Naan Stop is alright and works when you're in a pinch, but it's not the best Indian in town. I can't blame them, though, since it's hard to keep that amount of food warm and delectable for a long time. However, I just find a lot of their dishes to be watery and lacking in that rich spice and sometimes creaminess that Indian food has. When I have Indian food, I enjoy subtlety and depth of flavor, but I do not like it when things are watery and bland. Food is served in convenient buffet/takeout style dishes that let you sit to enjoy your meal at the indoor/outdoor restaurant seating, or take it to eat at a nearby iv beach. Good fast food Indian restaurant. It comes at a good price as well without the wait of a "real" restaurant. They have boba, smoothie/slurpie drinks which are good. :D They have a few different combos that you can get. My fav is the rice with the chicken marsala, it's very good. However, if you're one to determine what you eat by looking at the food then you would probably turn around. LOL Seriously it doesn't look as good as it tastes. So do not let the look of it fool you. The vegetable samosa is tasty as well, fried. The combos also come with garlic naan, it's sooo good and great to wrap your chicken and rice in. Definitely a decent Indian. The chicken tikka masala as well as the chicken curry are pretty good. Look up their menus so you can get a formula that suits your appetite. I really wish they'd serve just their sauce so I can dip naan in the masala sauce. So good. The people serving you are polite and make your order fast. The place has been remodeled multiple times the past couple years but I don't believe it changed ownership but they definitely changed the people serving. About twenty years ago, when they first opened, The Naan Stop was one of my favorite pit stops. Servings were substantial, the naan complimentary ( as is pretty much standard in Indian restaurants), brown basmati rice, FAIR PRICES. And for basically a fast food Indian street joint, reasonably clean. Today's report is not good. Skimpy watery portions, white denatured rice. A whopping $1.45 for a slice of Naan! And... filthy. There was rat poop on the outdoor table at which I sat. Of course, I removed it, before I ate. Not recommended. If you've a hankering for Indian food, save your shekels for the Himalayan's buffet on lower State. Deep dish naan, and the best lassi this side of Santa Monica. read more

Good spot in town, employees seem very friendly. I had chicken tikka masala, saag paneer, garlic naan bread, and a chai tea. The saag and naan were both very good. Tikka masala was very watery and needed to be further reduced, but flavor was there. The chai tasted like Lipton black tea with milk, and seemed to be missing all the great spices that help to define the chai in chai tea. Our dine-in order was provided in and with styrofoam and plastic dinnerware, which was pretty sad given the restaurant is a few blocks from the Pacific ocean which is home to large collections of plastic waste (actually, I've noticed many restaurants here serve fod in non-biodegradable plastic and don't provide their customers the option to recycle it...pretty sad). read more

I usually get the 16 oz a la carte (chicken curry or chicken t masala) and 2 or 3 garlic naan (each order has 4 slices) to split with a friend. Good place for vegetarians as well. Decent price for a meal. Sauce is a bit watery for my taste. Basically the only Indian food option in IV if you want to satisfy some cravings and can't drive. From the seasoning and flavors, you can tell the food is Americanized and considered fast food (think Chipotle or similar) but take that as you will. read more

I was excited to try this restaurant using Grubhub. I ordered three main dishes which arrived but in small quantity. I was disappointed to know that there was no rice included. I thought that unusual so I called the manager who said yes that's correct. The entrées were not inexpensive and, as I said quite small. I found out about NaanStop when I was look to go get some Chipotle. While walking this spot looked really good and I wondered why I had never seen this place before in Buckhead. Walked and geeked out at all the options got a bowl with Palak Paneer. It was a small slice of heaven. Also love the Naan with Chola. Although I live outside Atlanta, I go to NaanStop at least once every few months. Im excited because now I frequent town more often and that gives me reason to stop. First off, I agree, the food is not bad for a college town Indian fast food joint. However, every one of the three times I have been here I have been disappointed. The older man who runs the place is very cold. I come in friendly, ready for a hearty Indian meal and I get the guy's detestable glare. Each time I asked for a bowl of a spicy chicken dish the old man restricted his server from putting a fair portion of meat into my to-go container (to be had there). As if the verbal language barrier could cover the man's transparent body language and reaction to his employee, he looked back at me as if he knew I was thinking about robbing the place. Although not of the cash in the register, but of the chicken on the other side of the glass. On top of the less than stellar portions and far from cordial atmosphere, the guy uses nothing but styrofoam containers and one-use utensils. Looking to cut costs in everyway, I will avoid Naan Stop for the myriad of negatives it has consistently thrown at me every time I walked through its doors. read more

