Hey Nail Friends! I bookmarked this place as I was checking out nail salons in Bloomington to pick for a girls afternoon. What a gem this place is! They were extremely customer service friendly and easy to make an appointment with. Once we got there, they were very accommodating and quick to get our pedicures done. My cons were that the place could be a little cleaner and more spacious--also they don't have enough colors to chose from. Need more colors at a nail salon! So I am waiting in the parking lot for the appointment they told me to come for at 9 am... still not here... I call and the guy is all oh, give us like 20 minutes. This coming after they have called me 3 times and cancelled my appointments that I had already scheduled for afternoons during the week.... I had my pedicure and massage and can say I am now impressed. I told them my frustrations and they addressed everyone of them, professionally and perfectly. They explained they used Groupon just for 1 month and told them to only have 125 available and groupon is still sending them out after selling 600. Also, groupon schedules appointments and didn't tell them so when some people show up and they are gone or don't have them in the book people get upset (I was one of them) It's just a husband and wife running the place and they do awesome. I had a wonderful massage of my hands, arms, neck, back, feet and legs. They were friendly and talked with me the whole time. At first I was pissed but now, I will definitely come back. And Allen explained the reason they were late is they had people come in at closing time and didn't get home until 11 pm and they over slept. And profusely apologized. I have been to Nail Art 3 times now. I have to say this is the best nail salon I have ever been to. Tiffany and Alan run the operation by themselves so an appointment is normally required. They work together on each client so efficiently. I get a manicure with gel coat and pedicure very quickly and it's clearly the best I have ever had done and they are very reasonably priced. It's so unusual to have nail salon with this kind of family feel, excellent work and reasonable price. Give them a try and you'll never have to look for another nail salon again! read more

The lady that's the owner or manager is super rude. I have sns nails and she wanted to soak my nails in acetone in a bowl like I had acrylics. I told her she was doing it differently than everybody else in the world. She proceeded to tell me that she had been doing nails for 11 years blah blah blah. I was in the pedicure chair with my feet in the water. Because i disagreed with her removal method she basically refused my whole sercice- even my pedicure. She's a total bish! And I'm happy she didn't get the chance to ruin my natural nails with her erroneous practices. read more

I was in the area for business and desperately needed my nails done. I called and they were booked. I made a reservation for the following day. However, within 10 minutes, I received a call back and they were able to fit me in. What great service. I got a manicure and pedicure. Tiffany and her husband were extremely welcoming. The pedicure was the first time I had a "hot rock" message included...heavenly touch. And Tiffany explained about the types of gel coatings and how some salons do not do the liquid gel coating properly. In addition, she exactly matched my nail color. They deserve no stars, whatsoever. THE WORST customer service I have gotten and that was over the phone--I can only imagine how horrible they are with their services. I first made an appointment for me and two friends on a Sunday. When we got there, they had put us on Monday instead and had absolutely no regrets or apologies to offer. I called again to make an appointment and was told they can't take multiple people at the same time (so if you're thinking of having a nice day with a friend or family member, forget it). Then, when I asked why that is the case, they hung up on me. I called back a few minutes later and was told "We have every right to hang up on customers because we don't need you." I am extremely disappointed and wouldn't recommend wasting your time with this place. read more

I had an appointment scheduled for 6pm. I got a text to come at 7pm but then the owner said never mind, see you at 6:30pm. There was some miscommunication because we initially agreed on 6pm on the phone which I also repeated back over the phone to confirm. I could not make the time they had me down for work so I asked to reschedule. When I did, they blew up at me and said why didnt I write it down? They said they already had me down for an appointment. I actually did write it down and asked to reschedule simply because I could not make it due to another engagement I had already planned. The owner ended up lashing out on me and said they would no longer schedule appointments for me simply over a miscommunication which I believe was on their part, but does it really matter whose part it was on? A miscommunication is what it is. She then told me to "go back to the mountains" which is the equivalent of telling someone to go back to their country. To resort to racism and this level of unprofressiolism was disappointing from them. I've had a few friends tell me how disrespectful they can be with being late or having to reschedule appointments but I did not expect it to resort to something this low. read more

