    Mr. T just took over ownership of this place and it is now called Lux nail and spa! He's the best around and the quality and his designs of nails are truly amazing every time! I've followed Mr.T through 2 salons and now that he's opened his own it makes me feel welcome and so proud to say he's my nail guy!

    Dip nails by Mr. T! He's recently taken over the business and is making great progress. We've followed him and have utilized his services for nearly 6 years, I would suggest him to anyone. He does amazing work, listens and makes connections. Our nails always look wonderful (my 12 year old and myself). They're quality nails that last and we're not easy on our nails! Mr. T can create anything you ask him to and the whole staff is very friendly and welcoming.

    Quite possibly one of the worst hacks of a nail job I've ever received. I don't know who fixed my nails this time, but she sure didn't show me the time of day. She was quite distracted the entire time, wasted away my time looking for a phone number on her( do that on your own time) & left me with a piece of shit nail job (Photos will be enclosed). Poor tact and inconsiderate attitude made me think she's never actually dealt with a customer in her life. 1 star review. Normally I get better service here. Very disappointed. Seriously pissed off.

    I went in to get a simple full set. Which I'm pretty sure they are not supposed to be open anyways. I don't remember the lady's name but she completely botched my nails and after I expressed to her what was wrong she tried to blame it on the polish. She then took the polish off and sat me with someone else to fix them. Still could not accommodate or fix what was wrong. I go to pay telling them I should not have to pay for a service I'm displeased with after expressing my concerns. Then the lady who originally did my nails starts arguing with me. I am not happy with what happened today. I would not recommend this salon to anyone.

    Broken skin

    Made an appt for dip manicure and regular pedicure -- the dip she broke my skin in multiple places, then they made me wait 20 min between the manicure and pedicure because another customer walked in and the woman doing my nails immediately ditched me

    Did not leave very happy. I've been to a lot of nail salons in the Kansas City area and went to this one today as it was the only one open and that could get me in when I called, now I can see why. Left the salon with polish all over my hands that wasn't cared to clean off. My nails were very long before as I have spent time caring for them to get the length I had. I was asked if I wanted them cut shorter and I stated "a little bit", and then my entire nail was cut to the skin as you can see in the photos. The drimmel was also slipped multiple times so it's a miracle my skin wasn't bleeding. The light pink color is extremely see through and spent over an hour in the salon. $40 does not seem worth it for what I got. They seemed nice, but I'm left with see through nails and 1/4 of the nail length I walked in with. Was not asked what nail shape I wanted (was just assumed, and after color application was not asked if I was okay with the color). Seems like they give good pedicures by watching the others in the salon getting one, but I'd go somewhere else for a manicure.

    Nu did a great job on my nails. And they are a challenge. The shop is amazingly inexpensive for the quality of services offered! My first time there and Nu was so personable and friendly. And very gentle with my frail nails. I was happy with the results, customer service, and price.

    This is the best nail polish experience I have ever had. Why haven't I come here sooner! I will be back. Leann is great!

    I went to this place because it was closed to were I live and I didn't feel like driving up north to where I usually go. Big mistake! I asked for a black French tip with the dip polish. I have gotten many different French dips at my other salon so thought this wouldn't be a problem. Well it was... First she only put one coat of the French tip so they are a bit see through. My other salon they do at least 2 maybe 3 to make sure your natural nail doesn't show through. Then the tips are are not consistent at all. Some are thick some are thin! Does not look professional what so ever! And finally the black bleeds on to the bed of the nail where it's supposed to be clear/pink. I will never be goin here again unfortunately. They kept making excuses because the black is hard to work with but at my nail salon I've been too it's never been a problem! They refunded my money only when I had asked several times to give me at least half of my money back. Please save your money and go somewhere else that's worth it!!

    Went there yesterday for a mani/pedi, lady didt do a very good job on my hands, starting chipping with in several hours and was very high pressure to buy gels...very unhappy!

I truly do reserve this type of review for times when it's absolutely necessary, as I like to believe everyone is usually doing their best. But my most recent experience at facial bar was my last, and I knew it before I even walked out the door. Quick history: have been going to Facial Bar for a variety of services since 2021/2022ish. It's so great to have a more accessible option for facial services. I have had excellent brow and lash services over the years as well, in addition to regular facials, that have up until recently been great - no complaints. My initial service provider was done by a manager who left for reasons unknown to me, and I switched to someone new. I don't find it necessary to include the person's name, as I think my issues are likely based on adjustments to the business model. I have seen this new person a total of 3 times. Over the first 2 times I saw her, she sold me 6 different products - 6! She spoke intelligently, asked good questions, but I leaned in and give it a shot. Leading up to my 2nd appt, the 3 products I had incorporated had drastically impacted my skin (in a bad way). At my 2nd appt, she told me it was just purging and to give it 90 days, to which I agreed. I also purchased 3 more products from her that day. Within a week or so of that second appt with her, my skin was more acne ridden and inflamed than ever in my life - including my hormonal teenage years. I felt at that time, it was no longer purging - I had destroyed my skin barrier and started scarring by simultaneously incorporating (with her guidance) 6 different products over 60 days. At this point, I switched back to my previous unfragranced, basic routine and my skin immediately settled down. At my 3rd appt, I shared this with her - her response was to pick out 2 of the products I had JUST told her I switched back to (with immediate relief) and told me I shouldn't be using them. I was shocked and confused by that, this first time I had given clear feedback to a provider and felt completely dismissed - strike 1. Over the course of an hour, she continued to talk about MORE facial bar products to incorporate and made guesses as to what was causing my extreme sensitivity and discomfort. I told her firmly that I am okay with reincorporating their products slowly, one at a time - to which she also ignored, by the end of the appt she had advised that I add every single one of the 6 products back in at the same time - this was laughable, it made me feel crazy - like did she listen to anything I just said? She, at the very least as an aesthetician, should be able to recognize the issue and recommend a different, slower approach to incorporating the salon's products - but was more focused on pushing the product - strike 2. As I was checking out, she doubled down on reincorporating the 6 products she had already sold me and then tried to SELL ME TWO MORE. Strike 3. A note for facial bar - As service providers, please do better. Customers come to you as experts for help and guidance. Please care more about your clients than your sales. And if you care about your sales, do better for your clients. I showed her very clear signs and communication throughout that appt, but her directive or desire to continue selling me products that my skin clearly did not agree with was more important to her, and has cost Facial Bar a client. If you'd like your brows or lashes done, give them a visit. But if you'd like honest, clear, collaborative guidance on skin issues, keep looking. I'm genuinely sad to part ways with Facial Bar after so long, but will continue to share this story if it means I can help someone put their hard earned money and time elsewhere to work through any ongoing skin issues, or even just regular maintenance. No one likes feeling dismissed.

My mom and grandma got normal polish and I got gel polish.. which I was told was supposed to last at least two weeks.. today only 5 days later a few of my fingernail polish's have completely peeled off and the rest are starting to fall off also. (Mind you I'm a stay at home mom.. it's not like I have a tough job) Waste of money and it was supposed to be a fun day out but we had to deal with attitude (only from the guy doing the manicures) just for nails that could have been a lot better. Disappointed.
