So let's talk about my nails I'm very particular about them so I called the shop called Danielle Bar which is literally a three minute drive from my house now I read all these reviews and they had pros and cons right so a lot of people want to talk about how shitty the inside of the store is but if that's what you're really basing your service off of you've got bigger issues so we're gonna talk about how the store wise yes it does have a security code for you to get inside which is kind of awesome because you know you're safe at the same time you walk up the stairs and you go to the nail bar now not only did I get greeted with great and friendly customer service but she knew who exactly who I was on a sidenote she did recommend some coffee shop next to my house which is delicious but that's not what we're talking about so let me come back to the topic it had a pretty pink and white ambience and decorations very intimate setting which is something I really like because I want my nail shop to be a shop where I can spend my time and I got to talk to you Sam who is phenomenal and she is the owner and we talked about stuff that was actually relevant to what's going on with us and everybody was a part of the conversation so it was almost like a gossip shot which is kind of cool because at my age I want people that are not talking about stupid shit we're talking about real life issues and I tried this new thing called gel X now I've heard of it I've never had it done I actually googled it after I got off the call with her and it seem like it was going to be more durable so I tried it and I got the pink and white which is kind of lightweight beautiful colors and I really enjoyed being there I also brought my daughter along which was very kid friendly she had a seat she was talk to you and she was part of like the nail group so overall the experience was more than I could ask for it was Covid friendly because she did ask me to wash my hands I did have my mascon the whole time that I was there everybody dead and some of the restrictions were lifted yeah we didn't soak our feet in water because water has bacteria I mean come on let's think about this stuff she didn't check my temperature because that was lifted we did have you know a piece of paper to sign that was sent to you via text message for you to check like have you had any of the Covid symptoms so yeah for people to sit there and say that there are not Covid friendly that's a lot of shit because I sure did get asked these questions So I would write this a 10 out of 10 if you're looking for an intimate nail shop people who are actually going to talk to you and make you feel like you're welcomed and people who are going to ask you do you really like your nails and wanna make sure that you walk out of there satisfied know if we're gonna talk about pricing pricing was reasonable for all the work that they're doing I did walk in there with no nails so she did have to start from scratch and I enjoyed every penny of my service read more

After looking for a new place near my house on the Mindbody app, I stumbled upon this business. There were ample openings for the week/day that I was looking for, so I was able to quickly book. I didn't go through Yelp as others have previously mentioned, so my appointment booking was easier to do. Parking is a little confusing (some lots right behind the building are reserved for buildings next door), so I parked across the street, but still only took me less than a minute or so to go from car to business. The business itself is a quaint room that's part of a multi-business house. It is well maintained and classy. There are only three manicure stations and three pedicure stations, which makes it more intimate when going there. If you're doing both a mani and pedi, you'll most likely have the same person work on you (that's what happened for me and another person who was there). The customer service was pretty decent for me. I did notice that other clients were asked if they wanted water or had a heating pad for their neck, which I was not asked about. What I liked best was that I wasn't pressured into using cash, which a lot of other places do. Price wise, this was a GREAT deal! I did the May Day special for mani and pedi, which included a gel mani and regular pedi. With tip, I paid about $60something. I have been coming to Nailbox from the moment they opened their doors for the first time. Christine has been my nail technician and all I can say is that I would never go anywhere else. Christine is sweet, personable and always makes sure I'm happy with the service. Recently new ownership has taken over and the salon has definitely changed for the better. Sam is responsive, accommodating and most importantly always greets me as soon as I walk in the door. She has definitely turned the salon around in a positive way. My favorite nail salon! Always have great service here. It is a little more expensive than other places, but the extra perks like tea and warm neck pillow make the difference. They are by appointment only and take their time with each client, I never feel rushed. They also guarantee your gel mani for 5 days, so when my nail has accidentally chipped they happily fix it for free without question. My nails usually last 2-3 weeks without much wear. They are very clean, use plastic bags on the foot tubs and clean their instruments properly, which is hugely important to me. They offer nail stamping which is awesome, and Sophia the nail tech can do really beautiful hand painted designs. Christine, Sophia, and Michelle are always nice and accommodating. Horrible service. I called for an appointment stating on the phone I wanted a design then letting them know again the moment I walked into the salon showing them a picture. They said it was fine and I sat down and waited. The nail tech did old me she would be right with me. If I could do zero reviews I would have to. I have been at the salon from 12:30-2:30. The nail tech and manager were arguing back and forth via speaker complaining that me wanting a very simple design. The manager then wanted to talk to me via FaceTime and state that my nails are painted. Only the pinky is painted. I had to leave with only one pinky done because they refused to paint the rest of my nails unless I waited another hour. The manager then threatens me saying she can see me on the camera that I am lying about my nails being done. They are clearly not done. They