Do not buy a groupon here or use this salon!! I bought a groupon before I read the reviews. I hoped I would have a good experience. First off, good luck getting a time together if you and a girlfriend want to go. Very limited hours where they will accept two people. And it seems groupons can only be done at limited times during day. The woman on the phone gave me a time of 1030 Sunday. My girlfriend called back to try to reschedule after she realized she had a conflict and the woman said they would not reschedule. They confirmed 1030 Sunday. I'm sitting on the curb at 1050 , shop is closed up. Not good consumer service. I left them a voicemail saying exactly that. Will update if I can ever get into this salon. Update. Owner called back and said I had the wrong date. I came a week early. But she never specified a date, she only said Sunday 10:30 over and over. She told me because I was so rude, she was canceling my appointment. As I tried to say I've already paid for the groupon, she Hung up. I contacted groupon and they said they had problems with this business and were refunding anyone who bought a groupon. Steer clear, bad bad customer service! read more

After being on the hunt for the perfect nail salon for years, my search is finally over. A friend recommended Nail Art and I couldn't be happier. Tiffany and Allan are kind, they take their time and make everyone feel welcome. Allan gave me the longest hand and foot massage I've ever had at a nail salon and it was fantastic. They even use hot stones for their basic pedicure with no extra charge. The prices are lower than other places but the service is absolutely superior. I think I was there for 1.5 hours for a mani pedi and I was pleased the whole time. Allan, Tiffany and their beautiful daughter Bella (she's so sweet!) have the best nail salon around. You'll be missing out if you don't go there! read more

I have been a client at Nail Art for many years and have always been happy with their service. In fact I've always recommended them to friends and made recommendations on Facebook when others were looking for a nail salon. However, I recently called several times and left a couple messages to make an appointment. I didn't get any replies so I stopped in to make an appointment. I was told (in front of 3-4 clients) that my phone number had been blocked since I didn't tip on my last visit. I thought they were joking but they were serious. I don't recall my last visit but he assured me I did not tip. He even told me that others were much more generous with their tips. I have always tried to pay in cash as they prefer cash and I do tip. I was pretty shocked and then angry. They should post that generous tips are expected in order to retain their services. In reading through some of the other posts, this blocking and refusal of services is not isolated. I wouldn't have believed it if this didn't happen to me as I have always been happy with their service. In looking back at my previous interaction with the owner when I stopped in to make an appointment, she was pretty rude to me, wouldn't look at me, and and told me she had no openings that day and none the next day either. She didn't try to set up a future appointment or offer to explain. Now I realize they had already decided to block me at that point. Typically when I get my nails done I show the nail tech a picture to refer to and they can recreate it. I wanted coffin nails and she gave me oval shaped nails. She didn't not listen to me when I told her I was unhappy and she didn't give me the length I asked for. It was not worth the money at all and I will never be going here ever again. If you are looking for a certain shape or design I wouldn't go here. read more

I went to this nail shop for about a year and a half faithfully. I drove from Saint Paul to get here every other week and I truly did love their services. With that said...Tiffany refused to answer my calls after I had to cancel on her. I only canceled on her two times and both with good reasons. The first time my fiance surprised me by proposing to me (sorry Tiffany but that is a lot more important than making your appointment) and the second time I had to get home to a food delivery when my fiance could not get off work in time to be there (again, sorry, but I am not going to waste $100 in food because I needed to get my nails done). She was late with my appointments a lot but if I was ever late I would literally get the silent treatment from Tiffany. Still, I kept coming back! Allen was awesome and I think that he understood that life happens but Tiffany definitely runs the show there and she is the one that was rude and treated her customers like crap when they did not fall in line with her schedule. She literally just stopped taking my calls as well as all the calls from the people I referred to her. I' sorry, but is this really how you run a business? I have seen others who have had similar experiences and I truly hope that she ends this cycle before she goes out of business. read more

