I was happy to hear from her and asked if I could come later in the month to give my nails a chance to grow out. She said yes and told me to reach out when I was ready. I finally reached out at the end of June and scheduled a time with Eve. She was very meticulous throughout the process and helped me pick out a nice cat eye color. I'm really grateful to Eve for her care and communication to remedy a disappointing first experience. You can tell she really cares about her clients and wants to deliver the best possible experience. Don't let the fact that there's no storefront discourage you from stopping in. You'll be glad you did. I was on business from the east coast and my cuticles were a mess. I needed to get a basic manicure ahead of a week of meetings so I called from the sidewalk in front of the building and Eve took me straight away. We found this place on google maps after a reservation at another salon in the area fell through. It was a little odd because this place is located in an apartment building but it was completely empty when we walked in which was perfect because there were three of us. I think they were surprised to see us because it's appointment only but they were nice and accommodating and were able to help us. This place isn't as fancy as other salons meaning there were no massage chairs and fancy spa treatments but I'm happy with the quality of my pedicure. Came into town needing my nails done! So glad i took the time out to go on yelp & check out this gem! I had an acrylic soak off with a set of GelX .. love love love them! Went for Classic Mani /Pedi with Himalayan soak as they advertised , all a bait & switch. They charge 50 if you are late or No show Well what about if you arrive on time and have to wait 25 minutes ? Do they treat you with care No NO NO! The whole experience was Horrible. The pedicure was passable rate it a 6 she had to keep doing 2 toes because the polish was applied in a rush three coats and no wait in-between coats. Then you move to the table for Mani area was dirty had debris open soda can, nasty nail polish sticks etc. I had to tell her to move it! By the way my shoes, my purse, jacket no offer for help as she moved me to another location for manicure , not service oriented at all so condescending I have never experienced service this poor.On to the Mani 1st_ I asked her not to cut all around cuticle just the sides Please "she began this condescending speak about how she was a tech who did a good job and she did not know where I had had my Mani done in the past but her work was great ! ( I live in Europe part time and I just ignored her I thought this was so insultive I would not dignify it with a reply. AS she contunie my mani she used a tool you only use for acrylic nails I thought this was strange , then we get to the polish she applies the polish and I notice it old so I ask her if that's old lets just use the other one I had selected 2 colors she ignored me and mumble something incorrect she continues to apply polish on my left hand and it was all lumpy and messy so I showed her and she began to remove it So ow my hands have gone thru all this damage of acetone and she did not even wipe them clean I began to wipe my finger with the damp towel She applied the clear base coat ( My Nail Tek that I brought with me ) and I said to her that will e all. She begged to finish the manicure but I had endured enough and I I'd her farewell as she exclaimed but you paid for it and you are not getting the service . I said to her it does not matter I have had enough! I swear this is the worst salon I have ever seen too and all this pretentious ads and description are all FALSE . The best and ONLY place downtown to get your nails done, hands down! (pun intended :)) But seriously, as someone that's lived downtown for nearly a decade, I've been to many other nail salons in the area and none compare. I've been going to Eve's Space consistently for several months and my nails have never looked this good. They're long, strong, and I continue to get compliments on them even when it's been three weeks since my last manicure! Eve and her team are so friendly and welcoming, and the space itself is really special. It's in a beautiful loft which adds another level of relaxation to the experience as you're transported away from the busy streets of dtla. It's centrally located so if you're local it's an easy walk or metro ride away. If you're driving, there's parking in the building or across the street at The Bloc. In fact, if you're coming from outside of downtown, make a day out of your appointment and stop by all the other great shops nearby (Uniqlo, Sephora, Target, Zara) or grab food at one of the amazing restaurant in the neighborhood (Bottega Louie, Joey, Sugarfish). There's even a Whole Foods around the corner where you can park for free as long as you buy something ;) Eve and her team are true artists and experts in their craft and it's so apparent the care and attention they put into their work. Eve's Space is a nail salon inside The Loft - on the