Number one way to make people feel like they're not getting enough food? Use a giant container and fill it not even half way. I made a return visit because my coworkers insisted for lunch. Like many people have mentioned, food is served Chipotle style. So choose your base (salad, naanwich, rice bowl) and then your meat (lamb, Turkey, chicken). There are two vegetarian options -- chickpeas and paneer, which is an Indian cheese that tastes kind of like firm tofu. I'd say the texture is closer to cheese but without the taste. Then there's the sauces. Pick your poison - cool (yogurt mint), spicy, sweet, etc. You can also get some spinach but I think it doesn't really make sense. Now I've never had "traditional" Indian food but my guess is that this isn't it. Everything seemed... Underwhelming and targeted at an American palette. I ended up getting the chicken tikka masala with the mint chutney over a bed of rice. My opinion is that it was too saucy for the amount of rice you get. The bowl felt really empty and light. This may or may not have just been perception issues since the containers are pretty deep. Flavors were fine but didn't strike me as particularly "Indian". They have a few side items - masala fries, samosas, naan. I will have to try the first two but I thought the garlic naan wasn't very good. Too charred. Portable Indian food. I've had curry and naan for years and all this time, I never thought to make a sandwich out of them. Naanstop has a very limited selection of meat to use for your naanwich or rice bowl. However, this works in the customer's favor because the serving line is fast and the choices are incredibly flavorful. Since I came after the lunch crowd (2PM-ish), the samosas were gone and the fries were a little stale. The portions are also a little small for the price. After finishing my meal with a co-worker, we remarked that this would be better as a food truck business. A quick Google search the next day revealed that it WAS a food truck turned full restaurant. Guess they're still ironing out the details for this transition. Anyway, Naanstop is a nice addition to Broad street and I'll return (much earlier in the day) for lunch. It is official. I am a NONSTOP NaanStop fan! For real. I went there for lunch today, luckily during a time when there was no long line, and once again NaanStop lived up to my own personal hype. I ordered a rice bowl, AGAIN, with chicken, but this time added TWO of their terrific sauces. You see, I normally get just one sauce but figured, HEY, we gotta live a little right? The two sauces, Indian spicy and apple, was the perfect combination of hot & sweet. SO GOOD. I am a certified carnivore, mostly, so I cannot speak on their vegetarian or vegan selections, but I did order a simosa and it was quite tasty. I expected it to be greasy, but it wasn't, which was a pleasant surprise. Even hours later, eaten as a leftover, I fully enjoyed my first simosa experience. Finally, I really meant to snap a pic of my meal, but my all-day craving and deeply felt hunger took over! Before you know it, I was devouring my rice bowl. Sigh, maybe next time. My only complaint, no observation, is the cramped feeling of the restaurant. Given its location, it's almost unfair to even bring it up because ALL the restaurants along Broad Street are small, cramped and always hosting long lines! Okay, so, I've been following NaanStop since ToNeTo Atlanta mentioned that they were coming to Atlanta, and today, I finally got a chance to stop by and see the glory. It did not disappoint. At all. NaanStop is the Chipotle of Indian restaurants - and that's an awesome thing. Choose your base (naan, rice bowl, or salad), choose your main entree, add your accessories and sauces, and you're done. They also offer masala fries (fries topped with tikka masala sauce and yogurt-cilantro chutney) and vegan samosas, along with a selection of naan and chutney dips. I chose the chicken tikka masala naanwich with onions and peppers, and added fresh spinach leaves and yogurt-cilantro chutney, along with a samosa. I took my first bite and I knew the rest would be slap-yo-momma good. I devoured my lunch in what felt like just a few minutes. For you purists out there, yeah, it's anglicized. But, so what? This little place makes sandwiches with naan breads and curries, which I have never seen anywhere else. It sounds yummy, right? I had paneer tikka masala (Indian cheese cubes in a creamy curry) in a garlic naan wrap and it hit the spot. I also had the Masala fries, fries with masala sauce and yogurt chutney enveloping the whole thing. Everything knocked my socks off. The sandwiches are not huge. You will likely want to add an appetizer or Masala fries with it. I notice they deliver too. Broad Street now is overloaded with good places to eat and NaanStop is among the best. I had been craving Indian food all week, and decided to check Scout Mob to see what I could get into. I have never heard of this place, but I am always game for new spots. I didn't expect this place to be like an Indian version of Chipotle, and didn't get my hopes up. It was great! I like the layout, and the food is very reasonably priced. Located conveniently near Five Points Marta Station, Centennial Park, and Georgia State Campus....it is a Indian fast food spot, lesser quality version of Chipotle. You can get a Naan Wrap or rice bowl and pick your meats and sauces. It was alright. It filled me up, but I wouldn't crave this spot. If you are in a rush and you want a decent fast food Indian spot, you should at least try it. There is always a Groupon, Living Social, or Yelp deal on this. 20% off or a free appetizer, so check before you buy. It lessens the blow and you'll enjoy it more. read more

