Nothing in the area can beat the BBQ from Naamans. Found them first in Ashdown, AR which was worth the drive; and then later when they relocated to Texarkana. It's really tough to make comparisons with other famous barbecue joints so I won't. I ordered two half-pound plates. One plate had four slices of brisket and sides of 'beans with meat' and twice-baked potatoes. The other plate had sliced sausage and pulled pork with cheesy corn and potato salad. The idea was to get a sampler and see what to get when I come back, that is, if I come back. The pulled pork did it for me. Tender, juicy, and a wonderful smoky flavor. The sauces includes their spicy mustard sauce, a standard sauce, and a molasses tasting sauce. More than enough choice for those who prefer wet sauce to dry rub. The sausage was nicely spiced with a decidedly black pepper taste and cut into bite-sized chunks. Brisket is the acid test for a barbecue place and this met the general requirements for me. Moist, tender, slightly fatty. Don't ask me if it was hickory or pecan or sage (Actually I sure it wasn't sage) wood which was used, but it was a pleasant amount if smokiness. Smoky Joe's and Randy's do not stand a chance. Just saying. Wonderful sides and decent prices. If you want a dollar menu meal, go to McDonalds. This IS the real deal. Pay up! read more

Went with family for a bday dinner. Waiter stated tonight was the first night they were offering dry aged steaks. This is rare to find in Texarkana (done correctly). I decided to order the boneless 18oz ribeye. NO. KNIFE. REQUIRED. This is the first time I had experienced dry aged steak. This was melt in my mouth. SO tender! Wasn't able to finish it all, but wow. The rest of the family ordered traditional BBQ, which, is always great and Naaman's, and tonight was no different. This will not be the last time I will get the dry aged steak. But God will forgive you as long as you go here at least once. This place never disappoints, the cheesy corn is awesome too. I stopped here while staying at a nearby hotel. The brisket was so tender that i was able to eat it with a plastic fork. The sausage is as good as it gets. The bbq sauce has that little bit of sweet and little bit of heat. It's just right. They also have a tangy mustard sauce that seems almost like it came from Eastern Carolina. It is also tasty! General: We showed up around 2:00 for lunch. The place was still bustling as it's literally a stone's throw from I-30. So if you're on the road just passing through, it's convenient. Service was fast and friendly - took about 5-7 minutes to get everything together even with the crowd. They take your order and then run out and take it to the truck/kitchen. Then you can either eat in the dining room or take it out, but if you eat in you mostly serve yourself (drinks, "fixins", etc). There are also some shaded picnic tables out front. Food: I ordered the 1/2 lb "meat plate" which is a choice of any two or all one meat. I ordered the brisket and the ribs because I wanted to try both. Should have just gotten the brisket. The ribs were great, but the brisket was phenomenal, really. My husband had the "Red Headed Step Child": pulled pork, brisket, sausage, slaw, and sauce on a bun. We both enjoyed both. We also tried the cole slaw, potato salad, and cheesy corn. The slaw and potato salad are both very creamy, mustardy, and flavorful. The cheesy corn is kind of a corn, pepper, rice, cheese casserole of sorts. Everything was outstanding. We split an order of ribs (some of the best I had ever had)between 2 people we had coleslaw (really good), cheesy corn (I believe there was rice in it) it was good and the beans a little spicy for me but good and we also had the twice baked potatoes again good.. 5 star service and food! Don't recall where I'd heard/read about this place in the last year, but decided to check it out on our bi-annual trip to Texarkana, which has usually involved going out with elderly relatives to a chain or all-you-can-eat catfish. They have relocated to a more permanent spot in a re-purposed gas station just a block north of IH-30 and have a reasonable amount of indoor seating available in addition to the outdoor picnic tables. The two-meat (brisket/ribs) half pound combo served with two sides (slaw and potato salad seemed to be the consensus faves among the group) provided plenty of very-good food. I'd rate brisket above most everything we've had in San Antonio and the ribs among our best ever. Pricing is on par with SA and Austin, but seemed "high" for our local guests. Great food. Most BBQ places I go too I will like one thing but not the other. At Naaman's everything was good, and the brisket was the star. They use Pecan wood. I had brisket and ribs potato salad and beans. Beans had a sweet taste to them and the potato salad was mustard base with dill flavor. Ribs and Brisket were fork tender and both had good flavoring and plenty of good bark. I also sampled some sausage and chicken both tasty as well. Sausage had a little spice to it. BBQ sauce not needed but had a sweet taste as well. I prefer a little bolder BBQ sauce, but overall this place is a winner. Overall barbecue sauce was really good, meat was falling off the bone tender, husband had the brisket sandwich which he enjoyed so much got another one to go. My daughter had the rib sandwich and she said it was also great. I had the rib plate which was really tender but could have used more rub spice however the sauce made up for it.a little disappointed that only 3 ribs came with the 1/3lb of meat plate. We visited this place during the pandemic and had good food. Being from out of town, we went back and went into the dining room that was about half full. We were seated and watched several patrons get seated after us who were all promptly waited on, while we were not. We asked the host walking by who would be helping us and were told it was not his job to know. We got up to leave and suddenly everyone was willing to help and offer free food and immediate responses. We spoke to the manager and they were very apologetic but by that time, it was too late.
