I have only written one other review in my life, but I always ready others. Why? I find others' perspectives important in picking where I go. However, I took a leap of faith because it was late and this place was close to my house. I walked in, the only patron this late at night, and was happily greeted by the two employees- Tina and (I apologize if I ruin his name by misspelling, but I think he said Chung). Tina was an absolute DOLL. She somehow talked me into getting a manicure and pedicure when originally I was only going to get new polish. Since I was the only one in there I felt like an absolute celeb with Tina on my hands and the gentleman on my feet. We chatted, we laughed, and they were INCREDIBLY meticulous. My nails are perfect. I come to this location every now and than. Tina and Son are incredibly kind! I frequently receive excellent customer service and I judge customer service by how welcoming and kind you are to customers. This nail store only has 2 employees (Tina and Son who are husband and wife) so if there are 2-3 people in the salon you'll probably have to wait. I typically just get basic mani-pedis and occasional gel manis. Great conversations and always friendly. This place is in my top 5 nail places in Atlanta. Period. read more

My recent service at Nail Magic was TERRIBLE. I went in for a spa pedicure, partial fill-in and gel polish. I sat in the spa pedicure chair for over 2 hours and left without complete service. My pedicure was good but only 1 hand had the fill-in complete and the nail technician broke my naturally long pinky nail from over filing and trying to rush. I left after 2.15 hours with my right hand untouched and polish was never applied. They still charged me $65.00 and told me to come back for polish which would cost an additional $20.00. I'm going out of town so I can't go back until Monday. I will not be revisiting the salon and will have my nails completed elsewhere. They missed out on a perfect opportunity to display great customer service and they FAILED with flying colors. They lost a good customer. read more

Being new to the Atlanta area, I was looking for a nail salon that was CLEAN, reasonably priced and close to my apartment. It was suggested I go to Nail Magic. I called on a Friday afternoon to see if I could be seen for a mani pedi, not knowing if they accepted walk-ins and was pleasantly surprised to find out they could take me right away. I was surprised to be the only customer in the shop the entire time I was there so I didn't really get an idea of how busy this place can get. Son did my mani and did an excellent job! The lady doing my pedi also did an excellent job and I was very pleased with the polish job from both - very detailed! I will definitely go back! They are a bit on the pricer side for a mani pedi (I paid $42) but definitely worth it for the attention to detail and cleanliness. read more

I've been here a few times for a quick brow touch up and a polish with no problems, until now. In regards to my brows, the wax was so hot it left burn marks on my lids. I didn't get the full sensation until after I got home and noticed my lids had started to become very red. The owner also failed to tell me she was low on the gel polish I chose. Instead she decided to put my choice underneath something she thought was close to it. I ended up with something hideous that I couldn't just wipe off with polish remover. Sigh. I walked in I told the woman and man that I just wanted a feeling they first said OK 20 minutes. I proceeded to pick up my color and then The man and woman start communicating in foreign language and then the man turns to me and says it's going to be 30 minutes. I said OK that's fine then he says oh well it's going to be 35 minutes I said OK that's fine. he then said are you sure you want to wait I said yes he said I could leave and come back I said sir I would not mind waiting. after the man and woman started talking in a foreign language again and looked very irritated they clearly did not want to service me for whatever reason. so I got my things and left I'm all about second chances this is why I came the second time considering they are right down the street from my home but in the future I will be driving 20 minutes out just to get good service. This place is DISGUSTING!!! I had an appointment for 1:15. They acknowledged that I had an appointment. Nothing else was said to me. At 1:30 I was told 10 more minutes. The lady had finished working on someone's nail and got up to help the guy with his client. That made absolutely no sense. I went to the table they told me to sit at. The area was so nasty. The table was dirty and the container you soak the tools in was dirty with residue on the container. I left! This place was so bad!i just moved to the neighborhood and was hoping to make it my neighborhood salon but do not go there!! They rushed me and didn't care about what my nails looked like. The male who did my nails seemed like he had never done gel nails before. There was nail polish all over my hands and it looked like a 3 year old painted my nails. I had to even ask to remove all the nail polish from my hands. Don't waste your time! Rather go down the road to the salon that actually cares about the service they provide. I've gone to this place off and on for years when I'm in the area. Every time I go I remember why this isn't my regular place. The place is clean enough. They have a good but somewhat limited polish selection. The chairs are comfortable until the massage function starts and then they are simply painful. The TV is always blaring but I'm beginning to think you can't find a nail salon where they allow you to relax without TV. The real problem is the staff is always aggressively trying to get you to agree to extra services so they can charge more for their services. The catch is they don't always tell you there is an additional $10 charge for just about everything. Trust me, a mani-pedi here can get very expensive. I had a great first experience at Nail Magic. I paid $52 for a brow wax, mani, and pedi. The brow wax was fine: they got the job done. The mani didn't chip for a week and I am really tough on my nails so that is actually impressive. The pedicure is still perfect 3 weeks later after lots of days in heels or flip flops. Horrible quality/end product. It hasn't even been a week and my nails are already starting to separate from the nail bed, specifically at the bottom. The lady who did my nails (I believe the part owner) didn't even clean up the cuticles. She rushed painting them, and I ended up having gel polish on the bottom of my fingers too - they were all sticky and she just disregarded that. I would NOT recommend this nail salon. They do a decent job on gel manis and pedis - I just wish I knew how much it costs exactly. On one occasion, I paid $45 for an acrylic soak-off and gel mani but two weeks later paid $110 for a gel mani and pedi. So, I'm assuming my pedi was $65 which is not ok. Nail Magic has to be the most prejudice shop in Atlanta. This shop is located in Buckhead across the street from Justin's. They have no prices listed and they just charge you whatever they feel like. After getting a pedicure for my daughter and I the owner tried to tell me I owed him $95. Then he change the price three times after I disputed my bill. Meanwhile, the other ladies that work in the shop continued to scream out racial slurs and yell about how they wished "black people wouldn't come into their shop." The other black women and I suggested that they put a sign in the window if they didn't want African Americans in their store. I would NOT suggest this shop....and considering they don't like African Americans I wouldn't recommend it for any other race who is disgusted by racism. read more