did not use any new tools from a clean package. I am SUPER upset. I am so upset that I literally walked into my house and sat down at the computer to document my experience at Nailbox today. If you know me, then you know that I always have awesome nails. To be fair to the nail technician, I do not think she is very experienced, and that she tried her best to do what she could with what she was given. But to sum it up, I did not get a manicure that I wanted AT ALL, it was extremely costly, and would have literally cost me $20-35 plus tip at a different local salon, but was charged $47 plus tip. I wanted a manicure today and messaged the salon through Yelp and was told to call for an appointment at 4:30. When I called, they informed me that I could come in a little earlier at 4:15, which I preferred. I was also informed that since I was a first time customer, I would get 2 free nail stamps. The lady on the phone let me know that the signature gel manicure was $33 and that they charged $7 to remove nail polish that was not from their salon, which is not a standard fee at all. I have visited many salons and the removal fee is always embedded in the price of the manicure. When I got there, the nail technician was immediately upset to learn that I had hard gel on my nails and kept on complaining it was going to take an hour to remove. So she asked me to pick the colors after the gel was off. Yes, it did take her an hour to remove the hard gel and she kept on burning my fingers with the dremel tool until I told her to stop running it over the same spot for so long. I understand that it can take longer to remove that gel, but I've never had anyone take an hour to remove the polish before. I asked her a few questions about the nail designs that I wanted, but she didn't seem to understand me and dug up a bunch of stamp plates for me to look at. I can be picky with designs, but when I have a nail tech that can't do them, I usually just pick some different colors and I figured I'd do that this time along with the nail stamping, so no biggie, I let it slide. She asked me what nail shape I wanted, and I showed her a picture, so she cut my nails to fit that shape. She filed a couple of the nails before telling me that they would break and that I should change the shape. So I told her to make them almond or oval if it would make things easier. She seemed to not understand because she clipped the tip and rounded it so it was this weird rounded flat shape? I asked her a few more times and gave up on getting the perfect shape since she was filing my nails really short and I was hoping to keep them long. On my right hand, she did a better job and I let her know that one of the nails was perfectly shaped, so she went back and tried to balance them out since they were different shapes and lengths at this time.She spent some time trying to even out both hands, however I could tell she was rushing since an hour had passed and she was saying "See, I told you it would take an hour." In her rush filing down my nails, she made the sides of two of my fingers bleed, which kept on getting aggravated with acetone throughout the rest of the manicure. I was okay with everything so far, but when it came time to actually paint my nails, she became upset because I wanted to do 3 colors and she said she only had time to do one color since they closed at 6. Once my nails were painted, she was pretty mad because she said she didn't know how to stamp and that the other nail tech promised to stay and do the stamping for me, but she had left. I told her that she could try it out and I guided her on how to line up the stamp and roll the design onto the nail instead of flat pressing it. The design on my right nail is cut off a bit weird, but I was okay with it since the stamp is clean. The design on my left nail is pretty smudged, but she had tried four times and was getting frustrated again, so I let it slide since she seemed stressed out. I asked her if it was normal for my nails to be sticky, and she said to wait because there was one last step and she wanted me to pay first before she wiped the top of my nails with acetone to remove the residue (ouch bleeding fingers!) She informed me that since I had hard gel on, it was $14 to remove it. A heads up would have been nice from the get go because I would have actually cancelled the appointment. I understand that it's the day before Christmas eve and that she wanted to get out of there ASAP. However, I really don't think this manicure is anywhere close to being worth $54 (with tip). I have nails of different shapes and sizes, open wounds on the sides of two fingers, gel in one of the wounds, random nail polish on my hands and random residue under my nails. Most importantly, I got a manicure that was nowhere near what I wanted when I came in. So what exactly did I pay so much for? I had such a terrible experience here. I do not intend on coming back here and I would not recommend this salon to anyone else. read more

Finally got a chance to return to Nailbox (after much too long away) at their new location. Their new space is nice and spacious. (Tip: It's hidden behind Domino's, and a few doors down from B of A.) I booked online for my friend and I, and the process was super-easy. I booked a mani-pedi with Christine (because I know she's always great! We used to see her at Zaza as well, and then the old Nailbox location) and came out with happy fingers and happy toes. She does a beautiful job and takes great care with every step. Today I got the cutest set of nails done! The staff were very accommodating and took care of me like professionals. My nail tech always takes her time to make sure I'm satisfied with everything she's doing. I just finished reading the last review and am in complete dismay! This girl completely lied about what happened with her and her sisters services today and it makes me so upset that she would say such banter about this business. The was very calm and explained to both girls that they were going to get their refund back but they weren't having it at all she demanded a refund in the most rudest way possible raising her voice and making me and the other nail techs uncomfortable with how she was making such a scene like a true Karen honestly. My nail tech had explained to her that since her mother hair prepaid for the service she would give her a call to inform her of what would be done and that they could wait in the lobby since she was