I'm not an expert on Indian food but this stuff was pretty damn good:) I hadn.t had Indian cuisine in probably 10 years so I decided to stop in here one day for lunch and I thoroughly enjoyed it. It's pretty straightforward, when you go in, you go up to the counter and choose your base, protein, chutney and sides and your all set. I had the (white) rice with Chicken Tikka Masala with the Apple Tamarind Chutney and a side of their Masala Fries....the fries had a yogurt-cilantro sauce on them that I REALLY liked and I may get that for my chutney next time. You get quite a bit of food and the prices are very reasonable, I got out of there for less than $11. Errrrr it was pretty difficult to decide between three and four stars here, but in the end I am going with three. But don't get me wrong, this is a very enthusiastic three stars. 3.5 stars, if that were an option. The gist of the menu is simple: Pick your entree (Naanwich, rice bowl, or salad), pick your protein, choose toppings/sauces. Grab a side and drink, and you've got a meal. I've stopped by a handful of times since the opening and sampled a few of Naanstop's offerings. I've had the chicken tikka masala Naanwich, the lamb curry rice bowl, the masala fries, and the samosas (not all one sitting, of course). The food is pretty good. But it's sort of heavy, like it just sort of sits in my belly like a brick afterward. I'm not sure what the deal with that is. Anyway, it tastes good but...it's not amazing or anything. I know the food is meant to appeal to all, so it's not as boldly spiced as other Indian food I've had. So that may be a plus or minus for you, but definitely worth noting. A few other random notes: - They've lowered their prices! I'm glad to see that their $6.5 items are now $6. The lamb has gone from $8.5 to $8, so it looks like their main items have gone down $.5 in price. Makes their main items a better value, I think. - The sides are both good and priced at $2.5. I don't think the fries are quite worth it, but you should definitely try them once. Not sure about the value of the samosa, but I'd probably pay $2.5 for it again. - This afternoon, a chicken Naanwich, samosa, and regular size drink cost me $10.79. One of the pricier options on Broad Street. - They have a loyalty punch card. It's not clear what you have to buy to qualify for a punch, but I'm assuming it's a main item. Buy 10 and the next is free! - If you're particularly hungry, get the rice bowl over the Naanwich. - The apple tamarind chutney sauce that comes with the samosa is especially good. - Last time I was there (err, this afternoon), they were offering samples of their mango lassi. Sadly, I don't do mango, so I didn't try. I wish they had just a regular sweet lassi. I'd totally try that. All in all, I definitely recommend checking this spot out. I had the pleasure of sampling a NaanStop samosa at a recent Yelp Event, and let me tell you, this is hands down the best samosa I've had in the US EVER. I took a bite and was transported to my childhood days in Bombay (pre-Mumbai) where I would beg my mom to buy me a samosa at the nearest sweet shop. There was a red faux leather sofa outside that was always too hot to sit on because of the never-ending sun. We would mingle around the shop and stuff our faces with the samosa. I seriously almost cried. There are several samosa impostors around town, with carrots, lima beans, and random assortments of veggies stuffed into the pastry shell. NaanStop just had peas and potatoes (I think, I was too enamored by the party going on in my mouth to pay more attention), and the way the spices just entangled your senses - holy moly. I have a rule where I judge Indian restaurants/cuisine on the chutney - the spicy coconut chutney was made of real coconuts and the sweet tangy tamarind chutney offered the perfect balance. The handsome Idnani brothers were there themselves, serving up the samosas to us Yelpers. They're opening a new location in Buckhead. CAN'T. WAIT. read more

