I prefer techs that are straightforward and honest so neither of our time is wasted. Her studio is accessible via bus and requires walking up an outdoor set of stairs to access it. She is unable to do the simplest of designs even when you provide a clear reference photo, she INSULTED my choice of design saying verbatim, "this is ugly and I wouldn't even know how to do it" ....ma'am if you don't know how to draw a sparkle, you must not be a talented nail artist. I've gotten my nails done from Nia couple times now, but didn't want to write a review until I tried all of her services from Aprés gel x, regular gel, to regular gel with design. She has consistently amazed me with her sense of detail, but also incorporating what I wanted with her own style. Apart from her nail skills, she keeps her station so clean. I noticed the other 3 salons that I went to used another brand of gel-x nails because it did not come out nice at all. You do. When I texted you I put the date (the 30th) and you responded with a time. You had to look in your book to see my appointment, If the date was wrong, why wouldn't you have mentioned that when you told me the time? This situation was an error on your part. When I came on the 30th you said you double booked and you offered me my deposit back or another appointment the following week. The next day when I told you I was going to go elsewhere and asked for my deposit back you refused and said it was my fault. I know sometimes things happen and mistakes are made, but your response was completely unprofessional the following day. When you have a business and you mess up, you should accept it and try to make it right instead you were accusatory and putting the blame on me when I have no control over your booking process. Located inside of a beauty salon, Nia is a 1-woman operation. I've never been to a nail technician who actually cared about the quality and health of my nails. She's meticulous and skilled, and removes gel/acrylic carefully, using remover and foil versus EVERY OTHER NAIL SALON that forcefully and painfully clips and peels off the gel/acrylic, leaving the natural nail weak and paper thin. My natural nails are growing stronger and stronger with every visit to Nia. Also!!!!!!!!! I've never had gel that lasts this long. I just waited A MONTH before making a new appointment! That is unheard of for me. My nails grow fast so the gel manicures from other salons usually only last about a week and a half. I'm pretty shocked about how long my manicures last with Nia, but I'm also not shocked, as it's evident her careful process is to credit. She has lots of cute colors and sparkly shimmery powders too. And is always available when I call for an immediate appointment. Can't recommend her enough! P.S. She also does gel extensions, which is a new concept to me.
