Perfect for a working mom who can't be spending hours at the nail salon. And my gel manicures have always lasted at least 3-4 weeks. I've never made an appointment and just walk-in with no issues - although I tend to go when they just open/early mornings. And no specific person because every single one is incredibly capable. I have three daughters and they all go there too. One lives in North Carolina and whenever she can she'll wait and get her nails done by Ellen when she's visiting. This was probably the worst pedicure I've ever received in my entire life. Went in and got a pedicure for $30 + extra charge to paint with regular nail polish. Pedicures should include regular polish painting in the price. My Nail tech was rude and wasn't even wearing her name tag so can't name drop. The tools she used to cut cuticles and push them back were all unclean and weren't sterilized in between clients. On top of that the salon is not cleaned well. I would love to leave 0 stars but unfortunately I cant. I was also not surprised to see how many 1 star reviews they had after I went. I wish I would've seen before I went there. Don't go here if you want to get your nails done, because these people are just trying to do the bare minimum and don't enjoy their job, and the experience is so awful. My friend that was also with me got a pedicure and her feet were still rough on the bottom after. They rush through the process and don't care enough to do a good job. I went here a week ago with my friend Mar and was a little hesitant. I'm a severe nail biter and most places I've been to since I moved to CT have been very judgmental and wouldn't service me because either they "couldn't" or just wouldn't. If I was able to get a manicure from those places, they'd give me something completely different than what I had asked for originally. This was not the case at Colorcity by any stretch of the imagination. I had a gentleman named Daniel and he gave me the extensions I asked for as well as gel nails to reinforce them. They haven't cracked, chipped, or fallen off and they're still strong and perfect-looking as the day I got them. Daniel was extremely nice and he answered all my questions. He and his manager made sure I was comfortable and happy; we were all joking around! Mar and her nail tech Vivian even joined in and it was a really nice time. I mean is there anything better then a good pampering session? I know...a pampering session from a place that you feel comfortable in. When I first moved to this area I was a little nervous about the process of finding a place. I mean you read reviews and you hear horror stories and it can really put you off from the whole experience. In an act of "I'm going to just do it," it was a little late and I needed to find a place that was open and still taking customers. Colorcity was the first (and closest) place I found and even though they were in the process shutting down for the day they still took me. And they were very pleasant about it and gave me no attitude or feelings like I was holding them up. AND I got a free hand lotions that smelled amazing. The rest has been history! Venue: Open, bright, CLEAN, and ventilated (because some of these places can smell like feet fresh from the gym). I've been to a good amount of nail spas and some of them can look a little rundown like they put more effort into their services and not maintaining the upkeep. Colorcity has a very upscale look and feel to it. Like, before you even sit down you get the impression that the services you're going to get are top notch. Service(s): So there's a whole menu of things that you can get done from the basic stuff like manicure/pedicure. Then they have their spa packages that are more elaborate and soothing (I haven't taken advantage of these options because I'm just plain like that but the people I see opting for those services always look super relaxed and satisfied). They offer massage services. I believe I also heard someone come in and ask to have their eyebrows done. So there's a little something for everyone. All of the technicians seem to know what they're doing and I have yet to witness an outwardly unsatisfied customer. I will admit, that I've experienced maybe 10-15 technicians and have only had one experience that wasn't so favorable. She was a little too rough for my liking but outside of that, everyone is legit. I have my favorites but if you just walk in and work with whomever is available, you won't be disappointed. Also, all of their tools are clean and not too harsh looking. You know how you go to some places and they pull their kit out but it looks like they're either a butcher or a dentist? Not here. Misc.: From what I gather...this place is pretty popular and there's a chance that if you show up during peak hours you maybe have to wait or they'll suggest coming back a few minutes later. They're really good about their time though so if they say come back in 10 minutes, you'll most likely be seen in 10 minutes or less. If you can help it, I'd suggest avoiding weekends between 11AM-2PM and during the week after work hours because they get pretty packed. I went there with a friend so we had two appointments. My friend got her nail tech in about 10 mins. I got someone after almost 35 mins of waiting. We both had to get out of there within the hour so that didn't happen. Fiorst, 1 woman cleaned my nails, then another man did them after making me wait yet again. At checkout I pay for their service and the oldest lady there (that's the only way I know her) is at the counter. She has the audacity to ask me to give more tip saying it's not enough. I gave $5 for a $35 service. 20 % is if I was fully satisfied which I wasn't after waiting that long and having two people work on my nails. But she was obnoxious and rude. I then took back the $5 , gave her the $10 and said "your service is very poor and asking for tips is extremely rude. But here you can have this, I'm never coming back here again" -I don't think she understood me. Never again. read more

