Visited for the first time for dinner. Restaurant has been nicely remodeled since it was a Pho place below. Just be sure you can get up stairs as the restaurant is upstairs. Service was attentive and pleasant. Food was good. Definitely worth trying the chicken satays. My son enjoyed his curry. The ribs and Pad Thai were not quite what we expected but were still tasty. Overall a good restaurant. F&B is a guard gig in Solvang as it's a small town.

Unlike most of the places in solvang, this place is not dog-friendly FYI. Parking is across the street in the public parking lot. I also don't know if they have an elevator here (for the wheel chair crew) since you have to go upstairs to the dining room area. My experience here was great, thank you to the front desk girl with curly hair for making the arrangement to allow our service dog inside since it was raining. We did not go to the dining room area for this reason. We were sat downstairs by the lobby / bar area and the servers brought our food downstairs to us. Ended up ordering a couple items; Shrimp Rolls: 4/5 - the wonton wrap was a nice touch, crunchier than your typical egg rolls. The sweet and spicy side sauce was great too. Chicken Fried Rice: 4/5 - nice and flavorful, maybe a little too salty if you are sensitive to flavor, but overall a great dish Chicken Pad See Ew: 3/5 - My least favored of all the dishes here. Great flavor but it was lacking the sweetness that a Pad see ew usually has Chicken yellow curry: 4.5/5 - Great flavor in this one. Nice and spicy, rich and coconuty. Could use more potatoes :) Pork spare ribs: 4/5 - Not your typical Thai pork spare ribs. I'm familiar with the sweet-sticky ribs that are usually glazed but these were not sticky or sweet by any means. Great flavor still, and the marinade was good with the rice Shrimp Tom Yum Soup: 5/5 - Flavorful and sour, does not serve more than one person unless you're trying to have a tasting lol. They need to offer a pot of this on their menu, very delicious Overall I would definitely come back here, thank you to the bartender at the V lounge for recommending this spot (he said he's been here 4 times in the past month.) Highly recommend ordering the Tom Yum Soup and Yellow Curry here !

Kanok is a bit of a hidden gem in Solvang. There's a bar downstairs with some small seating and the main restaurant is upstairs. They had a pretty good flow of guests so I definitely recommend making a reservation. The service was great, with friendly and attentive staff, the food was tasty and came out pretty quickly. They also have good drink options, including beer, sake, and local wines. We came with a group of six, and they offered to split the bill ahead of time, which was a thoughtful touch and really appreciated (especially since it's not something I usually even ask for). Overall, an, enjoyable experience and love that theirs a new Thai place in Solvang!

Heard someone talking about this place at the Y so had to try it out! Excellent food, excellent service, and great vibe. The owner is so sweet and welcoming and we enjoyed our visit. Try the shrimp rolls!! Soooo good!!

My husband and I visiting Solvang and we decided to eat here at Kanok Thai Cuisine. Food and service were great! Would definitely recommend and we will come back when we visit again.

Nice little spot on the edge of the main Solvang streets. Staff are friendly & food is genuinely solid. Our dishes had just a touch of spiciness and flavorfulz

This place is awesome! I was SO excited to learn we were getting a Thai restaurant in Solvang and I love Tap Thai in Santa Barbara, which Kanok is affiliated with, so I knew this place would be delicious. The menu has the Thai favorites we love and we opted to try a few different options- dumplings, curry, and noodles. Everything was incredible. We were able to get a table right away on a Friday evening. They've decorated the space well. Such a nice ambiance. No dedicated parking but Solvang offers street parking and some lots. My only reason for giving 4 stars is that it took a while to place our order and we ran out of water without any offer to refill our glasses. Hoping the service will be better the next time we go. Highly recommend this spot!

Good Thai food, nothing groundbreaking but good enough. A change from eating baked goods in Solvang. Give it a try!

I was greeted with warm & caring welcome by Mary! Mary asked if everything in the bowl was ok. I ask for no egg which wasn't a problem at all. I ordered Shoyu Ramen with double pork belly with a sprite . I was happy to see Mary, Erica, kiko, and Gyzel again! It's a very warm and cozy to eat there . All the staff are always so kind & friendly. Their price points are great! Their dishes are very high & great quality! Their dishes are so delicious, savory and mouth watering! I didn't have to wait that long , they were on it! Mary & Gyzel always asked me if everything thing is ok, so sweet of them! I also bought another double pork belly shoyu ramen & 3 Chili Bomb Crunch to go. Their presentation of each dishes is beautiful & delicious at the same time! Mary & Gyzel were both so sweet, kind, genuine, caring, super down to earth! They both have very positive upbeat energy about themselves that really radiates! These two are your rarest Diamonds, their shine can never fade! I would love to Thank Kotori Ramen for my absolutely wonderful visit ! I would also especially love to thank Mary & Gyzel for my making my visit so memorable & beautiful!! I'll definitely be back again!! I'll tell all my family and friends to come visit !!

