I have been coming here for several years. Since the beginning of Covid I started coming less frequently because I was getting manicures and pedicures less often, however I have been a longtime client for the last 6 years. Today was the last time I will go here. I went for a gel manicure and a pedicure. I was seated and the woman who started working on my feet repeatedly hurt my foot. She was aggressive in pushing back my cuticles and I literally gasped in pain it hurt so much. I looked down and my cuticle was bleeding. I pointed this out and once again said to her, "this is really painful". She didn't respond and instead an older woman took over for her. She also said nothing to me and I asked her "are those tools she was using on me sterilized because I'm bleeding." She simply said yes and shrugged. She proceeded to give me a borderline aggressive pedicure. No massage, shoved my feet and legs around. It was the opposite of relaxing. Then on to the gel manicure. She had to remove my gels from 3 weeks ago (that were applied by another staff member there). She acted annoyed that she had to remove the gels. The color I chose was a pinky-purple. Once it was all cured and dried I ended up with a deep red. She definitely didn't use the color I chose. At that point I just needed to get out of there. It was once again the opposite of relaxing, albeit less painful than the pedicure. My toes look subpar and my big toe still hurts. My nails weren't cured long enough and look dull. It was all in all awful and I won't be returning. read more

Came here after waiting 30 minutes at Coco nails next door. Asked for subtle light pink gel nails. The manicurist applied the clear gel coat and cured it with the UV gel. After this, she told me that the color I picked out was not available and I had to pick from the only 2 pinks they had. Both were hot pink. Since she had cured the bottom coat already it was too late to decide not to get a manicure. After she painted my nails which took around 1 hour, they were left a complete mess, cuticles unclipped, polish all around my nails, lumpy gel with bubbles and crusty edges. I was very disappointed. I have been to this salon several times (probably about 6 times), for pedicures and gel manicures. I would NOT recommend it, and after my final experience today I will not be going back. My experience here is wildly different depending on whether I am with my Mother, or whether I go by myself (I am 25 years old). The employees at this salon blatantly ignore younger customers, choosing instead to focus on the older customers instead. In addition, the actual nail-painting is just subpar. Today, I got a pedicure - they sat me in a pedicure chair, and sat an older woman in the pedicure chair next to me about 15 minutes later. Someone came over to start the older woman's pedicure before mine - the woman pointed to me and noted that I was there first, at which point the employee begrudgingly began my pedicure, instead. I wasn't impressed with the pedicure (the massage on my legs and feet), and my toes could have used one or two more coats of polish - I will have to re-do them myself now. As I sat waiting for my toes to dry, I was ignored by the three employees who were going around massaging every single customer (customers receive a massage while they get their manicures, or after their pedicures while their toes are drying). Another young woman around my age was also ignored, as was my younger sister. Every single older woman at the salon received a massage and was treated much more pleasantly than we were. I go to get my nails done to have a relaxing, pleasant experience. I do not enjoy being ignored and feeling as though employees are being rude to me. Again, I have had this experience at Sun Spa several times - my lesson is learned, and I will be going to a different nail salon from now on. read more

The quality of this salon has gone immensely downhill. I had a 2+ hour dip manicure with tip extension, and the nails were so uneven. I asked for a long coffin shape, and the difference in shape and length was insane. The polish also started chipping within a week of getting the set--unheard of for a dip manicure. I have been coming here for 10 years and since the new ownership has changed it has been terrible. The woman I saw yesterday for a pedicure was clearly new and not trained. She kept asking other workers what to do for a sea salt pedicure which had been on their menu all 10 years I've been coming. She also didn't just file my nails but the tops of them catching the skin all around which felt like it was on fire the whole pedicure. I kept flinching and saying ouch and she scoffed to herself every time. I now have scabs around my nails where she broke skin. She then made me turn off the massage chair because she said she couldn't do my nails. Again, never has anyone done that. It was a horrible experience and after 10 years of business to them only I will never go back. read more

Floris...(now known as SUN) I (still) love you!!! I have a new "go to" nail place. Sun just opened in a brand new building next to the library in town center. The salon is beautiful inside, and amazingly clean so I expected a high price tag. I was wrong. A basic manicure is $10, Pedicure $25. My favorite are the spa pedicure options, which range from $45-$65 and includes an extra leg massage and a 10 minute chair massage. I am amazed by the massages. You also get a massage at the drying table for a tip, even if you just got a basic manicure. Wonderful!!!! I believe that Sun is becoming "the" nail salon in Wilton, as it far surpasses the quality of its local competitors. read more

