Steak taco salad...TONS of meat and peppers under there!
    Amy K.

Super cute family owned restaurant close to Cedar Point. Prices are very fair and the portions are big. I enjoyed the Steak Taco Salad which was packed with mostly meat and peppers. The margarita was tasty as well. The waitstaff was very attentive and checked on us constantly throughout our meal. While right now there is not bar seating available, there is plenty of room for your family and friends to gather. They did a great job spacing out the tables to comply with safety rules. This is a great meal to grab a bite after a day at the park!

Saw the review on yelp that said it was a hidden gem and they were not lying. The service was very friendly and gave great recommendations. We are a family of 4 that got an appetizer, meals and desserts all under 90 dollars. The food was fresh and delicious proving that quality doesn't have to break your bank. The outside was very basic and not very appealing but they had plenty of customers so was not deterred. So glad we gave it a shot.

Nice Mexican joint near the hotels. While it may not look like much from the inside or out, the food won't disappoint! I had fajitas with Mexican sausage, shrimp and chicken washed down with a glass of horchata. My fiancée had the tilapia. Both of us would rate our meals as a solid 4/5. For Mexican this far north, not too bad!

A clean hole-in-the-wall restaurant. Best of both worlds.

This is my favorite kind of hole-in-the-wall restaurant. It is spotlessly clean and the employees are exceedingly friendly. The food is authentic Mexican, served in huge portions, and the menu features a wide variety of options. The salsa served with the chips was very mild but a more spicy sauce with great flavor and decent heat is available on request. There are several vegetarian options on the menu. I chose a wet vegetarian burrito and it was the bomb. Hot and fresh, smothered with red sauce and filled with melted cheese. The plate was filled with rice and really tasty refried beans, also lettuce, tomato slices and a nice scoop of guacamole. The host and server were both very welcoming and gracious. They treated their customers with such care and respect that I felt like I was a guest in their home. Definitely one of the best restaurants in Sandusky.

So many veggie options! In reviewing the menus of local restaurants it seems like a lot of pizza places and sports bars, each with about one vegetarian option. We left Kalahari in search of something better than their offerings. Nachos has its own vegetarian section easily made vegan without dairy. What's missing from that section is the DELICIOUS vegetarian chimichanga. I ordered mine without cheese or sour cream and topped it with their fresh salsa. My husband had the wet burrito and an a la carte veggie chimi, liked them both equally. Omar provides great service and was prompt with more salsa that our young ones devoured. Thanks Nachos!

Most small taco places I would be skeptical, but this one is good. Quick service, no bullshit, tasty tacos. Get four.

Super friendly service. Food was decent quality but a little bland, but the service made it a worthwhile stop.

Great service and the food was excellent. My only complaint from this restaurant was that the chips were stale. Would definitely come again!

We had…read morebeen in town all week and were worn out by the expensive prices and not-so-good food at the convention center. So we elected to venture out of the resort for some Mexican food. AM I GLAD WE DID!! The reviews looked solid, so we landed on Casa Real. It was small and busy - oh, and COLD outside. We walked in, and the front area was packed. We put our name down, and they said 45 minute wait and asked if we could wait in our car or outside. Like fools, we waited outside. In t-shirts. In May. With a 48° temp and decent winds. After about 20 minutes, I walked back inside to see if we were moving up the list. This happened several times before the wait staff said, "You've been incredibly patient. I'll get you in next." That was a surprise, but she could see that were cold. : o) Now we could've gone anywhere else - Mexican food or not - but we were hell bent on Mexican food at this location. We could not understand why it was so busy. Many folks came in, saw the wait time, and left. Then it occurred to me when I looked at the shirts of the staff - we were there on Cinco de Mayo! What fools! Of all days to visit the small, quaint location was the one day you probably DIDN'T want to go due to how busy they were. But then we got in and got seated... Explosions of atmosphere, pure comedic behavior by our server (shorter male who was from out of state), and the food! Man, as good as our food was - dare I say the best Mexican food I've ever eaten?? - the server just sent it overt the top. He was so, so good. Timing was impeccable, attitude couldn't have been better, and he was b-u-s-y with multiple tables. My go-to is always ground beef enchiladas and tacos, but this day I got street tacos with shrimp. The others got a multitude of options as well. Everything we had, we were incredibly happy with the results. We all kept just saying, "MAN, that was great!" I would love, LOVE to have this in my hometown (many states away). But if I did, I would surely weigh in north of 300 pounds. Highly recommended, very authenticate, and quite possibly the best place to eat in Sandusky!
