Been to four different naf nafs, and oddly each successive one is worse than the previous. (Sadly my favorite location closed) Today's visit was to the Aurora location. It was hot AF in store, the menu screens were off (luckily I've been before so I knew what I wanted), Dude behind the counter seemed angry he had to be at work, maybe he was having a bad day, it happens. Forgot both my hot sauces, my fiancee's tahini, and the pita that came with my bowl. The pitas, the three pitas we did end up getting were somehow all completely different, in taste, texture, and doneness. None of which were good. Definitely not the cloud like wonderfulness that I'm used to! My chicken shwarma while having good flavor was very dry. I cannot recommend this location. read more

I used to be an avid fan of Naf Naf- sad to say that I will never return. Visited this location and was presented with a grouchy, rude employee. The entire time I ordered, I felt as if I was a nuisance. For the $10 I paid, I couldn't help but laugh at what portions I received. My pita wasn't fully baked, doughy and raw on the inside. 4.5 stars for me! Such a great option for a pretty healthy fast casual meal. I stopped in for a carry out dinner for myself since my husband was out of town. I had a hankering for Mediterranean food and my trusty Yelp app reminded me of Naf Naf! This restaurant has been here for years now and I know there are other locations yet I still hadn't given them a try. I walked up to the counter and ordered the falafel plate. For my sides I chose Jerusalem salad and rice and then I got an additional side of hummus and a fountain drink. I was shocked when I went to pay and was told the total was $17 considering this was a "fast food" meal for one, but I actually was given a lot of food. Enough to have a second meal with leftovers! Everything was delicious! The falafel was crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside which I love. I wasn't much a fan of their tzaziki sauce though. For some reason it had a burnt taste to me. The Jerusalem salad had yummy fresh ingredients and the rice and hummus were perfection as well. My meal and the hummus came with a side of Pita bread and oh my goodness is that Pita something else! It's literally like a fluffy cloud of Pita pocket heaven. So good. Naf Naf is a great option for something healthy and quick and since it's right by my house I'm sure I'll be back the next time I have a craving! read more

I have been to 3 different Naf Naf locations including the one at the Mall of America in Minnesota and the consistency of their food is a big positive. I love the beef tenderloin and the kifta Kabab pita sandwiches and their fries and sauces are super delicious. The chipotle style Mediterranean/Mid Eastern food places have opened up at every nook and corner but this place really rocks with fast, tasty options that tend to be on the healthier side compared to your run of the mill fast food joints. read more

Used to be good. I don't know what happened. We used to come here as a a family of five and three plates would fill us up and more. Now, the plates are sparse and each plate only comes with one pita - used to be two. And they've raised prices to 12-16$ an entree. And the tables are always disgusting and sticky. The kabobs are still great, the swarma is dry and greasy at the same time, the Israeli salad is refreshing, and the falafel are fresh and crispy, but they've priced themselves out of their market and I don't think we will be back. read more

The food here is so fresh and flavorful, I can't wait to go back! Too bad there aren't any very close to my home. So it has to be a special trip. :) The chicken schwarma is my go-to. The pita bread is so soft and fluffy - like little clouds of gluten. I could much on those all day. The last time I went there, they no longer had "plates" options, where you could get a plate of the items. You had to get it in a bowl or on a pita. Placed our order online on Saturday 12/10/16 on our way back to our hotel in Warrenville. I ordered the chicken shawarma plate w/ a side of hummus and tabouli. My husband went w/ the chicken shawarma plate w/ hummus and their cabbage and added a chicken thigh skewer . The pita is freakin delicious! Their red and green sauces are amazing especially their green!! I will most definitely rave about it to everyone when I tell them about this place. The chicken was flavored perfectly. The only thing I didn't care for was their tahini sauce. The price is definitely worth it and you can most definitely get more than one meal out of it. We go to the Naf Naf in Orland Park regularly. Its great! The food and staff were just fine here, no problems. The issue is that everything is way more expensive at this location and almost everything costs extra. At the other locations, when you order a sandwich or bowl, you go down the line and they add what you want (Chipotle/Subway style). This is great, you get exactly what you want with no surprises. Here, however, half of the toppings cost extra. Literally, it costs extra for some shredded red cabbage. I don't get it. Instead of a customized $11 meal like you get at their other locations. You pay $17 for something that doesn't even come with all the stuff you want included. Again, however, I have no issue with the quality of the food or the staff. read more

