On May 28th I called Nails 4 u to make an appointment for Thursday, June 4th for a pedicure and a no chip French manicure. I have a few special events coming up and really needed this done! I requested Lisa and was told ok we have you down for 10:00 am. I usually go to Lisa she knows my concerns and I feel comfortable having her. I also like Miley who has done my nails and is wonderful when Lisa is off. Today I came right at 10:00 for my scheduled appointment. The first thing the manager says when I walk in are you here for Lisa I said yes. She said Lisa is sick. You can come tomorrow she will be here. I said if she is sick how do you know she will be better I don't want to get sick. A male technician jumps in saying Lisa was just getting a shot! I responded that I had a Dr appointment Friday and I couldn't come in on Friday! The manager says you can have someone else. She said Miley will be in at 11:00 however Miley already has an appointment at 11:00. I looked at the male technician sitting by the manager. How about you? He said I already have an appointment scheduled. I said to the manager why didn't you call me and tell me? Her response "I just found out this morning!" I know she was not telling the truth! Lisa is usually off on Thursdays and when I called and they booked me for Thursday with her I was surprised! I knew she had been on vacation for a couple of months and I figured they scheduled her back on Thursday. I said ok and left! There are 2 other nail places in the same area that I have not tried yet! The Kin Nails was happy to service me! They were all wonderful! I have been going to nails 4 you for a long time. They never really make you feel appreciated. I ignore my surroundings because Lisa always makes me feel comfortable. The attitude is terrible. They make you feel like you don't matter! I have been told this before by others. I can't believe you would not want my business. A phone call to cancel my appointment would have been appreciated! A good manager would have tried to make me happy. The manager had no compassion. She could care less if I left. This is poor management! read more

If I could give zero stars I would. I went in for a no chip and had already filed my already short nails. I was VERY clear (told her twice) that I did not want them filed. Before I could stop her she started filing them. I told her again that I did not want them filed- she did not understand and I now realize she did not understand english as she kept asking if I wanted to go wash my hands when I told her I was leaving. She had filed them so short and angled in a way that I did not want nail polish put on. I am so very disappointed. And to top it off she charged me $22 for "cleaning" them. They need to learn how to apologize when they mess up and make it right for the customer. I was there yesterday for over 2 hours because the First Lady that try to do my nails ruined. After being there for so long and still leaving with dip color around my fingers she still charged me full prize and never apologized. Horrible service! read more

Came in here for a pedicure as my normal nail girl is a drive away and I needed a pedicure close by. The guy who did my pedicure was young and very nice and gave me a decent massage. He didn't do a very good job at cutting my toenails and did not pull out new utensils for the pedicure. He also did not offer to use the cheese grater to take any dead skin off which I typically like to have done even though my feet aren't bad. I sat at the dryer for ten minutes as he suggested. I left and when I got home, I noticed that both big toes had scuffs in the Polish. Guess that isn't his fault unless he used too much polish. I've been going to my usual nail salon for 3 years now and decided to switch it up by going to The Nail 4 U. Let me start off by saying how nice the building and atmosphere was. It was newly renovated and is absolutely gorgeous! I also really appreciated seeing the plastic disposable tub liners that they would put in for ever new person getting pedicures. It's not often you see that, since my nail salon doesn't use them and I'm glad they take sanitation seriously. Vi did my nails and she did such an amazing job. I wanted a French tip gel set and she hooked it up! She did the most bomb coffin shape and ombré to my nails and was so patient and helpful with finding the best contrast to the whole tips (went with the pink she suggested) and I couldn't be happier! I was taken aback by the $5 extra charge for the coffin shape since my usual place doesn't charge but Vi gave me an awesome discount since it was my first time there. I will definitely be back to see Vi and can't wait to bring my friends, too! read more

It's hit or miss at this place. When getting my nails done, it is suppose to be a quiet, and a relaxing experience, but unfortunately it isn't. I have Yet to find a nail shop where the techs do less talking to make it a more relaxing and welcoming experience for their customers. The nails techs at this place talk so much and so loud amongst one another it is almost annoying especially when you don't understand the language, I find it rude. I was in the car 15 minutes later and they are CALLING me to ask me if I am still coming..I said I would gladly not come. They then proceeded to talk more shit about me than any other salon. Right to my face! She rushed me out then when I told her I wanted change back she gave me fives. I had a very good experience. Kathy was hilarious and my no chip manicure rocks. She poked fun at my choice of color but I can't hold that against her. I have passed this place several times over the last two years but usually it is during the work day and there is no time to stop in for service. It is lunch and back to work. It is located in the strip mall with Fed Ex Kinkos, Good Tequila and Dominicks. I called the location to find out their hours today and was told they closed at 5p, Many area salons close at 4p. Walked in and the place is really nice. The pictures do not do it justice. It is very nice and there are lots of colors to choose from. There were over 50 no chip colors and that in and of itself warrants an extra star. Students receive a discount and pedicures are $22 Monday through Wednesday. They have been open for about 6 years so it is very surprising this is the first review. Guess it is one of Elk Grove's best kept secrets. read more

