Yum! I love Naf Naf as a "premium fast food." I've tried a few things, but I always go back to the Chicken Shwarma. If you are not familiar, shwarma is the meat on a spit that rotates and gets roasted, then shaved off. I think it's a combo of both light and dark meat? Anyway it's tasty and the pitas are always perfectly fresh. Actually, everything I've ever had there seems really fresh! If you are a heat-wimp like me, be careful with the green sauce (s'khug) that they give on the side, it is HOT. My favorite fast food (yet nutritional) is my favorite go to Mediterranean spot around the Chicago land area. Everything is always fresh with the right amount of ingredients and never have complained that they didn't give me enough protein or veggies. If you ever chose to make your own sandwich and get more out of your bucks, get a salad version instead and they give you a pita on the side that you can fill up for yourself and have a little salad left over as well! read more

I really wish I could give 5 stars because I LOVE the chicken shawarma here. However literally every time we order online from work they mess it up! Have ordered three times and have never gotten the sauces we requested, or the pickles. Why is it so hard!? Today I made a point to ask for garlic sauce since I noticed there were only a few little cups and we had 8 orders all requesting garlic sauce. She rolled her eyes and grabbed a few more. What happened to Naf Naf?!? We've ordered and enjoyed the food here for years, but today they served up a big fat plate of "We don't care!" Our steak dinners were a pile of shaved beef in something resembling El Paso taco seasoning. They used to serve quality steak. But tonight we got a plate of god-knows-what in an orange taco sauce? It was disappointing in the extreme. The large hummus plate was paltry compared to what it used to be. Same with the baklava. I don't know if hard times brought on by COVID are the reason or not, but Naf Naf has clearly opted to go with cheaper ingredients and smaller portions. WOW WOW WOW!!! THis is one of the best places I have eaten at this year. My friend told me about this place and at first I was a little reluctant to try it. Normally I am not a fan of middle eastern / mediterranean food but this place is to die for. I am in love. When you start out you have to decide if you want a pita or a plate. Basically the pita is a smaller portion and a plate is a large portion. Then you decide what type of meat you want in it. I choose the beef tenderloin. Then they add hummus and a type of Israeli salad to it and they have a tahini sauce they add to it. They also serve falafel and shawarma. I would recommend this place to anyone who enjoys authentic middle eastern style food. read more

I just don't understand what this business is trying to accomplish. They have now changed their method of ordering and its a huge mistake. In the past you'd order then sit and wait for your number/name to be called. Now its like Subway, order then go down the line and tell them what you want. If you happen to be behind someone with a larger order you are then stuck waiting till they get all their different choices selected. What a waste of time for customers. Also since all the food is sitting there waiting to be put into bowls/pitas its ALL COLD. I was there after the main lunch rush with a total of 2 other customers but because the person in front of me was ordering for 4 I stood there and waited 20 minutes just to get my order selected even though I was asked 3 times what I wanted. Once I did sit and start eating I found the food to be completely cold and my pita had very little of anything in it. They even had the nerve to charge me extra because I asked for more sauce, which was never the case before. To top this all off one of the employees was having an issue with a nose bleed. Hey, it happens. But THE MANAGER told the employee to sit at one the dining tables for a while till the bleeding stopped. So I sat there in horror as this employee sitting 2 tables away from me was repeatedly wiping blood from their nose into napkin after napkin while I was trying to eat. DISGUSTING!!! It's obvious that the Manager has ZERO experience with food service since he told the employee to sit in the dining area with a gushing nose bleed while customers are trying to eat. This place is a must for everyone that likes middle eastern cuisine. These are THE BEST PITA'S ever soft warm pillowy bundles of love! I have always loved Chicken Shawarma and it is one of my favorite dishes . But I have to say these were the Best I have ever eaten anywhere! They tell you to get some pickles and hot sauce rom the counter and I wish I could purchase bottles of that sauce. My