Wow! This new place is so beautiful. New of course and in a prime area. I have been a customer of Michael for over six months. I found him on yelp. I had tried pretty much every nail salon in Pittsburg and some parts of Antioch. The places I've been too were initial good for full set but when I would return for a fill the nail techs did an horrible job. So I found Michaels 1st spot nail and spa on Buchanan and have been a regular customer. I read the reviews on yelp about his new place and had to smh. First off yes it's a new place they have to get regular staff in to help with the demand. And yes his wife April at times can be direct and sometimes people can mistake that as been rudemaybe people gave her in the moment feed back and I think her behavior would change. If I could give 0 stars I would. I went in when they first opened and a woman helped me, I got a manicure and did the REAL POWDER DUP for my nails. I went in last week for the same thing and I specifically asked if they still did the powder dip and the guy said yes. So I asked for a mani and my fingers looked worse then when walking in didnt even get a hand massage or critical pup put on my nails. Then I was passed to another guy where he was to do the "powder dip" I wanted it because it has vitamins in it and it's very strong. The guy started putting regular acrylic and I said " wait, dont you have the powder dip set?" He told me no because it's faster to do this when you come back in for changing color. WTF?!?!?! I'm not here to make your job easy! I pay full price for something that wasnt even real product $45!!! And nope I didnt even tip either guy. If someone ask if you have something in your store you need to tell the truth!!!! This place should not be open at all! While I was there one worker guy left and 2 min later a woman walked in and asked where he was because she had an appointment and she was told that he left in the morning because he was sleepy. She then said "why did i see him walk out the store like 2 min ago then. They didnt tell her anything. These people have no respect they lie to your face and have no work ethic. If you can please avoid this place. It's not a salon to go to and relax while getting anything done. The one star is strictly for one of the workers named Vicky. She is the oldest woman there and she displayed dishonest business practices tonight. I've been going here since November 2018. I got my nails done with a chrome powder twice. Both times she charged me an extra $10. Today I asked for chrome again and she tells me it's $15. I told her that I got the chrome twice before for $10. She told me that's not true because it's always been $15. She then asked another employee (Kevin) the amount, and he said nothing. She asked another employee and she said $15, obviously siding with Vicky. This was her attempt to prove that it's always been $15. I told both of them they were liars, and they did not contest. It's honestly not about the extra $5 it's the fact that she tried to get over on me for the $5. When I called her a liar with dishonest business practices and horrible customer service she then said, "ok I'll do it for $10." The bottom line is she tried to nickel and dime me and when I called her out she tucked her tail. My daughter and I came here to get our nails done for her graduation to spend quality time together, but it was ruined. The guy that was doing my daughter's nails was fighting on speaker phone most of the time. When he wasn't, the techs were yelling back and forth to each other. I walked in here spur the moment not thinking they could fit me in for a fill or a pedicure BUT they were able to fit me in for both and THU is absolutely amazing and hilarious. We talked like we have been friends for years. It's so hard to find such a good technician and I finally have. Best coffin nails I've had by far. I know there are other locations that have ridiculously expensive gel manicure services but here was only $25. Went in yesterday to get a lip wax and the owner and/or manager, I forgot his name waxed me. I went to school for an esthetician and recently passed state board so I know the proper process. He didn't apply any powder before the wax or clean the area before applying the wax. Waxed my lip and then left little pieces of the muslin (strip) on my lip. He attempted to wipe some off but got fed up and let me leave looking a mess. Didn't even wipe all the wax off either. This is the second time he's done the same thing and always looks like he doesn't want to do the wax. read more

This is the first time I have gone to this nail salon. They close at 7:30pm I got there since 6:30pm. I was asked to come back at 7pm because they were busy. I said okay so I did. When I finally got my feet put in water to soak was around 7:20ish but then I waited there till like closer to 7:50pm finally was getting my pedicure done then I got my manicure done. I was satisfied with the end results but it just took a long time they only have a few employees. I really wanted some checkers done on my ring finger nail but the lady said she couldn't do it which I thought was weird since the place called "Nail Art" checkers dont seem to hard to do. Anyways I will probably try it again seeing as I got there late maybe that could have contributed to delay in services and declining to do my checkers lol. I would not ever recommend this place. Sat down to get my feet done and the dude said 5 mins, waited