Now I know those aren't really a thing anymore, but I broke a nail and wanted some length, so I asked for acrylics instead of my usual gel manicure. I left with a bleeding finger, some bumpy and misshapen nails, and it was expensive. $50 for acrylic nails, and they tried to talk me into $70 to add gel polish saying regular would chip?? Color me impressed! This nail salon is massive. 11 pedicure chairs! Incredible color selection of OPI and Essie. Located in a shopping center, so parking is not an issue. I came in for a regular pedicure to try the place out. $27 for the regular, which includes a 5 minute massage (hot stones used too) and paraffin for your heels. I have been going for about a year and half, generally loving all my experiences. Review is based on multiple experiences! I usually go for gel manicure, which turn out lovely and last a good 2 weeks. Depending on who you get, some may not be AS skilled as others, in removing the gel correctly. Therefore, it makes your nails extremely weak, thin and sometimes will cause it to rip. Speak up if you know how gels should be removed and you feel the process is too damaging for your nails. I've only experienced 2 technicians who have caused this to happen to my nails. Otherwise, all amazing. Pedicures will last me a while so haven't gotten many. Overall, it's an ok experience. I haven't done any of the packages so cannot speak about those. There was a pedicure I did receive from a man, however, he only started the process of filing and shaping my toe nails. But due to his roughness and me flinching my toes away, they switched me to a lady. I'd recommend this place over any place within or near Stamford! Quality is near that of those places in NYC and LA. read more

Terrible, shameful experience, rude stuff, DO NOT RECOMEND. I went to the nail salon over the holiday season on Dec 30th and found the salon to be very busy and filled with many clients. I had been here before a few times so the workers knew and recognized me. Upon arrival I asked for a normal manicure. One of the girls invited me to her table and asked what I wanted done. I explained I wanted a normal manicure with a glossy clear topcoat, no other color applied. She then began to work on my nails but was in an extreme rush. I noticed the work to be sloppy with many imperfections, but decided to not mention as she was still working and there were a lot of people in the salon. Much to my surprise, in 5 minutes she was done and sent me to the drying area. After a few minutes I touched my nails to see if they were dry only to find that the nails were extremely rough and not buff/smooth at all as is normal after a manicure. By this time, she was already working on a pedicure for another client. I went over and nicely asked her about the roughness on my nails at which point she said something in her language to the owner of the salon. He came over and very aggressively said that it is somehow my fault the nails were not smoothed out because I didn't tell them sooner and that it would be an extra $5 to fix. I agreed to the extra charge. He invited me to his table and brought a paper bill for $5 which he shoved in my face. As he was working on my nails I showed him the other imperfections, aside from the roughness, and he began to scream at me. He jumped from his chair waving his arms that I needed to leave the salon and never return. This was absolutely the worst nail salon experience I have ever had. The staff and particularly the male owner are extremely rude, dismissive, and do not treat customers with any respect. I would urge all to look for an alternate salon where they will be appreciated as clients and where quality work will be done - this is NOT the place for it. read more

Alright after a long long road and many nail salons later i have found my go to nail salon and tech!! This is my 4th time doing SNS Powder Gel at color city (i used to only do regular gel with them but on and off), I didn't want to fall in love with it too quickly because once I do that the powder ends up cracking and my hopes are let down. My first time doing SNS here, lasted me 3 weeks (i bartend and a FT student), the past 4 times my nails have lasted me 3 weeks... Sophia has been the only one I've been seeing and she knows exactly what I want. I'm obsessed with how my nails have been looking. She does one hand first and then the next and I really like her method that way each nail is identical to the other hand. Ask for sophia or ivy but I'm sure majority of the nail techs are just as great. read more
