We went to Bar Le Cote for my wife's birthday and it was a wonderful experience. It's a small, intimate venue with a cozy atmosphere and friendly staff. We decided to do the chef's tasting menu with the wine pairing - everything was excellent. Highly recommend all around.

About two weeks ago, I saw this restaurant highlighted on the TV show... California Live. I knew we were going to be visiting over the Memorial Day weekend so I booked a reservation. I am so glad we did. It's a small place right off the main square. It is a great little town in a wonderful wine country on the Central coast of California. This restaurant does complete justice to the local wines, great seafood, and local produce. The service was excellent... The ambience, casual and welcoming... But the food was the star. We had delicious appetizers and seafood entrées. It is definitely the place to go in Los Olivos. Even if you're staying in Santa Barbara, or Solvang or any of the other quaint Little towns in the Santa Ynes Valley . Go and enjoy.

Visited on a Sunday afternoon and was able to grab a table inside. Service was very friendly and prompt! Great menu selection where it wasn't overwhelming but enough items to choose from. Favorite item ordered was the uni - so yummy and definitely recommend!

Great food, service, and ambiance! The flavors were strong and intentional. Highlights included the branzino, especially with all the peppers and capers, and the focaccia. I wouldn't get the paella again, though; it felt oddly unseasoned. My other concern: The food was generally highly salty, and I felt like I needed to drink a gallon of water after.

Always have such a wonderful meal here! Whenever we're in Los Olivos, we make it a point to stop by for a meal worth remembering. The space feels cozy and intimate, with a relaxed European wine-bar vibe that immediately makes you want to stay. The servers are always kind, knowledgeable, and patient, taking the time to walk you through the menu and wine selections without ever making you feel rushed. You can truly taste the care that goes into every dish. Everything feels thoughtfully sourced, seasonal, and incredibly fresh. Each plate is beautifully prepared and balanced, making the food just as memorable as the atmosphere. It's one of those places that keeps us coming back every time we're in town.

    Excellent Happy Hour Menu.

Absolutely love this little Seafood spot in the heart of Los Olivos. And with an exceptional Happy Hour. Thanks Roy, Chelsea and Ryan for the stellar service, and perfect food suggestions. Delicious Oysters paired with Storm Sauvignon Blanc. Fried Chicken Sandwich, so flavorful and juicy, and topped with tasty Anchovies. We'll definitely be back for their Seafood Dinner Menu.

Second visit to Bar Le Côte and it was a delicious dinner experience for a group of 4. The first time I visited was during a wine tasting day in Los Olivos with friends, and the lunch experience was so good that I knew I had to come back and stop by for dinner before closing out our wine tasting day trip to Santa Ynez. The food here is incredibly refined. Every dish is balanced and focused on clean, locally sourced produce and delicate flavors that really highlight the quality of ingredients. Some of the highlights: Peruvian Scallops with BD's Pixie Tangerine & Mint, which everyone enjoyed (even the non-seafood lovers). These were bright, minty, and fresh. Yellowtail Crudo with pickled beet, fennel, and ajo rosa. This sashimi dish was light, stood out visually, and was slightly tart and sweet. Paella Negra with Hope Ranch mussels, Spanish octopus, squid ink, and bomba rice was savory and really satisfying. The mussels in particular were outstanding: tender, not chewy at all, with a clean savory flavor that almost reminded me of grilled oysters. Brandt Beef New York Strip with chanterelles and hazelnut purée. Rich and perfectly cooked. We also ordered oysters, pan con tomate, peel & eat shrimp (chef's kiss), and the BLC Snack Pack for dessert (chocolate and vanilla pudding with crema batida and candied hazelnuts) that was a great way to close a celebratory dinner and day trip with friends. What I love about this place is that it feels elevated and relaxed. The staff is great, friendly and customer focused. It's the kind of restaurant that surprises people in the best way when they're visiting Los Olivos for wine tasting. I would definitely recommend visiting if you are out wine tasting in this area.