Eating a hot, fresh, pillow-y Naf Naf Grill pita is, I think, a lot like being a part of that Jonestown get-up and drinking the Kool Aid (probably).. except with, ya know, less death. Like, none. Pretty sure they're operating at a 100% success rate in the keeping-everyone-alive-while-on-or-near-the-premises department. I mean, I have no way of knowing for sure (about the Kool Aid drink-age thing). None of us do. But I can, will, and and am very prepared to speculate on it all. Anyway, the base point I'm trying to make here is that it really only takes one poke of a pita to become a devout follower of all things Naf Naf. I've been frequenting the original Naf Naf since it's first (and far less chic) days back on Ogden avenue in the old Taco Bell space (now located in the far fancier Freedom Drive digs), but this was my first ever time at *this* particular Naf Naf. VERDICT: Above and beyond. Like, I think this location might even top the first one. Enthusiastic. Complimentary. Spirited... ^ ^ ^ the staff are all of the above and then some. I'd originally only popped in to grab a pack of pitas to-go, but thennnn... you know how it goes. I started to look at the menu (which is exactly the same as the other location - a good thing) and then one thing led to another and all of a sudden I'm standing at the end of the line with red-blinking pager thing waiting for dinner for 4 with apps, sides, and dessert to come up. I couldn't help it. All our food was perfect and came up lickety-split + when I was ordering, the cashier girl complimented my hair and I know that could just be a thing they do, but I'm telling you, it felt really genuine. KABABS are the KA-BOMB! Yes I said it. The Chicken Breast Kabob plate char-grilled white meat is so tender and juicy you would want to stop time to savor every bite. I didn't realize it came with 2 sides until the cashier mentioned it. The basmati rice is great and traditional however their homemade fries is what stood out. I love love love the NafNaf Grill! It's clean, relatively fast and the food is very well prepared! My favorite is Chicken Schwarma both in a bowl and in a pita! The falafel is also great... the menu is simple and the bowls and pita sandwiches are slathered with hummus and that cucumber/tomato salad topped off with tahini. There are two hot sauces available... the green is spicy and flavorful, while the red is a bit too hot for me. They also have individually wrapped pieces of baklava... sticky and cloying sweet the salted caramel baklava is orgasmic and so sweet...but sooo delicious! When I was in Greece, I saw the Shawarma being made and always thought that it might just be a different kind of gyros. Naf Naf takes the guess work out of the process. Our first time there, I had the Chicken Shawarma and I didn't mess around with it (I have a tendency to do that) I got it the way it reads on the menu... full of Israeli salad and tahini.... YUM. The second time I tried the Beef Tenderloin, once again the way it's described.. delicious! I really like the hot sauce.. particularly on their very wonderful Falafel. I find it to be mildly spicy and packed with flavor. The Nan (Pita) is soft and wonderful. The fries are made like potatoes chips, but not crispy, they are quite good. Naf Naf has a good website where the nutritional info is available. As a relative NOOB, one of the things I love about the place is the cleanliness and their efficiency. I may have been led here by the Lord! I was on my way to get a slice of pizza or Mexican or something. I just didn't know what I wanted. I took my break from work and drove straight here, which was very strange because I've never before been here. The guy behind the counter asked if it was my first time since I was so carefully considering the menu. I said it was. He then offered me a sample of the chicken shwarma and a falafel ball: both tasted fresh and delicious. I ordered the shwarma pita combo and added two falafel balls. Everything was so fresh and tasted fantastic! Even the hummus and tahini sauces in the pita were just right. The green spicy chimichurri stuff was great too. What looked like house made chips were not. They were "hello, nice to meet you" flat fries in my opinion. I'm seriously impressed. The only thing I'm disappointed in is myself, for eating all of it and feeling full fort afternoon at work. I will be back for lunch. read more

