There were a lot of people waiting, and they still kept on taking walk-ins, even though I had an appointment and had to wait still. This place is fantastic! A buddy came to town to visit this weekend and we were looking for something to do between enjoying lunch with Sweet Husband and his late afternoon flight. Yelp to the rescue, we decided to check out Nail Times for the mani-pedi $30 special. It was THE right call! Buddy is a musician in a big name Vegas show and was a little hesitant about having his hands worked on in an unknown place. It took us all of thirty seconds in the chair to realize this place was more than legit, it was special! He was also not the only dude in the shop. We were in and out in a gentle, calming hour and ten minutes, including the time for my nails to dry. The ladies were all fantastic and professional. The salon is comfortable and attractive with about twelve chairs for pedi's, additional tables for mani's that require a fill, and a drying table with blue lights. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. I came for a routine eyebrow wax touch up... you don't need a pro to do this, or so I thought! A few minutes into the wax I could feel the lady wiping something out of my hair. Of great...wax. But honestly not the end of the world, I would have figured out a way to get it out (which I did when I found wax in my hairline when I got home). Next thing I know, SNIP! I didn't really panic because I figured if she cut my hair, it was somewhere it wouldn't really matter to lose some hair. I pay, get in the car, and then I notice an inch tall chunk of hair sticking straight up ON THE TOP OF MY HEAD. I immediately went back in and was treated like I was an idiot. I showed the chunk of hair sticking straight up and while I'm trying to fight back tears, the man at the front said to me "well at least you're pretty..." The lady (waxer) who cut my hair acted like it was no big deal what so ever. She actually tried to change her story and say she told me she was cutting it. After going back and forth and trying to prove a point of how upset I was, the man finally said "well what do you want me to do about it!" in the most condescending tone ever. Not fully knowing the solution, I asked for my money back, and the reaction of the man and the lady who waxed me was like I asked for a million dollars. I stopped by on a Friday afternoon, close to 5:00 PM. Beautiful weather, so they were extremely busy. I did not have an appointment. I was told 15 minutes which was completely acceptable, only waited 5. Everything was clean and sterile. I had a basic mani and pedi. The manicure was alright... This place has been my favorite for over a decade! The owners are a husband and wife and they truly care about providing great service. I have my favorite tech (Diane!) but literally everyone there does amazing work. $20 full sets and $25 spa pedicures with hot rock massage...you seriously can't beat it. They do tend to get busy on the weekends and after work so I always try to get there when they open on Saturday (9am). The longest I've ever waited was only 30 minutes but I think I just get lucky when I go. If you're not happy with how your nails turn out they will offer to correct or redo them...seriously the best service ever. They just increased prices (only by $2-5 per service) for the first time in the 13 years I've been going and they're still a better value than anywhere else in the area. At the end of my business with them I was consistently going to get my eyebrows done by Mimi who would always take good care of me, but every time I walked through the door the other staff would ignore me because they knew I wanted Mimi and not them. You can't beat $30 mani and pedi with hot stone massage! They remodeled the interior and have a flat screen TV. All the technicians are very friendly although they tend to chatter amongst themselves a lot in Vietnamese. They also do great Solar nails for only $35 a full set. You don't need an appointment if you are not requesting a specific person. They usually have at least 10 people working at all times. If you are in a hurry tell them, and they will have one person working on your feet and another on your nails to get you out the door quicker. I will continue coming to this location even when I move across town. It's worth the drive. read more

I have tried other salons all over DFW, but always come back to Nail Times. For $30 you get a spa manicure and pedicure. Did I mention a massage too?!? Yes, it's fabulous! I never make an appointment and usually get in within 15 mins. if they are on a wait. They do get really busy, but I feel they manage their team and clients efficiently to get everyone in and out in a timely manner. They also offer waxing services, which I believe require an appointment or at least a head's up when you first get there because I believe they only have one person licensed to wax at the salon. The only reason to choose this place is if it is near to where you are located and you are in a hurry. The people who work here are the RUDEST I have ever encountered in my life. At first I thought maybe it was because I was new to the area, but I have now come to the conclusion this is not the case. The manager is the worst and acts like a queen bee sitting court, often making fun of the customers during their services. They are fast (but that is not always good) and fairly cheap at 35 for a pedi/fill, but the attitude makes me cringe whenever I go in. I went in for a manicure and the whole time the women doing my nails was yelling across the room and having conversations in another language. All the technicians were doing it. I had my nails done (powder) on President's Day. I waited an hour for a mani/pedi, which took an additional two hours. The young woman who did the pedicure did a fine job, but an older woman who wore glasses did my fingernails. She did not do a good job. I had bruises on three fingers where she squeezed my knuckles tightly while overdoing it with the electric tool to remove cuticle. Three other nails became red on the tips under the nails, and I had to use Neosporin on them to heal them. I had gone there twice before without any problems, but I won't go back now. As others have said before, you can't top the $30 price for a mani/pedi combo complete with a hot stone rub and neck massage. There are always plenty of ladies working, which means the longest you'll wait is about 10 minutes (normally there is no wait or under 5 minutes). Every one of the technicians is very nice and does a good job. I always have someone do my nails and feet at the same time and make it in and out in an hour. The only slight complaint is the lack of available nail colors to choose from, but that's not enough to knock off an entire star. The selection is good enough. I won't go anywhere else. read more

