My super fancy hotel was lacking spa services so I sought out a great nail salon (I'm a nurse so I am very picky on where I'll send my feet for a dip). I happened upon Ceci's salon. It was an easy .4 miles from my hotel. The commute was not a bad one. I am a small-town girl that feels very fragile in the big city. I was perfectly comfortable walking to this location, as the foot traffic was heavy. I did call ahead to make an appointment. Once arriving, everyone was very kind. We discussed what I was looking for and they were glad to help. Everyone there had great communication skills and ensured I was aware of my next steps (we had some rearranging that was done in my scheduled appointment). Elaine- she was fabulous! I understand that delays can happen, but there was very little communication about the wait. My nail tech was quiet, which I didn't mind at all. However, when I asked questions throughout my appointment, she either didn't respond or didn't acknowledge them, which made the experience feel uncomfortable. I originally wanted acrylic nails, but I was persuaded to get Gel-X instead because I was told they would last longer. Unfortunately, that has not been my experience. I wasn't planning on leaving a review, but after only one week, several of my nails are already lifting. For a $120 service, I expected much better quality and durability. At this point, they feel comparable to press-on nails. Overall, I'm disappointed because I spent a lot of money expecting a long-lasting, professional set, especially for a special occasion. I think they were surprised to see us because it's appointment only but they were nice and accommodating and were able to help us. This place isn't as fancy as other salons meaning there were no massage chairs and fancy spa treatments but I'm happy with the quality of my pedicure. She was quick and efficient but also did a good job. My two colleagues were happy as well (one got a mani/pedi and the other got a mani with extensions).
