I stopped in to remove gel x & the woman doing it was a bit confused on the process. The manager had to step in and show her how it is done. Next, I decided to get a regular mani with OPI bubble bath polish. Filing was good, but I knew when she insisted on 3 coats that it was going to be too thick and would not dry properly. She did it anyways and I sat under the hand dryer for at least 10 minutes and lo and behold, 4 nails on left and and two on right got smudged. A younger gal came in to fix them and when I got home, right hand ring finger was jazzed up. I still tipped her 20 percent but I really need to think twice before going back. First time here and probably my last. Thought I would give this place a try since it was the half way point to meeting a friend. Kinda felt like a number and the quality of work is so so. It's like the tech is timed and their work reflects in my nails. Polish was not completely covering my nails on the second layer and my cuticles were not cleaned up well at all. Upon walking into the shop my first impression was that it was bright, extra clean, and lots of seats for pedis and manis. It was fancy inside and they offer drinks, wine included, if you ask. Not once was it offered. The woman who greets every customer, looks like the owner/manager, was like a drill Sargent, directing her employees and customers where to go didn't seem very friendly either. They do have nail techs change daily, as some have days off, vacation, etc. They do offer if you have a nail tech you "love" call and make an appt with them. As for two techs waiting on you, how pampered is that? Everyone salon does that! For tips, my hair salon does the same. It is very common practices lately asking for cash or even venmo the technicians their tip. All places, restaurants, salons, etc have a surcharge now using a credit. Karen, check your charges more closely! As for adult beverages, they STOPPED asking over a year ago! The person who handles the phone or the front desk, there is NO way they would have any argument at the front desk as you described. I Broke up with Nail Fairy in Westmont this month --- the nail technicians do not smile, act or look happy. It's sad to be in there bc none of the nail technicians say nice to see you, how are you, have a nice day, or happy new year. The owner is not very friendly either, sits on his phone and barks at his employees. I took my niece here for a manicure and pedicure for her 17th birthday present. I felt hopeful based on reviews and seeing pictures, but the reality fell pretty short. 1. A recent customer had come in and complained asking for a refund as the manicure had been damaged at some point between the day before and that day. The manager understandably offered to fix it and the customer said they wanted a refund as they didn't have time to stay to fix it as they were going to the airport. Manager said no. Fine whatever not my problem-until the manager felt the need to come up to every customer who witnessed the exchange to remind us that he had a business and he couldn't just go giving everyone refunds. I was uncomfortable but already "trapped" so to speak so we couldn't leave. 2. They were pushy with the pedicure package while also holding back on giving me adequate time to peruse the prices. It's obviously their job to upsell their product, totally get it, but it's important to allow your customer time to see what they want. The pedicure I wanted was the basic package, and I wanted the deluxe package for my niece to pamper her. The gentleman working aggressively encouraged me to do the deluxe as well, and I caved. I regret it because I feel like it wasn't really worth it for me or my niece. The scrub smelled nice, but the scrub, lotion and "massage" were not really worth it in my opinion as it was over and done so fast, and my niece had a kid who looked younger than her working on her pedicure. 3. They literally did our manicures at the same time as our pedicures. So not only did I have to sit super still And not really get to relax, but the woman doing my manicure made several mistakes that she fixed without me saying anything because of the precarious balancing act. It was just so bizarre and uncomfortable, but again at this point I felt trapped in with my hands and feet getting done at the same time. I'm not sure why they did it that way given that he had appointments and that they were not super crowded. 4. I also had an eyebrow appointment but I decided not to go through with that. Probably a good choice. 5. I am giving 3 instead of 1 or two stars because my nieces nails came out fantastic! I was very happy and grateful that that went well, and she loves them! So far they are still intact. It's been 4 days. I am aware that I could have complained at any time and stopped the service at any time or even asked them to do differently. I just did not feel comfortable trying to speak up after how the manager handled the situation with the other customer....again he did his part offering to fix the nail(s), it was how he literally came up to every customer after the fact and made sure WE understood that he was running a business and that he wasn't going to give into complaints of customers...it was intimidating and unnecessary. For the two deluxe pedicure packages, my no chip manicure and my nieces acrylics I still tipped over 20% even thought I was not fully comfortable with the services received. I am hopeful that the tips go to the employees and not their boss. They probably did what they did because of how he runs his business. I'm sure it's not big thing to him, but we will not give them our business again, and our family and friends will not either. read more

It's a love hate here. Love that they get you in quickly and have multiple stations, water and good colors. Hate that the quality of the service is hit or miss. It really is- if you find someone good get their name then book an appt and only go to them vs walking in. Also there is a guy that works here that loves to touch your wet nails when they aren't dry. This last time I actually said - "they are still wet-" when I saw him coming at me (I had just checked on my pinky) - and he still proceeded to touch my big toe then smudged it, then had to repaint it then here I all sitting and waiting all over again. I should have told him to get away from me. He didn't even do my service. That's really annoying. This has happened 2x now. read more

My sister treated me to a no chip pedicure for my birthday, and I was excited. This place is very pretty and spacious. We didn't have to wait for chairs. They offered us beverages, and the massage chairs are really nice. That's about the extent of the positives for me. The guy who did my pedicure didn't do a good job at all. He didn't scrub the bottom of my feet well, so they're still rough, even though I asked him to scrub them again. He said he had already done it and I didn't need more. The nails were so bad I had to go back a couple hours later when I realized they were sticky and messy. The owner fixed them for me, but he didn't start over and give me fresh paint. He just sanded off the top layer and then put a bunch more layers on and dried them. He didn't even clean the edges with polish remover, so they still don't look perfect. I could have done my own pedicure about as well as this. I won't be going back here. read more