Worst manicure ever. Went in with better nails than I walked out with. When politely alerted to obvious mistakes (bubbles and craters due to rushing through coats) the manicurist first tried to cover them up with another coat...on top of the top coat. Then,when it was pointed out by myself and another patron that they were still clearly flawed, lumps and bumps covering the bubbles, she tried to remove the polish from only the worst looking nails (ignoring the fact that indeed every nail looked this way). Finally, icing on the cake, the manager decided to blame me by saying that I must have moved while they were drying...As if I'm an idiot that doesn't understand how and why bubbles form. I'd pre-tipped 50%. No apologies, no remedy. Letting an honest and kind customer leave upset - bad business ladies. read more

I started going to Sun when they opened a few years ago in the new yellow building next to the library, and I've been hooked since the first visit. I'm now a Saturday/Sunday regular, and if I have to miss it for any reason, I'm a grumpy mess! The space is big, airy, tastefully modern, and meticulously clean. May, the friendly receptionist, greets almost everyone by name- no idea how she remembers so many people. It does get busy, especially on weekends, but they manage to keep things moving and occasionally offer free tea, so the wait is never too long. At $10, the regular manicure is the best deal in Fairfield County. It's a big staff, so there are some technicians I prefer over others, but I've never had a bad one. They also just added a keratin treatment for an additional $2, which involves a scrubby exfoliating gel and little plastic gloves filled with warm lotion-- great for dry winter hands! But best part-- the real reason this place is such a great value-- is the amazing neck & shoulder massages both during the manicure AND while drying. Seriously, it ends up being about 20-30 combined minutes of massage, often the best 30 minutes of my week. I usually end up tipping the massage ladies about 100%, because it's SOOO worth it! Note, if it's super busy they sometimes can't do everyone twice, and they generally don't massage kids or teenagers (I get it-- teens aren't dependable tippers, I suppose. ;-) My one criticism, and it's a small one-- somebody on the staff has a fondness for Barry Manilow-style adult contemporary music and from time to time gets their hands on the sattelite radio dial. Horrible experience. I usually go to Coco nails across the street, but went here since Coco was busy. The man who started to do my SNS powder took 20 minutes to even plug in the buffer to start my nails. Then, midway through, switched to another lady to do my nails and she ruined them completely. Filed my nails down to as short as possible and made me bleed. It was obvious she had never done an SNS powder manicure and it looks like a toddler did my nails. I didn't have time to stay another 1.5 hrs, and had to fight to get a credit to come back at a later time to get them redone. Very disappointed and will never come back here again. read more

I went to Sun for the first time on Black Friday and it was understandably crowded. However, I was seated pretty quickly, and though I had to wait, I was comfortable and the staff was attentive, asking if I wanted tea or water, apologizing for the wait, and updating me as to when my pedicure was to begin. I ended up splurging on a special, sea salt pedicure (I'm a sucker for callus removal treatment), and was surprised at the great value of his special pedicure. For $45 plus tax and tip I got a leg masque, callus removal treatment, a 10 minute leg massage, paraffin treatment for my heels (which seems to come with regular pedicures too), and a 10 minute chair massage (very good compared to other massages I've gotten at salons). The facilities were clean and comfortable and the staff was great. I don't exactly live nearby (I'm from Norwalk) but I'd pop up to Sun for another pedicure if I were in the area or as a special treat! Thank you! read more

I spent my entire adolescence life trying to find a nice nail salon to regularly go to, constantly looking for a great service along with friendly workers - finally about 9 years ago, I found Sun Spa & Nails. This is EVERYTHING I've ever wanted in the perfect nail salon - I am greeted BY NAME every single time by the manager when I walk in, I am seated immediately, always offered tea or water, will get 1-2 complimentary massages, AND my gel manicures, pedicures, and waxes are ALWAYS fantastic. Consistency is key for me and every worker at this salon is reliably and friendly. May (the manager) always makes me feel so warm and welcome. I absolutely refuse to go anywhere else! Came in to make an appointment for after work today, ended up have manicure/pedicure done at same time, which is awesome! and saved me loads of time. The ladies were super nice, and even helped me pick out colors (I'm indecisive at best). Super clean, got a cup of tea, and an unexpectedly awesome massage. I 'upgraded' to a spa pedicure, and the hot stone was delightful, and the whole experience didn't break the bank and makes me want to bring friends back! I just left the salon and can say this was honestly the worst manicure/pedicure I've ever gotten. Nails were not shaped as I requested; color is either streaky, bubbled, missing spots, or on the skin, and just sloppy near the cuticles. To add to this disaster I never even got a massage! (First world problems, I know.) The woman seated next to me was massaged while getting her nails painted AND at the drying station. Staff watched as I removed the toe separators and put my shoes on without coming over for the top coat. Overall a mess and huge waste of $35. read more

