Large portion sizes. Cozy and clean restaurant. Staff was attentive and prompt with orders.

Authentic, fresh, and delicious. We were sat quickly and the service was fantastic the whole time. The menu was full of exciting options and offered a great lunch special. The interior was well decorated and a neat reprieve from the roads of downtown.

Went last night (Friday evening) and loved the eclectic look with all the evil eye protection around the interior. Had an 8pm reservation and only had to wait 20 min. We arrived at 7:58 pm. There were 2 waiters helping us, one was nice but the other made me feel as if my questions were irritating him. I also felt like he was rushing us. Ordered Turkish Tea, Hummus, Chicken Couscous and Sultan's Delight. The Pita bread that comes with the hummus was so good, soft and warm. The hummus was ok, I prefer more garlic. The chicken Couscous was so good. The Sultan's delight we brought home in a box because the lamb was tough and hard to chew. I am sure this is a one off experience. Other than the one waiter and the lamb, which it did have a great flavor, it was a wonderful experience.

Big shawarma wraps that were delicious! The staff were moderately friendly. The Turkish coffee was delicious and well presented.

My husband and I visited for our anniversary dinner and LOVED it! We made a reservation per review suggestions, and while it wasn't busy when we arrived, it did start to fill up as we enjoyed our dinner. The service was friendly and helpful and we could tell they have and recognize regulars, which is always a good sign. I also loved the decor--it made the space very warm and inviting. We ordered a LOT of food because so many things sounded good. We recieved warm pita to start and ordered borek, zucchini pancakes, and falafel as appetizers. The presentation was great and the taste was perfect. A couple of them were served with hummus on the plate too so that was like getting a little extra treat. :) For the main course we ordered the Bosphorus Special, which was a platter of multiple meats and some grilled veggies and rice. Everything was delicious! We enjoyed trying each of them and mixing with the yogurt sauce and hummus from our other plates. We of course had lots to take home as well, and it reheated great. We're definitely looking forward to coming back again!

As always, we had a wonderful dinner at Bosphorus Istanbul Cafe! The decor is unique and delightful. The service is friendly and attentive. Tonight I tried the spinach chicken. I have a new favorite dish!

Solid, straightforward Turkish cuisine with really nice service. My quintet attempted to dine in on a Friday night without a reservation. That didn't work out too well for us. But we made a reservation for Saturday and were ready to eat! Warm, soft, fluffy pita bread greeted us at the table, and personally I thought my Chicken Bospherous entree with rice and salad was the perfect portion size. Had it not been summer hot, we would have considered dining on the patio, but this time we stayed inside in the cozy dining room.

Truly blown away by how amazing this was! We placed a request for a reservation 30 minutes before heading over and we were not sure if we were accepted so decided to head over anyways. Lo and behold it was accepted and we were sat quickly! We had some of the Turkish wine that was light and sweet for a hot day. We also could not decide what to eat so we got the appetizer platter and the meat platter. Both were phenomenal! It was so much food that we had plenty left over. It was a lovely place that was decorated in many Turkish decor with many small tables. There is limited parking though

I loved this place! The decorations were beautiful and made the place feel homey. The food was amazing, especially the chicken wrap and appetizer for 2. The food portions are huge, so be prepared to have leftovers. Everything was so flavorful and delicious. The service was amazing too with everyone super nice and welcoming. The only issue is parking is difficult with limited paid street parking nearby. Even though parking is difficult, I highly recommend eating here!

This was an incredible dining experience. Reservations strongly recommended! It is a small house turned into a restaurant. The service was outstanding and the food was absolutely delicious. We were all very happy with our meals but if I return, I'll get the gyro plate. It was so good. My kebabs were perfectly cooked and seasoned and truly melted in your mouth. I loved the salad and vegetables on the side as well. We also loved the combination appetizer! We all had our own favorites but loved each item. Highly recommend!

The food here is really good (especially the chicken bosphorous) however the service was not as great as I was expecting. Our waiter was not very patient and did not tell us about anything on the menu when we asked. Additionally, they tried to charge extra for things we did not ask for. I will come back for the food again for sure, but just wish that the service was a little better. It's a very small restaurant with a nice quiet ambience.

