I am not usually picky but I asked for ombre and it's nowhere near what it is supposed to look like. Its extremely uneven color wise. Also there are gaps where the powder did not catch onto my nail all the way. Aside from that, my nail tech was pretty rude, which is why I felt like I couldn't ask her to fix it. She rolled her eyes and got frustrated easily. She seemed very impatient. When I sat to have my toes painted, the nail tech made an extremely rude gesture as if my feet smelled horrible and her and another nail tech started laughing. It was extremely unprofessional and rude. I am a very easy going person but this made me so uncomfortable. My toenails are also painted extremely badly. Overall, a bad experience. read more

This place is a great, cheap place to get your nails done quickly. It is not as fancy as some places but they still do a wonderful job.

I've had two very lackluster manicures here. The first was a gel one, which was pricey (I thought) given the overall ambience of the place, but willing to pay it if it was a good one. It wasn't. Really thick in places, uneven cuticles that were full on SHARP once it started to grow out. Thinking my issue was just that I don't like gel manicures, I went back to have them take the gel off and give me a regular manicure. Also very uneven, and the UV light wasn't working so they had me use a fan...so now I've got bubbles. And a red streak where the top coat had been used on someone else, and also a smudge where the receptionist whacked me with the check in board while I was paying. By that point I was so ready to leave I didn't care. I didn't think it was the worst, but for what basically amounts to cheap-o nail experience, it costs too much and my nails were meh both times. After going to this Salon for years, I will sadly never go back. I got a regular pedicure with white polish. It was so streaky they had to redo three times and it still looked bad. I know white polish can be hard to do which is why I went to professionals. They stopped speaking English and were obviously complaining to each other. Someone who seemed like a manager came by and showed the manicurist how to apply white properly. The lady working on me still didn't "get it", and the person who showed her how to do it properly never checked back. I ended up having to leave with the bad pedicure because I had been there for nearly two hours. They scowled at me during checkout. Very unprofessional and I am sad to write this review. read more

Hannah Lee did my Mani/Pedi and she was awesome! I let her know about my various preferences and she listened and executed them perfectly. AND the mani/ pedi was only $35. Very clean and relaxing atmosphere. Ann did my pedi and solar nails. Prices are comparable to other places in the area if not better! Massage chairs are awesome, extremely comfortable. Paint left on my skin around my nails, paint is not to my cuticles and the shellac is very uneven.Thicker at the tip of my fingernail. There are also divots in the paint on a few nails. When I mentioned the paint on my skin, all she did was repaint my nails again. I explained to her I had an important meeting and this would not work; she offered for me to come back the next day for her to change color? It's not the color! I will never go back here. read more

I went for a dip manicure with tips , I've been here before and never got charged extra for removing the polish . She charged me extra today and didn't listen to what I wanted , she was aggressive with my hands saying I needed to relax and sped through my manicure , I won't be coming back. I've had many mani pedi's here, and they have all been great. Sometimes there is a wee language barrier, but not so much to cause misunderstanding. The techs do a great job and my pedi's last a long time. My only nit pick is that there is a tv blaring on inane shows, soap operas, TV court shows, celeb news shows. Once I complained and they cheerfully muted it (I was the only client at the time.) I'd prefer music to television but maybe I'm atypical. Nail Star provides dependable nail services at a competitive price. If you live nearby you are sure to bump into your neighbors eventually because a lot of folks from our 'hood frequent the place. I dropped in for a mani/pedi and was immediately greeted. The salon appeared clean, but oddly not busy. My nail tech showed me to my chair & started my pedicure and manicure. She did an excellent job, was friendly & quick. The price was right, BUT the chair was horrible. You could not change the massage settings and when turned it off you were poked in the back. It made for a very unpleasant experience. I neede a back massage when I left. I would think twice before coming back. read more

Recently moved to the neighborhood and decided to try out a new nail salon. Looks like there are three in Casa Linda, so I randomly chose this one. The high note for this place is the prices. For $49 I got a manicure, pedicure and eyebrow/lip wax. But the low point is the decor....eek! The fluorescent lights are harsh on the eyes, the walls are bland, there's some strange tile going on and tacky plastic plants. It could definitely be cleaner, too. Wasn't outright disgusting, but the chairs had some staining and residue from previous customers. I also kept smelling rotten eggs or something...?? My nail tech was very nice, though. She did a pretty good job overall. I did enjoy the face/scalp massage that came with my wax and the hot stones for the pedicure. Make sure to bring your own nail polish though if you like options. Didn't have a very good selection in my opinion. I may or may not go back... I probably won't if I want to be "pampered" and have all three services done again, but seems like an OK place for a quick manicure or a wax touch-up. read more

Awful experience. I went to get a dip manicure and a regular pedicure. The "technician" that did my dip manicure seemed to be doing one for the very first time. She did nothing to keep the area clean during the removal of my previous dip manicure - powder and shavings covered my work attire and even got in my hair! She had no idea what she was doing - I almost asked her to stop. The young woman that did my pedicure spent the first 15 minutes on her phone talking to a friend, paying no attention to me or what she was doing. The remainder of the pedicure was fine; however, I continued to question the sanitation of the tools she was using. I would not recommend this salon to anyone who is looking for quality products and/or service. read more

This place was awful. My mother and I were told we would be seen immediately but instead had to wait for over an hour. The decor is outdated and their chair is not the best. But to be honest this would not be a factor for me as long as the staff was professional and polite. The nail technicians were literally pointing with their heads at my elderly mother and laughing. Their job alone was mediocre at best. I will never step a foot into this salon again and I strongly recommend that you don't try it. read more

Came here for a last minute pedi 30 minutes before they closed. I really appreciate that my nail tech isn't rushing a thing. The leg and foot massage I received was long (no stupid timer) and really good. Once again, she took her time, despite it being 30 minutes past closing time. Very rude and did not do a good job on my nails . I asked for a specific thing and instead of doing what I wanted they did something different. When I stated this is not what I wanted they said they did it the way it's done , instead of saying they couldn't do want I wanted .
