Ok, so it's been awhile since I've Yelp'd. I needed to find a new manicurist and it's taken countless hours of research to find one and pray for the best. I found "Hannah" here and needed to remove my entire acrylic set, get a new one, gel French manicure. I had a picture to show her of what I would like, if possible. She was friendly and instantly seemed to be able to accommodate. She was. Precise in all het applications... she has perfected every move from acrylic placement, filing, shaping, polish art work... and quick in doing so. It's been awhile since I've been to Queen's Spa and they didn't disappoint. Got an acrylic fill on my natural nails since gel doesn't usually last just on my natural nails along. The individual doing my nails did a great job and was very detailed/careful while doing it. Prices arw very reasonable and comparable to other salons in the area. If you're looking for a fancy salon, this one definitely isn't it; however, if you're looking for one that does a great job, this one is worth checking out. read more

I love this salon. Everyone is always so nice. I see Hannah regularly for my acrylic fills and full sets. She's great. I've also seen the male technician who I believe might be the owner. He's also very good. Hannah gets booked fast so if you are someone like me who likes to stick with just one person, you will need to book ahead. I found this salon after I needed a new technician and came to Yelp for some fellow Yelpers insight. You will not be disappointed. The reason I am always so particular with my nails is because I don't have too much extra time to deal with chipped or broken nails all the time and I've found when someone is good at their job, you won't have this issue all the time. I know when seeing Hannah, I don't have to worry about this. I can honestly just put my headphones in and catch up on a show or get through a book on my kindle and let Hannah do her thing. I went to this salon based on the reviews. I needed a same day appointment and sent an email requesting a quote. I received a reply within 30 minutes. I then called and spoke with Jenny to ask about availability for a full set and pedi. She advised me to come in at 3:45. I arrived at 3:44 , was advised to pick a color and was headed to the pedi chairs by 3:50. I was serviced by Hannah. She was very professional. The salon was very clean and I was extremely pleased with my service. I would definitely recommend Queen spa and plan to return. read more

So I decided to go back after my bad experience and there seemed to be a lot of miscommunication. I will say it was a bit difficult to explain what we wanted because they talk over you. They never actually explained the nails we wanted couldn't be done with gel at all. They said they couldn't do my roommate's design because her nails were too small. Her nails are pretty long compared to mine, but they are small in width, which isn't her fault. For some reason, they said her nails aren't long enough. Unlike the last time, I was able to explain what I wanted. Jenny did an amazing job! They were nice enough to do a dip for free. I still am a little hesitant to return since 1) I was burned 2) they asked me several times to remove my first review while I was there. Otherwise, they're very nice and talented. Edit: Since I was in a rush to add to this review after repeatedly being told to edit/update/remove the previous review during my appointment to fix the awful manicure I had, there were a few things I would like to add. 1) I never received an apology for being burned and scratched, and that seemed to be completely ignored, which was a huge factor in why I left the review in the first place. They were only focused on my manicure, for which I had previously paid for and was extremely dissatisfied with. 2) The tech explained that they cannot do designs on small nails because no one would know what it was.... I just felt if someone wanted a specific design, they should do so with a warning instead of refusing to do it altogether because they don't like it personally. As I stated before, my roommate's nails are longer, which you can see in the photos, and very small because of her hand size. 3) We were told we should have communicated better and said we wanted it exactly like the picture... we thought we had made that clear by showing them pictures. They also had denied a few pictures we showed them after they said they couldn't do the original one we each chose. They hadn't made it clear that they couldn't do those designs at all. I would have appreciated them listening to us and actually holding a conversation about what they could do and what we wanted. They instead rushed us and didn't make it clear what we would be receiving. What they didn't realize is that roommate had been to many nail salons and had never been denied a design because she was doing a gel manicure. Another reason we were confused. She has been able to get designs before without any issues. Her fingers are naturally small in width but are pretty long. According to her, she was surprised because if the design is larger, the tech usually does a smaller version of the design. 4) This was my one of my first times getting my nails done, but the tech told me they understood why we didn't understand because "we were young"..... I'm almost 30 years old. I am not a child and didn't appreciate being talked to like a child. I really tried my best to be patient with the employees, but they kept making it seem like it was our fault. Along with the unprofessional behavior of constantly asking for me to remove a review, because their manager was upset and they gave me a free manicure. It just made me wonder if they only had good reviews from pressuring people to leave a good review. They also didn't seem to want to fix the situation because I was upset but more-so because they wanted me to remove the review. Everything above still is accurate and Jenny did an amazing job. This has nothing to do with her work but only the customer service. I would highly recommend going to her for an acrylic or dip. I did have a few minor cuts from the electric file, a little painful, but they aren't a huge deal. Although I was impressed by her work, I was really disappointed in the customer service. read more