I waited there 20 minutes for a rude, cursing, nail tech to do my nails who reeked of cigarette smoke. She cursed repeatedly as bill collectors called her phone as she did my nails and got an attitude anytime I mentioned something regarding my nails, to the point where she told me, "don't worry about this, I got this!" Far too expensive for what you get and very unprofessional. The girl who did my nails forgot to include the massage, never soaked or trimmed my cuticles, and had an entire phone conversation on speaker phone almost the entire time while she painted my nails. After my nails dried I asked about the massage and she told me she forgot because she's so hungry and tired and then gave me a 5 minute massage with pineapple oil. I got essentially a French manicure but instead of being charged 5.00 I Was charged 10.00. Maybe I wouldn't be so annoyed about their service had it been cheaper - a sort of "you get what you pay for" type of place with "character" but after leaving spending nearly 30 dollars (tip included) I just feel ripped off. read more

If I could give this place 0 stars I would!!! Absolutely horrible!!! Came in here to get my nails done and paid $50 for one of the worst nail jobs ever. I'm in my 30s and have been getting acrylic nails since I was 17, so I know how nails should be done. I got a fill! They struggled with my shape and insisted on putting the white on my French much lower than I wanted and it looked horrible. Not to mention she didn't drill/file my nails properly after adding new acrylic. My nails were uneven and I have tons of extra acrylic all around my cuticles. Then I asked her if she should replace one of my nails because of how much it had lifted and she ignored me. I went back the next day to have them fix all the mistakes they made and all they did was fight me and said, are you ready for this, that is was "my fingers." I nearly fell off my chair. She wanted to charge me for all her mistakes and started to "fix" them with no effort and called me picky. I had to go up the street to get them fixed at a different salon who confirmed ALL of her mistakes. Awful! Dont waste your time or money! Horrible business people and you would have thought it was their first day doing nails. Oh and the nail I asked her to replace just popped off. It's Monday and I was only there Thursday. Who knew a simple men's pedicure and regular woman's (with a poor massage might I add) would equal $80?!?! Ok so this was my first time getting my nails done here, and the only reason i went is because i was pressed for time and was in the area. So when i went &got a pedicure and fill. The pedicure was fine it was done by one of the male workers there; i liked it. now the fill was done by a older lady which was the owner; and i HATED it! I simply asked her to clean up the shape of my nails and even showed her a picture. She exclaimed that she could not do it, so i asked her to just clean up the sides and that's that. the next thing i know she totally BUTCHERS the shape of my nails lol like the were so lop-sided. I told her to please stop and ill have someone else in the shop to fix it. long story short the lady at the shop TRIES to fix it but barely knew what she was doing because she made them so thin and pointy i was just ready to go. So i simply asked her how much and if i could get a discount since i was so dissatisfied with the service and quality. the owner declines; we go back and forth. she stills refuses to give me a discount and says its my fault for my nails being ugly! lol i was so frustrated horrible customer service.
