I love Middle Eastern food. Since I'm spoiled rotten, I've had the opportunity to eat this wonderful food directly from the source in Egypt and Jordan. While I don't hold local restaurants to the standards of eateries abroad, I have discerning tastes. When Naf Naf Grill, a chain of fast-casual, build-your-own dish restaurants, I was curious. Would it satisfy my tastes? Naf Naf Grill has a small menu, but with its various mix-and-match options, the possibilities are broad. The customer chooses either chicken shawarma, steak or falafel. Once that choice has been made, he or she then chooses to have it in pita, bowl (with rice, couscous, hummus, or baba ganoush), salad, or on a plate. There are various fixings and sauces, as well (the tahini is great!). Dishes can be paired with Naf fries or lentil soup. The Naf fries are essentially homemade potato chips and are mediocre. I chose the chicken shawarma, which was good - but not great. Ordering my meal to-go was easy, but it had to be completed online. Due to Covid, the manager was happy to do a curbside delivery, which I appreciated. Naf Naf Grill is not the best Middle Eastern food in Indianapolis. I went here twice and the service was very different both times. Food was ok, as a middle eastern i definitely had better. I really enjoy places that provide multiple options- girl dinner vibes. First time the portions were small and I had to keep reminding the server to add more. Second time my friend wanted to try it out and it was way better. Everything here was absolutely delicious! The pitas were so fresh. Loved the steak shawarma - flavors were fantastic. The garlic sauce and green sauce made things pop. The fresh chips weren't my favorite as I like my chips a little more crisp. I preferred the steak over the chicken. read more

Stop by the Indiana Ave location the first week they opened. Pretty decent for chain middle eastern food. I really enjoyed the falafel. The fried potatoes/chips were a nice surprise as a side item. I got a standard platter with chicken. Not a ton of options on what you can put on your platter, but they did give lots of food to make you feel like you got your money's worth. My first time checking out Naf Naf Grill was a pleasant experience. Serving middle eastern food in a fast food style that can be enjoyed dining in or takeaway style. You choose your entree (pita or bowl) and move down the line to add ingredients as you wish. I opted for a 1/2 and 1/2 salad bowl with hummus instead of rice or couscous and chicken schnitzel. The lettuce is green which I love. Give me a green salad and it's a go, but pale, wilty, white or brown lettuce is a no go for me. Even a good wedge salad should be green. I opted for all toppings and both Tahini and garlic sauce. Now I am not a hummus fan but it works well in this bowl. Staff was friendly and plentiful at 5 employees. It was nice outside so I chose to eat outside at one of the tables in front of Naf Naf grill. They have lots of seating inside. Definitely will visit again. read more

Been eyeing this place for a while but never ordered until today. WOW. Chipotle concept but with so many flavors! I got the chicken shawarma rice bowl. It was outstanding - chicken was juicy, toppings were fresh and crisp, and all of the sauces were to die for (garlic, red and green hot sauce). The hot sauces pack a nice punch! Had a bowl with the rice and baba with steak and the works on top and a scoop of hummus. The pita bread was really good. I actually had a long enough lunch break today to go out for lunch. Yay! This is actually only about a 5 minute walk from my office, and they were super-efficient, so I need to remember this would be do-able even with a shorter break than I had today. The food was delicious! I love falafel, and the falafel pita was great. The falafel was crispy on the outside and tender, moist and nicely seasoned inside. There are a ton of choices here, but they make it easy. For the pita sandwiches, you have a choice of hummus or baba ghanoush. I went with the baba ghanoush and it was excellent. You then pick your protein, a sauce, I went with tahini, and toppings which included a great variety of vegetables. Everything was fresh and flavorful. Even the pita was fresh, and it held up nicely to all the filling. I didn't even need to resort to using a fork as often happens if pitas start falling apart; this one did not. As a vegan, this place has been an absolute godsend for a high-protein meal. I eat here almost weekly. The hummus bowl is absolutely delicious and I love that it comes with a warm, fluffy pita on the side. The staff is extremely friendly and do remember you. I recommend all the veggies but the middle eastern pickles are **extra** delicious. The restaurant is also extremely responsive over DoorDash. Tried Naf Naf Grill for the first time yesterday and it was delicious. I enjoy Middle Eastern cuisine but used to have to drive farther away to get it, so it's nice to have a close option! I ordered the falafel sandwich and a side of baba ghanoush with pita. Their website was very easy to navigate and the online order option is especially appreciated during the pandemic. When I arrived to pick it up, the staff