How do I begin? Oh, I know...I wish I lived closer. I would be here once a week, I'm fairly certain. Their pitas are like little homemade pita-pillows. They are delectable as fine chocolate, light as air and fresher than an apple directly off a tree. They melt in your mouth like M&M's in your hand. Yes, I can go on for days about how amazing their pitas are. And I might get back to them a little further in my review...but I can tell you that you have to try them to know what I'm talking about. So, my fiance and I were in the area for an appointment and I know how much I love Naperville and how rarely I visit, so we decided to grab a bite and try to keep it on the cheap. The single $ sign on Yelp and 4 stars led us here. To begin, they are kinda set up like Chipotle. I have to be honest and say that this may devalue the place a little for me. I get the concept: order at the counter, fill up your drink, find a table, wait to be paged, collect your food. I have no issue with this at all. Just the layout makes this a bit of a "Mediterranean Chipotle" for me. No great thrill about the same old dining scene. When I walked in, that's exactly what crossed my mind. My favorite points: -They offer both Coke Zero and Sprite Zero---total score!! Too bad, I am watching my soda intake and sodium, so I skipped the soda during this visit. -The food is prepared in front of you. You can stand at the counter and watch your meal prepared. -FRESHEST pitas known to man! (sold by the bag at the counter- kinda wish I grabbed a bag of them) -Wait time is minimal. We both ordered the Chicken Schawarma pitas. No healthier pita option available. But totally worth the calories. I didn't read the sign well enough to know that hummus is used as a spread on the sandwich. Next time, I will ask for it on the side and you may want to, as well, if you are like me and only like a little hummus. My fiance, however, asked for everything on the side except the salad portion, so his hummus is in a little container in our fridge at home right now. Thank you, hunny, I'll enjoy that later. I only got the pita sandwich, he added the side and drink for the $2.50. Went for the "fries". They are more like home fries or chips, even. And delish!! I snuck a few. I just couldn't help myself. They obviously take pride in their restaurant and I was pleased to see the employee cleaning on the floor almost the entire time we were there. Garbage was emptied and there wasn't a pile of baskets at the garbage area. They were on top of it. Impressive. It wasn't the busiest place in the world, but it seemed a lot of people order to go and take it home. I would do the same but we live too far to take home. Things to work on: -The young lady who took our order told us that lettuce, onion and tomatoes made up the Israeli salad that tops the Chicken Shawarma pita sandwiches. When we got our food, it was cucumber, tomato and onion. Not a problem for me who LOVES cucumbers, but my fiance doesn't really care for them. No lettuce to be found. I was quite disappointed to find that their email doesn't work and more so, that I have no way to request or find out this information. It's pretty awesome and the fact that you can keep your caloric intake to a minimum is an advantage (even if I don't know the exact calorie count, it's not Portillo's Beef calories). They want to be more like Chipotle now except the food taste terrible and you get substantially less. It was actually funny looking at the pita sandwich. The pita is heavenly soft, and I don't know why more mediterranean places can't serve such a soft, fresh pita like this. Get a side of Lentil soup. It's a nice hearty texture without all the chunkiness. Smooth and great in the winter. The falafel is a nice vibrant green with a crispness to the outside that breaks nicely when eating. It definitely hasn't been over-fried and is fresh every time my wife orders it. I really tried to find time to get to Naf Naf Grill. With the phenomenal reviews how could I possibly have a bad experience. Now, I read a review that compared Naf Naf to Chipotle. I kind of agree. Different menu obviousely, but identical set up. Also, the options are very few, just like Chipotle. I'm not a huge fan of this personally and that is the only reason Naf Naf got four stars as opposed to five from me. The food was very tasty and definitely fresh. After just one visit, Naf Naf became a new addiction. It's probably a good thing that I don't live close by. Andrew T lives close so when we visit him, we will be back. This is a clean bright store front in a strip mall, but don't let that fool you. The food is not the commercial stuff that you might expect on a street with every fast food and chain restaurant known to man. This one is a family run place with excellent Middle Eastern food. In one visit I could only try one thing. It will be hard not to have it again, but the menu is much larger than one item obviously. You need to go as a good sized group so you can try several things. I loved my chicken shoarma sandwich. The bread was soft but not thick. The chicken was seasoned well and the entire thing was moist and delicious, with delicious hummus, etc. It reminded me of a good torta de pollo that you might get in a good taqueria. While there was no sign of raw onions on the shoarma, I could taste onion all day the next day (and yes I do brush my teeth and use mouthwash). This is the price you have to pay, I guess. It is hard to imagine finding better chicken shoarma. Naf Naf is a gem! read more