I will probably never ever go here again. The worst indian food I have ever tasted. I got the one item plate with rice and chicken tikka masala which came with plain naan and my co-worker got the one item plate with rice and spicy coconut chicken masala. The naan was gross, hard, and very dry. The chicken tikka masala was sort of rubbery. The rice was lumpy and I could have sworn I saw a dead bug in the curry. Basically, both entrees taste like wet greasy spices. My co-worker and I totally regret eating here. Definitely caused a tummy ache. It is the only indian place in IV and is definitely the worst indian food I have ever had. I do not recommend this place at all. What's really random is that it also has boba drinks. The first time it happened I thought it was a fluke - I was given nickels instead of quarters. No big deal. I ate there today and was shorted a dollar in change, which I realized about 5 minutes into my meal. Honest mistake right? I got up to ask the guy working about it and he knew right away that he shorted me - no protest from him at all, which pretty much indicated he knew what he was doing, but he didn't say anything to me before I asked him. He also didn't give my friend his coin change until he specifically asked for it. Eat here if you want to be screwed out of a few cents to a dollar every time you pay. I tried this place a few times in Freshman year. Thought it was alright. Tried it a handful of times in Sophomore year. Thought it was good. And then Junior year and Senior year this became MY SPOT in Isla Vista. I got sick of a lot of the food available in Isla Vista but I could always count on Naan Stop for dinner if I didn't feel like making anything. I used to get their 2-meat entree but I realized that all of their curries are chicken based. Getting 2 chicken curries doesn't make sense. I then started ordering the 1-meat-1-veggie combo. Saag Tofu is what I usually got in combination with their Chicken Tikka Masala. Saag Paneer is a popular dish that uses cheese cubes in mushy spinach. Naan Stop's variation uses tofu which is probably a lot healthier. It looks like baby poop but if baby poop tastes as good as their Saag Tofu then I gotta find me a baby so I can eat its poop. Their Chicken Tikka Masala is wonderfully flavorful. They usually also pour the sauce all over the rice. One 2-item combo usually lasts me one and a half meals. Reheated indian food tastes great cause there isn't a change in texture when you reheat it. The guys working here sometimes seem a little intimidating but I've talked to the owner and he's a friendly guy. He complimented my manners because I said please and thank you when I ordered. He also called me one of his "regulars" despite us not knowing each other's names but he does know that I never accept the salad that he offers with every order. He said he still asks me every time because maybe I'll feel like eating salad one day and I'd be offended that he didn't ask. Anyways, I've graduated now but if I'm ever in the area I'm sure I'd stop by for some fast Indian food. One note: Don't get the boba/pearl drinks here. I think they inherited their boba equipment from whatever restaurant was there before. I mean, it's an Indian restaurant serving boba. What other warning do you need? It's not good. Trust me. I've craved boba while at Santa Barbara and I've given in to my weaknesses and had it here but it is so far from the real deal, that I would rather make a trip to LA and go get some good boba than get it here. read more

I'm addicted to the food here. I'm obsessed with Indian food like a soroity girl is obsessed with coke, and naan stop does Indian pretty well. The naan is a little dry and hard an the vegetable dishes usually lack full flavor, but the veggie rice and tikka masala are amazing. The also offer a wide range of boba at a decent price and ask for a ticket because if you buy a certain amount you'll get one free. Marks off for the RUDE service. Really they act like the customer is a burden and have loss business because of it. But, that doesn't make this place any less delicious! ^^ I always get the vegetable rice and chicken tikka masala. I looooooooove getting my rice DRENCHED in the sauce. After they pour on the sauce, I always ask for more sauce.
