I came here earlier in the year for a gel pedicure with an added service of simple nail art. I made the appointment online and the tech asked me to send pictures of what I wanted in terms of nail art a day or two before. I did so and did not hear back from the tech. I got to the appointment on time but there was only one nail tech there with another customer. I waited a half hour for the service to start and when she started, she told me she wasn't good at nail art and that she'd "try" it. Um, what? Why didn't she tell me that when contacting me? The pedicure itself was ok and she charged me less than the usual for the nail art but I waiting long after my appointment time and finding out that she wasn't going to be able to do the nail art I asked for at the studio instead of before was really disappointing . read more

I came to Nailbox for Gel x extension nails. After my nail tech explained to me the process as well as it being better for my nails in general, I was on board. Nail box studio is tucked away but truly is a hidden gem. The esthetic is chic and and hip and the nail techs are all beyond nice. I had such an amazing experience at nail box that I came back twice! I was so happy with my nails! She did an amazing job both times and I cannot wait to come back! This will definitely be my go to for my nails and I highly recommend everyone to come here. Very honored to have been their first customer after their grand opening! And luckily for me, I had the whole place to myself. When I got there, I got kind of confused as to where to enter because their salon is located at the second floor of a building. I called and the lady who picked up, who I might add, was very nice and helpful, told me to enter the door to the right of Inkies (the popular tattoo spot). The door still had a for lease sign which was why I wasn't sure when I arrived. Before I got off the phone with her, she told me to have fun and enjoy! When you enter, you go up the stairs and make 2 lefts around the corner and you're there! The salon isn't big but it was set up nicely with 3 pedicure stations and 2 mani stations. This place looked like a picture straight out of Pinterest! It was beautiful! When I went in, I was greeted right away by Norma who was the technician I scheduled with. She got me set up right away. Although their pedi chairs aren't massage chairs, they recline all the way and are super comfy. Norma did a great job pampering me and she did a great job with my toes and nails! She is super gentle too. This is probably silly to say, but she isn't Asian and she speaks English fluently, so chatting with her during my appointment was great! She is very friendly! Thanks so much Norma for doing an amazing job! For now, they are appointments only and making an appointment is EASY and CONVENIENT. You can call them, or download their mobile app!! The app has all of their services listed with: prices, description of each service, approximate time, and the nail technician. HOW GREAT IS THAT??? So when you pick which service you want, you go to book an appointment and it will list EVERY SINGLE MONTH throughout the whole year, you pick a day and then it'll list all the times they have available for that day. AMAZING. I love this because I've never booked an appt through a mobile site before, very modern I must say. Also makes it easier instead of getting an Asian lady who isn't very good at English trying to communicate with her over the phone and then she ends up messing up your appointment time. We've been coming here for six years and they never disappoint! Whether you're getting gel or regular, your fingers and toes will look great and they'll thank you! We definitely missed coming during the pandemic shut down, but once they opened back up, we're so appreciative of the measures they take to make us feel safe. I treated myself and my mom for a pedicure for Mother's Day and we both loved it. We were welcomed by our technicians, Christine and Anna, who made us feel right at home. The nail polish selection was quite average, yet not too overwhelming. The place was beautifully decorated, quiet, and relaxing with only my mom and I being the only customers. It felt like we had the entire place to ourselves! I believe the pedicure was well worth the price. We received a warm neck wrap, warm towels, and a light massage. I appreciated that there was a TV available for use, essential oil diffuser between each chairs, and candy on the side tables. Tip: Parking was difficult to find due to the Farmer's Market, so I suggest scheduling appointments after 2PM on Sundays to assure parking. I followed Norma to Nailbox from another salon. She's been doing my gel manicures and pedicures for the last couple of years, and I wouldn't go anywhere else. When the last salon closed, my nails were dying for a month waiting for Norma to land her next gig, and I'm so excited she's now at Nailbox! Norma is quite possibly the sweetest person I've ever met. She does a meticulous job (there is NEVER paint on my skin and the paint lines are always straight) on both gel and regular manicures. She's also willing to go the extra mile if you'd like something unique. I've gotten glitter, stamps, and jewel embellishments, so fun! We always enjoy coming up with new color combos, as I like to do different designs on my ring fingers. The studio itself is large and bright, with plenty of natural sunlight during the day time. I went here for the second time yesterday and my experience was great. The ladies that work here are so friendly. Their facility is clean, and a little unique for a nail place since it's upstairs in an office building. They also lay you back in a recliner chair as they do your pedicure...which lead to me falling asleep during the massage portion, but I needed the Z's. The first time i came here they gave me a really cute free design on my nails using a stamp. The process was interesting to watch. Just as a warning, they use regular bowls that they fill up with water to soak your feet in. There is not bubbles or vibration and the chairs don't give you a massage, but if you can live with that, they do a great job. read more

My nail technician was Sophia. I had an appointment at 5:15pm and told them I was running late. Once I arrived, I was very apologetic and told Sophia that I appreciate her waiting for me. However, she had a bad attitude already. I had the signature mani and pedi done. She rushed the manicure, but took her time on the pedicure. The service was mediocre, but customer service was lacking. When I paid and left, she slammed the door after me which was very rude. I've been to many nail salons in Fremont/Newark and this by far has the worst customer service and unprofessional. read more

I love Nailbox! I really wish they did acryllics. My natural nails are flimsier than a house made of cards and need to be fortified with acryllic for sustainability. FYI: They only do gel manicues here, so if your natural nails are weak AF like mine, you have to go elsewhere for acryllics. read more

Their website was easy to navigate and very informative as far as options on the many different services they provide as well as learning about the many different technicians. I easily made a same day appointment, which was very convenient for me as my work holiday party was the next day. The decor is really nice! Super comfy and homey. They have an abundance of color options, I was overwhelmed with all the choices!! Christine did my mani and she did an amazing job! I showed her a picture of the color I wanted and she chose a few that were close and tested them out on a few nails for me to choose. I didn't feel rushed at all in choosing a color. She offered me a beverage, which I loved! Very nice amenity to have. Christine took her time and was gentle and meticulous. She was double checking with me on the length and shape to make sure it was what I wanted. And after two coats of polish she asked if I wanted a third. I also got a glitter nail which she suggested that an undercoat of a lighter color would help the glitter to pop. She really wanted to make sure my nails came out exactly as I'd hope. And they did! Everyone wears a mask and practices social distance. Christine gave me the best leg/foot massage. She even accommodated a last minute mani request also with a great arm/hand massage.