I went to Sun Spa this past Sunday and it was a terrible experience. I walked in and told the front desk lady that I wanted a manicure/pedicure. She tells me to choose my color and then shuttles me to a manicure station. I looked at her a little funny but then just sat down and a male technician began filing my nails. After about 10 minutes, front desk lady tells me she is switching my technician and a female tech comes over and starts filing my nails. She proceeds to spill some kind of hot oil on my hands, does not wipe it off. She did not soak my nails in a bowl or apply cuticle oil to my cuticles before she started cutting. I asked her to use cuticle oil. She then starts digging her sharp nail into my hand while trying to give me a hand massage. It got even worse while giving me a pedicure. She dumped the bottle of a green exfoliating gel on my feet, did not buff or scrub my feet or legs, and then forgets to apply base coat to my toes while she is polishing which I called her out for. I complained to the front desk lady and she tells me well i can put a note in your file not to give you this technician again. I said no you don't understand I'm not coming back here. You switched me to some trainee who did a horrible job and its your fault. She gave me a $6 dollar discount I paid and left. Needless to say, I am NEVER going back there. The staff is rude and unprofessional. No one greets you when you come in. They act like they're doing YOU a favor. Too bad I'll be switching to COCO nails across the street and will no longer be a customer. read more

I live out of town now for college, but when I am back in Wilton, I make a point to go back to Sun. It is very rare to find a gem like Sun. A manicure costs $10, a French manicure costs $15. I have done both and absolutely love it. The polish is very lasting and stays on for a while. When you walk in, the decor is absolutely beautiful. It's very clean and upscale looking. I am usually a walk in, if they can't accommodate you immediately, they offer you water or something to drink, and give you updates on when the next tech is available. In the meantime, you can choose a polish color from their shelves of polish. I must emphasize the selection- I love it. Other places that give manicures in the $10 range have terrible selection. Sun has OPI, Essie, Color Club, and they have the newest color collections available. The range of colors is fabulous too. When you sit down, the nail techs are very polite and kind. They do fabulous work. Their tools are also sterilized in an autoclave. They open the sterilized packages right before they work on your nails. After they trim and cut your nails and get a nice arm and hand massage with lotion, you pay for the manicure, then they do the painting so you don't ruin the polish. They have a convenient shelf for purses that pulls out on the client side of the nail desks. They paint your nails and do a wonderful job, I have yet to get a manicure with bubbles forming in it. After the manicure they lead you to the nail drying station. There are magazines for your perusing pleasure. The nail techs understand that your nails are drying and carry over your stuff to the nail drying station. While your nails are drying, there are complementary shoulder and neck massages. I always tip at this place because their quality of work is superb. I love this place and I wish I could find a nail salon like Sun everywhere I go. Oh, they also have a reward system. $1 is 1 point. The membership cards are free, so there's nothing to lose. Once you hit certain points you can get a free manicure / pedicure / facial / etc. based on how many you rack up. read more

The salon and the massage room look a lot better than typical salons. The masseuse is a real professional and did her best to get the knots out of me. I had gel done on my nails and it lasted over 3 weeks! Any other place I have gone to, the polish starts to lift by the end of the 2nd week, but it was still on by mid 3rd week. A little pricey, but definitely worth it since it lasts so long! The only negative was that while I was getting nails done, a customer called and complained that she didn't get her massage while getting nails done. The manager then told all the workers to make sure you are offering everyone a massage. No one asked me if I wanted a massage after that.. Very hit or miss. I've had 5 manicures there over the past few months. Crowded but never a long wait at all, sort of good and bad. Feels like a factory operation, can be very rushed and sloppy when the shop is busy..doing nothing to cuticles, no lotion, and a thick gloppy polish job. Personally, I'd rather wait and get a decent manicure. I will say all nail technicians are very nice and the complimentary back massage for tip only is amazing. Those women deserve 5 stars. Went for a manicure... not impressed. The employees were condescending and barely spoke English, making remarks with a sassy/rude tone to each other in their native language. I am new to the area and was looking for a new nail salon. I called in advance and made an appointment for my services. The facility is nice and the management was warm and friendly. However the manicurists were rude, and unprofessional. We were discouraged from getting certain services because the manicurist thought it would take too long. She also refused to do our manicures because we had gel nails and she didnt have time. Remember I called in advance to avoid these issues. My pedicure is 2 days old and is already chipping. I was beyond disgusted with the I was treated in this salon and since there is a nail salon every 2 blocks I will never go back. read more
