I feel like i just got ripped off. Despite being listed cheaper with no meat on the menu, I was charged $11.50 for VEGETARIAN nachos. I didn't realize until I left that I had been overcharged, but hoped they would be good enough to make up for it. Nope! Nachos came out quick but were a mass of only slightly melted cheese. The cheese was stringy and disgusting, piled on the top of the clearly store bought chips, many of which were bare.The "hot" salsa was mild at best.The guac was fine, thank god. I was trying to support a local business instead of Taco Bell, but I left having spent more money and feeling less satisfied than I would have been. If your business is named Nacho Mama, the nachos better be good!!! Not coming back as I was overcharged and it was gross. This place is the bee's knees when I'm on the road south. It's just off the 101 and it's a little hole in the wall place with a patio for sitting. I love their burritos with black beans and this is one of the few places where I can go either way: Vegetarian or Carnivore. And that's hard for me to do, believe me! I have to give this place credit, because you don't have many options when it comes to wanting Mexican food in the middle of nowhere. Being from San Diego, and possibly being from the home of the best Mexican food, I know I am a harsh critic. But there was nothing "super" about their super nachos. They should be called the side stack nacho or something more suiting. I ordered these to go and thought it would be enough to satisfy as a snack for my boyfriend and I on our way back. If you really like Mexican food, authentic Mexican food, then I highly recommend NOT eating here! My Bf ordered a super nacho that they placed in the microwave to heat causing the chips to be chewy and stale tasting. My vegetarian burrito had lettuce in it which was not listed and was very bland. Definitely not worth the $8.75! Rice was chewy and salsa was super acidic, with no flavor! Also found a hair in my burrito, not a huge deal but the girl at the counter had long dreads and wasn't very appetizing to see when you're working with food and no hair net. The food is organic and homemade, which means a lot to me. My veggie taco was pretty good. But the staff was not very friendly at all, making me not want to return. I was their only customer, yet I felt like I was an annoyance to them. I had been wanting to stop here for years, and this was the first time I was there when it was open, so I felt disappointed by the reception. Everyone else in Garberville was super friendly. I think it's important to have both good food and friendliness if you want to have a successful restaurant business. A truly enjoyable first time! The tacos are simple and amazing! I've wondered about this place for years, I'm so glad I finally decided to let my guard down and try it. The sun herbal tea was delicious, so was the special, chili verde. The owner was working the place, I found her to be kind, and warming. Great food and drinks! I had the super nachos with black beans and pork. The pork was very tender and flavorful. The guacamole was freshly made. My black tea was freshly brewed. My grandsons and daughter enjoyed what they declared to be the best fresh lemonade they had ever tasted. Being southerners, I tend to believe them. Good people, great food! My husband and I were bummed out by the breakdown of our rental car, which ended up in front of Nacho Mama mid-afternoon. They noticed our long, long wait for a tow - in the midst of a torrential rainstorm no less - and brought us chips with salsa and guacamole to cheer us up. So delicious! Their kindness, and some of the best chips/salsa/guac we have ever had, changed everything for the better. Thanks for the uplift, guys! We tried to drop by for lunch and to thank you in person on our way home this Monday, but you were closed in order to attend a graduation.
