The food was great! I got the falafel pita and it was made perfectly. I've also been to places that put a lot of pickles in the wrap and this place got the ratio right. The service was very good as well. I ordered at the kiosk and it prompted me to go to the takeout when I heart my name called. Instead, they took my plated food with two sauce bottles (normally you pay for extra when taking out). The restaurant is very casual and a place I would feel comfortable eating in even by myself. My previous feedback when i wrote this review over a year ago, giving the place 4/5 stars, was the pita paper was too thin and stuck to the wrap making it hard to eat. they have updated the paper! 5/5 Overall, this place is fantastic and a great deal for good middle eastern food. Went here for a business lunch recommended by my colleague. Got a variety plate that included hummus, pita, rice, falafel, grape leaves. It was all very good. The grape leaves were served cold and have no meat. I prefer the warm grape leaves with at least beef and preferably lamb. The hummus was on point and the falafel was very good. Tried this place with my husband for dinner. We started off with grape leaves which were good. We then had Falafel Wrap and Mixed Grill. The falafel wrap was just ok so does the mixed grill. The sauces weren't as great as I feel they've water those down specifically the hot sauce. The ambiance was just ok. I took my family here cause we wanted something different. We showed up between lunch and dinner time. Looked like the owner of this business was busy doing some upkeep and other projects around the restaurant when we showed up. We ordered our food and sat at the front of the restaurant. The employees and the owner seemed distracted and unsure of what to do because they now had customers in the restaurant. we placed our order and got our food fairly quickly. Food preparation seemed amateur at best, rushed. portion size was great. I would have given this place a one star but, I can see the owner noticed we were not having the best experience and he showed my family some last minute kindness and hospitality. I feel like we visited this restaurant literally at the wrong time. I felt like they were in the middle of some renovating and we got in their way. THE PITA AND THE PENDULUM   My opinion of this Mediterranean restaurant has swung from 'good' to 'needs improvement'.   Pita Zone is in a Bolingbrook strip mall at the intersection of Weber Rd & Hassert; in this same area are a Subway, Dairy Queen and Otobo, our neighborhood sushi spot.   You might be better off ordering online; when I placed an order in-person for a gyro and wrap, it took 20 minutes before it was ready.  TWENTY.  That's a long time for a couple of fairly speedy items.  Down the street, COVO or Fill-a-Pita can whip this up for you in 4-5 minutes, tops.   Of these three places that offer gyros, Pita Zone's was the cheapest ($7.50).  Theirs was also the only one that included pickles on the sandwich (which my wife wasn't a fan of), but otherwise the gyro was fine.  You can add fries and a drink for $3.50.   I liked the beef shawarma wrap ($8.50) that came with lettuce, tomato, cucumber, onion, hummus and tahini sauce.  The lentil soup ($4) tasted pretty good.  I've gotten meat combos ($15) in the past that were fairly yummy and a decent value.   Last visit, I specifically asked for a side of yellow rice but they gave me a side of fries--and they weren't even good ones!  I was really looking forward to that delicious Mediterranean rice (I even clarified yellow rice in case they misheard me, but apparently that didn't do sh*t).   Just as I was getting my drink and leaving, I saw a bunch of ants in the soda fountain drip tray.  Not just a few, but a horde of black ants all over the place.  Apart from a rat stealing pizza, ants are one of the LAST things a customer wants to see at a restaurant.  Eeeeeee.   * TL;DR *   Pita Zone gets a 4/10 on the kebab-o-meter: despite some signs of promise (good value, decent tasting food), there were also lots of issues (inaccurate order, long wait times, bug sightings).   While I'm happy to support small businesses like this one, I think PZ's shortcomings have ruled themselves out of conversation at this point.  COVO/Fill-a-Pita are technically chains, but at least they've got their act together and I'm willing to pay a bit more for that professionalism.   Could do worse.  Could do better. read more

One of my sister's favorite, so I brought her here for her birthday lunch. She loves the falafel wrap and I needed a lamb fix, so I went for the kabobs. Cooked to perfection! A pretty good place to get in the zone for a pita and falafel. In Bolingbrook there's a shopping center and it has a few restaurants including this one. Pita Zone is among the better places. Fairly good prices on most of the items. The menu is friendly to vegetarians. Get a pita because it's what they focus on of course. It has a few to choose from. They have the usual kinds such as the Falafel Wrap. It's $6.99 for a pretty big one. This comes with cucumbers, hummus, lettuce, onions, pickles, tahini, and tomatoes. A nice thing is that it actually comes with plentiful falafel. This is crispy on the outside and chewy in the middle. A difference from other places is that it's not burnt. The best sides include the Fattoush Salad. It's $3.99 for a pretty big one. This has a vinaigrette dressing with cucumbers, mixed lettuce, onions, parsley, romaine, and tomatoes. Has some pretty good and healthy items. It also has pretty low prices. There's lots to choose for vegetarians. read more

I loved this restaurant before, because they prices were fair and the food was authenticity delicious and truly fabulous!!!! I'm so, so, soooo bummed out not only because their prices have gone way up (because lets face it so has the price on everything else on Earth) but also because the quality/ flavor of the rice is sadly, non-existent. The rice used to be darker orange/yellow, and now it is a fair, yellowish cream color. Before the flavor was robust and contributed to the other flavors found in the rest of the meal. Now, the rice is bland and mostly flavorless. My personal opinion is I'd rather they keep the less flavored rice and decrease the price of the meal. I think if they added some saffron, or some Jasmin, or even some garlic, it would be less insulting to my tastebuds than this bland stockpile of lightly colored rice. read more

We have been living in this area since August. This place was one of first middle Eastern spots we tried. We initially loved it. The chicken tikka was so good, flavored so well. The garlic sauce was delicious. The falafel wrap was also good. However the last 2 times, including today, the chicken tikka lacked flavor & salt. My husband got the mixed grill wrap, that too had no salt or any seasonings. It was all bad. I'm not sure if they got a new cook. Either way, consistency is key. Enjoyed some phenomenal & authentic Mediterranean food last Sunday at the Geneva location. I have a fondness for Mediterranean food and high quality Mediterranean food is hard to come by. Ordered from here this month for an event at work. The pitas were good in my opinion, however, many employees were not fans. That's what I get for venturing off from the norm - live and learn. I personally enjoyed the falafel. Fries were cold but that's to be expected when ordering 100 items to be delivered. Ordered via ezcater and complained the boxed lunches didn't come with drinks per the description. Pita Zone didn't care and fought me on it, hope you enjoyed your $15 you robbed me of?? What happened to the customer (or what is online) is right??!! Had I known I could've planned on my end, very disappointed in their response. They showed 20mins late which put all our staff behind on lunches. Overall... I will not be ordering again. Not worth the headache for company events if you're going to show one thing and nickel and dime me in the end. This is our favorite Mediterranean spot in the area. I like to get the Chicken schwarma meal which comes with the basmati rice. The last time I ordered it came with hummus (instead of garlic sauce) which was great! It's a big portion, enough to save some for the next day. Look out for specials or coupons. I traveled from Austin TX to Chicago on a business trip and have to say that Pitz Zone is one of the best Mediterranean restrauants I have visited. I was very impressed with this new discovery! My girlfriend who is Greek introduced me to this and I just love it! If you're doing a low carb / high protein diet this place is totally to go. I thought it was super cheap for what you got. The spices weren't overpowering which I thought I'd dislike but nope I really enjoyed it!
