They were absolutely amazing. Arrived right on time and spent less than an hour completely shaving down my 40lb Goldendoodle. I wanted to do an at home service since I've tried three other places previously for just a simple nail trim and sanitary trim and was told she would freak out and not stay still - which I thought was ridiculous! Scout is super friendly (and only a puppy at 7 months) so might have tried to play a bit but whenever she's bathed or fussed with at home she stays completely still. They did a wonderful job though, and even said how great she was through the whole thing! Super friendly, Scout loved them and so did I. This is truly a 5 star review and IF I could do 6 I would. They were recommended by another service as that other service was not taking more clients. 1) responded to request for nail trim 2) on time and so quick with the nail trims for several animals dogs and cats) 3) did a great job! One cat is not so easy and yet for them- done well and in good time 4) good with all my animals 5) nice people. thoughtful of their surroundings and super efficient I have been around a lot of folks who work with animals- these folks know what they are doing and they are the kind of people that no matter what they do they will do it well. My scruffy terrier mix has never been groomed, in part because I'm into the shaggy dog look, but also because I've heard or read too many terrible tales about grooming sessions that result in stressed or injured animals (or groomers!). Since my pup's hair just keeps getting longer and more tangled, I knew it was time to groom. Nick and Kara were awesome. They didn't have any problem with me bathing my pup the day before (they can also do the bath, but I opted to DIY). They showed up at my house right on time, calmly introduced themselves to me and to my pup, and talked me through some grooming ideas. They were mellow, careful, knowledgable, thorough, and I was completely comfortable having them in my home. They worked outside on a small deck, and during the whole session my pup was calm and relaxed, which is generally not the case when I'm trying to comb through her long hair or trim her nails! Rebecca at Nails and Tails is absolutely the best. She came to my home to express the anal glands of my cat, Bandit. Rebecca has been a vet tech for a long time (a decade? maybe more?) - which means she knows an absolute ton, and has real experience with pet health. Not only was she great with my cat, she also answered a million questions I had (everything from cat health, to vets she'd recommend in the area). Both with the time she spent with my cat, the procedure and with her kindness to me, Rebecca really went above and beyond. Rebecca, I can't thank you enough for all your help!! I've never met anyone else from N&T in person, but they did respond to my emails extremely promptly - I was able to get an appointment within a few days of contacting them. This review is long overdue! I needed both my dogs nails trimmed on a short notice. And Nick the owner got back to me right away. I was lucky and one of the groomers was going to be in my area the same day. She arrived at 4pm sharp and she was awesome! Very quick and my dogs who are a bit needy did great with her! I didn't think it was a good idea, but it was a last minute decision. I was hoping to get my dogs cut fast. Started off with a cancelled appointment a day before it was scheduled. Ok, I can deal with that. No messages or confirmations for a week. I ended up texting Ns&Ts 30 minutes before my appointment to confirm myself. No response until I got "we're here". Ok, I can deal with that too ... They started cutting my dogs in the bathroom without even asking their names. There was no cover our sheet so the hair ended up everywhere: on our showermat, our toothbrushes, toilet and behind it ... They didn't bother to clean up at all, just grabbed the biggest clumps of hair and put it in the trash. Also the grooming itself was a botched job - there are spots on my dogs looking like kids playing with baby scissors. I'm only giving 2 stars for cutting my dogs nails and for getting me in last minute. read more

First experience with this mobile service today which left us saddened. Yes, having someone come to you truly is convenient. Sadly today's event made it easy to decide we'd rather be inconvenienced & take our cats to the vet to have their nails properly & safely trimmed: one of our cat's quick was nicked. It's been over 6 months since my cat was groomed by Nails and Tails and she hasn't been the same since. The day she was groomed she was brought into my bathroom and I could here her whine and struggle. She let out a big scream and found out that she was cut by the shaver. She had a big cut in her leg which I could see her bone. She is now terrified of anyone that comes into my house and is permanently traumatized. I feel horrible for letting this happen to her. I recently spoke to another groomer who said that cats never forget trauma and that they do not believe that Nails and Tails are certified groomers. So happy I chose Nails and Tails full grooming. The in home service was super convenient making it easy for me as I don't drive. Nick and Kara were professional, punctual, patient and kind with my puppy. I know she feels so much better and she looks like a rock star! After my cat Samantha got her paws caught in a window last year, she has been very reluctant to have me trim her nails (I was in the room and I think she blamed me for the accident.) I have been afraid to cut her nails since, because of the trauma she gets pretty squirmy and unhappy, and I don't want to accidentally harm her.. They came and handled my cat with great care, and cut her nails for a fair price in three (!!!) minutes. Sammy meowed a bit and complained, but it was over before I knew it. She happily accepted treats afterwards and went back to her normal self. I am so happy I've found a solution to getting her nails clipped! Will DEFINITELY be using again. read more