After I found Queen's Spa a year ago, I have not been to any other nail salons. I'm not the type to review a business after one try. I try to give businesses multiple tries unless I have an all-out horrible experience. Please trust me on this, Queen's Spa is the bomb! I initially started getting my nails done with Hana, and she was fantastic. However, my girl Jenny is my go-to. She's careful, takes her time, gives me wonderful recommendations, and leaves my nails popping. I've gone here 3 times so far and I've gotten a different person each time but every time has been amazing! I get dip powder and they have SO MANY colors which is a major plus. Most importantly it lasts for minimum 3 weeks, I even had my last color on for over 4 weeks! The only reason I get it redone is because it grows out. They do 4 rounds of dipping which I've never experienced (they still file it down and shape it) but I assume thats why it lasts so long, and they do not use a gel top coat (so important). Also they take card but only cash tip. I go at somewhat off hours and there is always someone available and I love that I don't have to worry about who does my nails, because they all do a great job! Also the price is only $40 so between that and the job they do, I am in love with this place and would recommend them to anyone :) read more

I was able to squeeze in a last-minute appointment the day before a 2-week trip. The gel manicure was done quickly & efficiently, but I didn't feel like there was any lack in the quality. The manicure looked great and lasted for the entire trip without any chipping or issues! When I went to get my nails re-done at another salon, they commented on how good this original manicure had been. Definitely recommend for an inexpensive gel manicure in Rockville. I've been going to Queen's spa for over 6 months now. Hana usually does my nails, but I have seen Jenny once when Hana was off. I'm a loyal customer, and I'll usually let some small missteps happen before I completely change spots. That was the case with my old nail salon, which led me to Queen's -- and I am so happy about it. My nails are fairly brittle, so it's difficult to keep long nails from breaking. Even 3-4 coats of gel wouldn't be strong enough... one wrong pull up of the tight jeans and boom, the nail would snap, lol. So when I tried SNS dip for the first time over a year ago, it was a game changer. I'm now able to grow my own length under the dip and they are as strong as ever. Hana does a great job shaping my nails. She's very particular when smoothing out the shape the ensure there are no bumps and ridges along the top or sides, which I greatly appreciate. I usually go back every 4 weeks, but have prolonged to 6 weeks if my schedule is crazy. Hana's done my spa pedicures too. A spa pedicure usually takes about an hour and is worth the extra money for the scrub and massage. Jenny also has great attention to detail. These two ladies are typically booked solid, so call in advance! The place does stay pretty busy, so it's not abnormal they run behind schedule; but there's usually someone who will wrap my nails within 5-10 min of me walking in, so I don't mind. I've also called 15 min before my appointment to see if they're running behind so I can plan accordingly. (Though I have strong opinions on following appointment times, I understand that spa and salon services are very customized to an individual, so I tend to be more flexible in these situations.) read more

