I really wanted to like this place... To start off, fountain drinks don't get refills... so you're paying around 4 dollars for a regular drink. The food was okay... naan was a bit burnt and quite thin. I had the butter chicken and it was a decent portion but I was expecting more for the price. The service was decent. Employees looked a bit stressed and took around 30 minutes for our food to get to the table which is standard nowadays I suppose. Some people had been complaining about the wait times and the place didn't look so busy. Ambiance is very modern American which suits the place where it is at. I don't think I will be coming back just because I believe there are better Indian restaurants in Orlando where you can get better portions for a lower price. read more

First off this place is absolutely amazing. The he staff was attentive and friendly, chatting with us and making sure we were well stocked on drinks. The food...well what can I say other than fantastic. I had the malai kebab and some tandoor roti. The kebab was juicy and well marinated, tender to the touch and a delight to enjoy. The roti was nice and crisp, a perfect accompaniment to the kebab. For dessert I had the kheer and it's some of the best I've had in a long while. Absolutely delicious. They gave us some samples of the mango lassi and it was an instant sell. I can definitely recommend it. Give this place a definite shot. You won't regret it. It had been a while since we had been back here. Came in around 5:30pm on a Sunday and there was only one other couple dining in. The rotation of people coming in was a consistent flow though for takeout orders. We were greeted and seated right away and immediately had water brought to the table. I also had to go with the tandoori chicken and my husband got butter chicken. We've had the butter chicken before and find the flavor to be very good and with medium spice level it's the perfect blend in balance of spice and sweetness. The tandoori chicken was perfect! I love that it's not served with a heavy yogurt sauce. It's actually marinated in it and then cooked, so that when it comes out it's just clean chicken. They are chicken bits versus full size pieces such as wings but I found it to be the perfect size for dinner. Both were served with rice and we also opted for two different bread selections, trying the Petra and the roti. Both of them are a whole wheat and good but I think we prefer the enriched flour naan bread better. read more

I visited Naan Stopp with one of my friends on a Saturday around 5pm. I was really excited to try a new Indian place down here since I haven't found one I really like yet. This place, they get it. They get Indian food. I saw the menu and immediately ordered a lamb saag, which is my litmus test for Indian places I'm trying for the first time. We also ordered onion bhajis, lamb madras, and garlic naan. I also got a mango laasi because I love mango laasi. The mango laasi was awesome. Off the bat, it was the perfect texture and it wasn't served freezing which I love. It tasted great. The onion bhajis were fresh and warm, and they were served with both tamarind chutney and cilantro chutney. I always prefer the cilantro but they did a great job with both! The garlic naan was perfectly cooked and delicious. The lamb though, that's what shined for me. So many places mess up lamb saag by putting too much tomato or adding cream, but Naan Stopp got it perfect. I ordered it medium, and it was definitely more mild than I was expecting, but I loved it. There was a slight pinch of spice, but not nearly enough to mask the rest of the flavor so it was still very balanced. The lamb was perfectly tender and juicy. The lamb madras was also delicious. It was also medium, but it was slightly spicier than the saag (as it should be) The place was full for the majority of the time we were there. The team makes excellent use of the space, but I think they're going to have to either move the counter to add more tables or expand into a bigger space because this place is excellent and people know about it. From now on, whenever people ask me for a recommendation of an Indian place, this will be it without hesitation. read more

Found the spot for Indian that has what I have been missing since arriving in Orlando. The buttered chicken in the Chicken Lunch platter was outstanding. For me, I have not found anything close since I lived in LA. Didn't know what to expect and thought the place was more of a chain, but was wrong. From the shredded tandoori chicken to the the flavor of the sauce, it brought mack memories of some of the greatest places on the west coast. The buttered Naan was fresh, the basmati rice was just right and the yellow dal was full of flavor. I'll be back and often. read more

Love Naan and I was super excited to try this place out since I saw it was opening. My husband picked up to go last night and and it blew our minds. I wish I took pics but I was simply too hungry and the sight of delicious food won. Yes the naan and Lamb Korma were all delicious (seriously A+) but the stars were the desserts. YOU MUST GET A DESSERT. I LOVE Gulab Jamun (dough balls in rose water) and were incredible, but the Gagar Halwa (carrot dessert) was to die for. The food had great flavor and I appreciate having an Indian option in this area. We were slightly surprised that we had to wait 50 minutes for a take out order but being a new business I will give them a bit of a pass to work out some of the kinks. My biggest issue, and it's a serious concern that may keep me from going back is the portions size. Yes the takeout container of Butter Chicken was a nice size however when I started to make a plate I found 6, yes 6, cubes of chicken. My serving of protein was less than 1 entire chicken breast. I had about 2 cups worth of gravy but the meat was a measly and highly disappointing portion. When I'm paying nearly $20 for one single dish, I expect at LEAST the equivalent of an entire chicken breast, and to be honest it should be more than that. Overall my fiancé and I were happy with the flavor and both enjoyed our dish but I can't see myself paying those prices again unless they evaluate their portions. I had read a similar review on Facebook but wanted to still give it a shot, to be honest I was surprised how small it was even after reading about it. I REALLY want this place to survive but they have to make it worth the price they are charging. If the rent and wages are too high maybe the location isn't right! read more