This place is my go to! I had to go back to get my no chip manicure touched up (it discolored, but not their fault) and they were so nice/welcoming and even refused my tip at the end. stay away from this place! I came here just to remove my gel nails with acrylic tips and the instruments they use are not clean! First off, the woman cut my skin with the drill she used to shave off the gel and did not clean the particular drill tip she used and put it back in the box after she cut me and my finger bled! Worst nail salon I've ever been to. Dip manicure is $40. I got dip and a pedicure. My total was $70.. after 1 week my nails all started chipping and growing out horribly. The cuticles are unevenly shaped and about to peel off. I went in there for them to fix them and the women refused to fix them all. I spent $40 on a manicure, that should last at least 2 weeks. At least. I know people whose dip has lasted over a month and still looks great. DO NOT GO HERE. They also use the same foot sponges for everyone. You tell me if this is acceptable work. I said I wanted my nails "short", that didn't mean exposing my nail bed. My hands are in pain. The pedi was painted so bad that I had to go back in and ask them to redo it.. I didn't notice till I got outside in the sunlight. I understand the owner needs to protect her business but they made it seem like this was somehow my fault that my nails wound up this short with a bad paint job. I have an active Cosmetology license so I know better. I'm never spending money on my nails again. I've had too many bad experiences at several different nail places in attempts to find somewhere that still does good work, but this was the final straw. I'll do it myself from now on and save the money. Even though they tried to fix everything my nails are so short that it's a lost cause. This was supposed to be a birthday gift and my nails look awful, and they hurt. I'm sure there's good techs here but I'm too turned off to ever go back. I was in salon on 11/18 and opted for a no chip manicure with a new powder technology they were offering. I am writing 3 1/2 weeks later, after endless scrubbing, dishes washed etc....not one chip or starting to peel. AMAZING I highly recommend this product and nail 4 you skill in applying it. I met up with my mom so she can get her nails done and I could get a much needed pedicure. I got the $31 pedicure, second one on the list. I really liked that they have a menu (is that what you'd call it?) so you can see the price and what is all included in each level of the pedicure services available to you. I have an issue with super dry and cracked heels and ingrown toe nails and the lady who did my pedicure took her time and did a great job! I've had pedicures where literally by the end of the night my heels already looks dry and gross. I got it done yesterday morning and my heels are super smooth! She didn't hurt me when she was digging out the nail and sometimes it can be sore after but my feet feel great! I'm not really sure why this place has such mediocre ratings... This place was fabulous. I visited with a friend who lives in the area and I'm really, really happy with the friendly service and great manicures that we both got. The spa pedicure stations are really comfortable. They're almost sheltered in a little, dreamy cove with nice, soft music and warm water in the basins. The massage chairs are powerful and have settings for every taste. The actual pedicure was great. I paid extra for some additional spa goodies that smelled awesome, softened my skin and made the leg massage that much better. The gel nail manicure was tedious but awesome. At first, I was annoyed that this was taking so long but I realize the guy did probably the best job with all of the filing and grinding that I've ever had in a manicure ever. I would LOVE to make this my go-to mani/pedi place, but it's in Elk Grove, which is super far from my house. If you live in the area, though, go immediately. read more

I went to Nail 4 U in EGV today for the first time and so happy I chose to give this place a try. I was anxious to get a no-chip manicure for a wedding tomorrow and Nancy was the woman who did my nails. She did such a wonderful job and was so meticulous, my nails look gorgeous. Meh I was not impressed with my lunch break pedi. They do some random upcharges unlike other mani/pedi places and the massage chair was bunk. In addition, at the end of my pedi, I saw she messed something up and ignored it. Do not go here! They have no idea what they are doing! I went in for a pedicure and eyebrows. I told the lady exactly what I wanted for my pedicure. She cut my nails super short and acted like she didn't know that's not how I wanted them. I was pissed next disaster was my eyebrows. She literally waxed them almost completely off! AND they are uneven. I've been getting my eyebrows done for over 16 years and have never had any issues. She tried to blame me and after I got pissed she started talking in her language to someone else and all I heard was laughter. Unbelievable. Do not go to this salon unless you want a disaster. went there on Friday after work to get a full set with no chip. Not my usual salon (i live in Lisle but was staying in the area ) got in right away. was told that it was going to be $50 (thats $20 more than my usual place) wanted coffin shape. As the woman was filing my nails i noticed several of them were crooked. tried to show her to fix and she was trying to tell me they weren't and also got another woman to look and both tried telling me the same thing. As I paid she then told me that usually the coffin shape in an extra $5 but she wasn't going to charge me that. ( I have never heard of that being extra... ) When I walked outside i could see how badly uneven all my nails are (length and shape) and my nails arent smooth at all! there are ridges and bumps in the polish and acrylic all over. will not be returning here. read more