for over 30 mins. They had me trying to soak my feet in cold water. When the lady finally come to do my feet she was upset idk about what not my business. But she was being very aggressive with my feel and not gentle at all I had to ask her to be gentle several times. She cut my toe and rushed through the entire pedicure. She asked if I wanted deluxe and I said yes and she gave me just the average pedicure no deluxe. Rushed through the entire pedicure and just very unprofessional. I spent $50 on a manicure and my nails started peeling the next day. I only get SNS a.k.a dip powder. I've been getting it for the past 3 years now and I should've known when the nail tech was using monomer to apply the powder that it's gonna end up messed up because that's not how it's ever done. I gave him the benefit of the doubt because I thought it was a new technique. But I was wrong! I had to go to another salon to pay again to have them do it right. It's just frustrating because when I pay for a service I expect it to be right the first time. But now I know this salon only cares about quantity over quality. Now I know he just rushed through my manicure so he can get to others. They also did a horrible job on my cousins nails!! She got overlay and it literally started popping off the next day. I am completely disappointed in the services today! I went for a fill yesterday and they did a good job. Today, I made an appointment an hour in advance and the man confirmed with me the time. So, during my lunch break, I go to try ans get my pedicure done and another man said the guy isn't here and they can't do my pedicure right now. Went in for a mani/pedi before vacation. I got there right when they opened and apparently they are skeleton staff in the early hours. I was there forever since my lady had to do my pedi first then have me go to her station for a manicure afterwards. She kept pushing gel for my nails. I said no then she asked again a few minutes later and said it would be good. I asked if she meant it will be good for me or her pocket. I thought about it and since I rarely do my nails and when I do I hate the color chipping I decided to do it after she knocked $5 off the price. Instead of $15 extra for the gel she did it for $10. Still too much for what I ended up with. My gel nails started peeling after 4 days. Sixty dollars including tip and my nails and toes look like hell. I gave nails art a chance Michael the co-owner was the one I got my nails done by on 5/23/18. The building itself is beautiful and all of the technicians items are new because it justh opened. We had a rocky start because Michael said that he can complete marble nails design when he in fact could not he was not even able to replicate a photograph shown to him created by his wife so I had to opt out 4 a glow in the dark nail which he also struggled with and had to do several coats and it still barely glowed in the dark. By 6/5/18 I had already lost about three nails first starting with my thumb .my thumb nail is so smooth as if there was no nail ever adhered or buffed on to my nail but it had already been over the 3-day policy so I decided to just let it go and never return I work right next door at Panera Bread and have trusted Associates who's actually had great experiences with other people who work there when I presented them my nails in the present day they tell me that I need to go over there and let them know about what's been happening and the man immediately got defensive and started shouting the policy and telling me that I couldn't get my nails for free when that is not what I came over there for I just came over there to let him know that his work was Sapar and there should be no season why my nails after a full set of acrylic nails with gel polish that my nails are smooth to the touch and just popping off and he said to me that maybe I wash my hands too much and that was his response and that was very unprofessional blaming me for his mistake of not buffing my nails then he stated that he does Nails every single day and he knows how to do nails basically implying that just because I'm not a nail technician that I don't know what I'm talking about when it comes to my nails being perfectly smooth after a full set ! I will not be going back to him ever again. Perhaps I might use his wife or someone else in the building but he will never touch my hands AGAIN the building has potential but there are already so many nail salons in the area that can complete simple tasks that its unbelievable at this point. I waited almost an hour for a $45 "DELUXE" Pedicure and $20 manicure that included a 30 sec massage on each leg and foot, 2 minute leg masque and 15 sec hot stone and no lotion massaged on my feet. Where is the deluxe. I can't get massages for a minute in each leg? That's fair. I know it's petty but I counted. She was rushing !!! The only reason I gave this shop 2 stars is because it's clean and they have a lot of colors. Not a shop where you go to have a relaxing pedicure. It's one of those hurry up for the next customer shops. This was the fastest, roughest pedicure I ever had. I asked the tech to slow down 2x!! The deluxe pedicure is a joke and not worth the extra $15. I didn't stay for the manicure. It's not a service. You feel like you're on an assembly line and the tech is just trying to get to the next customer. There was no way I was going to let them charge me $20 for a manicure. I let them know too.
