It happened to be their trivia night, and there were a few locals in there with a host having a good time. We studied the menu and the cashier who was very helpful, helped us navigate how to order . They have a system where you pick an entrée, a protein ,and then you can customize your toppings on a burrito, a burrito bowl, or nachos - which is their signature dish. My sister got nachos . I got a bowl . All I can speak for is the bowl which I thought was pretty good. I had chips to dip into it because I did not have rice to make it very hardy; the flavors were decent- no wow factor. The cheese sauce was thin, almost as if had been watered down, and the majority of the volume was guac. I love guac... but it just fell flat. Altogether, we were a bit disappointed. This was one of our favorite places, but it's under new ownership now and the food has really gone down hill. My go-to is usually the enchorito, but now it's filled with beans and rice and hardly any meat. On top of that, the prices have increased and the flavor isn't there anymore. Decided to come back this last Sunday to check out one of our go to places in Monterey. As you could see, we've been here a few times it's consistently good consistently clean and the people are always really friendly. We heard this location was under new ownership, so we decided to head down to our surprise, the new owner is already working and checking in on everybody as they were taking orders and after they received their food. There is a good amount of tables filled when we arrived, which makes me very happy for any local owned and operated establishment. I'm glad to do odors ship decided to keep the artwork because, if they got rid of it, they would literally be taking away some of the best tributes of this location. If you read my reviews, you know that I am a stickler about the bathroom. It was a little funky there was a lot of paper towels on the floor. There was no toilet seat covers, and when I went to tell the lady at the front, she had mentioned something about "oh I thought you were gonna tell me that we are out of soap" like she already knew it was pretty much out- There was still some soap but very little left after my use. Like I said it wasn't majorly horrible. It just could've used a little attention and someone like myself who has been to this establishment a good amount of times with notice something like that. Overall, the food was really good as usual. I hope they don't change too much about this place because, it has been around for a while. Also hope they continue to support their adult softball team that they sponsor. I know several people that play for the team and give this restaurant a lot of support. We will be back! read more

Stopped at this spot for a snack and we were delighted to see what they offer! We got a hella size vegetarian nacho with everything on it. It came full; filled with beans, cheese, guac, jalapeños and more. After digging through the piles of toppings we got to the chips and sauce and yes; they meant true bizness! The Mac N' Cheese bowl was a big failure. Mac N' Cheese soup is more like it. Watery, bland, barely any meat. I'm probably going to regret it in 10 minutes, but I ate the whole thing just so I can submit a full and honest review. Under the previous ownership, I couldn't even finish half of a bowl because they would hook it up with the meat and toppings. Not so much under the new owners. The service was good and they certainly seem to appreciate their customers. But that is the only positive thing I can say about my experience with the new owners. This is a fun place to get some casual Mexican food right in Monterey's downtown. They have a selection of three meats (carne asada, chicken, and pork) and a couple of cheese sauces. I got the phife combination which had all three meats and both cheese sauces, probably a good place to start for a first visit. This is a long overdue review I've been meaning to write but in short, Nacho Bizness was a kind and generous vendor for my wife and I at our wedding which took place at the Barns at Cooper Molera (down the street from Nacho Bizness) in September. We contracted NB for serving our guests our "Late night snack" since we had a good 3 hours of dance floor time, we knew our guests would be hungry. Nacho Bizness was a big hit with our guests! They set up a nacho bar outside of the dance floor where guests could pick and choose what meats and toppings they wanted, and NB also made sure that all guests could be accommodated (vegan, dairy free, etc). We were worried that our guests would be too full from dinner to eat a late-night snack, but many of our guests told us they ended up getting 2 plates of nachos because it was so good. The owner and employees who helped set up the contract/cost and set up/take down their table were so incredibly kind as well. They were patient with us while we tried to decide our budget and snack options, they were transparent about the cost and how everything will be set up, and they made their part of the night so easy so my wife and I didn't even have to worry about helping them get set up during our wedding day. Many guests as well told us how friendly they were! I also feel the cost of what they charged was extremely fair in contrast to how expensive wedding catering can be. They even made us baklava as a gift, which, even though I'm not typically a "sweets" guy, was one of the best things I've ever tasted and we still have some in our freezer because we don't want it to run out. My only regret is that since my wife and I were so busy on our wedding day that we only got to share 1 plate of nachos :(, I really wish I could have gotten more! read more

There is ample seating and was served quickly. There is a high chair for kids and the bathroom was clean. I was working in the area and this place caught my eye on yelp so we checked them out after our shift. Located in the downtown area so the parking is limited but fairly easy to find. The decor is simple and modern style. Clean for the most part with long high tables and stools. You order at the counter and they bring your order to you. I went ahead and got the phiphe special with fries which consists of a holy mess that somehow makes sense lol. All types of meats, beans,corn, sour cream, guac etc and it's a hefty portion to ease the pain of the price. I spent around 25 bones for the fries and a bottled coke. With that said the food isn't cheap but you won't feel robbed when you leave, especially if you take the time to speak to the workers/owner. I knew the cook was running the operation as he was cool, calm and keeping everything running like a well oiled machine. I had a few words with him and he's as chill as it gets. The ambiance is kinda hippy-esque or just young California style from the pictures hanging, music and random messages spread through the establishment.
