Ugh this place is so amazing! I've been here on separate occasions. I'm not a regular customer but every time I came to get my nails done, I was never disappointed. FYI - I always came during slow hours because I have more flexibility with my school schedule. Sylvia worked on my nails today and I was so impressed with my nail/hand transformation that I had to leave a review (my nails really were that bad. I'm currently in grad school and I have anxiety and a really bad nail biting habit). I'm a simple girly - I asked for a green chrome inspiration from a Pinterest photo and she showed me the options they had that best resembled the photos. I was offered a pedicure and a massage while sitting in my chair, and even if I declined, Sylvia gave me a short back and hand massage as my gel nails were finishing up. I think I would like to come back for a massage for sure, though. I truly recommend this place in the Bronx! For the service and quality, I'll give them all my money if it means being taken care of like this! read more

I don't know what chemical the use on nails but nothing someone puts on your should hurt you or make you scream. The second to last time i went they recommended some hard gel and when i put my nail in the dryer i screamed from the pain it felt like my hands were being lit on fire. I tried again to force it then told myself what am i doing? So i told the owner it's hurting and he didn't care then i said it again and he said to the guy doing it to just take it off. the next time i went i had to wait 30 minutes to an hour just to be seen then when i was finally seen the owner put foils on my nails to remove the color then sent me to do a pedicure so he can do someone else's nails. i had foils on my fingers for over an hour. my fingers were wrinkly and itching. all because he over booked. then for the pedicure they don't even have slippers they have these literal papers for the feet and someone was mopping so i had to walk on the wet floor with paper slippers it was gross. then they mopped my foot, so disgusting. after i dried my toes then he said he's ready ok so i go to the chair. for him to be rude to me. after waiting so long he's just painting my nails carelessly so i told him if he can please fill in the gaps and he dismissed what i say and just kept doing what he was doing. i still paid for my nails and tipped because im a good person but i will never be returning. i'm over the disrespect in these bronx nail salons. we pay a lot of money to go to these places to be treated poorly and that's some bs. i'll find another place but this ain't it. read more