daughter and I both ate there on Saturday, didnt eat out anywhere else in the days preceding (have not eaten anywhere else since) and no one in our family is ill at home. Wow. This place was awesome! From the chicken schwarma on a pita (which I ordered) to the falafel, this place had amazing food. The best pita I've ever had, it was warm and soft...filled with all of the goodness of the chicken schwarma, hummus, cucumber salad, and other toppings. Before I forget.... I must write my review about Naf Naf Grill. I was a doubter. A Pita Inn purist. No place could ever compare or compete. In some aspects, I will eat my hat, because Naf Naf was indeed delicious. In other aspects though, Pita Inn still wins. 1. Location. The closest Naf Naf to me is at least 45 minutes away, with most locations much further. +1 Pita Inn. There are 3 Pita Inn's within 45 minutes of my house, the closest being 10 minutes away, in traffic. 2. Price. For almost $14, I got a chicken shawarma sandwich, small baba ghannouj, and fountain drink. For $14 at Pita Inn, I could've fed my whole family, not just myself. +1 Pita Inn. 3. Pitas. I cannot lie, the pitas at Naf Naf are pillows of deliciousness. I do enjoy the chewy pitas at Pita Inn, but these were a delicious change of pace. +1 Naf Naf. 4. Baba Ghannouj. I was glad that this baba was not chunky or overly smoky (a la Roti) but it was lacking something that I just could not put my finger on. +1 Pita Inn. 5. Shawarma sandwich. I don't normally do just sandwiches at Pita Inn because you can get so much more for your money. However, this sandwich was stuffed to the gills with wonderfully seasoned chicken shawarma, hummus, and cucumber salad. A nice departure from iceberg, tomato, and tahini. Next time, I would order without the hummus. +1 Naf Naf. 6. Selection. I do still prefer Pita Inn's menu. I've waited and waited for an opportunity to try Naf-Naf Grill after reading a TON of great reviews. And, finally, my husband, my daughter and I, made it to the Aurora location yesterday. Addicted is the first word that came to mind at this moment aside from thoughts of "gosh~this is going to ruin my low-carb diet life style!". Middle Eastern food fair is not as familiar of a cuisine to my tastebud. Although, I have had some but, I can't say that I know enough about this type of cuisine to be an expert as other ethnic cuisines that I've had plenty of. HOWEVER, good food is good food. As a person who LOVES food, I know that Naf Naf Grill offers really good food. The restaurant adopted the Chipotle concept: Clean, fresh, tasty food prepared fresh simple and clean. And, the pricing is reasonable for what they are. Not cheap but, just right. There is no skimping on ingredients and what you pay for is what you will be getting. (Fair-is a good start, right?) As our first attempt trying the restaurant we ordered a variety of different items from the menu: Chicken Shawarma Sandwich, the Veggie Feast, Lentil Soup, and Fries. Chicken Shwarma - Juicy chicken shavings straight from the rotating spit. The chicken is nicely grilled, char but not dried, accented with a light curry seasoning. The sandwich is topped with a creamy hummus & tahini sauce and a cucumber salad. The pita bread is light, chewy and soft. What a wonderfully well put together combo to a refreshing & light tasting sandwich. Yum! I can eat three of these, no problem! (P.S. - if I do, I will workout for 3 hours just so I can eat three of these, how's that for a healthy eater? Hehehe~) The Veggie Feast - A combo platter of all the vegetarian sides that they offer; Hummus, Baba Ghanoush, Purple Cabbage Salad, Tabule & Falafels. This comes with three of those HEAVENLY fluffy, light & chewy pita breads. Even as a big time meat eater I find this platter satisfying. Hummus was good, tasted light and creamy. The Baba Ghanoush was my favorite, it is garlicky and eggplant-y (so so, good!). The Falafels were fried (obviously) but, light and crunchy on the outside and moist, lightly curry seasoned on the inside. (For a fan of "not eating anything fried" I say, one shall forgive one-self for liking Naf-Naf Falafels) The purple cabbage salad was Cole Slaw like tasting with a light garlicky seasoning (p.s. made with mayo). On a side note, this Veggie Feast usually is served with a heavy drizzle of olive oil. As a person who watches caloric intake quite seriously, I asked the cashier to skip "drizzling the oil" to keep this dish 30-40 grams less fat than it would of added (even if it is healthy oil, I'm sure the ingredient in the dish already possess plenty of, just a thought). The Tabule salad tasted like a condiment to me, it is parsley-y, lemon-ny, light and refreshing. It helped clean my taste pallets