working on me at the moment and would need some time to reach her mother about the refund. This girl was not having it and was completely rude to the point of me wanted to step in and giving her a piece of my mind because there was no need for her to treat any of the employees that way. The nail tech kept her cool the whole time and when they girls walked out to the lobby she excused herself to make a call to the mother and let her know she would submit her refund as soon as possible since the girls never gave a reason as to why they were unhappy with their service. She was very calm and clear and explained the situation to the girls mother. As soon as she hung the phone up, this Client comes in like a chihuahua (yes literally barking up a storm) yelling as to why she would call her mother! Like girl are you serious? Everything was explained to her that since her mother was the one who had paid she had to let her know about the refund and as to why is being done. These girls were just not having it at all. I can't believe she came on here and says she was "dehumanized"!!?? She was treating g them with such disrespect and yelling over them the whole time. Like if there was something you didn't like about your pedicure then you speak up when it's being done not go off on the technician without an explanation and expect to have them drop everything they're doing just for you. I have never witnessed such a show of ridiculousness. She made my time at the salon eventful in all the wrong ways. I hope I never see her there again. You really get to know them and unlike other salons, they give you their undivided attention - which I really love. The nail polish colors are all lined up on the wall by the color of the rainbow. I'm new to the area and haven't found a nail salon I can trust (still haven't). At my appointment on Sunday , I had on old dip nails that needed to be removed and wanted a new dip set. My nail tech was a no show but Jen and Christine were there to help so I thought nothing of it. Jen proceeded to remove my dip polish by sliding her nail in between my natural nail and the dip and plucking them off. If you've ever had that done without first soaking them, this is pretty painful. As she forcefully kept taking them off one by one, it took my top layer of my nail with it, making my natural nail verrry weak. I told them this is painful and asked why didn't they soak it first. I commented that they chipped off most of my nail plus the length that had grown underneath. I told them I no longer wanted dip because now I thought my natural nail would be too weak and asked for a manicure instead. (Note: they didn't soak the right hand to remove the dip polish which is noticeably stronger than my left). They kept saying how I didn't need dip and my nails were beautiful and gel would last just as long as dip, 3-4 weeks. It took me a while to decide whether I would write this review so I didn't take picture right away. These are my nails after 3 days. I did tip $10 because that's just the way I am. They charged me for the removal $10. I basically paid for the damage and pain for these nails and would have loved a better experience like the other ladies who gave great reviews. Although I was neutral about the polish application techniques of my nail tech, I'm rating Nailbox Studios @ 5 stars because of great customer service, their great care in cleanliness and sterilizing their tools, updated polish collection, and honestly, the history of the building they reside in (I'm a sucker for history). It's really a great and modern nail spa. I received a pedicure in one of their gravity chairs, which I'm definitely a fan of because those massage chairs just don't do it for me, and I'm too short for their default settings. They provide a nice, warm neck wrap, hot towels are included in the standard pedicure and a light massage. For a more in-depth service, you can upgrade your pedi. Only downside is limited parking within the parking lot provided by the building (especially because it looks like they share the upstairs space with other businesses). There is street parking though. Overall a fan, and will be back. read more

I went on a Tuesday for their gel mani pedi deal. To be honest for $52 (even on a discount) is a little steep (regular price for them I believe is over $60). Huong did my nails and was great at listening to my request- though the execution I didn't notice until I had left was a bit too thick and lumpy. So I normally soak off my acrylic/dip powder at home because most salons I've been to have traumatized me with how rough they are when they remove them. You'll be surprised how many salons I've been to will forcefully pry the product off my nails or scrape them when it's clearly not ready to come off! However, I didn't have time today and decided to give Nailbox Studios a try for removal and the service was absolutely amazing! I believe it was Yen that took care of me, she was so gentle and careful with my nails to make sure she safely soaked off my previous set before going forward with the gel set I requested. I tried really hard to like this place. I went to Sophia for both of my visits, and both times were lacking. The first, she showed up 30 minutes late to the appointment, making for an awkward experience, as it was Mother's Day and I was suppose to be enjoying a pedicure with my mom. The overall quality of the nails were good, so I decided to give them another try. The second time was awful. When I walked into the appointment, Sophia was asleep in one of the pedicure chairs, and had her mouth covered with a mask. I figured maybe she was ill, which made me slightly uncomfortable. I have two small children at home, and really didn't want to carry home any germs. During the appointment, she did not speak to me until about 20 minutes in. I sat there in dead silence getting my nails done, there wasn't even any music playing. The whole appointment she seemed grumpy, and when it came time to pay, she said nothing but, "Can you tip in cash?" First time I tried Gel X extensions and I loved it! Oceana did my first 2 Gel X and loved it. Last week, I went to see Sam and she did both my Gel X and pedicure and loved it so much!! She did exactly how I want it done...the shape and length of the nails and even my cuticles are so clean. Didn't have to refile any sharp edges on my nails and remove excess gel on the sides of the nails. And she also did a good with my pedicure.
