My first time coming here was also my LAST TIME. I saw Lisa and I told her I wanted acrylics with no chip on top. She said she doesn't do that and talked me into getting gel x because it's better and healthier for your nails. When asking me the shape I want, I stated square with rounded edges.. in which she responded "boring." I laughed it off, but then, she started doing my nails and they were very long and narrow. When I said I wanted square she responded "no honey, your fingers too fat. Not look good." Excuse me? I'm a first timer and this is what you're going to say? Then she put them on crooked and when I called it to her attention she said "no that your fingers." After insulting me during the whole visit she said ok come back 2 weeks, fill. She charged me $75 and not even two weeks went by and my nails started lifting up completely. When washing my hair in the shower my hair was getting stuck underneath the lifted portion of my nails! I really enjoyed my experience here. I live right above this building so I decided to run in one day when I needed a color change. The ladies here are super friendly, efficient, and do a great job at nails. I didn't get catch the lady's name who did mine, but she was awesome. They have a pretty good selection of nail colors. I came in on a Tuesday (around 3:30) and made an appointment for 4:30. I showed them a couple photos of what I wanted to my wedding over the weekend. Christy was able to give me exactly what I wanted! She is very experienced and kept making sure I was happy with them. My sister in law got a gel polish and since she usually goes to another salon they were even able to find the same color here! It is a good idea to make an appointment if you can and if you want something specific to bring a picture. Christy is really great and I think she usually gets booked so I got lucky! read more

Not sure if I will be returning though....my nails look horrible after 5 days, and let me assure you that I DO NOT wash dishes, work in construction, or paint for a living. Gel polish is about 1/18 of an inch from my skin, and the white (whatever brand they used) is definitely NOT white anymore. Manicure was great, pedicure even better, because my feet look phenomenal! I live nearby and thought I would stop in for a gel mani. I first asked if they accepted cards and was assured they did. The lady who did my nails was very sweet but I asked her twice to paint the color a little closer to my cuticle because she was painting starting a third of the way down my nails. She did not, so consequently one week into my manicure the black gel was halfway down my nails. When I went to pay she said they did not take tips on credit cards. TF I JUST asked. So I had to get cash and bring it back to her. Whatever, not the end of the world. Two and a half weeks later I decided to go back even though I didn't have the best first experience. I told the lady (a different manicurist) that I wanted my nails slightly narrow and round. She laughed (?) and made them so coffin...I told her they were really narrow and she told me my nails had broken? They had not she just botched the shape. I went to pay and noticed a large blob of red gel had been baked onto my the bottom of my fingertip. She didn't even notice and I had to peel it off my skin, which hurts, btw. She told me my gel manicure was $40...didn't know they charged to remove the gel that THEY applied. She also used the electric drill to remove the gel on my NATURAL nails. One week later my nail chipped and half the polish came off. I called to make sure they would fix it. I walked in and they asked what I needed and I said I had called for a fixed nail and the lady goes, " OH, YOU'RE THE ONE WHO CALLED!" Everyone in the salon turned and was staring at me. I immediately pointed out the color for them and noticed EVERY SINGLE WORKER was still staring at me. They all proceeded to start speaking in another language. The lady next to me was even uncomfortable. It took FOUR people to fix my nail. As I left, the lady next to me was like, "it took a whole village to fix that one nail...". I am obviously not ever returning, BUT wait. I came home and noticed my nail was peeling. The same one they had just fixed. The entire nail peeled right off. They hadn't removed the polish and redone the whole nail, they just added a bunch of layers on top. So, 9 red nails for Valentine's Day and one...naked. Lovely. Save your money, go somewhere that doesn't suck. read more

I was looking for a place to eat on Ohio Street this evening and saw Nail Perfection. The sign said open and I did some hand signals with the staff through the window to see about getting a manicure. They waved me and I was seated at the nail bar. It is a fun place to people watch and the technician was fast efficient and did a great job. I got in just before the "after work " rush and I was so lucky. $25 for a manicure, no color, just a buff. It was quick but detailed and I'm very pleased. My nails look so much better!! read more

We stayed at a hotel one block away and were referred to a different nail salon. However, the other place had an hour and a half wait, so we decided to come here since it was around the corner. The space is very small and tightly packed. It's certainly no frills. I don't think the pedicure bowls are cleaned very thoroughly between customers, just a few squirts of cheap cleaning product you can get from a grocery store. The staff constantly have loud conversations. There are no seats for waiting customers (???). Never seen this before. It appears they are more focused on quantity versus quality - get us in and move us out quickly. I received a super short leg massage (just a few rubs basically). Nothing extra offered here - hot stones, paraffin, etc. Manicure was quick too, and I didn't like how he kept snatching my arms/hands towards him. Again, just got the feeling that they want to quickly finish to get to the next person. There were only two tiny seats at a joint drying station for feet and hands. My mani pedi wasn't the best or worst I've had. If I need this done again on any return trips to Chicago, I will go somewhere else hopefully nicer, cleaner and more relaxing. Love Nail Perfection! They consistently do a wonderful job and the staff is so nice! Once I even had a crack in my nail (separate from getting my nails done) and made a visit here to see if they could do anything. They fixed it right away, and didn't even charge me. I've gotten multiple pedicures and they always last a long time (at least a month) as well as mani polish changes and no-chip manis, and I've always been pleased with the results. There is a very warm, neighborhood, family-type vibe...so happy I live close to this salon! read more

My nails looked better when I walked in the salon. I chose a dark maroon dip color and the technician said the staining all around the nail happens with dark colors. I find this hard to believe as I've had plenty of dark colors without this issue at other salons. My nails look like a 5-year old art project. He tried sanding my skin to remove the color. Then continued to try and cut/trim away skin to remove color. My skin is currently glued to the nail and is very uncomfortable. I would not recommend or ever go back. A complete waste of $45. read more

I stopped in on a Wednesday night after work for a pedicure and a full set of gels. I had no appointment but they made time to get me in. They even stayed after closing to finish my manicure even after I told them I could come back another day as i didn't want to keep anyone late. I dealt with a few different staff members and each one was accommodating and friendly. To top everything off, my nails looked fantastic and they lasted a really long time. read more

I didn't think it was possible to mess up a pedicure, but it is here. After ripping up my cuticles and filing my toe nails in different shapes and lengths, the lady then used regular polish and tried to tell me it was gel. When the polish was cured under the light, it warped as expected and she was going to leave it like that. I asked her to remove it, which took another 20 min, ripping up my cuticles and nails more. After being there for over an hour, I left with unpainted toes. read more

Dip nails are supposed to be guaranteed for 14 days. Mine chipped in 24 hours. Nails were poorly done 7 out of 10 nails did not last more than 3 days. Went back to have them fix and had to pay. Will not be returning. read more

Christy does a great job with Brisa Sculpting Gel! It's similar to the acrylic look but way healthier for your nails. Moving here from Scottsdale it was hard to find a place that did Brisa and I'm happy with the results. This will become my new nail salon! read more

First time here and i honestly didn't have a good experience. Probably the worst nail salon I've been to. There were so many things that went wrong. First I was rushed to look for a nail color when there was only one other customer inside. The guy that painted my nails was so rough with my hands which made me feel extremely uncomfortable & he seemed to be bothered half the time. when i left the nail salon i realized there was a cut on my finger from him being so rough with his tools and it was bleeding. He definitely didn't care about my personal items when i was done with my pedicure, he just threw my shoes on the ground like they were his. I won't be back, and definitely will not recommend this place to anyone. There are so many other nail salons with much better service. read more
