Well... over 30 min wait with an appointment. Picked my own color and applied a different color that I did not select. Tried to convince me they were the same and was NOT AT ALL. Messed up big toe after I asked it to be fixed multiple times. And left with multiple cuts from filing down. As I was trying to explain why I was unhappy with the work and asked for a discount, they continued to force me to pay in full. Tried to convince the salon that I was crazy and causing a scene as I kept calm. The owner continued to raise their voice and followed me out the door. I am really torn on this review. The ladies work here are really really nice, they are also almost directly across the street from my apartment building. I would really love to come here more often. However, I had 3 not great experiences with them. Not sure if I should go back. First incident-- They appear to have many regulars, who would book appointments. I was a walk in on that particular day. They took me in, but they were rushing through the process. My nails didn't come out looking great, or durable. That's fine, I didn't make an appointment, I will follow the rules next time. Second time over-- I made an appointment, come right on time, service was good, no complains there. At the time of paying, they told me they no longer accept Venmo. Not knowing ahead of time, I didn't bring cash. They stood there and stared at me for 5 minutes with hesitation-- as if I was lying and have cold hard cash, but refuse to pay them. Eventually, they took the Venmo, but I felt really bad. Third time, I brought cash, I made appointment, all things should work out good. This time the lady asked if I would like to have some add on services. I told her no thank you. 3 TIMES. She kept on asking over and over as if she does not hear me. It began to feel like a toxic relationship, each time I go back to them, I felt horrible. Perhaps I should stop going. read more

I would give this place zero stars if I could Walking into this place it looked very unsanitary! Why did I stay I guess I just felt bad walking out but never again will I go back. First off they don't even put bags around the tub for your pedicure. Most places that don't use the bags sanitize the bowl and you see because it has to be running for a while before they use it again. What really grossed me out was that they were working on woman that had severe fungus infection! If tools are not cleaned properly it is contagious!!!!! Moving on to the acrylics. They were not shaped properly and to top it off they want to charge $15 extra for everything! I know you get charged extra for certain things but at least do a good job. Literally just got these done 4 days ago !!!!! Not only did one of the ladies cut off my toenail to the meat , the quality of the GEL nail polish is extremely cheap . I had a great experience at Nails by Kim! It took a very long time to finish my pedicure and gel manicure but they were efficient in cleaning and making the nails look nice. A little over priced for add ons like stones etc which I didn't like. Now I know though. Update: I'm sad to say but I can't give this place 4 stars. I just got my gel manicure 4 days ago, which I paid nearly $60 for and the gel is just peeling off. Literally- look at the picture. I am going to go there today and see if they will give me a free manicure to make up for the inconvenience. The gel also started developing weird stains after day 2! I don't know if it's technique or the polish they use but I hope that can make this right for me. read more

Update (previous review below): Your response was filled with lies and a friend of mine recently had a similar experience. I of course was not surprised when she mentioned it was your business. Completely unprofessional and absolutely no excuse to not have a working card machine and send me (or any other customers) to an unrelated food merchant to run my card for a nail service. Who knows what schemes you have going on, but it is not acceptable. You all were paid for your services and my card went through successfully. You all are discriminatory, unprofessional, and rude. People of color, take your business elsewhere! My review can be taken by prospective customers how you please, but I urge you, if you are a person of color, just observe your treatment carefully. Please also be careful with them walking away with your card or asking you for cash apps. In addition, please be sure to move your shoes or any personal belongings far away from the work station because they spilled a bottle of nail polish on my items, mistakes happen, but no apology, nor was there any even the smallest attempt made to rectify the matter. Nice try guys, but it's 2022 and poor service and discriminatory practices will not be tolerated or go without being exposed. Good luck patronizing this establishment. P.S. - Sift through all of the fake reviews and look at all of their shady pricing practices. We are women who have been getting our nails done for years! The worst manicure I've ever had. She nicked me several times, one even bled. The manicure doesn't even look good. She was very rough and was grinding down my nails so much that it burned. Wasn't relaxing or enjoyable at all. The extensions were thick and didn't look natural. Made an appointment and still waited almost 30 minutes. Others waiting nearly an hour. One of my nails has already cracked and my cuticles hurt so bad I had to pay someone else to have them removed. read more

I was excited to come here because of the reviews but couldn't be more upset upon leaving. This is one of those nail places that charges you extra for everything. When I called I asked how much for mani pedi and if they take card. She told me $30 and yes they take credit card. With tip I ended up paying $50 for a regular mani pedi with their ridiculous add ons! They charged me $2 extra because I chose opi polish then charged me $6 for a foot scrub which is usually included at other places. I opted out of the $5 foot massage which meant no massage at all, something also included in regular mani pedis. In the end, she also charged me because I didn't have cash tip, AFTER I had asked on the phone if they took card. The worst part is that the place is disgustingly dirty (my massage chair was broken and the floor was filthy) and my manicure only listed 2 days (see pics). After all those add-ons, my nails didn't gene make it through the weekend... I could not be more displeased with this visit. read more

