Worth a second chance. I received a message from InStyle Nails letting me know they are under new management, and asking if would I give them an opportunity to show how they have improved. Since they are directly in my neighborhood, and I want to patron my community, I thanked them for contacting me, accepted their offer, and made an appointment for the next day. They were happy to accommodate me. When I arrived, I was greeted by name, thanked for coming, and offered a beverage by the lovely and talented, Trish. She was ready for me. They showed me to my pedicure chair and had a tub of warm water ready for me to begin my soak. Trish took exceptional care of me during my services. She has excellent pressure during massage and a steadier hand than anyone I have come across. There was zero polish to clean up on my skin and the entire nail was covered. She offered a lovely design on one nail as an accent, which I accepted and asked for a thin, simple chevron stripe. This is my first experience with a design and I was impressed with her attention to every detail, spacing, line thickness and consistency. It looks great! They offered me 20% of my services for giving them another chance to prove they could do better. As an improving business, I wanted my updated rating to be a three star to show definite improvement but Trish was above and beyond. And I think she deserves a 4 star rating. Reaching out to me the way they did is a good sign that they are genuinely interested in providing a positive experience, and producing excellent results. I have gone here since they 1st opened. In the beginning everyone did a great job no matter which technician did my nails. The downside was that they were extremely slow and unprofessional. I stopped going when my technician stopped my manicure to Skype her friend. Who does that?? Well, I received a flyer saying that In style was under new mangement, and since they are so close to my house, I decided to give them another try. The manager is very friendly, but manicures are hit or miss no matter who you go to. I can't speak on pedicure services because the one time I asked for a pedi, two workers argued about whether or not they had time to do it as my water basin was being filled. I had to walk out because at that point it was really uncomfortable. Not a place I would highly recommend, but they are good if you are not looking for anything amazing. read more

Went here on a whim because I was over due for a polish change at least and seeing the raving reviews, I thought that was a good idea. I was totally wrong. Granted the last place I went to for my nails did paint the polish thicker than usual ( I have gel) but the nail tech that did my nails soaked them again and again, which is normal since the polish was thick soaking them didn't help that much. She started peeling them off by hand which hurt so I asked her if she could use the machine. She responded that since it was gel polish, they don't use it. Ended up taking a lot of the top layer of my nails off and made it super sensitive and weak to the point where I couldn't stand having polish on. I later had to take it off and couldn't wear anything on my nails for about two weeks. I wish i had a better experience since this is super close to my house and was pricey. read more

I love , love, love this nail salon ! Everyone is so welcoming and attentive to your needs. I had been going to a nail salon in Herndon and quite frankly I had grown tired of the commute. I went on Yelp and found this nail salon closer to my home that had high marks and researched a bit further and found Trisha. I am so glad I did. She is a nail tech who takes pride in her work and never rushes. She loves to do designs as you can see on the posted pictures by other clients. Last but definitely the key to any great technician is her work quality is consistent. Now to be fair to the other nail techs there, my daughter has gone to the gentleman that works there and I've observed also the work of others all of which do a great job too. Tony & Jessica are amazing! They take their time and are very thorough. This place is very immaculate. Only spa that I have seen who puts plastic coverings over their foot baths. The place is very nice it's clean and I like the Decour but the quality of nail care is not what I am accustomed to. I want the first time and I had a problem with my nails chipping after a couple days lifting up and I try to contribute that to it being a new set because sometimes that happens with me. I went back and explain to them after 10 days that my nails were in horrible shape and that was not the norm. They were very happy to do them over for $10 discount now it has been five days and yes my nails are lifting and chipping. I can't say for sure if it's the product if they use or if it's the actual person that is doing my fill-in because I want to the same person both times. At this point I've decided that it is best that I find someone else because I am a Travel Nurse a new to the area that is not always easy. However I do believe in being fair which is why I did give them more than one chance. read more

at first i was reluctant to go due to a few of the negative yelp reviews, but i decided to go anyways since my mom's friend recommended it. i went with my sister as we both were very much in need to get our nails done. we both got the gel manicure ($35 each) and we absolutely loved the results. when we walked through the door, the staff was very welcoming and kind. they even brought all of the nail color samples to us (this was new to us because at other nail salons we had to pick the color we wanted ourselves by searching the shelves, which is very time consuming). i thought the staff here was more hands on than any other nail salon we have been to in the past. the only issue i had was that the woman who did my nails cut the cuticles a little too deep so i bled a little. other than that, we had a great experience overall. read more