It was my first time here, and I had a wonderful experience! It was pretty crowded when I walked in (it was a Monday btw) but I got seated quickly since I made an appointment. I got the mani/pedi combo, which came accompanied with a foot/leg massage, foot scrub, neck/shoulder massage, hot stone rub, hot towel wrap, and hand/arm massage. ALL of that for $30! I went here on a Tuesday night for a pedi/fill. I will never go back. My nails look fine and it was cheap, but it was not a relaxing experience at all. The staff was extremely rude and made me feel like I was bothering them. The workers talked amongst themselves only (in another language), and it was obvious they were remarking and laughing about customers. As my dad always said..."You get what you pay for." This place may be a little less expensive, $55 for pedi and shellac french mani, but it was mediocre all around. Decor, service, polish selection, quality-- all mediocre. They had 3 different girls work on me for a shellac mani and a bare bones pedi. I don't think the mani-pedi deal is worth it, because it is sub par. My shellac looks sloppy, and she tore up my nails trying to get the old stuff off. She also cut my cuticle and made me bleed. No drinks offered, 10 minute massage (plus another minute each foot with the hot stone). I didn't leave feeling relaxed, my heels are still rough, and my shellac mani doesn't look nearly as good as it should. Not going back! I'd rather spend a few more dollars and get the luxurious treatment a mani pedi should be. So for now.. Onyx in Uptown is still my favorite, and their complimentary full bar makes the price a little easier to swallow. Ugh, and I just looked at my toes and both big toes are completely smudged! have been going here for nearly a decade and since the management has changed i've decided im literally never going back. the nails in general are okay quality, their pedicures are spectacular, but the manager was so creepy towards me. he kept telling me in front of my mom that i was so sexy and that i'd be a hot bartender, mind you im like 19 and this man is well into his 50's. he kept showing me pictures of his wife and trying to get me to say she was hot, he also asked me repeatedly about my sexual orientation and when i told him i identified as bisexual he made it really gross and started joking about having me as "one of his girlfriends" and that i'd "like his wife a lot". on top of my acrylics breaking every other day im feeling really uncomfortable here, i wish i could give zero stars. i hope they change management because the nail techs there are wonderful, the manager is the one of the only problems with this place. would never recommend this nail salon to anyone who's remotely pretty or young, it will be a weird experience for you. :( read more

Again, talked with the manager. She got angry when I asked why their license wasn't posted as required by the state. They got angry. I didn't go back for quite a while. This is my favorite nail salon in Dallas! I have been coming here since 2008 and am always happy. Prices are great, come on a week day and it's even lower. Work is consistent, I always walk in and have whoever is available and they all do good consistent work. It's no fuss, no complicated menus and varying prices, just the basics. She is a genius at making them look next to real. For a pedi, no one does it better than Nancy. But I've taken pot luck a zillion times and they are all good and more important very consistant in their style. If I had one "complaint" it would be that the people chatter away in Vietnamese all the time, but there isn't a nail pace on this planet not guilty of that. I have been coming here for years, prior to a couple year hiatus. I decided this past weekend to treat myself to a gel manicure. I had never done this particular manicure so was excited to try it out. Unfortunately, the tech I love was not there and the few others I recognized were with other customers. What the tech did was an acrylic with gel topcoat-not what I requested, not a true gel manicure. Overall, it turned out ok, although four days later its already showing wear. This is usually my go to salon since it's right in my neighborhood. I booked a 4 pm appointment for a gel manicure and a French pedicure. I arrived at about 3:55 pm and was told by the guy (I'm assuming the owner) to pick out my color. It took me about 10 minutes to finally decide on my color and let him know I was done. I showed him the color and he told me to have a seat in the waiting area. I waited about 20 minutes which slightly annoyed me since I made my appointment at 4, but I figured they were running behind or were short staffed that day. I was finally led to my pedicure chair. I received my French pedicure which looks great, and also received a hot stone massage as well which felt AMAZING. My manicure was also great, and my nails were cleaned, shaped and polished. I also received a nice arm and shoulder massage as well. In total, my service was $60 including tip. While my nails always look decent leaving this salon, the only thing I could say this salon could improve on is being a little more friendly to customers. Seems like the employees either don't want to be there, or just aren't into their jobs. Other than that, my nails look great! read more

After going here for years, I am finally done and won't be back. I had many bad encounters here with unqualified technicians but finally found Diane who does a good job. I always schedule my appointments so I know I will have Diane. 2 times ago, she arrived 30 minutes after the appointment time. No reason, just showed up late and I was sitting there wasting 30 minutes. The last time, I arrived (it's a 20 minutes drive from my house) and I was told Diane wouldn't be in today. No one called to reschedule or tell me. As much as I have liked Diane, she is not reliable. And for the rest of the staff, while they are all very nice, most are not qualified and do a less then adequate job. read more