Mm I could always go for Lamb Curry and I'm glad there's a yummy Indian lunch spot right by my work. Combo deals from ScoutMob and Yelp brought me to this bustling lunch spot right in the heart of Downtown and GSU. Like many yelpers before me have stated, it's like the Chipotle of Indian food. Choose your carb/base, move to meats, veggies, and sauces. I'm a huge fan of being able to see what exactly goes into your meal as its getting prepared. I got the Lamb Curry Naanwich with Spinach and topped off with Apple Tamarind Chutney. Overall, the flavors worked well and was pretty tasty. Only complaint would be the lamb being a tad dry, but the sauces helped give it some flavor. The Samosas were bomb and as I learned at the Yelp Holiday Bash, the owner Neal uses his grandmother's recipe for making these delicious triangular treats. NaanStop is one of those places that sit right in the 3.5 star range. I liked it, but didn't like it enough to give it 4 stars. NaanStop reminds me of Chipotle, except with Indian food. The concept is the same. You go in get your burrito (Naan Wrap) or burrito bowl (rice bowl); pick your protein such as chicken tikki masala, lamb curry, saag paneer, etc.; and pick your chutney. I tried the Naan Wrap with Lamb. Since the Lamb was so saucy, the server suggested I just put the lamb in the bowl and just dip the naan in it. I agreed since it would've been a messy meal. The lamb was decent. It had good flavor and seemed tender enough. The naan was disappointing. It wasn't fluffy and airy. It felt too chewy, flat, and tough. I tried some of the chutneys. Their chili cilantro did taste hot and spicy. My favorite was the apple tamarind. It had a sweet, buttery taste. As a side, I had their samosa. I tasted good. It had a nice, crispy shell and wasn't too greasy. It went well with the coconut, mint, cilantro chutney and the apple tamarind chutney. NaanStop isn't a bad place to eat. I like their concept of trying to fast-foodize Indian cuisine. But for the price, I have had more satisfying and tastier Indian food at proper Indian restaurants. Finally Broad Street has a decent selection of cuisines to choose from! NaanStop is great Indian fast food if you have that craving. And I always have that craving every once in a while for Indian food. And I use the word "fast food" in a good way. You enter the restaurant and order at the counter. First you tell them if you want a Naanwich or rice bowl. You can do a salad as well but I always get either the Naanwich or rice bowl. Then tell them your protein and sauce. There is something for meat lovers and vegetarians. They have a good selection of chutneys. I always get the apple tamarind chutney which is a little sweet. Definitely get a samosa or also a mango lassi. They're both really good and worthwhile getting! The samosa has a nice spicy kick to it. The only reason I didn't give this a fully 5 stars is that the Naanwich can get a tad bit soggy and it loses the chutney. Plus this isn't your usual traditional Indian restaurant. I was extremely disappointed with Naanstop. Normally I would say that they're still trying to perfect their food, but I researched it beforehand, and they used to be a food truck. Their food should be tried and true. I read the reviews before, and the first one was written before even their soft opening, so I found the rave review finding everything PERFECT a little suspect. I know that a lot of restaurants will ask their friends to post, which sours my opinion of the restaurant. Regardless, I still wanted to give them a fair shot and tried the food. The menu options were nothing fancy - mostly just stuff that you can get at any other Indian place. I was a little taken aback by the prices, but I figured that they would make it up in the portion size.....and I was wrong. The tandoori spices tasted like they were out of a packet from the Indian grocery store, and the paneer tasted store-bought. My roommate in college used to make fresh paneer, so I know what homemade paneer tastes like. I'm a fan for the following reasons: 1. Simple, easy menu with step-by-step instructions. 2. Their rice bowl has an option of white or brown rice. 3. They are super generous with their sauces and you can get as many as your heart desires. 4. Their somosas are really fantastic and automatically come with 3 sauces on the side so you don't have to rack your brain to figure out what type you want. Oh and they're huge! 5. They offer frequent customer punch cards. 6. Their facilities are clean, bright, and well-kept. As some other Yelpers pointed out, the chicken tikka doesn't really taste like traditional chicken tikka masala, but it's still quite tasty. I got a rice bowl because I didn't want to deal with a messy naanwich (which my coworker said was delicious) and they topped it with extra onions and fresh spinach at request. While the samosa was YUMMMY...the bowl left much to be desired. I went for a half and half rice bowl (wanted the benefits of brown rice, but felt I needed the traditional white this go round) and chicken tikka masala. Being a novice to build your own Indian rice bowl, I wasn't really sure what to put on it, so I just sort of nodded and smiled when I saw the preparer gravitate towards something. I ended up with onions and peppers, spinach, apple chutney, and yogurt sauce. It would be nice if they had suggestions/recommendations/employee favorites for the novices like myself. Now the portions are FILLING!!! Do not be misled into thinking a bowl will not fill you up....it will!! You will have leftovers if you get a samosa like I did. And I am glad I did. The curry potato-pea filling was on par with samosa I've had