Knowing Sarah doesn't yet have children, I posted in my local mom group simply asking for a few recommendations. I never wanted to hurt her feelings, but I still wanted local suggestions so I figured this was a safe bet to get some recommendations. The next day, just one hour before my scheduled appointment with Sarah, after a harrowing time trying to arrange childcare (I have 3 kids and work full time) I received a text from her thanking me for working with her and wishing me "good luck." Next, I immediately received a text confirming the cancellation of my upcoming appointment. I was leaving for a trip just a few days later. I ended up traveling with really faded, grown out hair and I now have to wait another month to book with anyone decent in town. Honestly, it was really disappointing how she handled this. I'm a business owner too, and if someone isn't satisfied with my services I do my best to understand why and figure out what I can do to help either a) resolve the issue or b) support the transition. Having my appointment cancelled against my will and then having to waste time scrambling to find someone else when a simple conversation could have taken its place was really disheartening. Sucked, tbh.
