I was reading restaurant reviews saying you don't go to Helen GA for the food. This restaurant was great and by far the best meal we had during our 4 day stay. We ordered the Brie, fried green tomatoes, and dumplings/ potstickers. Brie was tasty but I didn't try the others. Everyone was happy with them though. For dinner I had the salmon and it was good. It came with mashed potatoes and succotash. Both good, 4/5. Nothing knocked my socks off. My fiancé got the lasagne and it was delicious. The garlic bread it came with was 10/10. I really enjoyed the variety of the wine menu, there were a lot of options. Everyone said they liked their dinner, stuffed cabbage and seafood pot pie but nothing groundbreaking. We did not have dessert but heard they were great from a nearby table. read more

Do yourself a favor. If you are in the area (and by area I mean GA, FL, TN or the Carolinas), come enjoy Mully's! My wife and I shared the potstickers, she had the steak tips with mashed potatoes and green beans and I had the shrimp and grits. We even had chocolate pecan pie and peach cobbler for dessert. The music by Kurt Johnston (toured with Bon Jovi) was spot on. Perfect volume with songs from Louie Armstrong to James Taylor to the Beatles. He plays guitar and the piano and has a beautiful voice. If you do not meet Mully while you are there, you didn't really experience Mull's restaurant. He has never met a stranger and makes you feel like a guest in his home from the moment you walk in the door. He trains his staff impeccably. Logan did a great job with us, even offering his personal recommendations. There is a very cute bar and you will end up getting to know everyone there. All in all, Mully's is one of the reasons we come back to this area every year! read more

Mully's was outstanding! Even Mully was present and helping his team, who was short staffed on a busy holiday week. Teri took great care of us at the bar. The potstickers were delicious, even had two orders. Pork shank was some of the best we've had. The ribeye was cooked perfect to temperature, but could've been better seasoned for our liking. We arrived as soon as they opened so we were able to get a seat at the bar, but I'd recommend making a reservation as they were very busy. read more

I ordered the steak as it was a gluten free option but my first steak had brown gravy on it which I knew properly wasn't gluten free. The bartender confirmed with the chef and it was not. My family stopped in without reservations around 5pm. We were able to be seated. Service was spectacular with only a salad being forgotten, which turned out great because the entre portions are large. The food came quickly. Unfortunately, one person decided his meal wasn't what he wanted, so we ordered a different one - which also appeared quickly. The server was concerned, asked if everything was ok, then got Mully - who offered to comp 1/2 the one order - which wasn't asked for or necessary - but appreciated. Mully's....what can I say? Was introduced to this location @ a friend's b/d party. Since then we have been back numerous times. Occasionally it's an event, a b/d, a wedding anniversary. Mully ensures there is a sign at the entrance with congratulations and a small note board on the table noting the occasion. Special. Now, the cuisine is top notch, service is outstanding. But what makes Mully's special, is Mully himself. He never fails to stop @ every table and see how everyone is doing. We were seated right away and ordered drinks and green tomatoes as an appetizer. They were the best we've ever had! Moving on to the entrees. She got the chic parm and I got the chicken Marsala. Great local owned spot located not far from the main strip in Helen, Ga. There's an outdoor patio and the actual restaurant is an old home which gives it a cozy feel. While waiting on our table, we were greeted by the hostess and owner himself. We enjoyed the live music of the raspy songstress and hearing other guests laugh over a glass of local wine and chatter. I order the trout and my husband ordered the steak. The food was pretty good, but the collard greens stole the show!! Oh my goodness-this southern girl can not only cook them but I can definitely appreciate well cooked (and seasoned) collards! The owner came back to ask us about the meal and find out where we were from (he mentioned the collards were his mother's recipe). We definitely enjoyed trying this local fav. Clean with very well mannered staff. They do have on masks and clean bathrooms. The food had very pretty presentations and the chef is very artistic, however the flavor is just not there. The appetizer ravioli that we got was frozen, it had a little bit of a freezer aftertaste. I did confirm that the food was frozen with the waitress. The drinks were delicious, and I would certainly come there for a drink anytime. The owner was very very polite and brought us complimentary Champagne because it was our anniversary, although he did have a hard time telling me where the salmon was from which confirmed my frozen fish suspicion. The green beans did have a dirty aftertaste, which made me feel that the vegetables were not being washed properly, the desert also had a little bit of a burnt aftertaste. I do wish this Restaurant well because they are all very friendly and I can Tell that they want the business to thrive (the service was amazing) but, I would just highly suggest making food fresh, local caught, and add more appealing flavors added to their dishes. read more