between the hummus, baba ghanoush & the falafels. Oh...and once again, those LIGHT, FLUFFY, LIGHT and CHEWY Pita breads that comes with the platter~I cannot say enough good things about it! Lentil Soup - dense and creamy. Lightly seasoned with curry, garlic and curly parsley. Pretty good, but I won't say it is the best that I've ever had. Fries - unlike "Match Stick" like fries, these are triangularly chopped potato slices that are lightly seasoned with just salt. Because these "chips" were thin enough that when we first got it they were crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. By the end of lunch, they had harden and became more of a "crisp" like chips. To sum up my review, I am kind of glad that I live "close enough but far enough" from this place. If I were to live too close, I will probably eat there once a day. But, I don't live far enough that if I want it, it won't take me too long to get there. I am sooooo looking forward to my next visit to Naf-Naf Grill in, just about, three more days! I know, call me crazy. Naf-Naf Grill is THAT Tasty to me. Yummy, Delicious, Healthy~Feel somewhat guilty for eating all that bread BUT, I'll tell me self "it's all healthy" GOOD! So, we tend to let everyone know when a restaurant stinks, and give it a 4 if we love it. 5 stars are really only if we can find no fault. Well, Naf Naf gets 5 stars. We knew we were headed to a middle eastern fast food restaurant. Being our experience with this cuisine is hummus on our wheat thins, who knew what we would like? Everything. We ordered the shawarma chicken plate, with pitas, Israeli salad and Basmati rice. the rice had a great flavor but not overpowering. The shawarma was awesome and along with the puffy pita and salad made one heck of a sandwich. I like the spicy stufff, so I got the sauce by the pick up counter. Big yum. One kid got the Kifta Beef Kabob PIta. He was expecting a hamburger mock up. It wasn't. But it had such a great tender flavor, we loved it. The other kid got the hummus with shawarma on top. She is the picky one. She ate the hummus, loved the pita and the chicken. Score! We also got the baba ganouch, falafel (best I ever had) and the lentil soup (great). So, other than the schnitzel and the coke zero, we pretty much ordered everything they offered. It was all fresh, flavorful, and delicious. Mr. said this was his new favorite restaurant like, four bites in. Did we mention the pitas were so fresh and delicous I might as well have been trying the food for the first time. I never had a pita like that, and future pitas will pale in comparison. If I had a complaint it was that there is no room for the Jamba Juice next door when I get done here. I am so used to crunching into poorly made and overfried falafels, I was completely dumbstruck when I took my first bite here. The patties are perfectly prepared, with a lightly fried, crispy outside and fluffly inside. The pitas were warm and soft. The hummas was creamy and had a pleasant taste. The sauces perfectly complemented the falafel and veggies. I also had their lentil soup, which was hearty and tasty. Customer service was awful today when my preschool foodie and I went here. It started off with my asking the order person if they have a kids food option. She said, "No we don't. We aren't very kid friendly." I chalked it up to she was having a bad day. Then after ordering and getting my total, I went to get cash to pay, I handed her a $10 while going through my wallet for more money to pay. As I'm doing this, she goes, "So you're paying with a $10?" My total was $17 and change. I was getting the rest of the cash as she said that and I was about ready to be like, "give me my $10 back and get an attitude adjustment!" I just got the cash and gave it to her and decided if she wanted to be a B, that's on her. It's also why I have changed my review on yelp. The only reason why I'm giving 2 stars is because the food was delicious and close to what I remember (it's been a few years since I've been here.) Yummy! I've never had Chicken Shawarma before but Naf Naf is setting the bar really high and I'm not sure it gets much better. I have had Pitas many times before but I think Naf Naf pitas are by far the best I've ever had. My husband and daughter thought the hummus on the pitas was really tasty (I'm just not a fan of hummus so I didn't have them put it on mine). We ordered the Baba Ghanoush with the Pita and found it good but not outstanding. The Israeli Salad on the pitas is wonderful, it just makes it all taste so fresh. I would highly recommend this restaurant, it is so clean, easy to order your food and just tastes fantastic! Looking forward to trying their basmati rice and homemade fries!! read more