I've patronized this businesses for far too long. They are about as unprofessional and dishonest as a business can be. Yesterday was my last visit. I was charged 70$ for a fill. The tech said my "pink and white" was as much for a full set as a fill. Didn't apply tips or file. Didn't even clean under never washed my hands just applied lotion over all the dust. Didn't quite ring right with my reasoning or experience. Called the owner after leaving and he was unmoved by my concerns. The tech, who did my nails last time, complained the job they did last time (by him) wasn't good. I asked for him to cut and file my nails (as I did 2 weeks ago) and he completely ignored me/forgot. Pretty sure the tech was high and is every time. This is a crap business. The owner lied to another patron saying he doesn't know prices and doesn't do nails. He's the owner and he makes the prices and he definitely does nails. Just such dishonest and unprofessional people through and through. It's misleading because it is a pretty place and they serve Diet Coke but they will screw a customer of over a decade for a couple bucks! read more

I probably got a 10 second massage which I was already annoyed about because the best part of pedicures is the massage. And then I go home and look at my toes and see this!!!!? I was 10 minutes early and greeted and told they had 3 stations ready for us and to be seated and relax in the foot soak until they arrived. I have visited Nail Fairy for over 5 years with mixed quality on services. The vibe is anything but positive, they seem unhappy and always rushed. On one occasion, the woman at front desk was having an argument with a nail tech. They were yelling at each other, very unprofessional behavior. She stated she was going to have discussion with owner about him. On one occasion, while I was having my pedicure another tech decided to give me my manicure standing next to me saying everything will be fine. That was ridiculous. I repeatedly told him, stop you are hurting me. He just looked at me confused. UNBELIEVABLE. The owner is unfriendly, stoic as are the techs. They offer wine, and water, but seldom offer. Usually I need ask for water. One time the owner asked if I would like wine, when I said yes he never brought it to me. After awhile the nail tech giving me pedicure asked, would I like a water which she immediately brought me. They don't want tips added on credit cards. I am sure because of bank charges for them. Well as far as I am concerned that is part of having business, DEAL WITH IT. After covid, they started with surcharges which I am sure due to fact they lost lot business. Everyone is very friendly, very professional, and the girl that works the front desk knows her stuff. My sister walked in asking about the difference between dip powder and no chip and she helped her make her decision and was so nice about it. It's also very relaxing and decorated so pretty. I have been going here for years because they can usually always accommodate walk ins, but after my most recent experience I will never be back. I got dip on my nails and it broke the next day. When I went in to have them fix it, they no longer had the dip color and were just trying different no chips colors to get the color similar. I told the owner I wasn't happy with it and he said that's the best he could do. My nails often don't last more than a week if I don't request a certain technician, but one day is absolutely ridiculous. If you only go to a specific technician who is good here it is fine, but if you just walk in and take anyone, you will not be pleased. Definitely seems like it's a hit or miss kind of place. My sister recommended this place so my mom and I went. Well the first thing is that the gentleman who greets you at the door is slightly overly energetic which is a bit much. I came with my mom and she was pretty unhappy with her mani pedi, I have to say her cuticles and nails looked pretty rough at the end (male tech, maybe someone to avoid if possible). He was a bit huffy with her when she asked about it. Mine looked great that day, but I had a no chip, and you can see in the photo what happened on day 7, and my other hand also has some minor chips which I wouldn't expect until at least week two. Anyway, I probably would not come back here unless I was in a jam and needed same day service, it was easy enough to walk in and pretty cheap (60 for the mani pedi), but don't expect it to last necessarily. I understand prices have gone up everywhere given our current economy with 9.1% inflation, but Nail Fairy is taking advantage now of passing it on to the customer. Being a regular client of this establishment for a full year+ I know what to expect....here are the details: 7/18/22 No-chip mani $40.00 Classic Pedicure $32.00 Dipping take-off $10.00 $10.00 to take my nail polish off, a service they previously provided because I'm a regular, in order for me to purchase another service from them. $50.00 total for a no-chip manicure. This exact same service on 6/20/21, just a little over 1 year has gone up 26%!! With some random "take-off" charge that is absolutely absurd when I'm purchasing an already pricy service. No-chip mani $37.00 Classic Pedicure $28.00 In all of my years of getting my nails done I have never been charged a service fee for taking nail polish off when I'm coming in to get a manicure and pedicure every time. I am so upset about this I am in search for a new salon that offers services without these hidden charges. I can see the charge being reasonable if I was just getting my nail polish taken off without purchasing any other nail service but this is just absurd. After further questioning this fee they told me oh, you had a dip and got a no-chip. So we charge you $10.00 to take it off. But when I walked in an requested the woman who does my nails the best I requested a dip manicure but I was told she could only do a no-chip. I said okay and settled on a no-chip because she is a great technician and does beautiful work. But no where in this conversation was I told there was going to be random charges for taking nail polish off! And I've never been charged a take-off fee before. Ever. Sat in the chair for 30 minutes while the water turned cold waiting for someone to start my pedicure. They don't tell you that you are going to wait that long. They make you think they have an open station. Pedicure lasted 8 minutes. He barely scrubbed the rough part off the bottom Of my foot. And gave me a 1 minute massage on each leg- no massage on my feet. Extremely disappointed and more money than I usually pay at my normal pedicure place. My nail tech clipped my toenails down way to short and they are also very uneven. Additionally my big toes were cut so rounded that I'm concerned about an ingrown nail too. I used to go to Happy Nails down the street until Danny opened this one. Then Happy Nails was not as good as it used to be and now Nail Fairy is heading down the same path! I haven't gotten my nails done all summer (so they needed a lot of help) I got my nails done on Saturday night and by Sunday one already chipped. On Saturday my cuticles were not taken care of AT ALL. When I went to get my middle finger (the one that chipped) fixed I could not find the color I got before.