Wow. Just wow. This place has been on my "must try" list for years... why have I waited so long?! First impression: beautiful cozy Victorian house, absolutely filled with Turkish iconography, images, rugs, glazed pottery, even beautifully painted walls and ceiling -- it was like walking into a warm hug. There was so much to look at! The servers were courteous, pleasant, and on-the-ball -- neither too present nor too absent. Service was fast. Shout out to John for chatting even while busy! Food was... astonishing. We shared an appetizer sampler for two with five different dips, dolmas, and heaping baskets of hot, fresh pita -- everything was simply smashing, but the Turkish-style tabuli (with a wonderful roasted tomato base), the eggplant salsa, and the ezme (a roasted pepper puree) were absolute standouts, with such rich flavor I couldn't stop eating them. I got the shish kebab (tender marinated grilled lamb) entree, with lemony rice, tender roast veggies, and a simple salad. Despite all the grazing on the appetizer platter, I cleaned my plate. The seasonings and smoke on the lamb were drool-worthy. I couldn't resist a Turkish coffee, which was properly fierce and bitter and roasty and deeply satisfying. I haven't had its like in decades. His Hubbins got the lamb chops (came with the same sides as mine), which absolutely fell off the bone and melted in the mouth. Spectacular! Prices were quite decent, bathrooms (one his, one hers) were one-seaters and were very clean. Wine and beer are available, including Turkish wines, which we did not try this time. This place is absolutely a new favorite of mine! Thank you for such a lovely summer solstice eve out!

The food here was some of the best I've had in Indianapolis. The service was absolutely incredible- our server helped us choose our meal and made us feel very welcome. The inside is so intimate and romantic. I can't wait to come back and try new things!

Requesting something other than pizza and burgers is a big deal! I ordered the beef shawarma and the chicken shawarma, just so we could try both. Both looked like a burrito, which is familiar to my kids, so they went with it. We liked the beef, but the chicken shawarma was mind-blowing, and we will definitely be ordering this again. You can get the shawarma by itself or as a meal, which means it comes with fries. I also got the gyro, which comes with sliced beef and lamb, yellow rice, hummus, salad, tzatziki and pita. Because we got our food to go, the pita came separate from everything else, and I had to assemble my gyro myself like a little taco. It was delicious, but so much food! Honestly, the gyro plate can feed two people easily. Because I can't pass up a baba ganoush, I ordered a small one. They have some excellent baba ganoush at Sahara! I think this might even be my baba ganoush go-to now. Ordering online is very easy, and my food was ready to be picked up even before it was supposed to be. The only thing is that Sahara is located on the Broad Ripple strip, so parking can be iffy. I didn't find any parking in front of the restaurant, so I had to circle the block a bit before I found a spot.

I called ahead and ordered: 2 kebab sandwiches 2 falafel sandwiches 2 kibbeh orders baba ghanoush fattoush salad The employee on the phone told me the order would be ready in 20 minutes. When I arrived, I was told it would actually be another 17 minutes. I waited in my car, came back after that time passed, and then was told "maybe 13 more minutes." The biggest issue was not just the wait -- it was the lack of honesty and time management. If the restaurant had simply said from the beginning that they were behind and needed closer to an hour, I would have understood. What frustrates customers is being repeatedly given inaccurate wait times. People plan their schedules, families, and evenings around the times restaurants provide. After waiting inside, sitting directly in front of the counter, I watched the cook START preparing parts of my order almost an hour after I originally placed it. Items like the baba ghanoush, salad, and kibbeh -- foods that are usually already prepared -- were only assembled then. Meanwhile, customers who arrived after me and ordered at the restaurant were served before my takeout order was completed. Unfortunately, the food quality also suffered from the long delay: The sandwiches were soggy The salad had water pooled at the bottom and no dressing The kibbeh was soaked in grease For the amount paid, I expected much better service, communication, and food quality. A simple apology and realistic timing would have made a huge difference.

We're always looking for good Greek food in Indianapolis and noticed this spot while eating…read moresomewhere nearby, so we decided to make a trip back downtown for it at a later time. Located in a cute blue house, this is conveniently located near Lucas Oil Stadium and there was a huge concert going on the night we were there, but we were still allowed to park in their parking area. Inside has nice lighting and is pretty plain but has a homey feel. The menu contains many items we're familiar with having visited Greece twice. So I'm going to be a little critical here with my review of the food. I ordered the Greek Spaghetti, which I have had in Greece. Unfortunately this was not at all what I was expecting or anything like Greek spaghetti. What I was served was basically Prego spaghetti sauce with pieces of gyro in it. Traditional Greek spaghetti (or Makaronia me Kima) is a wonderful sauce that's seasoned with all kinds of memorable spices. It's definitely not pieces of gyro meat thrown in a sauce. So while this was fine, it was not what I truly wanted or thought I was getting so I was pretty disappointed. My husband got the chicken souvlaki and that was better but still not quite like what I remember. The meat was almost smoked and lacked some of the Greek spices that gives it a distinct taste. And the tzatziki...well, let's just say it tastes like whipped feta and was lacking in flavor too. I did enjoy the pita bread. Our service was underwhelming as well. It took a while for anyone to notice we were there and needed to be seated and the server basically did the bare minimum, never even asking if we wanted our water refilled. Overall, it was fine. If I had never been to Greece, I may have a different opinion but this isn't someplace I really want to go back to.
