I didn't have any money next to me, but I think it could've been weird if I did. They give a cash discount. They also offer beverages. I walked in on whim to fix my broken toe nail that got chipped from running, and my broken gel-x nail on my thumb; had a new set done at a different salon 2 days ago and was worried the colors wouldn't match. Katie was super sweet and patient with being accommodating, allowing me to choose the colors to ensure a match. I'm very surprised that the colors worked out cause it would've driven me crazy to have a slightly off color. She also let me borrow her phone charger, which I'm grateful for...lastly, I spilled a bit of coffee on myself and she was so kind with fetching me a wet towel. I hate giving a bad review for a place I've been going to for years, however, I tried to resolve this via the email address that is listed on their website and received no response. I went to get my nails done and a usual eyebrow wax and left with a very significant burning sensation to my eyebrows, specifically my left one. I was clearly burned with the wax pretty badly and nothing has been done in an effort to resolve this. It's very unfortunate as I've been going to Ann's since 2018. I have attached photos of day 1 and 2 post wax. I fear I may be left with a scar. Update: I was contacted by someone via Yelp saying they were reviewing this case and that my a manager would be in touch with me, today (1/20/26). I was not contacted and notified the person that reached out to me of the lack of communication I received from any manager. What a shame, considering I spent $126 (without tips) for a subar manicure and a scar on my face. I went in for the luxury collagen spa pedicure. I nearly fell asleep during the massage. It was so lovely. I'm a sucker for hot stones. My nail tech was very thorough. She did a great job. The salon itself is very pretty and they offer you a beverage. Come in and pamper yourself. read more

The BEST San Diego nail salon!! I have been coming here for a year or two now, and my love for Ann's grows every time I go. Today, the unfortunate happened. I lost a very very valuable ring at some point between entering and leaving the salon. When I went back in to ask if they've seen it, every part of the staff searched their area, the trash, the used towels, the floor. The receptionist guy even pulled out the security camera footage to retrace my steps and see where it might've fallen out. Three of the nail techs (including the best ever May) literally came out with me with to help look in my car and on the road. Luckily I found it, and they were all jumping for joy with me. Easily the best and sweetest staff here. I recommend it to everyone I know. Not to mention they're pretty amazing at nails too! They take the time to test colors on your nails and really focus on the quality of nails they do. I've never left here unhappy with a set I got :)) read more

I typically get my nails done closer to home in La Mesa. But I was at work, I broke a nail and I am leaving for vacation tomorrow morning. So I decided to jump on Yelp to see if there is a good nail salon by job that I could get my nails done at. After reading some reviews for Nails by Ann, I called and requested May, because I saw her name in a few positive reviews. I made and appointment and came on my lunch break and I was NOT disappointed, not only was May friendly and professional, she did a great job on my fill. She is experienced and reshaped them exactly lie I like them! In addition to May, the entire staff was friendly and the inside is very clean and nicely decorated. First time here since new ownership. Pros: we were 2 walk in pedis. Got us right in. Nails look ok. Reasonable price. Good massage. CONS: front desk guy is not friendly. They cut my toe! WTHeck. Least they could do was offer a discount. Nothing! The tech's apologized and that's it. The tech that cut me pulled the cuticle instead of cutting it and that's what made it bleed. I have been coming here for over 6 years. When they were under the previous ownership I always had a good experience. The past few years have been hit or miss. Today was the last straw for me. First of all, we pay good money to come here. I spend close to 100$ each time I come in so I expect good service. Today was the absolute worst experience I could even imagine and I'm left horrified and embarrassed. I came in for a fill and a pedicure. The same woman was doing my fill today as I saw last time I came in. I was already uncomfortable because she did my nails last time and she cut my cuticle once and took almost 2 hours on my nails which is just ridiculously long. A new woman was doing my toes but I barely paid attention because of what was going on with my hands. She did my color and then did my massage which was really weird because she wasn't able to massage my feet? anyways , the woman doing my fill cut my cuticles 4 times. I have a very bad anxiety disorder and each time made me feel closer to a panic attack. The 4th time was actually over the same area on my pinky that she cut previously and I started to have a panic attack. I started crying, and I was so embarrassed and frustrated. The woman laughed and called me "cute" for crying. I am a grown woman in my mid 30s, I've been getting my nails done most of my adult life and I have never had anyone make me cry during a fill. She also made comments like "your family must love You so much" and "do you want to hit me right now" I was gritting my teeth but also realized my toenails looked terrible after my pedicure and asked if someone could repaint the big toe because the texture of the top coat was visible and looked bad. Another woman came over and said they all looked bad so she repainted all of them. The woman who did my toes also didn't massage my feet at all? Only my legs. I left with ashy feet. While she did that, the woman who originally did my toes came back and hovered over next to me the entire time while talking to the other 2 women in their language and laughing at what I can only expect was at my behalf. Other workers were looking over and smirking .I tried to hold back my tears but I was crying this entire time. My toenails still look awful. I was laughed at and treated like shit. This woman who did my fill should not be doing nails. Cutting someone 4 times is absurd. And then laughing at me after... I am so upset that I have been a loyal customer here for 6 years and was treated like shit today. Do not come here. I wouldn't wish this experience on my worst enemy. I will never come back. And I felt very well taken care of and relaxed. Tammy was able to fix my nails that I got done a week ago. She made them shorter and did and amazing job on the design ! I am so grateful for it , because it did take some time so I appreciate her very much. For the woman who did my spa pedicure , she was beyond sweet and always made sure everything was okay. Always treat me with a mimosa right when I walk in and this is actually the only nail salon that I have been to with true OPI products; bubble bath is my go to; which may I add all my nails match and are the same length and shape. They don't rush and most definitely take their time, which is shown in their work. A month later and my nails are not lifting or snagging on my hair honestly could probably go a few more days but just booked my next appt. I'm a dog groomer too so the fact that a month later and they are all still intact fascinates me!