The place is modern and well designed inside. The service was quick and friendly. BLC also partners with the wineries around Los Olivos and we tried their own BLC Solminer orange wine which paired great with all of our food. The food was delicious! We stared off with the pan con tomate which the flavors were there, but the airiness of the focaccia added a different texture than what the usual Cristal Bread would give. I ordered it with the uni butter, but it never arrived. The fries were by far the best fries I've had. Well seasoned, crispy and fluffy on the inside. For the mains we had the fish sandwich and chicken sandwich. The fish was moist and the sink was crisp. The chicken sandwich was delicious, the anchovy on top and the spicy tartar sauce is unexpected for a chicken sandwich but man does it work. It cuts through the heaviness of the fried chicken. The quince crumble was a good way to end our meal. Not too sweet and the ice cream on top balanced the bitterness of the quince.

Second time here and it was incredible again! The service is always impressive and classy. The waiters are kind and professional. The French fries are to die for with a delicious dipping sauce. The oysters were fresh and crisp. The shrimp was decadent (something I've never before said about shrimp!). The branzino was beautiful in a light chili oil seeming sauce. The chicken sando always hits. Lastly, the sticky toffee date cake is a MUST. I absolutely love it here and can't wait to come back. The Solminer orange wine is my go to here.

Having been to Spain a few times, the food here was quite underwhelming. One positive is that they have a happy hour, and on that menu they include the peel and eat shrimp which were fresh and delicious with two dipping sauces. Also on the happy hour menu was the french fries with special BLC seasoning (they said this was basically old base seasoning mixed with tajin). The fries were solid as well. Unfortunately, the famed chicken sandwich was not good at all. The chicken breast was extremely dry and the slaw and sauce did little to help. Also, we ordered the pan con tomate on Rosemary and saffron focaccia. I was extremely confused because this bread did not seem like a focaccia at all! It was sweet and crumbly like a cake. Also, the tomato was like a salsa, I could not taste any olive oil in there at all. Combined, it was bizarre and unappetizing. We ordered the extra Boquerones but they were quite small and I could barely get a hint of that delicious fishy flavor they should have. We ordered some local orange and white wine which were good. Otherwise I would return just for the shrimp and fries as a snack.

Each experience I've had coming here feels like a unique experience! I came with a friend on a Thursday (happy hour all night). It was lovely and I'll be back! The scallop crudo was phenomenal. The service was fantastic and we sat at the bar which was fun to watch the action in the kitchen.

Great atmosphere, outstanding service, unique menu. The food was so good. Went for lunch and had the Finley Farm Lettuces salad and the Pan Con Tomate to start and the Crispy Skin Fish Sandwich. Staff was friendly and attentive.

The initial service sucked. Despite having actual reservations, we had no server for 15 minutes and people who sat after us were immediately served. Seemed like they didn't care that I wanted to order a bottle of wine. The server never even acknowledged our table. This place definitely has Michelin potential, if it wasn't killed by the inadequate Saturday night staff. You're supposed to bring your A game on Saturdays. Anyways, the floor manager picked up the slack and was aided by the hostess. Definitely started off as a 1 star, tell all my friends to avoid the hype type of review, but what brought me back to 4 star was the food. It was THAT good. I am still thinking about those crudos. I also appreciated the wine list; I finally got to try a bottle of something that I've been eyeing. So, in the end, I would definitely come back and hope for better service. They use the inkind App to pay the bill which was new to me, and I got about $70 cash back (on a $400 check) which was pretty cool, and I was able to apply it to another restaurant I visited.