He was excellent--he walked us through the specials, took our orders accurately, and provided fantastic service throughout the evening. The food was outstanding. We started with the Pomegranate Spritz, which was excellent. The bread and butter service with the baguette, chimichurri glaze, and pickled onions was delicious, and we noticed almost every table was ordering it. The New England Clam Chowder soup special was creamy, delicious, and generously portioned, as was the perfectly fried calamari. For our main course, we both had the short ribs, which were fork-tender and paired perfectly with the creamy mashed potatoes. The only disappointment of the evening was that we had noted in our online reservation that we were celebrating our anniversary, but this was never acknowledged during our visit. Despite this minor oversight, we had a great experience and will definitely return the next time we are in Solvang. Please pass along our compliments to George and the kitchen staff.

I expected the angel hair on the side but actually stuffing it in the eggplant, gave it such a depth of flavor, it made me a fan of angel hair. The Salsiccie, oven roasted sausage that comes with 3 was a bit salty for me since it's just over cannellini beans. Having some pasta on the side may cut down on the saltiness.

They let us sit inside the restaurant and a little hidden from everyone else which was perfect because my small dog could be barking every chance she got. Now before I visited, I saw the overall rating on Yelp isn't that great, but I assume it could be something totally unrelated to the flavor of the food itself because the pictures look great to me. And I'm Asian so I know what a good asian food looks like. Well I can tell you, everything we ordered were delicious, no notes! We got the lumpia, calamari, and fried rice. The fried rice is noted as market price so we didn't know how much it would be. I asked what comes with it and it didn't come with steak or prawns so I assumed it would be okayish. Well the fried rice was delicious and big portions with some sausages and fried egg, but holy moly it was the priciest fried rice! Haha $40. It's okay tho, still glad we tried it. The lumpia was yummy, a little on the salty side but very enjoyable. Now the calamari was the winner to me! I think it might be the best calamari I've had. Not only cos the calamari itself was good, not chewy, and crispy on the outside; but also everything else that came with it to cut the richness! I think it's some pickled onions, might be some kimchi too. Just try it! I would love to try the fried chicken also but they're sold out. Next time call them first to make sure they spare you some!

I ordered 3 which was plenty to split with my boyfriend just to get a taste of it. It's personally not my favorite since I think I would prefer a slightly crispier fried dough ball but I'm guessing that would be less authentic. I was glad to try it out so easily! The service was quick. It would have been nice if there were some seating outside--there were 2 benches, but it was pretty limited. It made a lot of sense why everyone was walking around with it!

If you order it to-go, it comes in a little paper boat. The Æbleskiver have a pancake-like texture, and the jam and powdered sugar give it a nice sweetness. I just wish there was a little more jam to go with it! Fun to try, and I liked that an order comes with just three pieces, so it's just enough to sample!

This place is non-descript yet just off the main park downtown, and an easy walk from most of the major hotels in town, or the central parking lot - plus lots of street parking as well. It seems rather small, with one area for bar seating and small tables, plus a larger dining area "next door" to the bar, but I like the bar ambiance, so it may be challenging on busy tourist days. Luckily, I travel on non-busy days and have always had a good seat. The ambiance is great, with a typical, colorfully decorated pub feel with TVs offering an invitation to relax and have a pint - or two! The menu is varied, and I had planned for what I wanted, but when the server/bartender/boss offered the daily special as an option, I quickly jumped at the chance. The special was a queso dip with house-made chips, and I had to try it! Sadly, I also ordered my usual, the Cobb salad. Sadly, because after the "appetizer" arrived, I quickly realized the full consequences of the saying "your eyes are bigger than your stomach!" The dip and chips were plentiful in both, and for me would have made a great meal on their own. But I was committed and managed to finish the salad. On my previous visit, I had the mac 'n cheese and the Cobb salad, along with a Guinness dark! That was sooo tasty as well! The food at this visit was great, and the service was as well. Sam, who is the owner, bartender, server, and jack-of-all-trades, is always friendly, professional, and efficient, no matter how busy it is, and this visit was the only one outside the kitchen. If you're in the area, give them a try! And leave room for dessert - I have yet to do that, but you can learn from my mistakes!

The spicy wings had great flavor--more on the spicy side than "hot," which honestly made them even better and more enjoyable. The bread on the sandwich had the perfect crisp as well, which really brought it all together. And the standout was the spicy melt burger. My friend ordered it medium rare, and it came out perfectly medium rare--juicy, flavorful, and cooked exactly as requested (which doesn't always happen, so that's worth noting). Everything was executed really well, and you can tell they take pride in the kitchen. Easy 5 stars. Would definitely come back.