Got a last minute appointment here for a pedicure. Chau took such good care of me. I decided to come back and get a gel mani from here. I came with acrylics on that I had hit enough times to make my fingers sore but Tam was gentle. He preserved so much of my nail and the result was just beautiful. I like a simple design for my gel manicures and he executed what I asked for perfectly. I'm 2 weeks out (third picture) and you can only tell because of my nail growth. This was my first time testing a new nail salon out and let me say I was pleasantly impressed with my experience. The shop was really clean, bright, I didn't smell no strong nail polish or chemicals has soon I walked in. I was being asked to be help which I loved because nothing more of a headache is nothing feeling good and were your trying to go Is overly crowed . My nail tech was Lucie she was so welcoming and really nice she was accommodating because I hurt my hand so she was very sweet. Not overly aggressive doing my nails it was really soothing. My new GO TO SPOT for my manicures and pedicures! Jenny is awesome! She is a perfectionist and super detailed oriented. I've gotten gel-manis with her several times and each time is perfect! All my finger nails are shaped symmetrical with one another and when she paints my nails they are even (no bumps or lines!). She is awesome with my pedicures too! Great experience at Queen's Spa! Located in a small strip mall off of rockville pike, queen's spa is a typical nail shop and a very much welcomed addition to the area. There's a free parking lot dedicated to the strip mall that can get a cluttered during busy hours, but is definitely conveniently located. The shop itself moderately small, but new and clean, and is brightly colored and decorated. There are about 5 manicure stations in front, and 8 pedicure chairs in the back. Customer service is friendly and accommodating, and they offer a variety of nail colors and brands. The prices are fair, but could be readily displayed for customer convenience. My only gripe, hence my 1 star deduction: they used the same gel lamp light from my pedicure to dry my gel manicure. And this particular light, you have to insert your hand/foot into the device...its not the gel lamp light that just rest over your digits (hope Im making myself clear). For sanitary reasons, that bothers me because my hand is likely laying on a surface that someone's foot could've been previously resting on...and you know they don't clean those machines. I realized this occurrence halfway through drying my nails. On the Upside, they use those liners inside the pedicure chair bowls...and are currently running a special for 20% off all services in observance of their grand opening. overall, I recommend..my nails are neat and nicely shaped, and the shop is convenient for a quick touch up! read more

RESPONSE TO OWNER: I knew the owner would respond and invalidate my review because I have read the other poor reviews and the customer always tends to be completely wrong according to the owner. Not once did I have an issue with the prices, I gave the review an extra star because the pricing was cheaper than other places in Rockville. Also, I never had an issue with the shaping of then nail at the end of the pedicure. While she shaped my nails, there were some toes that were crooked so I asked Jenny to fix it and she did, stating that "your nail will be shorter if I file it straight" and I said that was fine rather than me having a crooked nail. When she painted my toes, she flooded my cuticle which is what I asked her NOT to do and she said she wouldn't but still did. After the pedicure was near completion, I pointed at the nails with flooded cuticles and said "This is what I was mentioning earlier when I said I don't like the cuticles pooling with polish because the polish lifts up a week later" and she disregarded my statement. I've included pictures in this review to show exactly what I am talking about. Instead of bashing every poor customer review to save the face of their business, the business owner needs to reach other to customers to understand what went wrong, take the constructive criticism, and improve their business. I've been to Queen Spa a few times since they've opened and had positive experiences each time. Tan (male tech) and Kim (female tech) have done lovely work on manicures and pedicures. My most recent regular polish manicure lasted three weeks! I got a mani-pedi with two nail designs by Kim today for $44 before tip. I'm a perfectionist so the little roughness on the ends of my fingernails and the polish being too light in areas is frustrating but understandable since Kim was stacked with appointment after appointment. This will still be my go to spot because I can count on it being clean and getting great service. read more

For a nail salon in Rockville with its high competition you would think they would have some sort of service but everything was just "ehhh" it wasn't even like their prices were any cheaper compared to other salons either. I paid $60 for my nails today just for some rushed service and lathered lotion in the end. No hand massage of any sort. read more

Not the best customer service. Feel like I'm a burden (given the attitude of nail techs) rather than having a relaxing experience.

