I WAS happy with this place, but things have gotten worse and worse. The two stars are for their designs. If a nail salon does crappy designs I won't go. I have acrylics, and they used to last three weeks before I needed a fill at the place I went to before I moved. Now, I have two nails missing and three chipped and it has only been one week. Best Nail Shop in Town Hands DOWN!!!! Every time my girlfriend wants to pamper herself I take her here. Great vibes and scenery all around! Feels like a great get away somewhere tropical. The employees are also great, they are young, beautiful, and professional. Never a problem here at all, they absolutely take care of their customers 100%. I hate leaving bad reviews but I feel like I got ripped off. The girls were stressed and made me stressed by being rough and rushing. They did a terrible job with my mani pedi! They hardly cut my cuticles, did not shape my nails well at all and refused to use red nail polish. After all that they tried to charge me wrong. read more

I drive all the way from La Jolla to go here, that should say enough about how good they are. I had my 3rd fill here yesterday and it was awesome (as were the previous times as well). I had Nina last time and she was awesome, my fill lasted 3 weeks (til I broke one in a copy machine). I had them shortened quite a bit (I'm moving this weekend) and the girl (I forget her name) did a great job, perfectly even and didn't 'burn' my fingers as she dremeled the tips. I've never needed to wait more than 5 minutes, even during a busy weekend when every chair is full. Pink and white with gel coating was only $28, a bargain compared to some of the places here in La Jolla. I haven't had a pedi there yet, but my mom did and she said it was awesome. I don't do them very often, but I am looking forward to it. Closest I've gotten is a polish change 3 weeks ago. I had gotten a pedi at another salon but the french had started to chip and so I just wanted it repainted. No problem and 3 weeks later still looks awesome and perfectly fresh. This place has the cheapest pedicures ever at 20 bucks. But as a result, there is always a stupid wait. I went today and the person doing my pedicure left( I assumed I was done????) And there was a tub of dirty water beneth me and she didn't move the arm rests so I pulled some matrix moves getting out of my chair. So I screwed the polish up. And they were to busy to fix it. Jane did my gel nails... She was super sweet, as was the rest of the ladies who worked here. However, the gel wasn't painted close enough to my cuticles, just after one week they look as if I gotten them done almost three weeks, and are chipping in some nails already:( Overall, the salon is clean, the pedicure chairs looked comfy... But from my experience, if I'm going to pay $40 for gel nails I expect them to last at least a month. read more

This place was clean and reasonably priced. The girl who did my pedi was amazing she took her time and my toes felt amazing! Unfortunately the girl who did my fill was clueless. My nails where rounded when I came in, the first thing she did when I asked to shorten them was she squared off my tips. Leaving me with a very awkard shape. I had to ask her twice before she attempted to smooth them out. After painting one of my hands the girl doing my toes took over for her since apparently she was "too slow" this was of course after a couple of minutes of them talking very obviously negatively about lord knows what over me. The girl shaped my second hand with a file, didnt bother to redo my left since it was already polished...after paying 65 bucksfor some crooked nails I went home & reshaped my own nails. I really hope they read their reviews because this was not okay. Please teach your new staff how to file. Sadly I did a better job than someone who supposedly a professional & I will not be comming back. read more

I found this perfect nail salon about 2 years ago. The owners are a sweet husband and wife. So nice! All the girls who work there are nice and friendly and they do excellent work. I get my fingers done every 2 weeks with gel polish and my toes every 4 weeks with gel polish. It never chips or peels and stays on until my next appointment. I highly recommend this salon, you won't be disappointed! read more

DO NOT GO HERE! I called ahead of time and made an appointment for a new set. When I got there, they told me they didn't have time to do a new set and asked if I wanted to just do a fill instead. I was annoyed, because I had specifically made an appointment, but I was short on time and needed my nails done for a wedding the next day. I agreed to the fill. One woman started my nails, but halfway through left to work on someone else. When I complained, a different woman came over to finish my nails. When I left, I realized how awful they looked. She didn't shape them at all. I had asked for a coffin shape, and it looked like she had just glued squares of wood to my fingers. The polish was blotchy and messy, and all my nails were different sizes and crooked. I went back to ask them to fix them, but they had already closed. Because I had a wedding the next day, I had to go to ANOTHER shop and pay again to have my nails fixed. Overall, VERY unprofessional and disappointing. I will not be going back. read more

This is my new go-to nail salon. I discovered this place in 2012 for my wedding and haven't gone to another salon since. They are open late during the week, always fit me in, and always do a great job. I have never felt like they are rushing my service even when Im keeping them there late. I am really not a fan of "nail salons" but I did actually enjoy this place. The women that work here are very friendly and sweet and the day I went in, they kept the chitter chatter amongst themselves to a minimum which was great, I needed to relax! It was very clean and the place is located right off Rosecrans, which to my delight was also near a mexican food place and I ended up getting lunch right after. They do a great job, I got a spa pedicure and regular manicure for my wedding and it did not cost an arm and a leg. They ONLY take CASH so beware of that. Luckily I had some with me that day but if you don't they do have an ATM. It was the perfect size for some of my bridesmaids to get theirs done with me and they even painted my two flower girls fingers and toes for free. I've gone to many different nail salons in my life but nothing compares to Nails by Lesa. They take their time with you and I've never felt like they were rushing, even when it was busy. They do a great job at paying attention to exactly what you want. If you want your nails trimmed extremely short, then they'll do that. If you want a certain flower, they'll do whatever flower you prefer. Basically, Nails by Lesa has always been my top and favorite place to go to and I doubt that'll change. read more

I am not happy with the service that I received at nails by lesa. I was pestered over 5 times to get gel color after I said multiple times that I only wanted a regular manicure and that was that. My attendant, sam, was very angry that I did not want gel polish and gave attitude towards me. She then rushed through my manicure and did not care if she made any mistakes and ruined my nail design. Just because I wanted regular nail polish does not mean that I should be treated differently than a customer getting gel polish. read more

These ladies know their nails! I called a few days in advance and was able to get an appointment on a Sunday for 10 women, including myself, all in preparation for my wedding the next day. We each got the basic manicure and pedicure and loved every second. Their color selection is one of the biggest I've ever seen, drinks were offered while our nails were being done and everyone working that day was super sweet. The end product was beautiful and dare I say, perfect. They even sprayed a special quick dry solution on our nails so that we didn't have to worry about immediate smudging. read more

I absolutely love this place. I started going there about three years ago and still make the 20 minute drive just to go there. The manicure and pedicures are great and pretty cheap! They do a pretty good job waxing eye brows and I have heard the massages are good as well. They are generally pretty busy, but they get you in quickly.
