Trust, I've gotten my…read morenails done in Compton, Harlem and now West Philly, it's all the same, but not always in a bad way. What makes it rachet is the location, not the service or shop itself. I went in initially on a Saturday afternoon, and the wait was pretty long as to be expected, so I sat in the little waiting area for my turn. The clients were yelling, and cursing and basically just being a stereotypical mess, but that doesn't really faze me, so whatever (if that would bother you, this may not be your spot). Got tired of waiting, so I left and came back early Sunday morning. It was a completely different place. The girls working (who are all sisters, and gorgeous btw) were very sweet, professional and funny. They were quick, did a great job and I was on my way. It's now hard to wear sneakers and it is visibly and sensationally apparent that the injured toes that are swollen and painful on the sides that were cut/ ripped too deeply. I felt the pain and saw the blood instantly, and said something but the nail tech still didn't take her time after that. Her apology was brief and the mistakes were left unaddressed at the end. I have had pedicures and manicures before but this was easily my most painful experience, both during and after. I also found that the polish on my finger nails should've been applied closer to the bottom of the nail (where the cuticle was). Why would you go through the work of removing the cuticle if you're not going to also take the time to apply the polish well? Maybe some of the other nail techs are more gentle but it'll be a long time before I consider going back. It was busy so some nail techs must be good, but I can only report on my very negative experience.

Everyone I spoke with was super nice and they took me as a walk in on a Friday. When my nail tech took my old dip off she was a bit sloppy, so some of the melted dip powder got into my fingers (it's not the easiest to get off), as well as nail polish under my nails. I asked for almond but she did a rounded tip instead, which isn't a huge deal but I would have picked a different color. Lastly, a few of my nails were filed down unevenly, and a few of the tips are ragged. It was $45+ tip for the dip which is a reasonable price but I don't think it was the best job. I do think my nail tech was newer because I saw the work of a few other techs and it was amazing. I will definitely return because it's so easy to get to, but I wish I had gotten the names of some of the more experienced techs so I could request them.

I went in as a walk in and was almost immediately sitting in a chair. the lady servicing me asked if I wanted to cut my nails and I told her yes, and keep them square. I kept looking at my nails throughout the service and it looked good. it wasn't until I went back to my hotel and was barefoot that I noticed two toenails were crooked. l would've noticed if I wore flip flops but it's winter and I had on sneakers. Anyway, I couldn't file them myself so I went back the next day and had to wait about 10 mins to see another manicurist, and she fixed the two nails for me and she was kind about it. all and all I love the gel color and the pedicure was nice. I have no complaints other than the shape issue.

But the owner "Tracy" went off on her telling her "you don't know what you are talking about!" The client then said" why are you being so rude? I need you to explain the products to me." Tracy then said: " I am not rude you just don't know what you are talking about!" As the owner ran out to an appointment she laughed and told all of us: "I need a break from all you guys!" The salon was not full and it was 11:00am. The other technicians appear to be afraid of her.