top floor of the building. I've only gone to Eve's Space, but there is also a hair salon, & I believe they also offer tanning, facials, lashes & more. So, if you want, it can be a sort of one-stop-beauty-shop. There is parking. It is public parking however, so it does cost $15. But it is convenient as it's located in the same building. You can book an appointment online, text, or by calling. & you will get email confirmation & reminders. Eve is my favorite! I definitely recommend booking with her. One of my nails grows kind of to the side, & my cuticle is uneven - not sure if I'm describing that well, but she is amazing! She files the Gel X nails to fit my nail bed & makes them look great. When I go in with an idea or picture of what I want, she brings my visions to life perfectly! & she offers input, which I appreciate, because she knows what I like & I trust her nail expertise when it comes to what will actually look good irl vs in my head. & we always have the best conversations! Her selection of colors & services keeps expanding.. Very pleasantly surprised with my visit! I was hired for a last minute gig and needed a manicure ASAP. I found this place because they promptly responded to my Yelp request for a full acrylic set, and within a few minutes I was getting ready to leave to my appointment. I was told about Gelx extensions and how they're better on your nails so I chose those over the traditional acrylics (they're also cheaper). Booking over text was fast and easy since the person I was talking to was very responsive. I ended up parking in the attached parking garage for $10. Not sure if there were many other options considering the place is in downtown, but I was in a hurry and didn't have time to find cheaper parking. Somebody met me in the downstairs lobby to take me upstairs to the space, and then I met my nail tech (Eve, I think!). She was super chill and welcoming, and right away I knew she and I were going to get along well. I didn't have a specific idea on how I wanted my nails but we talked about it and figured it out as we went. I love the final results! My tech was very professional, clean, and quick. It was obvious that she knew what she was doing and that she was good at it. We made good conversation and I felt very comfortable around her right off the bat, which really made the experience that much better. I don't think I've ever gotten such a clean set, ever! I'm very much so a detail-oriented person who gets bothered by uneven shaping or excess product on the cuticles etc etc but I had no issues whatsoever. She recently opened in this location that is not a storefront but rather on a high floor in a building. I loved the wood ambiance and detailing of the building and room. This is exactly what I look for when it comes to supporting businesses. Local and handcrafted :) she was able to do nail art. I found simple designs since I had limited time but the one detailed turkey I asked for, she more than delivered by creating an ombré gradient for the feathers. I like that she genuinely listened to me and helped come up with designs for my nails and did so in a timely manner. She does not offer dip or acrylic but was able to come up with a compromise with the supplies she does offer. I only have two gripes- the price and some of my nails were a wee crooked. I was in LA for the weekend and was looking to make a same-day appointment; I reached out around 9:30 AM and was able to book with Eve first thing at 10 AM. She was quick to respond via text and the location was easy to find. There is parking across the street ($10/hr?) but I parked down the street ($8/first 4 hours) at the USC Keck lot. Eve was punctual and friendly, and we chatted for most of my appointment. I appreciated that she shared recommendations for which color to select, as I only had a vague idea of what I wanted. I went with bare nails, so she went straight into shaping and preparing my nails. (She did make a cuticle bleed slightly but immediately treated it and it didn't hurt.) When applying the polish, she was very detailed and painted to the edge of the nail, which I always appreciate lol Very happy with my experience at Eve's! It was on the more expensive end for me ($60 gel mani + $15 tip) but I don't go to the salon often, so I don't mind the occasional big expense. I've been going to Red Kelly for my lashes but never done my nails there. I've seen them for many years, but since I already had my place I've been going to for years, never thought of trying. Very underwhelming. Reviews are pretty good overall so I had high expectations. 3 days after getting a regular pedicure + gel manicure and both are already chipping. My gel manicure has random bubbles on a few nails. Seating for the pedicure was uncomfortable, the stand where you place your feet felt wobbly. The person who did my pedicure did not seem like they wanted to work and was touching their phone while working on my feet. I hate leaving bad reviews, especially for small businesses, but hopefully they can learn from this. read more
