I had been wanting to try this place for a long time, and a friend and I finally went last night. I got the vegan enchiladas and he got the enchilada nachos. He loved his food and said he would come back, and I really liked my enchiladas as well. The vegan cheese and sour cream were super yummy! It is unfortunate that the regular Mexican rice and refried beans aren't vegan, but the "healthy" black beans and wild rice were really good. I also really liked the onions inside the enchiladas. My main gripe with the place is that they use AI "photos" on their menu and on the little advertisements, and they look absolutely horrifying. So I need to knock one star off. read more

We got Nacho Daddy to-go last night and I was honestly skeptical about nachos surviving the trip to our hotel (10 minutes away)--but they held up surprisingly well! The packaging and presentation were awesome and really unique. The nachos were delicious, and major points from me for using actual melted cheese instead of cheese sauce. But the unexpected star?! The churros + fried bread with caramel, chocolate, and raspberry dipping sauces. The fried bread basically FLEW AWAY!! Crunchy, flaky little bites of AIR. This place is a favorite for the MS & HS Athletes after a 3-day tournament to come and indulge (especially from Arizona luvin' Tex-Mex). I do enjoy the concept and layout, and the fact that Sports are being showcased on the many TVs is a bonus. That, along with Music videos! This time around, we did the Lemon pepper wings, I think a surf & turf nacho and the Mexican Corn... I focused on the Mexican-Cobb salad with chicken. House margaritas for $6 were my saving grace after 3 long days & "when" I got one it was good... but it was hard to get another for both of us. The service was good to start, but the wait for refills or another round was long while we waited for our food. The request for water and ice seemed to be really hard to come by, so we felt like we were just sitting and waiting while watching music videos. The food was "ok". The taco salad was as expected, but the chicken was dry and overcooked. Same for the steak with the nachos. I went here later at night around 9:30 is wasn't packed which was nice. It was also a week day. The waiter was nice and let me know I could do both sauces on the enchilada nacho. One thing I love about it - they have an extensive menu for meat eaters and a large vegan menu as well! Also, $5 house margaritas all day every day. One thing that's hard - as a vegetarian I want an option that is in between - real cheese/sour cream (not vegan cheese) with veggies and beans. But that option unfortunately doesn't exist on the menu! The first time I came, I tried to order a vegan option with real cheese but I think I confused the server and just got the vegan cheese. This time, I ordered the enchilada nachos with no meat but I think the meat was doing the heavy lifting on those nachos because the ones I received without meat were lackluster. Would love a suggestion on what to get here for those of us who are vegetarian! I don't want meat, but I don't want vegan cheese. This is such a cute place! Apparently their margaritas are top notch!! I am not big into them but my friend got one and said it was lovely! I ordered some chicken tacos and loved them. Also, I just really love chicken tacos. We ordered chips and salsa with a small side of guac and it was lovely. Service was prompt and she was super nice. I decided to give Nacho Daddy a second try, and found that this time around was marginally better than the last. Again, the problem is with the service. We went in around 1:00 pm, just after the lunch rush, and the two girls working--the hostess and the server--were both really friendly. The server was attentive at first, but as more people drifted in it became very clear that the place was entirely understaffed. A third person brought us our food and that was the last we ever saw of anyone. No offers of more beer, no check to see if the food was ok, nothing. We needed salt but could never flag anyone down to get any. Once we finished our food I had to chase down the hostess to get our bill. The food was ok, but at $70 for two entrees and an appetizer, you'd expect way, way better service. I am not going back. read more

Arguably one of the worst service experiences I've had at a restaurant anywhere in the country. We ordered 1 margarita, 1 order of chips and guacamole and 2 quesadillas. 1 quesadilla with chicken. 1 steak quesadilla with no sour cream. The drink and chips and guacamole took some time (there were 3 other parties while we were there place is almost empty) but nothing TOO crazy. After ~15 minutes the quesadillas came out the first time from a food runner. He tried to give us a cheese quesadilla and a steak quesadilla with sour cream on top of all 4 parts of it. We sent it back since it wasn't right, and he had a pretty poor attitude about this. About another 15 minutes later (no new parties came in FYI) the food came out. They scraped the sour cream off the steak quesadilla clearly since there was plenty of residual left over. The chicken quesadilla was clearly opened up cheese quesadilla that had some chicken added (not the worst thing in the world, but nonetheless) The party next to us was served appetizers and ate them without even having water. There actual drinks came out when there food came out. My waitress never checked on us once, nor did any of the staff (there was a literal 1:1 ratio of staff members to parties sat at tables) and we had to get her attention to get a check. She asked how everything was and I told her. She didn't say sorry, she wasn't polite, she just told me that she had heard the food came out wrong) Every single person that I interacted with that worked here very clearly didn't want to be at work. I don't live in Utah or this region of the country but if I'm ever back in the area I would never come here again in my life. I ate at raising canes earlier after hiking earlier today and the customer service was about 20x better there. read more

The large margaritas help soothe the price tag scares, but even those will run you $15+ per glass. The staff seemed super frazzled for a Wednesday night. Our waitress basically left us hanging after our food arrived. The supreme nachos were very bland and boring. And the chicken quesadilla was outrageously greasy. The space is set up pretty nicely, large bar area with TVs playing music videos. The menu has a decent variety of options. There are several types of nachos of course, but you can also find appetizers, tacos, enchiladas, fajitas, etc. Something for everyone. I had to try out the nachos, so I went with the Filet Mignon Nachos. My partner tried the white queso, plus chicken American tacos. The nachos were HUGE and the flavor was good. I had to throw in the towel about halfway through, so you could definitely share these. The white queso was solid and the tacos were good as well. They didn't skimp on the amount of chicken at all. My husband and I tried Nacho Daddy for the first time while we were on a staycation in downtown SLC a few weekends ago. This place has been on my list of places I've wanted to try for a long time. We shared the carnitas nachos that were fully loaded with tender carnitas meat, cheddar cheese, sour cream, avocado, pickled onions, cotija cheese and fresh lime all on festive red and yellow corn chips. We did ask for salsa on the side because the nachos needed an extra kick of flavor and spice. The service was great and we gig out good quickly. The restaurant is smaller and had a cozier feel. There are a few parking lots and garages nearby to park but you do have to pay to park which is no surprise for downtown Salt Lake. read more