Up until today, I've always had good experiences at this salon. I've been here several times, though I hadn't visited in a few months. Unfortunately, my usual technician (Andy) no longer works there, so I went with whoever was available. The gentleman who did my gel pedicure was fine overall, although he did insist on a color different from what I requested. The pedicure itself came out okay, so I didn't push the issue. I was then told to wait for someone to be available for my nail set, but the wait was very long, especially considering I had made an appointment. When the nail technician started, she asked if I had a design in mind. I showed her a photo, which she took a picture of, but the final result looked nothing like the reference. My nails were extremely thick and wide. When I politely asked if they could be made thinner, she became visibly annoyed and even laughed, saying no. I asked again for them to be narrower and for the corners to be rounded, and the response was the same--frustration and irritation just for asking. After that, there was also confusion and disagreement over the color, and at that point I realized I wasn't really being heard, so I stopped trying to speak up. When I went to pay, the owner asked how everything was. I explained that I wasn't satisfied, and he immediately sat me down and genuinely tried to fix the situation, which I truly appreciated. Unfortunately, the issues couldn't really be corrected without removing everything and starting over, which wasn't going to happen. In the end, I paid $151.68 for nails I truly dislike. I understand that nail services are expensive, but when there are so many salons to choose from, I'd rather spend my money somewhere I feel listened to and leave feeling confident and happy with the service. So after my first experience I went back two more times. This was my third time and my experience definitely downgraded which is so disappointing because I really liked this place and the environment and cleanliness. Plus I told so many people about it. For the most part everyone was still pretty nice but the service wasn't the same. Peter was still pleasant. The person who did my pedicure the first time Anna, I didn't see again. The second time I went the lady kept pushing for me to get a manicure even though I told her I didn't want one. I told her the color I wanted and she kept telling me to get another color because it was already glitter and I wanted a different color with glitter on top. Then she only did half of one of my toes which I noticed after leaving (I was trying to beat a thunder storm). I also informed her I needed a nail repair because one of my nails cracked and she said it was fine. 3 days later that nail split and I had to use a nail gel to hold it until I could get back. I decided to give it another chance and went back today. They were supposed to be open at 10, I got there at 10:15 and the gate was still down. A car pulled up around 10:30 Maybe a bit sooner. I showed a picture asking if someone was able to do what I wanted and was Yes, yes, yes'ed. So I was sent to a chair and I get the same person I had last time, so I'm alert this time to make sure that things are done correctly. Also I'm giving her another chance. Things seem to start off on the right foot when I'm inside. Then the lady asks what I want. I show her which is an ombre on the big toe and the other toes a solid color. She basically clutches her pearls I wanted multiple colors. When I noticed she didn't paint one of my toes fully she sighed. Then when she wasn't doing it how I liked and I told her I wanted it darker she got upset and of course proceeded to discuss it with the others there. This is exactly why I stopped going to salons. Then it's discussed amongst each other. And I don't believe in paying for a service I'm not happy with. I wasn't rude to her but I did say I rather let her know I don't like it now rather than wait until she's done and have her do it all over again. Am I wrong for telling someone that I would like the service I am expected to pay for? Well She wasn't happy about it. Now I had other workers telling me that I should just get something different, change what I want. But I specifically asked prior to getting anything done. Also I was telling her to do EXACTLY like she was doing but I just wanted the colors to be darker. Eventually she called Peter over to have him do one toe how I was explaining to her how I wanted it which he did it the right way immediately and then she did the other. Now my specialty service was $48. A nail repair is $5. If I was being charged for a design because they considered the ombre a design that's another $5 or so, so we're at $58 let's say $60. They have a card fee of whatever percentage so an additional $3 or so. Okay so $63. I was charged $85 today. My visits prior was $58 and $50. She kept telling the guy he wasn't adding enough on when he was charging me. Lol Could I have fought it? Yes. Did I? No. At that point I just was fed up and disappointed. It seems I'm going to be on the search for a new pedi place again. ***UPDATE*** I did run into Peter and discussed with him my last two experiences there and how I was really let down. Although he first mentioned it could have been the language barrier or her not being able to do the design once he realized I was talking about the actual service inclusive of everything else he understood and said that he would make sure I had someone else when I go back. At this time I'm still not sure if I'd go back and if I do It may be after a while but I greatly appreciated his attentiveness. read more

I used to come here all the time for pedicures and never specified who I wanted to work with because im not picky and never had issues with anyone. However, I came here last month and experienced an issue with an older man who was simply not understanding what I wanted and walked out disappointed after explaining multiple times and providing photos for reference (it was just a French). I go in again today and this time a younger man takes me. The big toe on my right foot was broken on the top corner and so I ask him if he can fix it rather than cutting the nail down and he says yes. He begins filing all the nails and doing all the nail prep expected prior to corrections/polish. Then, I look down and I see that he not only filed my nail down to level it where it broke, he ROUNDED my toenail?? I of course didn't want this, but what makes no sense is why would he round ONE nail and not the other??? I tell him to straighten the nail and he continues rounding, so I take the nail filer and begin straightening myself. He then asks a lady to confirm with me what I wanted and I explain to her what happened and she says "UV GEL OK?" At this point im assuming they're going to extend the nail with UV gel, so I say "yes, that's fine". This man.. just layers it over my nail with no extension or correction. I tell him, "just file down the other toe" so that both feet are the same and when I look at my toes after they're painted, he BARELY filed the other foot. He looks at me and says "good?" I respond, "I absolutely hate it." and he stays quiet. no offer to correct, no offer to have someone else correct it, no money back. And just to top it off, my toes are filled with cuticles, dry blood, and the bottom of my feet are dry. I swear, it's like he didn't even try. I have never left a bad review for anything before, but my maintenance means a lot to me and this was far from good. read more

