I've been getting Gel-X consistently for over 5 years and have never experienced anything like this. I went to this salon on Wednesday for a full Gel-X set. The same day, one nail completely popped off. I went back and they fixed that nail, which I already felt wasn't normal. The next day, another nail came off. I called and was told I could come in to "fix it," but at that point I was already questioning the quality of the work. Then, within the next couple of days, three more nails came off. In total, five nails detached within days of service. This is clearly not normal wear -- it's an application/prep issue. What's most disappointing is that the only solution offered was repeatedly "come back and we'll fix it," with no acknowledgment of the inconvenience, no refund, and no offer to redo the full set, despite the obvious failure. Between the time wasted, the cost, and the frustration, this was a very poor experience. I won't be returning and wouldn't recommend this salon for Gel-X services. read more

I've had amazing service every time I've been here! I've been coming for a while now and must say as much as I want to keep her all for myself Ira does amazing work! Highly recommend going to her. Her attention to detail is highly appreciated. Salon is always clean and everyone is friendly. There's no weird tension between coworkers as is noticeable in some other places. I believe they do walk Ins but an appointment is always the preferred way so you don't end up waiting too long. You can even call to clarify about availability before showing up. I wouldn't say that the employees were the friendliest, but they were professional and polite and plus I don't really like to talk a lot during my appointments. It was my first time getting a pedicure. I first went in wanting a Russian pedicure not knowing what it actually was. But the kind lady informed me that the Russian pedicure is for someone who has thicker skin where they take the drill and remove (I'm guessing) like dead skin from the foot. And since I don't have thick skin on my feet she told me she would give me a regular pedicure. And I really appreciate the honestly! I also wanted French tip and the lady who was doing my pedicure before suggested I do gel so it lasts longer, so I did. And I just wanna emphasize how much effort both of the wonderful ladies doing my pedicure were putting. They both did an amazing job. I also appreciate how when she was doing my toe nails she kept asking me if I liked the shade, how the French tip looked, and if she was hurting me (which she wasn't). I don't usually take day offs, but when I do, I need to do something I can only do during the week. Everyone near my vicinity was BOOKED or CLOSED on a Monday. I called Nail Secrets right after my clinical appointment and just by chance, Angie took me within two hours of calling. Let me start by saying, I have never done gel x nails, nor do I get my nails done in general. At first the process was long. I showed Rose what I wanted but she did much better than the reference I had shown her. The process was a little uncomfortable; but Rose made it easy and entertained me the whole time. I really liked how my nails turned out, but the pain after was unbearable (this is my first time) . I was very close to getting my nails removed the next day. But after convincing from friends, I realized that maybe I should keep it to give it a try for a few more days. As I'm typing this, I don't regret getting them anymore. They look beautiful on me and I should've been patient with the process. The pain was really only temporary (lasted one whole day) since this is new to me. I went to Nail Secrets for the first time 5 weeks ago and my gel manicure chipped for the first time yesterday. This is the longest lasting manicure I've ever had. I got a gel pedicure at the same time and it still looks like new.