It was decent. I called at 230pm to make an appointment for 3pm for a full set and a pedicure ,and Vicky said come on in. I didn't get seated till 335pm Pros: -Helen is good at acrylics. They were the shape I wanted and she asked me lots of questions. She was also meticulous about corners and dis a good job buffing/shaping. -Pedicure lady was nice -they have OPI and Essie colors -they have massage chairs -friendly happy staff Cons: -Price is whatever. Considering they are in a strip mall and lack any ambiance. Or large selection of colors. I paid $20 for a pedicure, and I think $27 for the full set with white French manicure painted on top, + I think she added a quick dry coat. So $47 + 1 credit card fee= $48 -the place does look kind of dirty. I agree w other yelpers -they want TIPS IN CASH. there's a large sign to remind you of that. No, you can't just add it to your credit card -my French manicure could have used another coat, a couple of my nails look stripey? -they use a technicians cell phone for music so when you're relaxing and then it rings, it can be pretty jarring Overall, I'd probably come back just to see Helen for the full set but maybe find somewhere else to get a pedicure/massage chair/better ambiance. read more

I've been searching for a nail place for almost two years in my neighborhood. I finally think I found the right place for me. A guy (name unknown) did my feet and let me tell you, my feet looks feels like silk!!! Tammy painted my toes and they look beautiful! As for my hands, Tammy also did my hands with gel and I love them. She did them they just the way I asked and never suggested anything else which I like. I've been here a handful of times now. I would say if you're looking for acrylics, pass. I do however, love the gels. Helen is probably my favorite. I came here right before a vacation/birthday and she did exactly what I needed. I constantly bring my friends. Prices are reasonable, they prefer cash only. Love this place. Usually, the people who work in the traditional nail salons are not the nicest people. But here, everyone is really nice. They pay attention to what they do and most importantly they do not rush their services. They take their time, but also work efficiently. I can get my spa pedicure and gel manicure within an hour because they have enough staff for you to get assigned two people to assist you at once. Other places I have been to in the past usually take forever because they only give you one person to work on your nails. Helen did my coffin/ ballerina shaped acrylic nails with gel on top. She did an AmAzInG job!!.. And I am super picky. So many places they do your nails Crooked especially when they are pretty long and I have to keep correcting the manicure lady and nagging them. Not here. Didn't have to ask Helen once. She is Def a perfectionist. Vicky threaded my eyebrows and also did a wonderful job. Sometimes I'm nervous that someone new might do them too thin but Vicky made them perfectly even. I showed up as a walk-in on a Friday afternoon for a simple, one color manicure. The woman who greeted me looked like she ran the place and told me it would be a 30 minute wait. That was fine with me so I waited. Another girl, who had already been there when I arrived, wanted a gel manicure. After 30 minutes, The main manicurist asked her if it would be alright to take me before her, since mine would be simple. Everyone was cool with everything, so I went ahead. The manicurist's kindness and hustle are the two stars. She also told me they were short staffed that day, all because of legitimate reasons, and she was working hard to appease everyone. Unfortunately, because she was rushing, the manicure was done pretty poorly. Each layer of nail polish started at a different part of the nail, so I had messy layers showing. First layer started at the cuticle, second layer didn't even go until the edges - things like that. I appreciate her making time for me but the job done wasn't worth it. I'm considering not risking it for next time and finding some other spot. I don't get my nails done often, so when I do, I'm hoping for a good job. read more

This is a great little spot that's tucked inside of a small strip mall. I looked around at the reviews of of nail salons around the area and went with Nails by Kim because of the reviews and the photos. I sent an appointment request at about 8:30am (they open at 9am) for a 10am same day appointment (Monday before 4th of July), and I was contacted by Vicki to confirm it! I walked in 10 mins early for my appointment and was immediately seated. The water temp was great and a nice lady began working on my pedicure. Right when another lady was going to get started on my gel manicure, two people walked in, so she went and helped them. But once another person was free, she came and worked on my manicure while my pedicure was being done. They have tons of colors for gel, so I decided to go with a cute, summertime purple on both my hands and feet. They both turned out wonderfully! This place is very small on the inside, so even though they take walk-ins, you should probably make an appointment, especially if you have multiple services or are doing lashes, since that appears to take a while. My complaint was being asked if I wanted multiple other things added onto my pedicure. I was asked if I wanted a dead skin scrub for $6 extra, and I said yes. I was then asked if I wanted a salt exfoliation for an extra $5, and I said no. I was then asked if I wanted an extra long foot massage and I said no, without asking or being told what that price would be. There are "specials" and the price listed for a regular spa pedicure and a gel manicure was $45, but since I added the $6, I paid $51, with a $1.50 charge for paying with my Amex, so my total was $52.50. The soaking in the tub is probably all you'd get for the "spa" pedicure, and then you can add on more stuff at an additional cost to you. I just wish they had a flyer with "packages" of additional things they offer so that you'd know the price in total, instead of having to choose things and tally up the cost in your head. They also do not allow you to add tip onto your card payment, so bring cash or go to the donut shop next door and use their ATM. This was my first time here, so now that I know the ins and outs, I will come better prepared next time, and I will be back! read more

I came to this establishment for a simple manicure. The lady that helped me was nice but she was sneaky. First of, she filed my nail all the way thin to which I quickly pulled back or it was going to bleed, to which she acknowledged that and apologized for it. I told her it was ok since she didn't mean it. But then, goes and says I'll file it with a different buffer to make nails better. Mind you shes an older lady working on my nails. Of course I agreed, then she goes ahead and buffers all my nails adds some lotion and says it's $26..for what!? I had my nail almost shaved to nothing, manicure was mediocre at best, cuticles were still there, dirt from under nails was still there, the shape was all off.. this was a horrible job and I do not recommend this place if you want to do your nails.