Hallelujah!!! Our puppy prayers have been answered! Nick and Kara are AMAZING! They came to groom our 7 year old poodle terrier mix who is very anxious and could no longer go to our regular grooming place because of his anxious, honory behavior. They did such a good job with Lilo and were able to groom him in our bathroom with no problem. Lilo looked like a puppy again and he was so happy when they came and when he was all done. Nick and Kara did a wonderful job giving our cat a lion cut and nail trim. He is a Maine Coon and has a really thick coat. I usually take him to a groomer but this was far less traumatic for him. The car ride is usually the worst part of the process. They sheared him and he looks and feels great! They cleaned up the bathroom afterward and it was immaculate, not a piece of fur left behind. I don't know how they did it! And the price was right. Same price as the groomer but minus the hassle! read more

I LOVE Nails and Tails! When I emailed Kara and Nick to tell/warn them about my extremely fussy senior Pomeranian with a herniated disc, their response was that they would take special care of him. And they did! He looked beautiful and they were so nice-even left my tiny bathroom completely clean! One can tell they really love animals and are extremely skilled. I was so happy with their service, that later I asked them if they'd be willing to do two cats and two more dogs-all in the same visit! They were super accommodating and left my beasts (three of which are seniors) happy and looking great! I can't say enough good things about Nails and Tails! These guys were great. Our two 15 year old cats had never been to a groomer, never had a bath/shower, never had their nails clipped before. The more skittish one had developed some serious matting near his tail, and hated it when I tried to cut away some of it. I was fearing the amount of trauma involved. These people were wonderful. I paced outside the bathroom door on and off and never heard a single sound of distress or complaint from either cat throughout the process. I sent Nails and Tails an email about getting my dog's nails trimmed. They responded pretty quickly and we made the appt. They showed up promptly and trimmed my boy's nails. They did such great job and Rocco handled it well. They were nice and quick. Great that I didn't have to drag Rocco to the vet's office, the service was worth every single penny. I mean, what a genius idea for a business. They were literally in & out in 10 minutes (max) when they came & trimmed the nails of our two kitties. And Kara and Nick clearly have had a lot of experience from working for veterinarians in the past, it's evident in their professional nature and caring way they deal with, interact with, and handle the animals. Prices are totally reasonable too, and you no longer have to stress out your cats by putting them in their carriers to take them to get groomed. We'll be using their services monthly. I love Nails and Tails! I don't own a car, so it's very difficult to get my puppers in for a bath and nail trimming. She goes off-leash hiking twice a week with a pack of other dogs, so she can get too dirty to clean with just grooming pads. I came across the reviews for Nails and Tails one day and I was so excited to see a service that comes right into your place and gives baths there. When I called in yesterday, Kara told me they were going out of town for Labor Day weekend and tried to set an appointment for Tuesday thereafter. It was my own fault for calling in so last minute, but I really wanted my dog to have her bath on Friday because she's due for her flea treatment the next day. When I explained this to her on the phone she agreed to come over super early on Friday morning so that we could get this done before they leave on vacation and I go to work. This morning Nick and Kara arrived a few minutes early, bonded with my pup, and then somehow traded in my smelly baby for a clean and groomed version of the same model. She was even wearing a cute little bandana, and they left her a bag of treats as a welcome gift! I couldn't believe how reasonable the price was for a bath and nail trim- I wanted to set our next appointment before they even left my apartment! I also really appreciated how accommodating they were in putting up with my last minute scheduling. Happy (and soon to be repeat) customer here! read more

Nails and tails came to give our shipoo a much needed makeover. Every other groomer so far hasn't taken any time to brush our dog (he had some matting), so we would end up with a closely shaven dog who looked like a baby goat. These folks arrived on time, brought Bear into our bathroom for around twenty minutes - and he emerged a different dog! They cut the hair away from his big brown eyes leaving the long lashes intact and brushed his coat out! I loved the results and will definitely be calling them again soon! read more

Man oh man - what an awesome experience! We have a 5-year old Abby/blue mix and he is too feisty for us to do the nail trimming. Nick and Kara just gave the fat beagle a mani pedi and ear cleaning for the first time yesterday. They were great. Professional and warm , and most importantly, really loving to my old pooch.