were friendly and welcoming and all of them wore masks. The restaurant itself was clean and spacious and I'm excited to dine in once it's safe again. The menu lists a solid variety of items, including vegetarian options. Naf Naf is right by IUPUI and IU Health and seems like a great lunch spot for people who work or go to school nearby. I was in Indianapolis for a four day conference and ate Naf Naf three times while I was there. I am not joking. My first meal was falafel in a pita- the bread was pillowy and soft but didn't fall apart. The falafel was crispy and flavorful- not a mush but a nice texture of well seasoned chick peas, parsley, etc. Yum. I topped it off with lovely tahini and nafziki which is some kind of melted gold magicness. Sumac onions- yum. My eyes almost rolled back in my head over how good it was, but I stayed conscious long enough to go back to the counter and order some hummus (and more of that glorious pita) for my lunch the next day. I am a hummus snob and this hummus was fantastic. And I topped off my meal with flaky, honey-soaked baklava. Phenomenal. I came back two days later- with a friend from the conference who'd never had Middle Eastern food before. Luckily she was willing to try something new. The staff were super welcoming and friendly and let her taste things she'd not tried (or even heard of) before, and didn't make us feel dumb with all of our questions. She ended up with the stuffed pita with steak, and I had falafel with couscous this time. We also both got the fries, with the recommended dip of garlic sauce with a touch of harissa. First of all how do you make couscous taste that good? It was freaking delicious. And I don't know what kind of spells they are casting over those fries but she and I both agreed they were the best fries ever- they're sort of curved but large like a potato wedge but not thick- can't explain it but they were delicious! Plus more baklava- she said she'd been converted to Middle Eastern food and would look for a restaurant in her hometown when she went back home! The restaurant was clean, plenty of parking, pretty close to the college campus, and convenient to my hotel. NafNaf I need you to open a location in Cincinnati so I can eat here all of the time! I ordered this for delivery off Uber eats because I wanted to get something different for lunch. I did a little bit of googling for the different sauce options and other ingredients because I was unfamiliar. I ended up going with the chicken rice bowl. I added couscous, chopped salad, purple cabbage, pickles, and tabouli. For sauces I got both on the side: tahini and garlic. The garlic sauce was delicious. I did not like the tahini at all, but also had no idea what it would taste like so I'm glad I got it on the side. When the food arrived it was room temperature and I decided to heat it up. I'm not sure if that's how it's supposed to be eaten or not but I would recommend it warm because it was pretty good that way. First look at it I wouldn't say it's the most aesthetically pleasing but also it's delivery so it is what it is. Once I stirred it up I was much more enticed to eat it. There was a sauce on it (which I am not sure what it was) but I went back and checked my order and couldn't figure it out. Whatever it was it was good. I enjoyed the pita the most! I would've added an additional one if I had known how yummy it'd be. The portion size is great! I couldn't finish it all in one sitting. This is kind of like a middle eastern chipotle. If I order it again I will definitely add one of the spicy sauces on the side to try instead of the tahini. I think by adding this it would really enhance the meal. Also for those who enjoy hummus or baba ganoush this could possibly make your meal even more enjoyable because both were add in option. I however am not a fan of either. This place is delicious! The pita is HEAVENLY, it's like a warm soft pillowy cloud of bread!! And it reheats too... I had to sneak a bite on the drive home. I ordered the chicken shawarma salad and it comes with a free side pita. I got all of the toppings and really enjoyed how the flavors tasted together. They are not stingy on the toppings and my bowl was quite full! You can get hummus and baba ganoush on the bowl too and I would highly recommend these. I got a side of garlic sauce and harissa. The garlic sauce was really good I'll definitely get it on top of my salad next time. It's not too overwhelmingly garlicky and it balances the harissa nicely because it's a little spicy. I loved this place and I'll definitely be back! I also ordered 1 falafel ball to try and it was so crunchy on the outside and had great texture on the inside. I like the food. The servers are weird, apparently you can't get a 3/4 humus, 1/4 rice option (of course you easily can). If you ask for that they either give 1/2 and 1/2, or tell you it's going to cost more (which I don't care but why, we aren't asking for extra), or just tell you they can't. Had been going almost once a week, but a bit fed up at this point. If we can't get what we ask for than bye, at least at the downtown location, may try the Carmel location just to see if it's site specific or chain specific. read more