I went to Queen's Spa twice. The first time I went, Hannah worked on my nails and did a good job. Hannah was also nice even asking me if I was ok midway. The second time I went I worked with the male nail tech, I did not get his name. He was not personable and did a bad job on my nails. He used one large bead of acrylic on my nails and did not build the apex so, I had flat nails with thicker tips (you can really tell when I turned my nails to the side). He was also rude twice, (when he told me to wash my hands and when I gave him a tip at the end - yeah, I gave him a tip). I was shocked that a licensed nail tech would do such a horrible job on nails. He was also rough when filing my nails. I was quiet the entire time and just examined my nails as he went along. I got my nails done on a Monday and redone by an independent nail tech 3 days later. I won't return to Queen's Spa or recommend to others. read more

Kim did a wonderful job on my pedi... massaged for a long time, gently removed/cleaned/corrected all imperfections, painted very meticulously, and took her time which I loved! I visited Queens spa three times and each visit was almost completely different. During the middle of the week the service was really good. I never felt rushed, the shaping was done well. There was a lot of attention to detail. On my last visit. My technician started soaking my feet for my pedicure then disappeared to go wax someone for a little over twenty minutes while . She ultimately didn't come back for 40 minutes and by then I was able to flag someone down to help me finish my service. He did a good job on my service as a whole but my first technician threw my schedule off and tanked the experience for me. Parking is good. The atmosphere is ok. The pedicure machines are clean. All in all Im not sure I will be back. read more

Have always enjoyed going here, I really like the way Kim does my mani & pedi and her sensitivity to the condition of my feet. I am new to the area and and few years ago l got a pretty bad infection from a nail spa in California and my feet were destroyed... although l get regular pedicures my feet are not the cutest... Kim never made any remarks she just did what she could with my feet and l always left feeling good about her service... Fast forward to last week, Kim was on vacation so another person did my mani & pedi... for starters she was very rough on my pedi, she ended up cutting one of my toes and instead of acknowledging it she applied some antiseptic on it several times as she was trying to hide the bleeding... on top of that she and the technician sitting next to us were looking at my feet laughing and speaking in their language I'm sure they were talking about me... fortunately the other tech was doing my daughters feet so l wasn't as embarrassed as l would've been had it been another customer... Update! I went back in two weeks later after receiving a Yelp message from the owner offering to fix my nails for free. Since I was going to go in anyway, I also booked myself a pedi (which I paid for). I think my nail tech was Jenny. As everyone said, she was very nice and detail oriented. By the time I went in, three of my fingers had broken acrylics. I mentioned how after the first time I had my nails done there, there were gaps between the nail and the acrylic, but she said it shouldn't be an issue. So she fixed them instead of giving me a fresh set. A week later, there was another gap (not fully broken). I'm not sure if I just had a really good nail tech from when I used to get acrylics a while ago (who is no longer there), but this is pretty unusual to me, especially this early on for a full set. Reading other reviews, it seems like their specialty to SNS so I would recommend going here for that, but not acrylic. read more

Got my nails done on Saturday. I went in for a gel pedicure and dip w/ tips. My appointment was at 5:30pm and I left around 8:20pm. Took almost 3 hours, which I wasn't terribly bothered by because I had gel on my toes and dip on my fingers that needed to be removed so I understood it would take awhile. The shape took a very very long time, and towards the end someone else had to take over. It's Wednesday morning and 2 of my nails have broken off- all I did was open a bag of granola and peel the sticker off an apple. The woman who did my nails glued the tips too close to the tip of my natural nail and so they were weak. I have a feeling by the end of today all of my nails will have broken off. read more

Phenomenal pedicure experience. I was looking for a new salon just for my summer pedicure regimen and ran across Queen's. Their regular peds are $28 which isn't bad for the service provided. I walked in Friday afternoon and was seated almost instantly. They have several techs mid day which is a plus because I hate going to salons on the weekends and evenings. The color selection is ok, you'll find a color you like or just bring your own. They accept credit cards, customer service is excellent, they take time with your feet and provide a mini leg massage. Parking is also easy to come by. I saw Tina when I was there. She cleaned my feet well, didn't cut my toes too low, provided 3 paint coats, and made sure I was content throughout the service. My first experience was perfect so I'll stick with them this summer for my pedicure needs. read more

I came the following day to get my nails done but I am disappointed with the results. It looks nothing like the picture I showed. I will say that the nail shape and drill work is good, but the nail design executed was terrible. I've been to many nail salons and I will pay top dollar for my nails to be perfect. I just moved to the Rockville and based off of the reviews I decided to test it out. For simple nail id recommend but for anything intricate I would stray away.