They told me one price for the nails then when I was done it was a completely different price, they charged for a soak off then they didn't even soak - the man used a nail tip to remove the old nails which was very painful. I've been going to Michelle and Peter's salon (the owners) when they were formerly known as PM&N nails. Michelle started doing my nails when I was a teenager -- nearly a decade later I still stick to her and her team! Peter is my technician (I'm religiously loyal to him and will never ever leave him!) and people always ask me where I do my nails. They don't believe it when I say I go to a nail salon instead of a private tech because his work is THAT PERFECT AND AMAZING. He brings all my ideas and designs to life and better. All of their techs are really amazing people and their pedicures are elite. My feet always feel refreshed and genuinely cleaned and cared for. Their pedicures last me weeks and it's always such a special treat when I go. It's my special place, where I take care of myself and share a special moment with my sister. I wish i can give them zero stars. i found them on yelp with amazing reviews so i decided to walk in. when i walked in the owner told me to come back in 30 mins. i gave him my name which is JJ ( i want him to know exactly who wrote this review) and as i was walking out two young girls came in. i came back 20 mins after and he told me "sorry it's going to be another 30 mins" and took the girls that came in after me. i saw them coming in as i was leaving my car was parked out in front. . he told me sorry again and said 30 more minutes so i said "you're making me wait over an hour after telling me 30 mins" he just kept taking other clients as im standing there waiting. fast forward two hours later.. the owner is shrugging his shoulders when asked how much longer as he's doing a new clients nails. this place is beautiful and the colors are amazing but even the clients in there with appointments were waiting 30+ minutes after their scheduled time due to the lack of communication given to them and integrity. they said they do this often and don't honor appointments so of course they are going to treat others just as bad. it's the holiday season so doing bad business around this time of year is uncalled for. people have things to do, not wait around the nail salon all day twiddling thumbs. my main reason to even writing this review due to the OWNERS lack of customer service. who as an owner shrugs their shoulders at a clients that's been waiting for two hours....... do better business. read more

I really didn't want to leave this review, but if you're a new customer -- beware. I called early in the morning to set an appointment at 2:30 for a gel manicure & pedicure. I figured I show up earlier since I had time and needed to catch a flight. They had me seated in a pedi chair before anyone was available, and the young girl who did begin my service took a really long time to even remove the gel from my toe nails -- she had the machine for removal and went over my nails 3 times and still hadn't properly removed the nail polish. 30 minutes into my service, she seemed confused as to why I wasn't satisfied. I asked for the owner and a new person to conduct my service, which was another 20 minute wait. The girl who initially started my service then moved on to complete someone else's, and moved at a much faster rate (still confused as to why she didn't service me in the same manner?). After my pedicure was done, it was around 3:45 and time for a manicure. I had UV gel and I wanted to have it removed. The owner asked me if I could return another day, because they were busy (I already had an appointment and the pedicure took way longer than anticipated -- this was a managerial issue, not a customer issue.) When I refused to reschedule for another day and instead just have the gel removed, he instead changed his tone and had me sit in his chair for gel removal and manicure. I had asked the young lady who did my pedicure to also do my manicure, and he instead said she would be servicing someone else. Let's just say, he tried to get me to complete more expensive services (gel fill instead of removal) and when I said no, it was obvious he was annoyed. He then proceeded to remove my thin layer of UV gel with a METROCARD. Painful, unsanitary, and I already knew I would never be returning here again. The cherry on top was when he shaped my already fragile nails and for some reason, left my square manicure extremely sharp, until he went to lotion my hands and instead, cut himself with my very poorly cared for nails. Oh, and the "gel" he said was an extra $5 to help ensure my nails were "strong" and wouldn't break already chipped. Moral of the story -- take your business elsewhere if you're not a regular. The owner cares more about money than he does about quality service. read more
