This place is a favorite for the MS & HS Athletes after a 3-day tournament to come and indulge (especially from Arizona luvin' Tex-Mex). I do enjoy the concept and layout, and the fact that Sports are being showcased on the many TVs is a bonus. That, along with Music videos! This time around, we did the Lemon pepper wings, I think a surf & turf nacho and the Mexican Corn... I focused on the Mexican-Cobb salad with chicken. House margaritas for $6 were my saving grace after 3 long days & "when" I got one it was good... but it was hard to get another for both of us. The service was good to start, but the wait for refills or another round was long while we waited for our food. The request for water and ice seemed to be really hard to come by, so we felt like we were just sitting and waiting while watching music videos. The food was "ok". The taco salad was as expected, but the chicken was dry and overcooked. Same for the steak with the nachos. The 2 orders of lemon pepper wings came on 2 different plates, yet they were not cooked consistently. Again, just an ok visit that could have been better.

Late night dining vibe that's probably one of the only places open after 10pm on a Friday night. After just flying into town and getting settled, glad that they have a Nacho Daddy in SLC. Open dining and food just as good as in Vegas. Service was on point at the beginning, and food came out quick. But felt a little forgotten as we ate, but probably okay since just needed a place to eat before going to sleep. Oh parking is limited and parking cost is higher than other areas of downtown.

My sister and I visited this place on the last day of our trip in SLC! Tasty margs - only $5!! Our server was nice and the nachos were solid! Nothing crazy but we liked the vibe. I would recommend for a good dinner spot.

One thing I love about it - they have an extensive menu for meat eaters and a large vegan menu as well! Also, $5 house margaritas all day every day. One thing that's hard - as a vegetarian I want an option that is in between - real cheese/sour cream (not vegan cheese) with veggies and beans. But that option unfortunately doesn't exist on the menu! The first time I came, I tried to order a vegan option with real cheese but I think I confused the server and just got the vegan cheese. This time, I ordered the enchilada nachos with no meat but I think the meat was doing the heavy lifting on those nachos because the ones I received without meat were lackluster. Would love a suggestion on what to get here for those of us who are vegetarian! I don't want meat, but I don't want vegan cheese. The space is lovely, super cute, service was great and the server and the food runner were both super nice and accommodating. You can sit in the restaurant or at the bar. Parking can be a little tricky but you can pay for parking out front or around the corner. There must've been a game downtown last night because parking was a little hard to find.

Service was great! Nachos were yummy. We stopped in for an afternoon snack and ordered one plate of Nachos... it was huge! Glad we only ordered one to share! I was excited about the vast array of margaritas, and decided to go with a house margaritas. I went this route assuming if their house was good, all of them would be. Was disappointed with the margaritas, mainly just mixer and really sour... but I've come to expect any drink in Utah isn't going to be the best! After dinner (later that night at another place) we went back and tried the local beer flight. Four different local beers, these were really good!

This is such a cute place! Apparently their margaritas are top notch!! I am not big into them but my friend got one and said it was lovely! I ordered some chicken tacos and loved them. Also, I just really love chicken tacos. We ordered chips and salsa with a small side of guac and it was lovely. Service was prompt and she was super nice. My friend ordered the fajitas, and wait for it,... they lit on fire right next to our table! So fun!

Me and my coworkers have been wanting to go to this place for a while and we were excited to finally go. I personally ordered the cheeseburger nachos. and my coworkers ordered the steak nachos and my other enchiladas my nachos looked so dry and plain, like if I could make it myself at home and for $23 dollars! The chips were unseasoned, dry and soggy. The meat was unseasoned. And my coworkers were saying the same thing. It was honestly Taco Bell level. The Team was nice and everything, it was just the food. Of course I ate some because I was starving but it was a hard eat for sure.

Nacho Daddy - SLC Nacho Daddy never misses -- and this visit sealed the deal! Service? On point. The hostess got us seated right away (no waiting, no hangry meltdowns), and our server was prompt, friendly, and super attentive -- like he had a sixth sense for when we needed more chips or another drink. The food and drinks? Absolute . Everything was packed with flavor and came out hot and fresh. Both dishes were super shareable -- but be warned: you might not want to share. (Looking at you, skillet queso .) The ambience is super chill with a casual, fun vibe -- plus, the view out the window makes it feel like the perfect spot to people-watch or unwind with a house Sangria in hand. All in all, this place is a win every time. Great service, great eats, great energy. "Go for the queso, stay for the vibes"?

We came here before a hockey game. Best margaritas we have had. They were homemade and mixed to perfection. Food was good with a full vegan menu. Guac and chips was a big portion.

Food had little to no meat. $25 for surf and turf nachos with very little no meat was interesting. 1 piece of shrimp. However the waitress was attentive and the manger made it right. All that said, likely won't return hope they improve in the future

    Brisket burnt ends nachos

First time being from out of town. Great service. Manager took care one entree that wasn't right. Our group had a variety of different nacho entrees; brisket burnt end, supreme, fajitas, and chicken quesadillas. All good but beware- they are big.

We landed here after our other lunch plans fell through. We were looking for vegan-friendly places for me and celiac-safe (gluten-free) options for my partner. This place hit both marks! Almost all items were gluten-free with a few exceptions, and there was also a separate vegan menu. I appreciated the "quick bites" menu, as I don't eat a lot and didn't want to take home leftovers, as we were only in town visiting. The drink options were pretty limited- basically coffee, iced tea, and coke products. Service was fast, as we were one of two couples in the restaurant at lunch on a Monday after Christmas. As far as the food, my vegan chick'n tacos were nice and spicy, but nothing to write home about. Ambience wasn't my cup of tea. The emphasis of the place is the bar area, then there are alternative rock music videos playing on several TV screens. Overall, not bad, just not the kind of place I'm usually drawn to.

    David J.

Food isn't worth the price. Small portion sizes. Nachos are pretty basic. Not a lot of protein. Mostly cheese and lettuce. Margarita's are all ice and no alcohol. Probably won't come back. Kinda sick to my stomach I spent that much of my hard earned money for that quality of product. Giving them 2 stars since the service was great.

The pork mango enchiladas were unique, a bit sweet, savory, nice and a tasty change. Our other selection was the three tacos a la iguana with shredded beef, sour cream, guacamole, corn tortilla, pepper jack cheese and refried beans. The tacos were a bit dry but the refried bean and rice were good. The portion sizes are very generous. Red Iguana 2 is not fancy or modern and home cooked Mexican cuisine. The choices here are solid, but not over the top. The are filling a spot in the dining environment with a good and tasty product without the fancy flare. I wish them continued success and may the family legacy continue. If you are looking for a family friendly, generous portion sizes and a solid meal, give Red Iguana a chance.