CUSTOMERS BEWARE! Horrible customer service, especially if you are a Groupon customer. I was treated horribly. I scheduled my appt that morning, during the conversation I was asked if I was a new customer and I replied yes. After the technician began the pedicure I pulled up the groupon and gave it to her to redeem and she flipped out. She said that I should have told her I had a groupon and that she does not do them. She already hit the "redeem" button on my phone, because I said to her that I wasn't asked and I didn't know but I would go somewhere else. She proceeded to chew me out and because she had redeemed it she said that it would cause to many problems. So she just reprimanded me the entire time and then when she could not find the matching color in gel to my toes that she had already painted she said I must pick another color. There were not any other colors close to the color she had already put on my toes. She really got angry and told me to leave if I didn't want another color. The entire experience felt like I was in the twilight zone, I really did not know what to do. I would not go to this place. Oh I forgot to mention she called the police on my and I waited for them to arrive, because I was really confused on what I had actually done wrong. The police just laughed and told me to make sure I do a review on this place! The long and the short of it, she was upset it was a groupon and she really showed me and told me how upset she was. My appt was at 12pm and she had my pedicure completed by 12:15pm. I have NEVER had a 15 minute pedicure!!!! So that right there should tell you the quality of the work or lack there of.... read more

Based on the positive reviews of the quality of nail care, I purchased a Groupon. Unfortunately, they make it very difficult to redeem. I had called a handful of times and left a message on their voicemail, never receiving a call back. Twice, I had a scheduled appointment time and arrived at the salon, only to find it was closed. My Groupon was near the expiration date and the soonest opening they had was after the date, but they went ahead and scheduled it. Upon arrival, they immediately asked to see my voucher. The man and woman spoke in non-English and then informed me they would not honor it. I explained the hassle and circumstances listed above, but they did not care. The man was actually very rude. The Groupon seems like a good deal, but save yourself the frustration and wasted time and go somewhere else. Additionally, the neighborhood is a bit sketchy. read more

I have been going to this nail shop for about 2 years and I have referred many people over that time period. They do great work; however, my last appointment with her I was running late and I called and let Tiffany know I was running late. She abruptly told me she could not wait for me and after that she refused all attempts to reschedule without any explanation. There has been more than one occasion when she was running late for my appt and I patiently waited. My first appt with her she was running so late that I had to leave the nail shop with my nails incomplete and come back the next day because I had to leave to pick my son up. I did not let that one experience keep me from giving her another chance. I understand that things happen that can cause Tiffany to run behind so I did not hold that against her. As a loyal customer that drove 40 min just to come to this shop and give Tiffany and Alan my business it was extremely hurtful. I am a firm believer in great customer service and you should never treat your customers like that. I found out after the fact that she also ignored all attempts for my sister to make an appt without any explanation. I referred my sister to her and she brought her mom with, they both drove from St. Paul just to get their nails done. My sister also referred others to this nail shop. I'm disappointed because as a loyal customer I did not deserve to be treated like that. I also had a horrible experience trying to redeem Groupons for pedicures that I purchased for myself and a friend. This nail salon will not answer their phone. It always goes to a voicemail message. I had to physically stop at the salon to make an appointment for service. I was then told the Groupons cannot be used on weekends (they also consider Friday as a weekend!?!). I then proceeded to make an appointment for my friend and myself for a Monday at 7:45pm. I double checked this 7:45pm time slot the employee assigned me as the signage on their door states they close at 7pm weeknights. I was assured that they take appointments later in the evening. We arrived at 7:40pm on a Monday for our appointment and the salon was dark and completely closed up. No call from the business earlier that day letting us know they were canceling our scheduled appointment and of course when I called the next day, no live person to answer the phone...straight to voicemail again. Please don't waste your time or money...My suggestion to this business, if you are not going to honor Groupons DON'T use them as a way to try and drum up business. read more