in Mumbai. The samosa shell was a little on the think side but still ok. I could eat just the filling and chutney and be as happy as a cow crossing the street in India during rush hour! This place is fantastic. I ordered a Yogurt Cilantro Lamb Wrapped in Naan. The assembly is a lot like Subway. You first choose what kind of base your meal will be placed on (Rice Bed, Naan Flat bread or Salad). Then it was down the line choosing your protein, additional veg and sauce to put on top. Word to the wise. It is very messy and precautions should be taken when eating there. It's also wise to understand that since it's on Broad St (close to many businesses and Georgia State's Aderhold building) that it is very busy. When I went with a friend we walked right in and were able to order our food right away. A second after being seated, a swarm of folks came in and I calculated the average wait time to about 3-4 minutes if not longer. A testament to how good it is obviously. Pros: + Healthy Indian Food Fast + On Broad Street, so very accessible + Easy on the Wallet, even if you want to get extravagant. Cons: - Due to assembly line construction, it might take some time getting something if there is a line - Very Messy and with little access to a public restroom, can be problematic to deal with. The chicken tikka masala was creamy and not heavily spiced, but that's kind of what I was expecting considering the feel of the place is an Americanized type of "fast food" style Indian food. So, given those expectations, I was pleasantly surprised by the food! There is very little in-restaurant seating..maybe 5 tables total, so don't expect to find a seat. This place is best when your expectations are to get your food to-go. This is my second time ever eating Indian food and what a treat! My husband and I are by no means all that experienced with Indian food or normally too adventurous which is why NaanStop was perfect for us! The restaurant is set up Chipotle style, with a basic menu that you can mix and match different bases (Naan, Salads or Rice bowls) with meat, veggies, and sauces. I had the rice bowl with lamb, fajita peppers, yogurt cilantro and spinach and it was INCREDIBLE! Really bummed out. I enjoyed this restaurant a few dozen times over the past few years but on this visit a lot has changed. They replaced the coke dispenser with Tractor beverages. Location is a plus. Trolling through the Broad St/Panther prowl, there's always a need for diverse options, and good food. Stopped in for a Samosa; you only get one Samosa, but it's $2.50. Good pricing there, and the samosa is pretty large. The chutneys lacked some spice, and were somewhat of a hybrid between north and south indian chutneys. The channa didn't look apetizing, or else I would've gotten a chaat. The lassi is a good size for the $3 price tag, and the prices seem fair for what you are getting. The nan is made fresh is some sort of metal tandoori oven-- how they manage that, i don't know. clean space, solid flavors, nothing you'd go insane over, and nice staff. add free wifi and i'll be there daily. read more

Another downtown lunch spot, NaanStop doesn't disappoint. This place is basically an Indian rip-off of chipotle. From the menu display to the options, it will definitely remind you of the king of burrito chains. Naan is no tortilla, however. Your delicious ingredients and chutneys will not be as well contained as in a real burrito. Be advised you're about to get yourself into a hot mess. That said, it's an overall delightful and customizable experience due to the variety of proteins and sauces. Mediocre at very best. The staff was super nice though and I got a free samosa via the yelp app so that's why I'm giving it a 2... it wasn't horrible by any means it just wasn't that great. It was a solid "meh." TBH I doubt I will frequent this place. Got the naan sandwich with chicken tikki masala and for the price, it's not super filling. For the same price or a little more I could get a seriously loaded chipotle burrito that I'd have to eat in two servings. This was NOT that much filling or anything for the price. The sauce was tasty and the onion/peppers were solid. But really I can't get past a feeling of overall "ehh." The samosa, I didn't care for... I've never had one before so I can't attest to what it's supposed to taste like but again it was meh. It was ok, I guess? I don't rly hold this against them though because maybe all samosas have that flavor/consistency and I don't have the context to really know that. The hospitality here was fantastic! The food was delicious too. It's rather rare to see a fast casual Indian restaurant so it's nice that this place exists. I got the Naanwich which can get kind of messy depending on what protein you choose but nothing a fork can't fix. Hands down the samosa was spectacular. It had the right amount of spice to give it a kick. It was really nice to hear that the recipe is the owner's mother's recipe. I also had the badam milk ice cream to finish out the meal. It was a flavor I'd never had before and one that I instantly wanted more of. Would easily come back here. read more