A great place in the Georgia wine country for dinner, one of a few that takes reservations. Warning: The portions are big so one dish can be split. On our visit I had the seared tuna while my wife had the beef and noodles. While the tuna was right sized, my wife's dish was huge and could easily have been split. Service was on point by being timely but not overly intrusive, the food was hot, tasty and on time. The wine list was good but we did not order because we had done three wine tours during the day. Mully's was our last dinner in Helen and I want to say it was the best dinner we had throughout our entire trip. If you want a well-cooked, thoughtful meal, you need to come to Mully's. The staff is so warm and friendly, as well as attentive. We were very well taken care of. Apparently the menu changes here every night which is pretty cool. I would love to come back here again and try something different. For drinks, my friend and I love ciders and we were happy to know that handcrafted Atlanta cider was available, despite not being printed on the drinks list! I highly recommend trying this. It's dry but tastes great. For appetizer, we got the crab cakes which are supposed to be "large". I wouldn't say they are huge but they are certainly delicious and filling. We could barely finish them. They tasted so fresh! I ordered the spaghetti and meatballs for my entree which came with a side of (strong) garlic bread. It was a delicious meal and very satisfying. I have no complaints about this plate! My friend ate the salmon clean right off his plate. His wife enjoyed the spaghetti bolognese. My friend and I stopped in at Mully's while on a road trip to Helen. It is located off the main road before you get to the city center of Helen. The service was wonderful and our waitress was super sweet. The menu consisted of Southern home cooking and comfort foods. I opted for the shrimp and grits and my friend had the burger and fries. The breadcrumbs used tasted really stale. Crab cakes. Packed with crab; unfortunately none of it was lump. Just OK. Chicken Parmesan. Passable. The meat was thin but tender. The sauce was desperate for salt, sugar, basil, oregano... NY Strip. Biggest disappointment of the night, especially at that price point. I couldn't get one bite down. Tough, obviously frozen, and covered in fat. The taste was really off, so we just skipped it. The mashed potatoes were fine, but also in need of seasoning. None of the dishes were visually pleasing enough to photograph. Hoping the owner (who seems like such a good guy) works on his recipes and on making sure he's serving quality products. read more

From the very start to the end my new bride and I were impressed. The hostess and waitress were incredible with their service. The food was delicious and we both finished our plates not feeling hungry nor bloated. I recommend the shrimp and grits. While waiting for our food we listened to the live musician who is actually really good. Mully himself came and talked with us for quite a while and is very personable. Stopped in here on our night in Helen in August. We made our reservation through Yelp and arrived just in time. We were seated by the French doors, just on the opposing side of the live music, which was perfect for us, ordered our drinks (Tea) and an appetizer of Calamari. When the calamari came to the table it was super fishy and overly chewy like rubber bands. When I brought this up to the waitress, it was removed from the table and apologies were given. We were not charged for it and the manager came over to see if we wanted something else. We were fine. We totally understand that stuff happens. Mains were a hamburger for the husbeast and I got the pork loin, the food was absolutely delicious. The service was amazing and attentive. I would totally come back if I lived in the area. read more

If you're looking for an excellent place to dine for a southern food variety, then definitely come here! Great spot for lunch or dinner, a family outing or a date. It's quaint and beautiful with a great selection of food too! Their French Onion Soup is probably the best I've ever had in my life. Seriously. I always order it, even if I'm just stopping in for drinks with friends because I can't come here and not have it, it's that good. This place also has a full bar and live music, which makes it the perfect little spot for a romantic date too. The staff is impeccable, friendly, and knowledgeable not only about the food, but fun things to try around town. Parking can be tricky on weekend nights, but you can park behind the building to avoid most of it. I also love coming here for brunch and sitting outside on the porch.