The restaurant decor is nice, though nothing special, with a sizeable patio for outdoor dining. We started with a couple of local wines by the glass. The wine list here is heavily biased towards local wines as one would expect from a wine country restaurant. Kudos for the local focus! The menu here is wine country, farm-to-table and the restaurant even has their own organic farm a short distance away where they source ingredients. For dinner we started with the beet salad special served over a citrus yogurt. For main courses we had the grilled rack of lamb and a quinoa bowl with salmon. Every dish was expertly prepared and delicious. The fruits and veggies were exceptionally fresh being sourced directly. David was our server and coincidentally was our server at a wine tasting earlier in the day. His service and that from the supporting team were professional and friendly. I give this restaurant my highest recommendation!

The positive first: walking in everybody was super friendly and greeted us with a smile, and sat us down right away on the patio since we had our dog with us. We ordered the baked brie appetizer and two glasses of red wine. My husband had the Austin Hope Cab and I had a red blend. I don't remember the brand name. It was a little bit expensive for a glass of wine. I wanna say around $25 but we both were in the mood for a good wine and wanted to treat ourselves. The baked Brie was delicious. Negative: the fish and chips and the service. I was so excited to see fish and chips on the menu because it was halibut. I'm used to cod in fish and chips so of course I had to order since I am a huge halibut lover. The table next to us also said what an amazing meal that was and ordered one to go. We received our fish and chips from not our server and the person dropped the meal and left without asking us if we needed anything. My husband and I looked at the fish and chips and immediately started laughing. It looked like little fish nuggets as opposed to fish! I kind of thought we were being punked. We waited and waited for the server to come by or a manager or some thing and could not get anybody to come talk to us. It took 14 minutes for her to finally come tap on our table and ask if everything was OK. We told her it was not OK and to look at the size of the fish and she said she would go tell the kitchen and asked if we wanted to remake it. At that point, we weren't even hungry anymore. We were just kind of annoyed at the entire situation. She comes back out a few minutes later and says we're going to take it off of your bill. We don't see her for a while and then the manager comes over and says we took it off of your bill. He didn't ask if there's any way to make it right he just said OK anyways and walked away at the end. Being in the restaurant industry for many years, I thought this was pretty offensive. If I were him, I probably would have made another one right away or offered something they are known for like their pizza. So overall, I wouldn't be back. I think there's many other restaurants around there and to be treated like that after how we were served....no thank you!

The vibe was pleasant and a little bit fancy. No lowly brunch menu here--we had raw fish, medium rare steak, and red wine. I suppose not everyone wants all that before dinner. Nella is an attractive restaurant at the Fess Parker Wine Country Inn. The dining room looked charming, but we opted to sit on the patio, which was comfortable and breezy. Service was great, attentive and prompt. We were in and out in an hour, as planned, but we could've lingered longer. The food was delicious, starting with the $9 bread and butter--French baguette with a bright yellow block of salted Bordier butter. The salmon crudo was fresh and silky, finished with Fresno chile, citrus, passion fruit, avocdao mousse, calamansi vinegar, and fresh basil. My favorite dish, though, was the spring salad, a vibrant assembly of Tutti Frutti Farms sugar snap peas, fava beans, kumquats, calamansi pickled red onions, arugula, pecorino, and rosé vinaigrette. I don't typically go for salads without meat, but this one was superb. For our entrées, we shared a Margherita pinsa and the filet mignon. The pinsa was an airy flatbread, topped with San Marzano tomatoes, fior di latte, basil, and sea salt. The prime cut filet was flavorful and satisfying, cooked a tender medium rare and served with yu choy and green peppercorn sauce. We ordered two Italian reds by the glass, which went well with everything, but especially with the steak. The Grosjean Vallee d'Aoste, a Gamay , and the Clos Venturi Vin de Corse "1769," a Sangiovese Sciaccarellu blend. I'd been to SY Kitchen once before and plan to go to whatever restaurant the group is about to open up in Montecito. These people obviously know what they're doing. We had a lovely lunch at Nella Kitchen & Bar and would recommend it to anyone visiting Los Olivos.