Well I should have turned away and walked out when the lady texted on her phone for at least a minute when I first sat in her chair. The manicure was just ok. It was 35 for shellac, the most I've EVER paid in any city, even Seattle. When it was over she took and electric drill and filed down where there was polish near my cuticle and it was very uncomfortable. My skin near my cuticles burned for days when washing them. I did like the paraffin wax hand dip. I can walk to this place but I will be driving elsewhere! read more

Scheduled an appointment online for 10AM, I showed up at 9:58AM. The doors were closed and the lights were off. I waited until 10:15AM and left. I called them, they said "I've been here since 10AM, in the back." I am 100% sure no one was there at 10AM, delivery man even left because he was waiting too. She leads me to believe if I head back over there she'll take me in, when I get there (2 mins after the phone conversation) I see she is already with another client and proceeds to argue with me that she's been there since 10AM and she already had an appointment. Then says "let me call my boss." I just left. Very unprofessional! The door says business is open at 10AM, doors should be open at 10AM, furthermore at least apologize after making a mistake. read more

This place is nice a clean yet sadly the new manager is rude and unprofessional. Me and my mother walked in about about 2:26 for two pedicures got sat down right away by a nice man I didn't catch his name,anyway he started on my pedicure yet my mother sat till at least 3:10 before the lady to do her toes even acknowledged her existence in the pedicure chair. Once she came back claiming she was with a customer which was fine if she would have just said there was no one to do two pedis,she shouldn't have let her associate sit us both down if there wasn't two people to get us finished at the same time. When she was confronted about it she played the blame game and blamed her co worker when it was her fault and she is the manager. This is my favorite nail salon! A lot of people don't know it is here or know that the shopping center (Loudoun Station) is here. Jessica is amazing! She did my dipped powder nails for my wedding and my pedicure. I've had the other girls do my nails and eyebrow waxing too and they are very gentle and sweet. My eyebrows used to burn for hours after getting them done. Not at this place. I forgot I even had them done an hour later because it didn't hurt. Every time I come in, I'm asked about my husband or my job. It's really nice to have that sense of community. Definitely try them out! read more

I visited this salon based on good reviews and the fact that they consider themselves upscale. I scheduled an appointment for SNS nails. The customer service was great, no complaints there. My nail tech was very nice and welcoming. While she was dipping my nails, they looked really good. She sanded them down and put on a top coat, still looked great! I thought that would be the end of it. After they looked like they were done, she dipped them again into a white powder and put another top coat on them. Didn't sand the white powder or anything. After this, I could see they didn't look right but trusted her judgment anyway. She also cut two of my cuticles with the machine while she was sanding my nails. You can see the white powder just sitting on top of my nails, it looks almost as if I got a sparkly color when the color I chose had no sparkles whatsoever. Definitely feel I wasted money and probably won't go back here or get SNS nails again. I've watched several YouTube and Instagram videos of the SNS process and have not seen a nail tech use the white powder after the nails are done, as the nail tech did here. read more

Came here to get a mani pedi for my birthday. I was so upset at how I was treated here it ruined my day. The male nail technician told me I was picky after doing a horrible job on my nails. The acrylic was running all over my fingers and hardened over my cuticles. I spent and hour on my own picking it off my fingers and he saw nothing wrong with it while I was in the salon. He also kept cutting into my skin and when I would tell him he responds with "no I'm cutting the acrylic." RULE OF THUMB: if the customer feels their fingers are being cut into - it is not acrylic you are cutting!!! On top of all this he called ME picky when I politely asked him to fix it. He then quickly huffed and said pay me today and come back to see someone else tomorrow. I said I'll only pay for the services rendered but he still continued to charge my card for everything since he had already slapped the acrylic on my fingers. Not to mention this man had very unkept, dirty, sticky hands. I assumed it from all the nail products he was handling but it would have made me feel much more comfortable if he had just washed his hands. I've never gone to a nail technician that has such unkept hands. Regardless I didn't not mention his bad hygiene (I wish I did after how I was treated). I came home and I spend an hour picking the acrylic off of my skin around my nails and there is still residue there. The Acrylic goes all the way over my cuticle and I tried to explain this to him and he called me picky again and and if I want to go ahead and put polish on now. Of course, I said no! Why would I want polish all the way on my fingers. I've been getting my nails done on a regular for over 10 years. This is by far the worst salon experience I have had. I really wanted to like this place since it's close by. **I should have listen to my gut and left when another customer came up to him and showed him her nail saying "this is what I meant." Regardless, I ended up going back to get them fixed since I was already charged and couldn't deal with the horrible job he had done. I got another technician and she did the best she could to fix his mess and I'm grateful for that. Be warned, the tech I initially sat with was Tony- if you decide to go here be sure you are with someone worth ur money and time. read more
