soup 5/5 Khao soi 4.5/5. Can never go wrong with a curry chicken noodle Fried rice 4.5/5. We didn't prefer the sausage in it. Spring rolls 5/5. Thin and crispy but very flavorful Thai tea 2/5. Had to send it back because it tasted unusual with the coconut milk. Overall the heat on these dishes were pretty good and everything tasted w great flavors. The service was good but as the only Asians there, we could feel a vibe. Plenty of street parking. May return if we're ever back here again!

Excellent cuisine! My sister and I dined here on January 28, 2026, and the food was absolutely outstanding. Every dish we tried was delicious, and we can't wait to return. Our favorites were the lumpia, cashew chicken, and the hibiscus granita--each one was truly exceptional. The ambiance didn't disappoint either! So cozy and great vibes! A special thank you to Travis, Jordon, and Nick for such an over-the-top experience. Your team is warm, welcoming, and genuinely hospitable. We felt so well taken care of and look forward to coming back soon!

I have come to this place twice and really love it. The atmosphere is beautiful and the dishes are so special. The first time I went in I tried a dish my mom nor I cared much for, the owner came over and was very attentive and explained the flavor profiles which we just weren't familiar with. We didn't ask for a substitute dish but she wanted us to try something else so brought us out another to try something she thought we would like. Great customer service! The banana dessert is fantastic and a must have. The crispy rice salad was also amazing. I went last week on my lunch break with a group of friends and we all are still talking about it. The dipping sauce on the lumpia is a flavor bomb of goodness. I cannot wait to be back!

At first impression I should have known- it was lunch time and empty- you have to self order and navigate their kiosk- no help with two kids and still ask for a tip. There was one younger girl with dark hair in the cluttered kitchen/drink area who didn't even acknowledge us- just went to the back and started rummaging. A second lady showed up and started preparing our sushi order. At that point I noticed the dirty tables and lack of service so decided to change my order "to go." I stood there trying to get their attention and was finally acknowledged. The lady who seemed to be in charge was handing out cash to another younger lady who came in (weird asf too). I finally get my order and bring it home. The nigiri was poorly cut- but edible. My poke bowl had a small amount of tuna that tasted sour and has signs of cooking through citrus, imitation crab, and seaweed salad (extra cost), then I see a whole romaine end, browning and cut up under that making the bulk of the bowl, followed by rice. Nothing like the picture at the kiosk. Then as I try to mix things up for a bite (I am starving at this point) I see a dark black hair. Needless to say I was extremely disappointed and unable to eat my food. I called to let them know and the younger lady who was there said she would let the owner know after sitting down and looking at all the food that was wasted. I decided to call back and ask for a refund. At that point, the younger lady kept repeating what I was saying, as she was relaying the information to what sounded like to be the owner. She told her to tell me that I needed to go back with the food. I let her know that I was unable to do that right now as I had two little kids who needed to nap- that's why I came home. She said she couldn't do a refund- until I went there with the food and my card. I was also told to refrigerate this food- are they going to use it?!? Smh. Ultimately I am out $40, and no lunch. I will never return or recommend to anyone. I'm thinking the reviews are for the teas- which I didn't try.

The owner uses authentic imported fresh Thai flat rice noodles, the best rices, all ingredients are fresh and well prepared (meat proteins never tough) and their natural meaty flavors come through well. With food costs soaring since...well, you know when...the owner and cooks still come through with generous portions of delicious favorites.