The inn leans into the old west aesthetic, but the tavern is just elegant and attractive, with leather furniture, a high vaulted ceiling, and a lot of windows. It was pleasantly bustling on a Friday night, with what seemed like a mix of hotel guests and other visitors. Los Olivos has a population that hovers around 1,000, so this restaurant, like the stagecoach stop, is there to serve travelers. Accordingly, service was first class. There was a full bar with elaborate cocktails and plenty of wine from the area. We ordered two rounds of cocktails, as we planned to drink wine all weekend, and they were all very good. The Vaquero Campfire was a refreshing mezcal drink with pink peppercorn, honey, and charred grapefruit. The Cigars & Horses was a boozy mix of bourbon, yellow chartreuse, and smoked cinnamon. Los Rancheros Vistadores was a pleasantly bitter tequila cocktail, with reposado, amaro, Aperol, and orange olive oil. And the Pinochle Punch was a smooth blend of milk-clarified rye, cognac, and orange. We ordered wines by the glass to go with our entrees, and these were both lovely, too. The Sandlands Lodi Red Table Wine and the Racines Mattei's Cuvée, a Chardonnay that must have some connection to Mattei's Tavern. The food was delicious. We started with a half dozen oysters with mignonette and lemon and Gin's tuna carpaccio, topped with scallion, radish, ginger dressing, and cold-pressed California olive oil. Then we had Mattei's house focaccia, served with cultured butter and herb oil, and the country pâté, with cherry, tarragon, and sourdough. The entrées were both excellent. The Channel Islands rockfish was beautifully cooked, served in a vibrant tomatillo sauce with hoja santa, with sides of roti, grilled avocado, and grilled lime. The Colorado lamb was tender and juicy with a nice spiced crust. It came with couscous, vadouvan, mint yogurt, onion, and dates. For dessert, we shared the affogato: vanilla ice cream, Handlebar espresso. Hard to think of a better way to wind down a big meal. We charged dinner to the room and got $100 through a hotel promotion. This covered some of our drinks. We had specifically chosen this restaurant because we were traveling with our dog and understood that their outdoor seating area was dog-friendly. We were told that the outdoor patio was closed for a private event. Since we had made our reservation more than a week in advance, it would have been helpful if the restaurant had notified us ahead of time so we could have made other arrangements. Unfortunately, we ended up having to leave our dog back at the hotel. To their credit, the hostess did her best to accommodate us and found us a table in the bar area near the fireplace. However, the location wasn't ideal for an anniversary dinner. Guests frequently walked and stood in front of the fireplace directly in front of our table, and at one point other patrons even sat down at our table, making what was supposed to be a romantic evening feel awkward and disrupted. The food itself was excellent, and we genuinely enjoyed our meal. Had it not been for the reservation mix-up and the restaurant's lack of proactive communication regarding the patio closure, this would likely have been a much higher-rated experience. Unfortunately, the service and overall experience fell short of what we expected for such a special occasion.

For my main course, I had the chicken stuffed with goat cheese, served with mashed potatoes, and it was incredible. Every bite was so good--I completely devoured the whole plate. If it were socially acceptable, I would've licked it clean! Thank you for the great service and an amazing meal. I'll definitely be coming back!

The filet was phenomenal -- honestly one of the top three filets I've ever eaten. Perfectly cooked, incredibly tender, and full of flavor. The sides were just as impressive, and the Mud Pie for dessert was absolutely ridiculous in the best possible way -- rich, indulgent, and unforgettable. We went on Sunday night, the day after Valentine's Day, and the place was packed (good thing they take reservations). We'd had an unfortunate experience the night before at a different local restaurant, but despite the crowd, we were seated right away at a great table. The atmosphere strikes that perfect balance: relaxed but upscale, with a retro country steakhouse vibe that feels both classic and comfortable. The staff was outstanding -- attentive, professional, and genuinely welcoming. We also enjoyed a fantastic local cab from Brave & Maiden that paired beautifully with the steak. From start to finish, it was a perfect evening. This place absolutely lives up to its reputation.