Honestly thought it was a quick service, counter-style type restaurant but was surprised to see it wasn't. We ordered medium chicken tikka and medium Chana masala. If you like spice, recommend going higher than medium because it wasn't spicy at all. The food was delicious--especially the bread. So warm and fresh. I may be a bit harsh to drop down to 4 stars but the why was it was absolutely freezing inside, when we walked in we weren't exactly greeted warmly or welcomed, and when we said we would wait for a table we were told 20 minutes and the person who told us just didn't seem like they wanted us to wait. Stopped by tonight for some takeaway. While they're still working out the kinks (completely understandable), I'm impressed! Best Indian food I've had in Orlando yet. We had the black dal - fantastic flavor, and will definitely order this one again. The Aloo Gobi was "delish" per my other half. We also had the bullet naan and the cheese naan - both flavorful, the right amount of moisture, and very good. Most of the portions were quite generous, minus the Gulab portion, which was a little small but quite tasty. We had a small snafu with them charging me for the wrong order but hey, it happens, and like I said, new places always have kinks to work out and this one was no big deal. Also, there has a good amount of the selected protein in our dishes, which is nice bc it's not always the case with Indian restaurants in the area.The interior relatively small and has been full for both times I have done take out. I have recently been introduced to Indian food. Having said this, I have been trying different spots. I have purchased here twice and will say the food and service are blah! The first time I asked a few questions and the waitress seemed bothered. I took her indifference because I should have done my homework before going. First visit...food was o.k. Between my first and second visit I had the opportunity to try other restaurants. So my second visit...I didn't like it. My lamb vindaloo was entirely too salty. The naan was dry. If you're coming here for delicious food you're in the right place. If you're expecting good service go somewhere else. Both times I've come here the style of service has been very different from other restaurants. Our servers were nice, but too relaxed with no sense of timeliness. We sat for quite some time with only 1 or 2 other tables before we were greeted. We'd say okay we're ready to order, and she'd say ok I'll be back and several minutes would go by, and this was for anything we asked for. We were told they could bring out a lightly spiced mild meal for the kids but it was super spicy and they were starving so we needed to wipe the sauce off of the chicken. The server and the manager spent most of their time rolling silverware and doing side work, so I got up and asked very politely for some napkins. 5 minutes later she's still standing up there so I get up again and ask nicely a second time to which the manager said, very sternly with attitude, YES she's folding them for you. Literally sat there for 5 minutes folding like 6 paper napkins i stead of just handing them to me while I was up there. I figured our server must have been very new and still learning, but she mentioned to us that she had been there for a year. Apparently they're just trained to wait on guests in this manner. It takes a lot for me to write off a restaurant that has delicious food, but we will never step foot in this place again. The food is mouth watering and it's a good amount of food. I ordered goat biryani and my husband got a lamb Rogan josh. Ate dinner here in May a few weeks after they opened so they were still working things out (drink order was forgotten, some menu items not available) but overall we really liked the food. First impression was that the decor hadn't changed much from when it was a fast food restaurant as you could still see the cashier counter, digital menu boards and ice machine in the dining room. I hope they will make changes as the restaurant continues to do well. Also, the noise was very loud so it was somewhat hard to hear my dining companions. The food, however, was fantastic. I got the samosa appetizer served with tamarind and mint sauce. It was a bit spicy for my taste (sorry, I'm a wimpy Indian food eater; I have to get everything mild), but I just poured on the tamarind and ate the whole thing since the flavor was so good. For my entree, I got the Chicken Korma, mild, which still had a kick so I ordered the raita (yogurt sauce) to calm the spice down a bit. We of course ordered naan and that was great as well. My masala chai finally arrived halfway through dinner and it was delightful! I almost ordered another one. I will definitely be back and I'm sure the restaurant will get better the more experience they get. Pro tip: Make sure you use two p's in Stopp when you are looking up the restaurant online - there is another unrelated restaurant that has one p in their name. read more

First time here - VERY impressed. We started with the samosas. The y were flaky and hot and cooked perfectly. The medium spice butter chicken was smooth and creamy and delicious. The no spice butter chicken my wife ordered (I sampled it) was the best I can remember. The garlic naan was fresh, hot and the right combo of crunchy and fluffy.