Ordered the chicken Shawarma pita. In the past this has been made fresh and the chicken was cut directly off the rotisserie. Today it was sitting in a condiment bowl. I questioned if what he was putting in my pita was Shawarma? I was told it was. When I got home I noticed the pita was burned on one side. I took my first bite, & I could tell the chicken was old and dried out. The Shawarma pita tasted like crap and my dinner was ruined. Naf Naf Grill is a bit of a confusing chain, as for whatever reason they've got multiple locations but the way you order at them is different. We often go to the Naf Naf up near the Allstate Arena and the ordering process there is much more similar to Chipotle, which I massively prefer. At the other locations, you watch them make your pita sandwich and you can tell them how much or how little of each ingredient you want in it. At the Aurora location, you just order your food and they give you a buzzer. I feel like even if I try to completely explain what I want, it never turns out as good as it does at other locations. That being said, Naf Naf is some top-tier Mediterranean food. It's a little expensive for fast-ish food, but I think the quality more than makes up for it. But, for real, if the Aurora location has been your only Naf Naf experience, definitely try another location as the alternative ordering process is vastly superior. read more

How have I not reviewed this spot yet? It's always a great treat to dine here. It has been a while since I stopped in here but I always can use a bowl of their great lentil soup. I've never deferred from the chicken shawarma in a pita, as it is so satisfying. I miss the early days when the pickles weren't limited and they had real silverware... but understand the changes with the incredible growth of this company. First time at this naf naf location, at first I was confused at the menu and ordering process, I hadn't realized that the menu differs by location. The locations that I've been prior are order as they make your food; while this location is order from the menu and they'll notify you when you're food is ready. Opted to order take out here and ordered a couple veggie feast. They usually prepare the veggie feast in a single take out plate; however, the falafel end up getting soggy and doesn't travel well, so I asked if they would be able to package the individual items separately, in which they happily did! One slight hiccup was that they forgot to package the falafels; which they corrected fairly quickly and offered a couple extra pitas as well for the error. Overall was really impressed with the customer service at this location. The food at naf naf is fairly consistent across all locations so never disappoints! read more

Naf Naf is a place that I've gone to a few times and while their menu is not vast, your experience will definitely depend on what you order and what flavors you like. It seems a lot of people are afraid to try Mediterranean food, but the basics are similar from Greece to Lebanon. I have tried the chicken shwarma (just OK.) and beef kefta (very greasy and not a good fit with the other flavors on the plates or in the pitas as well as the sides). Those were the items I didn't enjoy that much, but other items I've enjoyed greatly. The chicken breast kabob pita is very good for a not that heavy lunch. The hummus and Israeli salad inside go well with the chicken and the pita itself is bordering on addictive. If you get a plate, you still get a pita, but also 2 of Israeli Salad, Fries (really tasty and not that greasy fresh cut ones) or a Basmati Rice, that is decent. The schnitzel is also good-breaded, but not too heavily coated-and while I have yet to try the beef tenderloin, I plan on doing so as it has looked tasty on plates of fellow diners. Not that I stare at others plates, that would be rude! I tend to give a lot of 4 star ratings, maybe because I'm just such an optimist, but this is a good occasional lunch place that makes a few things well. And they have baklava for dessert! read more

We went as a group of 14 and ordered a bunch of veggie plates, extra pitas, falafels and babaganoush platters. Each dish turned out really well. Special mention must be made of their pitas taht were extremely extremely light, airy and delicious, served warm right out of the oven.
